|Jason Nelson RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4; Contributor; Publisher, Legendary Games|
Consider this your invitation to sit in on a conversation with the minds behind Legendary Games, Sunday morning 9:00-10:00!
We'll be discussing our existing product lines and our planned and potential product lines and specific products for the future. Our panelists will include Neil Spicer, Tim Hitchcock, Matt Goodall, Jim Groves, yours truly, and Russ Taylor, a veritable cavalcade of superstars (winners and finalists) and stalwart contributors to the Pathfinder RPG we all know and love.
This is a chance for you to be among the very first to hear about some of the fantastic new products we'll have rolling out before the end of summer. This is also your chance to pick our brains and weigh in with your thoughts on some of our product concepts and ideas, including which Adventure Paths most need the Legendary treatment... or whether we should leave all that behind and try something really out of this world!
Of course, since we've never been above offering shameless bribes, we can also guarantee that every attendee will leave our panel with some Legendary swag, and one lucky fan will be taking home something double-extra-secret and VERY cool.
See you Sunday morning!
P.S. You can now follow us on twitter @LegendaryGamesJ for the latest announcements and news about LG!
Legendary Games is proud to present our newest line of products, Ultimate Plug-Ins! Not directly associated with any Adventure Path, these incredible products offer fantastic expansions to the hardback rulebook line of products for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game. Who better to bring you these expanded options than the same designers that create so many of those rules in the first place? That is the power to Make Your Game Legendary.
For first product in this line, we present Ultimate Rulership! You think the new kingdom-building rules sound great? They are. But there is more, so much more, from new edicts to population and military recruitment, new integrated danger and kingdom event rules, new buildings and rules for cities, towns, villages, and neighborhoods, royal titles and forms of address, espionage, magical improvements, exotic settlements, and more. Your kingdom-building will never be the same. If you are using the new kingdom-building rules, you cannot miss this product, or the rest of the new products coming down the line.
Available for advance purchase starting tomorrow, June 1st, exclusively from Legendary Games, and in wide release next Friday, June 7th, here at Paizo.com and elsewhere.
Let's have a big welcoming round of applause for the man, the myth, the legend, Tim Hitchcock, with his very first product for Legendary Games!
Tim and I have teamed up to produce a terrific new monster supplement for Legendary Games, following in the foosteps of the terrifying Construct Codex, with fabulous artwork by Jason Juta, Tanyaporn Sangsnit, and newcomer Steve Wood, some of which we've previewed already. This product focuses on the fey and the undead, with richly detailed multipage spreads for each monster packed wall to wall with the kind of lore and attention to every aspect of each monster's personality, ecology, and society that you would expect in an AP Bestiary, if not more.
In addition, on top of incredibly inventive monster crunch and fluff, amazing illustrations, and of course robust hyperlinking, the Coldwood Codex also includes 3 pages of full-color foldable paper minis, allowing you to print and unleash them on your PCs in delightful and deadly living (or unliving, as the case may be) color!
Available now exclusively for advance purchase directly from Legendary Games, and available later this week in wide release including right here at Paizo.com!
For those of you who just can't get enough of Neil Spicer's incredibly detailed pregenerated characters, you will be happy to learn that [b]Conquering Heroes is on final approach/b]! Half the team previewed today, and yet more to come tomorrow!
Legendary Games welcomes to the fold the inimitable and amazing Todd Stewart as our latest author, bringing you his glorious and evocative prose and wild flights of fanciful imagination. Nobody knows the Pathfinder planes like Todd does, and he is ready to break forth some fantastic and fanciful concepts and ideas about the influence of the fey upon the world in Beyond the Bright Veil. Check out today's preview, and look for a foretaste of what Todd's been cooking up in tomorrow's preview.
And now presenting the rest of our cast of characters, the ravening faleich-wyrm, the seductively deadly naekk, the festering slough, the icy and inscrutable totemoq, and the malicious ugrohter, who is pretty much the worst nightmare of anyone that ever pinned a butterfly under glass.
Check them all out at the Legendary Games website, and look for our next preview on Monday!
You didn't think we were only doing one preview, did you? Prepare for yet another onslaught of amazing previews, courtesy of your friends at Legendary Games! Yesterday, we unmasked the upcoming Coldwood Codex as one of our first releases for the Kingbreaker Adventure Path Plug-Ins. Today, we pull back the curtain a bit further and show unveil the first five creatures that will be appearing in this product. CR, type, description... and one more amazing illustration of the fearsome CHERNOBOG. Check it out now at the Legendary Games website!

P.S. The Cultic Cryptomancia final draft has just been turned over to layout, so it should be ready for purchase soon from our regular store partners like Paizo, Drivethru, and d20pfsrd, as well as by direct email at makeyourgamelegendary -at- gmail -dot- com and from our own webstore as well!
I sincerely hope that all the fans of Legendary Games enjoyed our 20-preview blitz in February to let you get a sneak peak at some of our upcoming products (many of which are now already up for sale) and to get a good look at things coming up not too much farther down the road. It was a lot of fun putting those previews together, and I hope you are as excited as I am about our upcoming products, and rest assured there are even more that we didn't get to in that onslaught of previews, because there just wasn't time to cover everything... and besides, there are a few things we just want to keep under our hats a bit longer.
Last but not least, in the interest of increasing the resources we have at our disposal to reward the creators of our great products, we are in the process of putting together our own webstore to allow direct purchase of products from Legendary Games! While we are very appreciative of the visibility and support we receive from our regular distribution partners here at Paizo and elsewhere, we also want to offer the best support we can to the talented people making our products, ensuring that what you pay ends up in their hands. While we await setup of our store, if you have a Paypal account we invite you to consider emailing your order directly to:
Just like our website, but @gmail. In that email, specify your order and we can make arrangements for payment and receipt of your stuff!
As always, thanks for your support and we hope every product we produce helps you Make Your Game Legendary!
Sure, we put out another product today, and if you've picked it up you already know how AWFUL it is... in the best possible sense of the word! But, if you like the kind of cultic goodness you've been getting with Spellbones of the Devourer and The Sepulchral Swaths of Tanoth-Gha, have we got a treat in store for you. Your mind will reel against the full-on metal assault that is the Cultic Cryptomancia!
Check it out. Coming soon to an ancient secret society near you!
Tempting as it might be to bask in the post-release glow of the red-hot Imperial Heroes, that just isn't our style. Success, as they say, breeds success, and so there's no better time to strike while the iron's still hot and announce the first full-on preview for Conquering Heroes! This latest product continues the proud tradition of its forebears, featuring 8 richly detailed pregenerated characters with relationships not only to each other but also to the campaign setting and ancillary characters of the Kings and Kingdoms Adventure Path. Of course, they can just as easily be used in any home game, providing full-flavored NPCs, cohorts, hirelings, or even replacement PCs that fairly pop right off the page. Brought to you by the incomparable Neil Spicer and the artistic stylings of Hugo Solis, the team that brought you the original Gothic Heroes, this product will be a worthy successor to a heroic dynasty. Check it out!
Or should that be, "the Imperial Heroes *are* here"? :)
Either way, Neil Spicer's latest contribution to making the gaming world just a little bit more awesome is here at last. The long-awaited follow-up to his hit Gothic Heroes, Imperial Heroes likewise brings you face to face with eight mind-blowingly detailed NPCs. Not just stats, not just a personal history, but connections between one another and the primary NPCs in the Far East AP, scaling notes for 20-point and 15-point buy, level advancement notes up through 4th level, feats, traits, equipment, archetypes... are we excited yet? ... all woven together with the deft skill of a master of his craft, a real, live Superstar.
We're excited to bring this product to you, and just as excited at what's coming next. More previews just keep coming (last night was our 16th in a row, every business day), more new product next week. It's a good time to be in the market for awesome gaming materials, because you've come to the right place!
As always, Make Your Game Legendary.
After banging out three weeks of previews for our existing product lines, it's time to start talking about our NEW product line, launching soon, probably by the beginning of next month depending on how fast we get the existing products laid out and released. Check it out on our website, where it's all about Kings and Kingdoms!
For your reading pleasure, our dozenth new product preview! From the creative juices of Boomer and Jason comes To Serve a Prince Undying, which doesn't sound like such a bad deal until you read the fine print! Inquisitor judgments and monk vows and new spells, oh my! And MORE! Check it out!
Our tenth preview is up for your perusal and amusal.
Yes, it's got tragedy.
But so does every other Gothic Grimoire. What does this one have that they do not?
For your horrified amusement, we present our fifth preview of our upcoming products, this one for the diabolical treatise on pseudoscience and magical manipulation of mind and flesh alike, the Mad Doctor's Formulary.
It's that time again - a second look at Neil Spicer's upcoming Imperial Heroes, featuring the graceful Saroune, the lovely Kieyanna, the fierce Ragnar, and... well... NURCH!
Enjoy and see you tomorrow with another preview!
If you've ever wondered to yourself, "Just how awesome is Neil Spicer, really?" then wait no longer! Just feast your peepers on the latest preview for his long-delayed Imperial Heroes, finally about to see the light of day and rock your world like only Neil can. If you liked Neil's Gothic Heroes (and, honestly, why wouldn't you - it's got six 5-star reviews, what are you waiting for, go BUY IT NOW!!!), you are going to love this one.
Stay tuned for the rest of the story on this one tomorrow!
After a bit of a baby-related hiatus, welcoming into the world little Liam Wickham and Noah Spicer, Legendary Games is gearing up to blast 2013 with both barrels! Starting tomorrow, new previews every day on the Legendary Games website and facebook page.
Also, a special shout-out to the newest member of the Legendary Games team, someone you just might know. Our long national nightmare (of having no female members of Legendary Games) is over. Let the awesome begin!
See you tomorrow...
You can read about it on our website, but the short version is that we are diversifying our products a bit, continuing to do longer adventures and rules products but also producing some smaller products that we can release with greater frequency. Check it out, and look forward to the first offering, The Necrotic Verses by Jason Nelson and Clark Peterson, being available this week!
Not sure if this has been brought up before, but it came up in our playtest game last night:
Can a mythic character use an ability like Fleet Charge (or any other ability that allows them to move) in the same round as they use a 5-foot step, which normally is the only movement you can take in a round?
Legendary Games is excited and delighted to prepare for your perusal, Meditations of the Imperial Mystics!
Currently in final layout, this product will be available later this week right here on Paizo and at DrivethruRPG for those who prefer to shop there. Following on the heels of two of our most popular products, the magical compendia of the Tomes of Arcane Knowledge and the paramystical rules expansion of The Way of Ki, this product synthesizes the practice of magic and ki, including ways that each influences the other, from magical acupuncture to expansions and inversions of qinggong practice to spells that relate to the living and unliving union of mind, body, and spirit.
As always, we hope you enjoy using our products as much as we enjoy making them!
As described here, our long-awaited Imperial Heroes product has been sadly delayed. Neil Spicer's masterful Far-East-flavored follow-up to his terrific five-star-awesome Gothic Heroes has hit a snag in production, and while we eagerly await its completion and release upon the expectant public, time and inspiration wait for no one!
We are delighted to offer up a final art preview of Imperial Heroes, showing our initial iconic Jin Thiesson in her full-color glory, laid out in lovely fashion by the terrific Timothy Wickham.
At the same time, the bigger announcement is that the sequel to Gothic Heroes and Imperial Heroes is already in production! Conquering Heroes will feature the return of Hugo Solis and his fantastic artistic stylings as well as the ridiculously detailed creativity of the esteemed Mr. Spicer. This is just the product to kick off our latest product line, one designed to accent and enhance any campaign or adventure path featuring exploration, conquest, and the making of kings!
Last session, I added the mythic Invincible and Savage templates to some of the monsters my non-mythic 17th level party was going up against and found two interesting corner cases when it came to DR/epic.
1. A Savage elder lighting elemental gets DR 10/epic, but it also has DR 10/-, which is already better than DR/epic since *nothing* penetrates. I wonder; should there be any adjustment to the DR/epic you get if you already have DR/-. Not a lot of creatures have it anyway - elementals, mummies, high-level barbarians, creatures wearing adamantine armor. It just feels like a bit of a waste.
2. Invincible wraiths and Savage animate dreams turned out to be quite nasty even for a high-level party, since they took half damage from everything except force/ghost touch for being incorporeal and then had the DR/epic (and resistance to all energy types) added onto the back end, after halving.
I don't know if these are actually problems, but it was an observation about the interaction between templates granting DR/epic and creatures that already had certain kinds of defenses.
Legendary Games has a little something special planned to make this Halloween a very happy one for our fans. Check out our website for a deliciously dark new product coming your way from Legendary Games, and that's only part of our Halloween surprise for you!
More to come later today; no tricks, all treats from Legendary Games!
Not quite here yet but on approach is Neil Spicer's Imperial Heroes, the sort-of sequel to his deservedly legendary Gothic Heroes, one of our first products and a fan favorite. If you thought pregenerated characters were weak sauce, you really owe it to yourself to check out this product line, because Neil brings a level of creativity, detail, and depth of personality and playability that will knock your socks off, whether you use these as stock NPCs for your campaign (Adventure Path or homebrew) or as potential replacement PCs should the dice fall the wrong way. These characters are so evocative, richly flavorful, and just downright cool that you could use them for yourself. Every character has scaling notes indicating career advancement trajectory, with alternate stats for 15 or 20-point buy, including notes for ensuring they are PFS-legal, just in case you need an awesome character in a pinch for a scenario.
Just for fun, for previews on this product we are going to walk you through the development of some of the art for this product, starting with a girl named Jin. We'll be bringing Jin to life in several installments in both words and pictures, giving you just one example of the awesomeness that is Imperial Heroes!
Coming your way soon, probably by the beginning of October, is another new Adventure Path Plug-In supplement from Legendary Games, The Way of Ki. Sure, ki is nice if you already have it, but this supplement not only radically expands the possibilities of what you can do with it, but it also opens up the manipulation of the connections of mind, body, and spirit into one wellspring of unified strength for all manner of magical, martial, and miscellaneous tasks.
Coming your way soon, hot on the heels of Matt Goodall's delightful adventure, The Baleful Coven.
After successfully launching our Far East Adventure Path with Under Frozen Stars, an adventure set at around 8th level and occurring during the arctic crossing to the east, we have several products, we have several products percolating and ready to burst into full bloom! The first product to arrive will be The Baleful Coven, an adventure for 6th-level characters by Matt Goodall, also known as YOUR 2010 RPG Superstar!!!
Matt is a recent addition to Legendary Games and we are delighted that he accepted our invitation. His creativity and attention to detail are terrific, and his talents will be a great addition to our company. This adventure is only the first step, but it is a promising one indeed.
The adventure itself is previewed on our website, but in brief it is a dynamic character study in the repercussions that can happen in a responsive and interactive campaign world when PCs are going about their heroic business, blasting bad guys and taking their loot. Most of the time, that seems like the end of the story, but every once in a while PCs come across something else, where revenge takes on a literal life of its own and forces converge to avenge a mother's son at the hands of the PCs and their righteous brigandage against monsters. Tbe adventure is inventive and atmospheric in the extreme, and we think it will make a great addition to not only our Adventure Path experience but ofr any campaign where sentient villains might seek their revenge.
We look forward to bringing you this product and I hope you have as much fun playing it as we did creating it!
