About Jester King
Raised on meat from the blue box of Dungeons and Dragons, this gamer can trace his gaming roots to about 1979. Two strong gaming groups have been my mainstay with players, the first that lasted about ten years and the current ongoing group nears its second decade of play. I can only recall an approximate three year long drought where I had no one to play with. During this drought, fueled by the need to create, a homebrew was spun, a world came to being and years of excellent gaming bore fruit.
I am unusual in that as a Born Again Christian, Bible loving and God Fearing individual, I have weathered seasonal storms from fellow believers on the evils of the game, but remained adamant in the belief that most of these arguments come from pigeon-holing Dungeons and Dungeons and not understanding the essential of the game, its nuances and rich tapestry of imagination.
The current gaming group consists of believers and non-believers, all good friends - loved and admired. Our sessions include tirades on how bad the first three Star Wars movies are, current events, comics, movies, politics, and why Jesus died for everyone - oh and we manage to play as well.
With our average member being in his early 40's, our group is eclectic and diverse, with members in the movie industry and business world. Our respective wives, girlfriends and children wonder if we will continue our sessions in an old folks home to which we proudly respond "yes", by then we will have completely figured out the grappling rules.
