Hey all, IRL Name is John - was a VA for about a month in the Boston area before realizing that my wife was going to kill me if I tried to keep it up. Started playing with D&D 3.0 back in middle school but descended back into the old Red Box, and have some roots in Call of Cthulhu as well. Now-a-days, I'm a 3-star PFS1 GM, 3-Nova SFS GM, and run the Starfinder Facts twitter account making goofy Starfinder content. I'd jump in to run, but I'm starting a new job hopefully this week and have (by my count) 6 freelance assignments to crank out in the immediate future, two of which are due in the next 10 days, so I don't think I can GM a beast like the infamous Tome.
Yeah, the evil mastermind? A partnership between the governer of Prosperity, an as-of-yet unnamed osharu spellcaster, and the Griggorim queen living underneath the planet, crafting her own servitor races from her own flesh. The Aspis employees on planet thought they were simply a shadowy place to be conducting technomagical biotech research, but the governer's plans involved more eldritch aims, helping the griggorim in summoning creatures of the Dark Tapestry to the planet. The griggorim were opposed by the other native species, the species that built Stamper (I can't remember if I named them), who had been hunted to the edge of extinction. With their society collapsed, they were living on the run in the tunnels under the city - moving from the stoneworked cities they'd lived in for generations into the unshaped caves further down where the griggorim lived, serving as an underground nomadic warrior tribe in resistance to the Mythos-influenced fleshwarping of the griggorim. Pretty sure I was going to bring back Kindu as an NPC, having been travelling with them after they found him barely alive. So in short, the cover-up and framing of you was to try to keep the existence of the undercity, and the inhabitants thereof, a secret from the populace, at least until the Aspis could finish cleaning up after the griggorim slaughter. Also, I was probably going to have Longshot get found, ambushed, and probably killed? This was not going to be a Pleasant Campaign to be an NPC in.

Thanks, Foxy! I'm still getting a couple games a week IRL, and got asked to be a Venture-Agent for the local organized play scene at a new venue, so I'll still be getting my gaming in - but more and more of it at a table and less at my keyboard. Wishing the team the best of luck, and hope you all enjoy the rest of the AP - Book 4 is my personal favorite :)

Yeah, Ren/Tenzo was supposed to be another connection to the Fevercore mines - but he was also knowledgable about the mystic powers that could be harnessed from the abyssium. He'd serve to help you figure out some of the more eldritch goings-on, especially with the technomancer going biohacker and the mystic player going MIA. The Big Story was pretty well mapped out in my head, so supporting details were pretty easy to link to the greater story.
I know! I had SO MANY OTHER THINGS I was going to try to kill you with! After making you run from Dark Young at low levels, I was really looking forward to the triumphant moment of making you fight one at high levels! *sigh* Next time. When I can get a clone to earn a paycheck while I do the hard work of writing :)
Hey gang, Well, this isn't the "Happy Anniversary!" post I thought I would write... It is my sorrow to say that I think I gotta shut down Incubation Prime. The past year has had a ton of life changes - going from "part-time" (kinda sorta) to full-time, going from engaged to married personally, getting promoted to a Venture-Agent in the local organized play community. This game has been something I've jealously protected because it was purely mine, and I had a smart group of good players and roleplayers who were enjoying the game, and I had concepts and ideas I wanted to explore. Unfortunately, the past few months have been stretching me thinner and thinner and I'm having to make a couple of cuts to things I expect myself to do. The amount of prep to run any game well is a lot, and the work to run a homebrew game to the caliber that I wanted to be running was way more than I could keep putting out. This game has been awesome, thanks to each and every one of you. Jink and Blask hating the turn on Slivvy and their odd affection for one another, Nilan's sudden catching morals when the AAF showed up, Caloo's somehow becoming even more in-character with his perfect switch to Biohacker, and a special shout-out to Glitch for getting almost every single plot point he guessed right - I don't know whether you were just that good, or I was just that predictable, but you were easily batting .750 on your guesswork. I'm going to be cutting down to nearly no PbP for the forseeable future - work is only getting busier, and we need to help my inlaws pack up their house and probably move ourselves over the summer, so my free time is going to get even less free. Thanks to all of you for bringing such colorful characters to Incubation Prime - feel free to ask any gnawing plot questions that were burning you up inside. I knew most of what was going on - most of the plot twists were a mix of pre-planned landmarks I wanted to get to, and improvised methods of getting you there - so I'll be happy to wrap up the story for you in a more discussion-based format.
Quick update on my end: things have been nuts here both at work and at home, and I haven't been home before 10 pm at all this week - and we're hopping in the car tonight to go to my parents for Christmas. We're about to move into combat (DUN DUN DUNNNN) so that should speed along postability when I'm able to get the post together and up. The first round of combat is always the hardest to set up and post, and what you all have set up makes for a few... unique challenges for me as a GM, so there's a little extra work on my end. I'm trying to hold myself to a high quality standard for this game cuz it's my baby, so obviously the past week and the next week have not been great for that mindset. That all said - I know many of you are also probably busy with the holidays, but sometimes having a digital escape is helpful. Would y'all prefer a break until the 26th, or a half-hiatus where I post as I can?

I'll try to get up posts when/if I can, but we're going to be operating at a leisurely pace until the 26th. We're about to move into combat (DUN DUN DUNNNN) so that should speed along postability when I'm able to get the post together and up. So - if I can't get on to wish it day of, I hope that everyone is having a happy holiday season, and a Merry Christmas to those who are celebrating it!
Yeah, just wait until we start getting embedded computers of our own - then not only can you be 'telepathically' communicating with anyone at any time, but (in theory) could be running your own virtual reality from your head. I think wearables and embedded human systems (and then from there, man-made intelligences) are gonna put us into our own Starfinder scenarios sooner than we realize. Assuming civilization can keep it's s$%! together that long. Personal powers list: 1.) flight (Cuz flying, yeah!) 2.) let's be real I just want flying. Non-invasive, non-threatening, would save me a ton on gas even if I need to wear a full insulated flight suit for the commute
I'll be applying this to a level 6 character immediately. Also, looking at the Witchwarper skills, a lot of abilities seem to work around changing energy types - so swapping cold to fire or something along those lines - so maybe we should all coordinate oone energy type to get resistance against? That way we can have a group tactic of "employ electricity" and can have our melee folks charging in while us casters and blasters don't need to worry about not damaging them.
What sort of Playtest character do you want to build? Witchwarper! Do you have an up-to-date 'bot me' spoiler? (Subtle, aren't I?) No! But I can make one! (though this is the first I’ve made so I would appreciate guidance) Will you be willing to bot other characters if I ask you to do so? The regular GM in me says “Yes!” Do you promise to let me know if you get super busy for a few days so we can bot you? Yes indeed. What's been your favorite SFS Adventure so far, and why? Taking my Icon Operative through Save The Renkrodas, where Spoiler:
he became a viral sensation for taking the Gnome Cocktail Challenge, got knocked fully unconscious due to poison, was slapped awake by his party and then befriended the renkroda who beat the terrorist leader to death with her tail. It was magical.
Who are you on the PFS Session Tracker? it me Is there a 5-8 adventure you particularly want to do?[/b] King Xeros sounds great! In Character Questions for the Character you are Playing (especially if this is a brand new Playtest creation): Who are you and where are you from? Matarno Imani, author of the wildly popular infosphere series “Manifesting Your Reality”, lately from Castrovel, embarking on his grand tour. Come up with 2-6 lines of backstory. It doesn't have to be deep, but you should know who you are and where you came from, and why you're hanging with the Starfinder Society. Matarno Imani has been attempting to broker work with the Acquisitives and Wayfinder factions for a while, believing the Starfinder Society’s access to new species represents a great way to reach untapped markets for his branded lifestyle series, a self-help program where he teaches self-actualization techniques. He’s been thrilled to get Radazam’s approval for a trial run as a Society diplomat, confident that his wit and charm will win him future business. What are your favorite things to do? A gentleman never tells. What shenanigans do you like to do in combat? Shape reality to his whims in order to mire attackers in unfavorable situations and enhance allies as much as possible to do the ‘messy work.’ CHRONICLE INFORMATION:

Oh, there were leftovers aplenty. My family always cooks like all 50-some-odd aunts, uncles and cousins are coming over - you can eat yourself to death and still have untouched pies to take home. And we go over to my wife's family tomorrow, so there's a SECOND THANKSGIVING. Feel free to send thoughts and prayers.

Definitely interested! Regular poster, I'm currently GMing a Starfinder Homebrew. My GM references would be Foxy Quickpaw for their Dead Suns run and GM Auke for a long-running PFS Core group (we've gone from level 1 to level 3, I'm gonna take a run GMing a scenario for them). No idea on a character yet :) I'd need to do some pontificating on what I want to make, but I haven't made a techonmancer yet...
Hey! Glad to hear from you, and hope you're under positive stress and nothing too overwhelming. We got married by a good friend officiating, so I probably could have gotten that through, though I'm sure my wife would have scowled and only about 0.5% of the wedding would have had any idea what was going on Stay well!
I can take a turn running - I'm slowing down some on Pbps, and with the wedding stuff all out of the way I have some extra free time, so if you think you want to charge forward without a bardadin, I'm game. It'll just slow down my Zelda playthrough :) Any requests on scenarios? I ran a ton of season 4 and 5 and have some favorites there, but I'm open to anything.
