You mean your new friends?

The other looters. They're my kinda looters.

"Mary Ann, we gotta move quietly. We don't wanna attract the attention of the looters."

Taking 20 if possible.

"I think he's gone. Let's go." Johnnie starts unbolting the door.

Johnnie looks through the peephole again.

The peephole doesn't give you enough of a look to make sense of anything. The man seemed to be walking slowly. It occurs to you that perhaps he's dazed. He could be the assailant himself, or it could have just been an accidental injury.

Oh well.

"Mary Ann, the people here have guns? I fear that there are looters. There's a man outside hurt but I am not sure if his assailant is not there. Or may be he is the assailant and his victim is in dire need of help." Johnnie whispers to Mary Ann.

Spoiler:
You're really placing me in an rpg dilemma

will be leaving d office in a few minutes; post back in a few hours.

There is a peephole but you can't see anything. You hear groaning. The sort of groaning one might make if one was suffering terribly.

Johnnie signs to Mary Ann for silence. Johnnie makes sure that the door is bolted. He then continues his watch through the peephole.

Mary Ann wrote:

"I think I have some masks. Wait a minute."

<Runs to her bedroom, comes back a minute later with a packed bag.>

"Let's go.... ummm. Where are we going?"

<She puts on a surgical mask and hands one to you.>

"Somewhere safe. We'll leave the city."

"Mary Ann let's go. Friends are waiting for us."

Johnnie takes a cautious look at what is happening in the hallway. Through the peephole if there is one.

Mary Ann wrote:

<Jumps through the door and hugs you.>

"Someone was just screaming here in the building. I was just calling you."

<She pulls you in the door.>

** spoiler omitted **

"Gather up your bag, we gotta go. If you gotta a mask, wear it now." Johnnie whispers as he hugs Mary Ann. "Look, I heard that an airborne disease is sweeping through the country. We gotta head out to the country."

Am at Gramarcy apartments, what do I find?

"Guys, we need to drop by my clinic. There are some supplies there that we need." Says Johnnie as he heads out the door of the hardware to Mary Ann's place. "Meet you guys at Gramarcy across the street."

After scrounging for some disinfectant soap, alcohol and betadine, Johnnie says:

"Guys, I gotta meet my girl. Meet you in front of Gramarcy Apartments just across the street. Don't worry. I got some medicine and I know how to use them."

Johnnie heads out of the hardware and to Mary Ann's place taking care not to be accosted by any roving bands of looters.

The post rate is amazing. Please bare with me. Got a counter-affidavit to finish.

"Grab all the masks and respirators." Johnnie grabs a club if there is one.

"Sarge, which hospital? The Vancouver General?"

Johnnie sends a text to Mary Ann: "We gotta leave Van. The epidemic is worse than has been reported. Please get some clothes and food into a bag. I'll be at your door shortly."

No prob here.

His bag full of food stuff, Johnnie looks for a clean towel. He finds one and dips the same in water to make a improvised mask. He wraps it over his nose and mouth. "Sarge, we better get some masks. Just received information that the contagion is airborne. Perhaps, the hardware store has some. Let's go."

Johnnie picks up his cell again and calls Mary Ann. The voicemail activates, "Hey, I'm at the Starbucks across the street from your apartment. I'll drop by in 5 minutes."

"Hello Sam. Sad to meet under these circumstances. Please grab a bag and fill it with food."

"I'll take you up on your offer, Sgt."

Johnnie shoves a paper bag into the hands of Sgt. Patrick Curtin. "Fill the bag up with food. You'll need food whatever you decide to do."

Sgt. Curtin wrote:
Fantastic name BTW Radavel ...LOL

Thanks, Pat. Robert Heinlein used that name in his novel.

"Johnnie. Sorry if I can't shake your hand. I'm kinda busy. You should do the same."

Johnnie pulls out his cell. Looks up a number in the phonebook and calls. He recieves a busy signal and ends his call, frustrated. "The lines are all busy. But sure yeah there's a signal. For all the good it will do us."

Johnnie then picks up a thermos and starts filling it up with extra strong coffee. He then gathers some pastries and puts them in his bag.

"Just waiting for someone? You?"

Johnnie accepts a double shot of espresso and considers the people inside Starbucks.

"What's keeping Mary Ann?" Johnny mutters to himself nervously as looks at his watch. He clutches his backpack protectively, knowing that the medicine inside would be crucial. He only needs food and other supplies and he can be ready to get out of town with Mary Ann. He'll call Allan as soon as he can to tell him to get out as well.

David Bowie's tune is kinda catchy he thinks to himself. I hope the people back home know enough to hide out in the mountains.

He says a short prayer for guidance. He wipes the sweat from his brow. It's been a long day. He puts his hand into his pocket and realizes that he has a couple of scalpels wrapped inside a thick cloth towel. Weapons, yes.

Rico is on the way to Starbucks to buy his usual cup of coffee. It's been a long day.
