Background story on Dolgrin(half-orc sorcerer): I come from a faroff village called Dolgo. The village started out very peaceful and prosperous where fear was an unatural feeling to them. Humans and Orcs got along together and even dwarfs were cheerful. Then one day a warlord by the name of Achor strode his army into the village. The warlord demanded unpayable amounts of money from the village. The village council ordered thier warriors to resist the army but were easily overun by the better trained and equiped warriors. The village was destroyed and the creatures there were sold into slavery . But in the midst of all the death and suffering was a being whos parents were killed in the fighting who had unatural powers and had the natural ability for magic. That child grew up with revenge in his eyes and when he became an adult he left the solitude he grew up in alone. When he travaled to a more populated area he asked of his villages fate from a town scribe who kept records of happenings. He said that the slave caravan leaving from his village was lost when they crossed a range of strange moutains and were never found or seen again. So to this day Dolgrin is still trying to find the remains of his village.
Ill have the character sheet ready in a later post. Thanks for reading my post
Hold your blade Shosuro. He is nothing to us now other than someone the law should deal with. He has given us information that will aid us in catching the true criminal and he is unarmed. We can bind him and allow justice to take its course with him when we return to town.
Jin will move to defend the man if he is attacked
Jin moves around among the corpses and checks to see if all are truly dead. Checking the wound he recieved he knows that it will be an addition to numerous scars he has gained in his warlords service.
These men were ill-prepared. We can only hope that the full gang is as bad as this. I do not believe the next group will fall so easily.
He pulls his long-stemmed pipe from its case and packs it. LIghting the sweet tobacco he begins to add some markings to his scabbard whilst murmuring something to himself. He stands when finished and draws deeply on the pipe for a while.
Jin follows through with his slash and steps up to the man getting his weapon reloaded
He slashes hard at the mans lower belly to allow for a follow up after this attack.

Perception with low-light vision to see Shosuro and Katze.
Jin almost lets his second arrow fly but is unsure of where Katz and Shosuro were standing
Jin drops his bow to the ground and his Katana appears in his hand. He bellows DUTY!! HONOR!!
and charges the man with the arrow protruding from his body.

When the man turns to see the noise in the bushes Jin release his arrow at his undefended back.
Now Katz! The one going for the horn.
initiative 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Jin will move 20 ft closer and pull another arrow from his quiver as he moves
Jin begins reciting a war song to his warlord in his mind. The tension of the bow not waivering even the least as he waits for what seems to be the longest heartbeats of the day.
thinking to himself
Jin draws the bow tight and aims at the man with the waraxe.
perception to see if the other three have awakened 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Jin rides into the night remembering his vision. He follows shosuro and korren as they lead and keeps an arrow at the ready as he rides.
As the group stops and prepares for a more silent approach Jin speaks softly to So-Han.
wait here until my return my friend.
turning to the group he whispers
I will wait for your signal before firing and then closing for the attack.
Jin follows the group but keeps a slight distance back from them. He realizes his skill at silent warfare is lacking. It was not the way of his training as he is more prepared for a face to face battle with his foes. He watches and nearly loses sight of Sho and Korren as they move with great ease in the shadows.
perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Jin keeps an arrow readied as he moves as quietly as he can.
Jin excepts the pipe and begins to draw deeply from it. Slowly at first and then holding the smoke until its effects have taken hold securely. He allows himslef to fall into the meditative state caused by the herb and begins to see himself from the outside.........
As he stands with his Katana he flows truly as the song of a true warrior. The blade sings in unison with his muscle movements. There is no longer a sword and a blade master but there is only song. The song and dance of true understanding of how the sound causes pure efficiency of movement and power. Nothing lost and nothing gained from all the movemnets make it true beaty and artistry. A true master of his weapon and a leader of all that stands for justice and honor when combined with the code of warriors....... sleep
Jin-darus listens to the conversation between the elves and continues to scan the horizon for anything. perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
When there is a moment he speaks in elvish to the tribesman
Well met kin we are looking for a man that leads a band of thugs. his name is Slate and we are going to bring him to the local authorities to answer for his crimes. Have you seen any recent large groups traveling throught this area towards the jade mines.
Jin knocks the coals loose in his long stemmed pipe on his boot. He repacks a small amount of sweet tobacco in it and waits for the others to finish loading the corpse onto Korrens mount. He raises himself up in his stirrups to scan the horizon in the direction they are going. perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Pulling his compass from his side pouch out he checks to see if they are still somewhat on course. survival 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 Looking back around the area to locate some natural landmarks, Jin puts the compass away and begins humming an old warrior marching song to himself.
this man was in league with the criminal we seek. His fate was delivered to him at the bottom of this hole. He can stay there too.
With that Jin begins to untie his rope and kick the body back in the pit.
Jin begins to light his long stemmed pipe and mounts up. He readys another arrow with his bow and waits for the others to move out along the same path.
It sounds as though whoever this person was writing too was also trying to start a rebellion somwhere. Does anyone know of any recent insurrections in this realm or in this area? Maybe the locals in town would know of this.
Jin-darus scans the area
He hasn't been dead for too long so these events written here could be current actions taking place as well in this area. What caravans go through here? Maybe we could find out who this was if the trading company had a manifesto of materials and persons.
I could try a knowledge nobility 1d20 ⇒ 1 but that seems as though it would pertain to where I originated from
I have some rope and can lower you down, but you do remember the size of the thing we scared down there right?
Jin pulls out his silk rope and ties it off to the saddle horn on the horse. He dismounts and lowers the rope down the hole.
I will keep an eye on you as you go down. Be careful friend.
Jin speaks something quietly to So-Han and readys an arrow should the snake reappear.
horses strength 19(+4) check to pull him back up when he needs it 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Wise words Katz. We would lose all the element of surprise if they were nearby.
looking down the hole You could speak with that beast? I did not realize that then. I only saw it attacking allies and reacted as I thought appropriate.
Jin calls for So-Han and mounts up I will trail behind Katz and Korren to support them if needed
I believe this is my round 2 actions
Jin sees the snake turn and lunge for one of the four Shosuros.
Four Shosuros? wow which one is the real one?
He takes the opportunity and strikes out at the snake using both hands on his Katana. For HONOR!!
Crit confirm 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 and damage if crit 1d8 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 8 + 4 = 16 total damage 32
Jin-darus sees his arrow hit home. He lets fly his second arrow attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13 damage 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 . As the beast rears up to attack Korren and his mount Jin will spur his mount to within 35 feet of the Snake.
to So-Han his mount. Stay here my friend in safety
He drops from the saddle and bellows loudly at the snake.
issues a challenge to the snake +4 to damage and gain DR 2/- vs attacks from the snake.
He draw his weapon and awaits the anger of the beast...
Jin-darus wakes early and prepares himself mentally by going through a series of excercises with his katana. He meets the rest of the group in the courtyard and checks his gear and rations again.
speaking to So-Han, his mount, soothingly.
Today old friend we again enter battle together. Carry me to victory and honor as you have always done.
As the group heads out of town he reins in near Ktaze and Korren.
Is any one taking lead as our scout? I was going to take first in marching order behind that person as a good defense against anything from the front.
Jin moves forward to the front of the group and rides on. Checking his compass quickly he scans the horizon as he pulls his bow and knocks an arrow. The movement of his trusted mount barely affecting him he stands high in the stirrups to look out across the desert. perception spot 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
The breeze flutters through his banner as it hangs from his bow.
Watching the woman walk away Jin-Darus knocks back the rest of his drink.
He moves back to the table where Korren used to sit
Wonder where he went?
Jin heads over to the bar and finds an empty spot. He looks around to see if any of his friends are still present. percep 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Jin notices the regulars are getting a bit rowdy. So he pulls a stool up, orders a round of drinks for the two closest people to him and waits to watch the rough stuff start.
Ah this should be an interesting evening hahaha
After a few hours Jin will return to the Jade Palace to sleep the spirits off.
assuming something insane doesnt happen before the night is over lol
Seeing the woman's movements and looks, will put JIn on the defense mentally. However he believes a good offense is the best defense. Jin moves over to the table where she is seated and sits down. He makes no eye contact but places his drink and his hands on the table in front of him.
good evening mam. I couldnt help but notice your interest in that young man over there. I know him personally if you would like to meet and speak with him. Or maybe I could answer some questions for you.
He pulls the long stemmed pipe from his mouth and begins to loosen the embers and restoke them. Looking up at the nearest waiter he beckons him over...
But where are my manners. I apologize. My name is Jin-Darus, may I get you a drink or anything before we chat.
He looks up at her across the table with a sly grin.
That is of course, if you would like some company.
sense motive 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Jin-Darus Takes a seat at the counter table with the rest of the group and packs a large amount of sweet tobaco in the long stemmed pipe. He listens to the music and asks the waiter for a glass of hard whiskey. A new found pleasantry that he enjoyed after a day of excitement. It seemed to calm the nerves and allow for more free and open conversation. He scans the room and chooses a few of the obvious easterners and a couple of the shadier looking "rascals" that he would try and glean some info from.
perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
As the place begins to get noisy he moves off to make some new allies hopefully.
diplomacy 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Every few minutes he will return and refill his drink and mingle with the group at the table and pass along any info that he has come across.
Thank you very much for allowing us to stay here. I will return this evening after gathering supplies.
Jin-darus will mount up and move around town collecting some gear.
50' silk rope 10gp
travelers outfit 1 gp
trail rations 10 days 5gp
character sheet adjusted
gather info perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Jin will stop by the Clock and gear for some evening music and drinks before retrning to the jade palace.
Listening to the woman speak Jin slowly draws in the sweet taste of the tobacco. When she is done speaking he thinks quietly for a time on what has been said.
sense motive 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
The fates have brought us together. I believe this man you are asking us to find is the same that my leige is also looking for. I accept your task and will retrieve you item and this man for you. His injustices and crimes against the innocent are many and he must be brought to justice.
Pondering a thought for just a moment Jin taps the pipe to allow air to reach the smoldering embers. Pulling lightly on the pipe to restoke the coals he looks in the direction of the lady.
diplomacy 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Since we would be gainfully in you're employ and to avert any undue questioning from the local authority. I would ask that we be given quarter. This would allow us better collaboration between you and oureselves and also a strong and trusted base of operations for rest and recovery if needed.
Jin-Darus bows deeply to no one in particular and says
I will honor and swear temporary allegiance to your cause as my warlord family has given me want to do if needed to complete my task
Jin-darus moves over to the fountain and draw out his long-stemmed pipe. Packing in some sweet tobacco he lights it and looks around the courtyard.
perception 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
He takes in the architecture sighst and thinks back on his homeland and warlord family. It was the only family he knew. He would see them again when justice was served on the murders of his warlords business associates.
Looking around at his new companions he is pleased that he has found honorable and worthy folks to be with. Their readiness to defend the old man at the Zen Garden shows well their honorable ways.
Seeing Allisera waiting for a response Jin-Darus stand and begins to gather his effects.
bowing deeply to Feng Rui
Then it is off to the jade palace. I would enjoy some of your special tea and a good conversation on what you need help with. with a quick flourish of his cloak We can figure the finances out as well when we arrive.
Jin-Darus leaves for the palace without another word.
Jin-darus wipes clean his katana and replaces it on its sheath without excess pomp or flourish. Speaking to no one in particular
I take no pleasure in slaying the young warrior. Young samurai that are not pure of heart become bloodthirsty killers when they are grown. If I had not challenged him then he would be here to commit atrrocities on the innocent in the future. It was fate that brought him here, and he met it.
Jin sits back in his seat and pulls on the long-stemmed pipe deeply. Deep in thought he seems to pay little attention to the man speaking.
sense motive on the man speaking 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
He begins to carve a small form on the lower edge of his scabbard. It looks the same as the other 25-30 forms that are already there.
When he has finished the form he murmurs to himself slowly in some odd form and continues to listen to the man and his friends speak.
I'll bite. lets give this dueling a whirl and i'll try not to get myself killed lol
JIn steps forward and stands in front of the samurai not breaking his gaze locked on the warroirs eyes.
When the last ring of three breaks .....draw
Jin lets out 3 distinct large smoke rings and when the last 1 disapates he moves....
1d6 ⇒ 4
Still in the proces of aligning smoke rings in various patterns Jin looks out the window.
If threatening old men is honourable then consider yourself insulted. You will not kill him today.
Pausing and taking an extended pull from the pipe Jin slowly taps out the coals over the bar and begins to repack it.
Do you wish for death today young warrior? Because I only see yours in the future if you continue.
Jin lights his newly packed pipe and gazes deeply into the eyes of the warrior. Smoke trailing from the stem and his mouth in unison, He looses his sword latch and rests his hands easily on the pommel.
What is your wish my young warrior?
Slowly pulling a long draw of the sweet tobacco Jin Stands and moves over too the spot in the bar that was opened when Aedia went to help the monk.
Speaking loudly but to no-one in particular:
Why is it young warriors decide to threaten old men? Do they not have enough challenges from other young warriors that want to test their steel. Or maybe they are to afraid to test their will against a true warrior.
With that Jin takes a long pull and blows some smoke rings in the direction of the samurai. he turns slowly and lets his gaze fall in the direction of the samurai.
Jin is a heavy set Half elf with features leaning more human than elf. Standing around 6'6 his demeaner is calm and emotionless. His face shows maybe 30 years of age and his skin is a darkend yellow with straight jetblack hair. He will normally wear his cloak over the elaborit armor of his Lord and smokes an unusually long stemmed pipe with an odd smelling tobacco. He makes no effort to hid the katana at his side. He keeps his gaze unfixed and will not look directly into anothers eyes unless in battle. If approached and spoken to his replies are always brief but courteous in manner.

Did you allow using alternate racial traits?
ex. elven adaptability trait gives skill focus as a bonus feat changes to Dual minded trait which gives a +2 will save?
Also a samurai using HOnor in all things ability is +4 bonus to a skill or saving throw. could that be calculated in with you reaction phase reflex roll at the time of the duel if you hadnt used it already that day?
can i get a check on these duel bonuses to make sure im at least close
rep phase bonus = +2
gaze phase Challenge ability, 4 ranks in intim = +2
reaction phase +1 init +4(+7) reflex = +5(+8)
draw phase Quick draw, 4 ranks bluff, 4 ranks sleight of hand = +3
attack phase attack bonus +10, 1 hnd katana, charge, warrior spirit, dodge = +14
