I think that the horror genre may just not be for me. Also, as with MiniGM, I really had a tough time connecting with Kyleen. Not having any real background to build her personality off, made it difficult to connect.

Lastly, as with others, RL has taken over and not given me the time that I had before. I loved playing the Judge, and creating his uncaring personality was a lot of fun. In this one, it was just not the same for some reason.

I absolutely loved the first Way of the Wicked and still think that it was probably my favorite out of 30-40 campaigns that I played on Paizo.

DMDM - If you ever want to start a new campaign, keep me in mind. I do not know if I will have the time, but if I do and you are starting something, I would be interested in it.

The Judge tried several therapists and social workers to help with his issues.

RL has take a lot of my time. I was probably 5-10 of the posts last game.

No need for that reminder, I still recall the Mountian that Swims from your WotW campaign.

Oh god, I'd forgotten about that unfortunate event.

It was nothing but a talking iceberg. Not something that anyone needs to worry about.

My vote was to sacrifice Bref . . . or whichever one of his reincarnations was with us at that point.

Yes you were.

The Judge suddenly arrives and renders his own form of judgment, turning Elrsok, Rammy and Mikey into undead husks of their former selves.

Darkness didn't swallow the world. How would the Judge be able to enjoy the suffering of others if all were darkness. No, for suffering there must be at least a smidgeon of hope that can be tantalizingly dangled before the prey, and then torn away just when salvation seems certain, thereby maximizing the pain imposed by the loss.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Hey, what did the Judge ever do to you? Even when the option showed itself, the Judge did not dominate you, he did not turn you into a vampiric slave, you should be eternally grateful. And, the Judge means eternally. (Can't say so much for that witch that used to hang out with us.)

See, everyone loved the Judge. Nobody plotted against him - of course this could be because he was practically indestructible, not completely so, but close, and really did not give a damn about anyone else, so he never got involved in their schemes.

No, no, no. You misread it. He said the fall of Balentyne, not the fall of Xenfal.

And, Bref did not die. He was . . . promoted . . . to afterlife warden.

Really, the Judge wanted to hunt down Nimpy and teach the annoying halfling a little something about respecting those who are more powerful. Nimpy might have made a good thrall for the Judge, which would have given the Judge great delight seeing the goodie two shoes halfling being compelled to undertake vile deeds.

I imagine that the Judge would have been filled in more once we began to infiltrate Talingarde proper as that was his forte, the social side of things. Unfortunately, we more or less stopped at about that point.

It was definitely one of my favorite games. When we jumped from level 6 to 15, it sort of lost something, because I really like the building part of the characters and would have loved to have worked the Judge through dying and being reborn as a vampire.

Notwithstanding the level jump, the earlier part of the game was awesome. The personalities that you created for the npcs were great. You also added a level of suspense and the changes to the storyline that you made were great. I still think the whole slanted passage with the boulder following us was my favorite scene from any game. Although it was rather demented, having Grumblejack carry the Judge while he summoned suicide ponies was a blast from a role playing point of view, and is exactly what a LE party would do.

As the others have said, if you should wish to start another campaign, please do not hesitate to give me a call as I will jump in in a second.

Jax, look at my campaigns. We are looking for 1-2 players in a Wrath of the Righteous campaign that I am in. It is fairly early and we are currently 2nd level. The game is moving at a moderate pace with the DM usually posting one time per day. Most of the players are pretty good at posting, and the two slower posters are the ones being replaced right now, one withdrew and the other has not posted in two weeks.

Likewise. I had a great time with the Judge and if you are every looking for someone in a new game let me know. Also, if you are at a con in the northeast/New England, then give me a shout.

The Judge waves his hand toward Bernald:
These are not the evil overlords you are looking for.

With that, Bernald returns to other lurking completely forgetting that this campaign is on hiatus.

Works for me. I have had a lot on my plate as well and if it means the difference between continuing in a half hearted manner, and recharging so that your old creativity shines through, I would definitely go with the latter.

DMDM, if it is an issue, pretty sure that I can put down all the petty Mitrans in your other campaign, without even breaking a sweat. I doubt they would taste good though, as weak as they are.

Personally I find that most clerics are quite tasty, especially the squishy warm sun and life worshipping ones.

Well, the fact that Jax did 500 points of damage last round does make me wonder whether the class is balanced. But, maybe I have just not played in enough high level campaigns.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Hmmm, now I am confused. Do you have shocking grasp memorized with elemental spell? Or are you saying you could do that? I understand if you prepared the spell ahead of time it does not change the casting time, I was thinking of spontaneous casters for the 1 round thing.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Magus is one of those classes, like barbarian, that I have never been able to get any interest in. Don't know why, but something just seems off with both classes so that I have never taken the time to fully understand them and play a character.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Doesn't Elemental Spell make the casting time 1 round?

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Swashbuckler is a lot of fun at that level, or at least it appears it would be.

Not sure if it is PFS legal, but I just discovered the druid (goliath druid) archetype. It looks like a lot of fun. You get to become a large humanoid, and can cast Enlarge Person on yourself. So, I am pretty sure that as of 6th level, you will be able to change form and then enlarge yourself (you get Enlarge Person) into a huge humanoid. If you do not mind a lack of magic on your weapon, you can even cast Shillelagh on your club to make it gargantuan sized (4d6), or you can focus on combat maneuvers and just tackle everything.

Eventually I will get a hug or two in which should slowly drain her.

Na, I thought all the bad guys went together. I did not realize that Tiadora and her adorable puppies went in one group, and the sisters in another. I think that the sisters are up to give you guys some sisterly lovin'.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

The Judge once more shakes his head.
You could have been so much more. So sad it must end this way.

With that, the Judge slams the devil intending to slowly drain her infernal life force.

Attack-slam: 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 15 + 1 = 29 <-- +1 from Haste
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 <-- 2 negative levels if hit (only drains once per round)

Attack-slam: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 1 = 13 <-- +1 from Haste
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 <-- 2 negative levels if hit (only drains once per round)

Attack-slam: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21 <-- +1 from Haste
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7 <-- 2 negative levels if hit (only drains once per round)

9 damage last round, heals 5 from fast healing

The Judge is a lover, not a fighter. That is why he has all the social skills. Put him in a social situation, like subverting towns and cities, and that is where he really shines. For fighting, he usually just tries to avoid getting hurt as it tends to mess up his wardrobe.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Reflex: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (8) + 29 = 37 <-- no damage, ring of evasion
Reflex: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (12) + 29 = 41

The Judge growls:
Stupid dogs. Now you singed my robe. I really hate poorly trained mutts.

As above, the Judge casts Haste and then heads toward Tiadora.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

Damage reduced by DR/10 unless the attack was magic and silver.

Init: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22

The Judge stares at Tiadora.
B!tch. You will pay for that. Your mutts just ripped my shirt.

The Judge then calls on his arcane heritage to make everyone in the party slightly faster.
Cast Hast defensively - will get everyone within 30'.

Cast Defensively: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28 vs DC21 <-- +13CL +8 Cha.

He will then move toward Tiadora, ignoring the hounds and giving them attacks of opportunity.

AC44 with Haste

Just put the macros you want in a spoiler on the main campaign page. I do not think that it recognizes the [dice] there, so you should be able to just cut and paste it.

The Judge yawns:
What took you so long. Still playing the Cardinals pet I see.

The Judge has Combat Reflexes, so he can make AoO if any are possible.

The Judge points at his ghost touch boots, and then kicks Bref a second time for good measure.
Keep it up goblin, and you will end up wishing you were still a ghost.

Male Vampire(former Dhampir) Bard(Negotiator) 13/Anti-Paladin/2 - [HP 209/231; AC43,FF36,T22; CMD32; DR/10 magic+silver; F+28,R+29,W+26; Per+31; Init +12]

When you are as distrusting as the Judge, Sense Motive is a necessity.

And, rolling a 19 does not hurt either.

Not sure what you consider a good Sense Motive. The Judge is usually convinced that everyone is lying, so he has gotten pretty good at reading non-verbal cues and picking up on changes in people's tone of voice.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 33 ⇒ (19) + 33 = 52 <-- in case anything was missed about the lies that everyone else thinks the skull was telling

Look at the Mouser archetype of the Swashbuckler. Swashbucklers are by nature dex based. You actually end up doing decent damage with the swashbuckler bonuses that kick in at level 3. Also, if you drop two feats into Combat Expertise and Butterfly Sting, you can set up your normal sized companions for lots of crits since you will be wielding a rapier (most likely).

Remember, with a swashbuckler, you will be using your Charisma to qualify for combat expertise, and any other Int requiring feats.

You could take 1 or 2 levels of Slayer or Ranger to grab the extra combat feat and the Favored Enemy abilities. It really depends on what you want. With that size, and likely the ability to fly, you are going to be a stealth god.

As far as armor goes. I would start with a chain shirt. But, what you really need is a Wand of Mage Armor, and then Bracers of Protection once you can afford them. Realistically, a Wand of Mage Armor with 50 charges is the same defense as a suit of full plate, but without the weight and dex constraints.

I think that the Mouser really fits what you are looking for. I could swear there was another archtype, or feat, that allows small or smaller players to enter another's square, but I do not recall what it is.

You wouldn't want to hear the Judge laugh. Among other things, it probably has a similar effect to a dragon's Frightful Presence. In addition, it is likely only to occur when he is about to feast after a particularly devious and painful corruption of some white souled person.

It would probably be safer, and easier, to make the skull-entity laugh.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

As an FYI - people can post in the gameplay, and then immediately delete their post (just post a (dot)). The end result is no post in the gameplay thread to mess things up, but the campaign will end up in your Campaign tab so that you can easily see when new things have been posted.

In the dark shadows of the ornately built structure that serves as the headquarters of the Cheliax troops, you see a tall pale skinned man standing and watching. You feel as though your every move can be seen by him. Just looking at him makes you shudder. You do not know who or what he may be, but your every urge makes you want to run and to never have to look at him again, let alone have to interact with the frightful man? Creature?

It replaces the Knowledge/Lore Master ability to take-20 on knowledge rolls of a normal bard. Useful if you are getting info from people, less useful if getting info from books. At least non-sentient books, obviously Jax's favorite book might respond very well to diplomacy or intimidate.

The Judge pauses and considers for a few moments:
As most here are lieges, if not followers, of Asmodeus. I do believe that if we are to free you, we need to understand what aid you will give to us. I shall confer with my companions regarding this matter. I believe that we may be able to reach a common understanding regarding this in short order.
