Danse Macabre

0 hd you say?

Goblins! Please let there be something for these awesome fire worshiping, city raiding, dog-and-horses hating little green guys!

Danse Macabre

Sorry, I lost my dot.

Looking again at the books he found earlier, Juco wonders what natural wonders are described within ther pages.

And then waits to see if anyone else has an idea.

Danse Macabre

Juco mimes opening the door and whacking whoever is in there with his staff.

Danse Macabre

Juco holds a finger to his lips, calling for silence, then points to the door, indicating someone is on the other side. Gripping his staff, he tries to open the door slightly so they can hear clearer and see whoever is talking.

Danse Macabre

Juco, wondering why he didn't notice it before, goes to investigate what may lie beyond the door. He puts an ear to it to try to hear anything that may be behind it, then checks to see if it is unlocked.

Listen:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26

Danse Macabre

"Maybe I can buy some copies in the town when this all dies down." Juco thinks to himself as he looks at the books for a moment, before turning to see if the others are ready to leave.

Danse Macabre

Juco glances at the orcs, suspicious as to why they are on this floor of the building...

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

He soons turns his attention to the books, hoping to find some on plant or animal life, though he doesn't expect to find any in this place.

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Danse Macabre

Follows Ulm.

The Thassilonian culture was not one I ever had time to intellectually pursue. I encountered some things in my language studies of course."

"Pride. Y mi liugty ri Wrath."

Sylvan:
Pride. I am guilty of Wrath.

Guilty of Wrath because he wants the people who destroyed his home dead after they suffer like he did. Whatever it takes...

Danse Macabre

Juco mumbles something in sylvan that translates roughly into "Just like a human."

"Protect us from fairies and gnomes," the old woman says sarcasticly.

Juco pulls his hood back to reveal his lineage, an almost imperceptible grin on his face.

Danse Macabre

Juco looks at the 'housekeepers', than at his companions, not knowing what to do.

Danse Macabre

Hello all. I am currently on vacation, so my posting time has dwindled considerably. Storyteller, you may play Juco should I be unavailable.

Juco can remember the name of on;y one deity, and he speaks it aloud as Ilantes searches.

"Gozreh."

Danse Macabre

Juco accepts the quarters offered and sits on one of the beds, his staff never far from his grasp. He waits.

Danse Macabre

Juco stares at the mansion/castle, shocked by it's size and angrily wondering how many trees where destroyed to make it, how many dryads dead.

Danse Macabre

So we each get a mount? Or are we still using the cart?

"Corian klac ti ropof ptos ou morf vasing hilcrend?"

Elven:
Would lack of proof stop you from saving children?

"Y t'won tle therrona edi..."

Elven:
I won't let another one die.

Danse Macabre

Juco draws his scimitar and begins to test its sharpness for the upcoming fight.

"Yan ohw drame hilcrend llehs..."

Elven:
Any who would harm children...

Gary, startled, starts to get up, but hits his head on the bottom of the table. He slips, and falls flat on the floor, groaning.

Juco walks into the room and drags the kender from under the table, then helps him up.

Danse Macabre

We have an elven duskblade who tries to think the best of people, an anti-social forest gnome druid, a spellthief kender(no need to explain that), a dwarven wizard who is gruffer than his beard, and an unfeeling warforged fighter. This is a great group!

Danse Macabre

Juco is waiting just outside the room, keeping watch for anything unusual while listening to the conversation.

If Spot and Listne checks are needed, just tell me.

That's okay, I don't have a high Charisma either, but at least I've been trained a little in the art of Diplomacy. By the way, when Ulm did that, I was having a hard time keeping from laughing at the scenario. This immediately popped into my mind and I haven't been able to let go of it yet: "You can lead a dwarf to reason but you can't make him think." Still cracking up over that. Anyway, waiting to see if Helmut calms down a little. P.S., you could probably put any other one-syllable race in there and it would be funny: elf, orc, gnome, etc.

Especially the orc. ;)

Danse Macabre

Juco waits just outside the door, and nods a greeting to Ulm when he is forced out.

"This little trip is starting to be more interesting than I thought..." he thinks to himself.

Danse Macabre

I am switching out longstrider for entangle.

Juco sits in front of his room's window as he begins his praying for his daily spells. He joins the others for breakfast if they ask him, though he eats only what he needs to and little more

Danse Macabre

Sergeant, Ulm, you're both doing fine. We all make up a rather functional unfunctional group.

I had listened to the conversation, given my opinion on little. When we go to the rooms provided for us, I found the beds almost uncomfortable, used as I was to ground and tree limbs. I set my things under the bed and lean my staff against it. Looking at the others, I struggle with a language I try to speak little if at all.
I'm pobably going to stop posting like that, I just can't get into it.

"What now?

Danse Macabre

In party conflict is almost never in a RL game, no matter that you only just meet say... and hour ago. This is a welcome relief from the normal games, and makes sesne for this group. We also seem to have spiltinto tiny in-group groups...

Gary Thoughtfinder wrote:
Wow, that seems a bit extreme! It seems like the peasants think they're acting in self defense, killing them would be wrong!

Elven:
How dangerous are children?

"Yan ohw drame hilcrend llehs reyl iy hanggro..."

Elven:
Any who would harm children shall feel my wrath...

Danse Macabre

Trying something different.

I listen to the priest's tale, I keep my face blank, and listen intently. As he tells the last part, about the defenseless elderly and children being rounded up for death, it is all I can do to keep from crying out in rage and sadness in remembrance of that day... But I fear such emotions may have shown themselves in my eyes as I choose to help this human.

"Oseth ohw drame hilcrend llehs reyl iy hanggro..."

Elven:
Those who would harm children shall feel my wrath...

Danse Macabre

With one last nod of thanks to the mules, Juco follows Sergeant.

Danse Macabre

Juco watches the priestly man and the armored one with hidden caution and disdain.

"Y nodt keil stiher."

Sylvan:
I do not like this.

He taps the kender on his shoulder.

"Hi hys norem falir."

Elven:
Do what you like.

Danse Macabre

Juco, of course, remains silent. He looks at the man doing who asked who they were, and hopes the kender chooses to remain quite.

Danse Macabre

Juco thinks to himself: "I must not hit him... he is part of the group..." He begins to hope they fight an enchanter soon...

Danse Macabre

Juco points out the lights to the rest of the group.

"Mosnyia ko livae."

Elven:
Someone is still alive.

Danse Macabre

"Oyu erwe fra mrof calytny, Ilantes."

Sylvan:
You were far from useless Ilantes.

Danse Macabre

Kneeling, Juco cast a spell and places a hand on his legs. He then stands and begins to look around and listen for any thing unusual...

Cast longstrider.

Spot:15

Listen:12

Danse Macabre

Juco covers his nose while, placing his staff aside and drawing his scimitar.

"Gi deray."

Elven:
Be ready.

Danse Macabre

Juco looks at the 'kender', and begins to say something in Sylvan. Seeing no reaction, he moves on to Gnome, and finally Elven.

[Elven]"Calm down. I would not like to be the only one under 4ft in this group again, it messes with my neck when I always have to look up to talk to someone's face instead of their waist."[/Elven]

Danse Macabre

He looks away, a far-off look on his face. Then he pulls his hood up and goes to sit in the carriage.

Ilantes rolls her eyes.

"That was wicked, Juco. You know what I meant."

His words come out haltingly, as if he hasn't used Common in a long time.

"I know, but when your home is destroyed by human loggers for a bridge when there is a shallow bend in the river a mile away, you gain a serpent's tongue."

Ilantes Merblaem wrote:

Juco smiles a bit wickedly.

"Yhw dregorat uo hige a srohe calthyntras bedir?"

Sylvan:
Why wouldn't you give a horse a chance?

Danse Macabre

"Y tilsl hinkt s'ti terrasm tnhe tosm muhanis."

Sylvan:
I still think it's smarter than most humans.

Its getting harder and harder to make this language. Fun though! :)

Danse Macabre

Sense Motive:16

Juco's doesn't sense anything.

Danse Macabre

"Tekna fel. Terrasm tnhe tosm muhanis, ta elast."

Sylvan:
Of course. Smarter most humans, at least.

Juco turns back to the horse.

"Dekkathe, nadgre srohe."

Sylvan:
Apoligies, grand horse.

Danse Macabre

Juco speaks to the horse in Sylvan, trying to soothe it...

WildEmpathy:1d20+1-1=10

Danse Macabre

Juco laughs openly.

"Ttah eda ochi cor magicka!"

Sylvan:
That made it worth the spell!

Danse Macabre

Juco moves to inspect the man. He places his hands over the worst of the wounds and chants softly. A pale green light pulses and the injuries begin to heal...

Cure Light Wounds:4

Danse Macabre

Juco slices at the creature nearest him, wishing his blade was silver...
