Are 3.5 FAQs of any value in pathfinder, for discussions concerning RAW or RAI.

Absolutely, as long as the content in question didn't change.

Immediate Actions

In my games, I'm a big fan of rolling initiative early and often. If the party approaches a group with unknown intentions on either side, and both groups are aware of each other, roll initiative while they are still some distance away. That does three things.

1) It serves as a tool to give each player equal time to say something or do something as I cycle through the initiative counts. If someone wants to start casting buffs, then I'm already tracking rounds for duration.

2) It also makes it harder to immediately identify friend from foe. If you roll initiative for non-hostile meetings, there's no DM cue for how to treat the NPC.

3) If player wants to be a loose cannon and fireball the group, he can. The recipients could have readied actions though, depending on the setup. Could be he just fireballed a group of pilgrims that were in a bad mood, or brigands intent on robbing them.

But to the OP, ready is a combat action, and you can't ready an action if you aren't sequencing actions by initiative.

Since two (or more) stones would technically be different sources, I'm not sure what would stop them from stacking.

They are considered they same source. Much like if you cast Virtue multiple times. It would be considered the same source (Virtue spell), even though they are multiple copies cast at different times.

The source of the bonus is an ioun stone, so you can't use another one to increase the bonus.

Conditional clause at the start appears to apply to whole sentence. You only get the increased reach while using the style and using elemental fist to deal cold damage.

This is where I think alignment fails. Too many people play alignments as black and white. and so they argue well he helped an evil guy and now he looses ability. I think thats not within spirit of game. Evil deities and good deities work together all the time to promote common goals. I think if the evil guy is helping and the goals are similar and he is not raping and murdering in front of the cleric/paladin then there is no issue with this.

Also, people tend to focus on good/evil and ignore law/chaos.

In theory, a lawful good and lawful evil character are just as likely to team up against a chaotic foe compared to lawful good and chaotic good teaming up vs. evil foes. However you rarely see the former dynamic, even though they should be equivalent.

For the record, I'm not a fan of alignments in general.

Topic says it all, can a monk enchant his clothing?

Don't think you can have your cake and eat it too. You either view clothes as a form of armor and thus enchantable, or not. If they are a form of armor, monks aren't proficient with any armor and lose their monk abilities while wearing them. If they aren't considered armor, then they shouldn't be enchantable as armor either.

For the record, the raging orcs have the same problem whether the paladin moves, or they kill it. In that circumstance, they are trapped and really need external healing to rescue them.

If they stand adjacent to each other, they have more control over when the benefit ends. If they go all in and flank, they will likely lose the benefit at the end of the round (target is killed or moves).

Using the feat, you gain the benefit of stronger attacks, and the benefit of not falling unconscious immediately when you lose all of your "normal" hitpoints. You still need to be aware of your actual hitpoints though to avoid a Pyrrhic victory.

I'm uncertain what can add to CMD? Would spells like Shield or a deflection from a Ring of Protection?

A creature can also add any circumstance, deflection, dodge, insight, luck, morale, profane, and sacred bonuses to AC to its CMD. Any penalties to a creature's AC also apply to its CMD. A flat-footed creature does not add its Dexterity bonus to its CMD.

Shield spell, no. Ring of Protection, yes.

The term "Charisma-based checks" is not precisely defined. My interpretation is that it means any roll labeled as a "check" in the rules (which includes skill, ability, and concentration) that is modified by CHA of the wearer of the circlet. This would also include checks that were altered to apply a CHA modifier instead of INT (or whatever), if such a feat existed.

The 3.5 FAQ did have an entry for the circlet, which I think supports this position.

The circlet of persuasion (DMG 252) grants a +3 competence bonus on Charisma-based checks. Does this bonus apply on turn/rebuke undead checks?

Yes—anything described as a Charisma check (as well as all Charisma-based skill checks) would gain this bonus.

Concentration was a CON based skill check in 3.5, so this wasn't relevant then. Now that it can be CHA based, I don't see why it would be ruled out if turn/rebuke checks were allowed before.

If someone actually used the circlet for this purpose in my games, I'd also allow the creation of similar WIS and INT items to keep it fair.

Also, if a DM ruled that this did not apply to concentration checks, I'd have no problems with that.

It is going to take a lot of willpower for me to not roleplay Robahl as Harold Zoid from Futurama.

"Cut, cut, cut it! Would you show a little emotion? [He turns to the extras] People, people, please. Just because it's a dramatic scene, doesn't mean you can't do a little comedy in the background. Throw a pie or two, for God's sake."

"Cut! Cut! Cut it! I said this is a talkie, damnit! You've got to emote more! And you extras, wave your arms and make faces. What is this, a morgue?"

Even more off-topic, first time I saw Millech, I said to myself "Sorcerer". He fits Tom Smykowski from Office Space.

"I have people skills! I'm good at dealing with people! Can't you understand that?"

If I go this route, Millech is actually a talented actor, but given his condition, he gets axed from auditions before he even opens his mouth.

If my group is in the need of some levity, I may end up going this route with one or both of them. Just wish I could do accents better...

I've seen more emotion out of zombies.

Don't quit your day job.

You were singing? I thought that was your Shrieker impersonation.

Hold on, let's have you and the coat rack switch roles, I think that will work better.

I didn't know there was an opposite to Cat's Grace.

No, it's okay, I'm sure you can get this right in time. Or at least the Elves can. The rest of you only have 100 years or so.

I should have taken that job cleaning the sewers.

I wonder how much it would cost to have Silence cast over the entire audience, for their protection.

I guess as a fallback plan, we can always have you killed and animated for the performance. Actually, that might work better.

Do you know what the difference is between you and a statue? Neither do I.

Remind me to have someone cast Feeblemind on me before the performance. I will want no recollection of this play.
