Istas Wraithscar wrote:
"Nice work with those arrows."

"Thank you," says Jeorik simply and then, taking one last look to make sure there are no remaining enemies in the room, he helps examine the derro. Pulling the brass ring from the derro's finger, Jeorik hands it to Heather for examination. Then he takes a look at the vial of thick lavender liquid wondering, "Is this poison do you think, or something beneficial?"

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Glad that he has already drawn his sword, Jeorik flicks out expertly at the Derro as he moves past.

Sword attack: (1d20+4=24)
Critical check: (1d20+4=12)
Damage: (1d8+2=3)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Though the zombie is threatening, Jeorik gambles that he can loose one more arrow before it closes with him.

Arrow Attack at the Derro: (1d20+9=27)
Damage: (1d8+1=8) ^_^

As the arrow flies strong and true, Jeorik switches his bow to his left hand and draws his sword with his right.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

The boards wouldn't let me edit my post last night to add in my fortitude save. I had a 17 total for the save.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Attack with an arrow: (1d20+9=12)

The light flashing past his eyes throws off Jeorik's aim and though the room is illuminated better, he finds his arrow missing its mark.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"Spear and bow," says Jeorik, a bit awed by the magics he seeing but he steels himself and focuses on unleashing another arrow at the derro.

Arrow Attack: (1d20+7=20)
Damage: (1d8+1=8)

Suddenly realizing that lifting the lantern would help their cause, but not wanting to forego his bow, Jeorik yells out, "Someone can take this lantern and hold it aloft!"

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Before the Derro can act again, Jeorik unleashes a second arrow.

Point Blank Shot (with -2 penalty): (1d20+7=20)
Damage: (1d8+1=5)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

As it looks like Jeorik will be going close to first (and so the DM won't have to wait)...

The condition of the prisoners more than that of the body is what convinces Jeorik of the wickedness of their enemies. Without even waiting for or considering offering quarter, Jeorik, his arrow already to the string, fires a precise shot past his companions towards the little man.

Point Blank Shot: (1d20+9=24)
Damage: (1d8+1=5)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik still has the magical lantern on his belt.

Jeorik looks at the body on the table, but says nothing.

With his bow still at the ready, he follows the others further northward through the tunnels but he looks down the soouthern tunnel, wondering what might be down there.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I guess we head straight north then, right.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Istas Wraithscar wrote:
"Still both your tongues," Istas morbidly rebukes her two arguing companions, "You stand upon the hallowed ground of the Lady of Graves, and her eyes...more than any other...watch over us now."

Isn't that what I said, thinks Jeorik to himself, but with a mental shrug he maintains his smile and gestures, "After you then my lady."

Istas Wraithscar wrote:
She quietly regards the released prisoners for a long moment. "My name is Istas. Your souls hung in the balance while imprisoned here. And the Lady of Graves determined you hadn't quite served out your purpose yet in this life.

He almost laughs however when he notices that the priestess cannot help but try to proselytize for her faith.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik laughs, "Insolence is trying to claim all the credit for your dark prince and his church in a boneyard of the lady of graves on an expedition headed in part by one of the lady's own priestesses. No, no, friend Iñigo, your companionship is not unwelcome, but do not try to make me part of some missionary outreach for your dark church."

"And, adds Jeorik, unable to resist needling the other just a little, "I find it ironic a man of your faith would be interested in bringing freedom to the masses. Perhaps you missed your calling...Cayden Cailean's church I am sure would be more welcoming to a man of your freedom loving nature."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Iñigo wrote:
"I am Inigo. And I pray that this deed removes some of the misunderstanding being heaped on the name of our church."

"I am sure that the prince of darkness would gladly have given them food provided they were willing to sign an agreement to provide renumeration later," says Jeorik dryly though not unkindly, "However," he adds with a certain fimrness, "my allegiance is to the father of the hunt and it is in his name I have made my gift."

"And as for freeing them," he laughs, "I think there is a plethora of faiths that are represented here. Pharasma, Erastil and Asmodeus will each have to share the credit for their follower's actions.""

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik gladly introduces himself (Jeorik Vandor of Ilsurian) and then readying his bow, he says, "I am ready to move out when you are ready priestess. I would guess that you would prefer not to delay in the fulfillment of your quest."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"All I have is trail rations," replies Jeorik, "and I guess Erastil wouldn't take it kindly if I wasn't after sharing what his bounty has provided with those in need."

With a cheerful smile Jeorik digs his rations out of his laden pack and hands them over, six days worth of food.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"There was another exit out of that room in which we chased the Derro," says Jeorik as they finish tending to the now freed prisoners, "Should we check it out before we wander around the rest of these passages?"

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"I don't know Keliwyn," says Jeorik, "You have a knack with locks. We might need you with us."

:)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"I guess you are right about taking them past the snakes. Perhaps we can find an alternate route."

Jeorik helps lift the prisoners from the pits.

"Pehaps we should take them back to the room with the overturned tables. It might be a bit more comfortable for them."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik, upon seeing the pitiful prisoners, says, "Priestess, I know that our mission is urgent, but we should free these people and escort them out of here. We cannot leave them nor is it wise to bring them with us further into these chambers."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I was just waiting for Cabbagehead to attack.

Point Blank Arrow Shot: (1d20+9=22)
Damage: (1d8+1=7)

Still focusing on the ogre-kin, Jeorik looses another arrow. As he draws yet another arrow he ascertains whether he can yet land a shot on the derro.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

CrimsonDM wrote:
Guys, I've a nasty computer virus at home. I'll post once or twice a day from work until it's resolved. Wicht, Jeorik can see the derro in momentary glimpses, but CH, In and K in melee between you and the derro will provide the derro with cover making your shot more difficult. (AC bonus to the derro. Also, missing might have friendly fire ramifications. I was just letting you know so that Jeorik would be clear aboiut the decision he makes. He may take a shot at either CH or the derro.

Go ahead and apply the shot rolled to Cabbagehead.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Just so I understand - was the problem that I could not see the Derro to shoot at him? Because if so, I would have taken the aforementioned shot at Cabbagehead. Or was it that I couldn't hit his AC with a 19 utilizing Precise Shot?

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Listening to Istas, Jeorik aims an arrow at the Derro.

Arrow at Derro: (1d20+8=18)(+1 for Point Blank Shot=19)
Damage: (1d8+1=3)

"Father of the bow," prays Jeorik, "aid us now."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Longbow Attack: (1d20+8=11)

As soon as he sees the Derro, Jeorik lets fly with an arrow.

"I think he's trying to get something angry," says Jeorik, swiftly drawing another arrow from his quiver.

Initiative: (1d20+4=5)

the electronic dice do not seem to be favoring me this morning :/

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I suggest we see what is in pain - could be a victim of the Derro.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Yes, I think we should be following the Derro.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"Lead on, I will follow," says Jeorik, "nevertheless, it might be most useful to try the doors that are not boarded up first."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"That appears useful," says Jeorik and blowing out the flame in his lit lantern, he ties the apparently magical light to his belt, thus leaving his hands free.

Then, seeing what the others are doing, he helps move the table against the door they just came through and putting an arrow to the string of his bow, he asks, "Are we folowing the Derro or do we try the other route? Personally, I think we should make haste to follow before an organized and impenetrable defense can be arranged against us."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik picks up the lantern with interest.

Do I understand right that it is still burning?

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"There was a derro?"

Jeorik asks with thoughtful interest.

"Perhaps we should follow him."

Jeorik takes a moment to examine the contents of the room a little more closely.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"What are those things," Jeorik asks, and then says loudly, "Inigo, fall back!"

In the meantime, Jeorik hitches his mace to his belt and then pulls out his bow, so as to attack from the doorway (and out of the way of the acid) if Inigo needs help.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Assuming I still can when my turn comes around...

Jeorik, seeing his route into the other room cut off, switches to his mace and attacks the snake thing that just bit him...

Attacking with mace: (1d20+4=9)

But it seems that the act of switching weapons kept his attack from being effective.

"Follow Keliwyn!" shouts Jeorik, deciding that he will follow his own advise after those in his way have taken it.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I was just waiting to post my saves when I posted my intended action - and I was just trying to wait my turn... but I guess I can do the saves now :)

Fort Save and 2 Will saves: (1d20+4=15, 1d20=17, 1d20=19)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I attack one of the skull-snakes before stepping in through the door after Keliwyn.

Attack: (1d20+4=12)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I am still waiting on Inigo to act before deciding what to do.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Seeing as how one of the snakes like monstrosities is on top of him, Jeorik tries to move back a step, right into Inigo, which messes up Jeorik's swing.

Sword Attack: (1d20+4=6)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Switching over to his sword and shield, Jeorik begins to move slowly along the room, trying to determine where the sound is coming from. He is cautious lest something pop out of one of the many skulls and take him by surprise. He also examines the ground to see if there are any signs of tracks besides theirs.

Perception: (1d20=14)
Survival: (1d20+5=12)

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

The map, size and all, works fine.

"We need to make sure that there are no enemies left behind us," says Jeorik, "As we do not know what is down here, we need to check every chamber."

My vote is to open the door and see what's on the other side before continuing down the hall of skulls.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"Another door to go through, but be careful."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I vote for first. But I'm towards the back and will follow where the lead goes.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"Are we going through the doors?"

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"Maybe explore the first branch, followed by the second branch, and so forth," whispers Jeorik...

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

I suggest the DM assumes we keep the same marching order as we entered the tomb with.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Seeing that he can't use his long-bow in the passage, Jeorik switches over to his long-spear and shield.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik once more stows his crowbar and preparing his bow he prepares to follow after those who will lead the way into the new passageway.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik steps up to the crack with the crowbar. He attempts a few feeble pries...
Strength Check: (1d20+2+2=9)
Strength Check: (1d20+2+2=8)
Strength Check: (1d20+2+2=9)
Strength Check: (1d20+2+2=12)

Before getting more serious...
Strength Check: (1d20+2+2=17)

If that last one isn't good enough, then Jeorik will ask for assistance and take 20 on the attempt.

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

"Is it a magical portal," Jeorik asks the more magically aware in the group, "And if it is not then force should suffice if applied with the proper leverage."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

When it is clear that the way to open the theoritical secret door is likely to remain a secret, Jeorik helpfully suggests, "You know we could try the crowbar on it..."

(Male Human Fighter 3/ Paladin 2)

Jeorik nocks an arrow on his bow.

"The one we're after is allied with derro, right? Would they perhaps look something like a halfling if seen for only a moment?"

"But maybe we should be looking over this room as well for clues. At the very least we should proceedly cautiously lest there be trapped corridors."

Perception (search): (1d20=12)

Jeorik looks around the room, lifting up his lantern to better see any details.
