Why not give a Homunculus a level or two of Wizard, and apply one of the +4 ability score adjustments to it's Int? If the construct really needs to be larger than Tiny, just apply the Giant Creature template once for Small and once more for Medium. A tiny Homunculus Wizard 2 should be CR 2, and +1 CR for each size larger. Medium should be CR 4, and if you're looking for CR 5, add one more level of Wizard. Oddly enough, they'd be slightly better suited for divine spellcasting.. Carbon D. Metric wrote:
I wonder if they'd be able to get Q-Workshop to do this. As a side, +1 to your idea. James Jacobs wrote:

And I do agree that this should be aimed at a younger crowd. And come in a box set for under $20, if at all possible. Jason Ellis 350 wrote:

I didn't intend to ask for your whole address. I should have clarified. I was curious as to which city you lived, and mostly asked because I thought it was an interesting coincidence.. No offense intended.

You mention you live in Upstate NY? Mind if I inquire where specifically? I'm up here in Plattsburgh.. can't really get very much more upstate than that..

I was very angry when I first found out about this. Apparently, I wasn't the only one. Looked up some info, and it seems like those who knew Zelazny the best were extremely upset about it as well. Especially, one of his dying wishes was that nobody wrote anything for his 'world'. Quote:
Well then.. I didn't realize they were doing anything with Amber. I'll have to give it a look-see.. James Jacobs wrote:
1) If I had a copy of The Amber Chronicles to your Paizo office, would you read it? 2) Are there any plans, in the (hopefully) near future, to delve into the topic of Duergar, and other 'evil versions' of other races? James Jacobs wrote:
That surprises me actually. I highly recommend reading it. Originally printed as 10 separate books, you can find it now at book stores as one large book. Is there a PF Module, or other product, that explores duergar, and explains how they came to be, similar to what Second Darkness did for drow? Since this is technically a threadjack..:
My favourite magic system actually was from the Dragonlance 5th Age RPG, don't remember the name of the system it actually used, but remember it was essentially a 'freeform' sort of mana-based system. If you had the Pyromancy "sphere", you could essentially create your own fireball, or wall of fire, or whatever your imagination could come up with. It had a system that enabled you to calculate how many points it would cost, and then you had to succeed on a special check of sorts in order to successfully cast the spell. The spoiler is actually the reason I like the 3.5 pp system. It makes me feel like I'm in control, and shape the spell ("power") to my desire. As close as I can get without changing to a system like Iron Heroes, that is.. I don't know why I only noticed now, but there's no polymorph spells that allow you to turn into a vermin. I'm interested in making an npc that has levels in a PrC from a non-golarion 3.5 source involving a druid gaining abilities to wildshape into a vermin.
I'm asking this question for a 3.5 game, my question is relevant to PRPG as well. Let's say a PC just acquired this spell. They can deal 15d6 fire damage with the spell. 1) Is that PC supposed to roll 15d6 individually for each 10' cube? 2) If you position 4 of those cubes so each affects a Large+ creature, do they also affect it individually? These questions came to my attention recently, when a fellow PC took out a Frost Giant Blackguard 8, and his squad of 6 Frost Giants, and a large White Dragon on his first turn. We were 13th or 14th level =/ I'm asking this question for a 3.5 game, my question is relevant to PRPG as well. Let's say a PC just acquired this spell. However, we all know someone is going to end up regulating it eventually, and I'd rather it be the FCC than Verizon or any of the communications companies. The idea of individual companies being able to tell you which sites you can and can't go to, or which ones load faster than the other, because those sites have some special deal with them, scares the ever-loving hell out of me. At least, if the FCC is going to regulate it, I'd like for it to stand up for Net Neutrality. I doubt the FCC would allow shenanigans like the Google-Verizon thing to happen, then again, I could be naive. In the end, I'd agree with Kirth's statement I quoted. This is what I'd like, but I doubt it'll stay that way. Hugo Solis wrote:

[LPJ Design] Working with RPG Writers - A look behind the curtain to see how some really feel about you...
I can understand some peoples reaction to Writer X, but you know, I don't agree with it. Does it piss me off that X is an egotistical self-centered snob? Sure. Am I going to refuse to buy anything he writes? Hell no. When I buy an RPG book, I (usually) don't buy it because the writers were super nice to me, or they think I'm a 'cool dude' (but it wouldn't hurt lol), I buy it because I like playing games, and I believe it will add value to my games. If I buy Supplement X and later found out the writers thought I was nothing more than a mindless peon, sure I'll be upset, probably voice my opinion, but I'd continue to play my game and most likely buy Supplement Y if I thought it were "neat". I do want to stress that you don't have to be a jerk. Eventually, even I'll get tired of it. Every time I turn on the TV or radio its nothing but politics, I guess sites about fantasy gaming have finally fallen to the overwhelming bull crap of the mainstream media. You could have chosen not to click the link to this thread, just as you can choose to not turn the TV or Radio on news channels. Apologies for the thread necromancy, but the second question is pertinent to the game I'm about to DM. Though, my game is a 3.5 campaign, that shouldn't be an issue since the book we're talking about was printed for 3.5. So, what is the CR of the "Lizard King" variant of the Lizardfolk in Classic Monsters Revisited? This was covered in Unearthed Arcana for 3.5, you can find the relevant info here. Gotta love the OGL and d20srd =) ProfessorCirno wrote:
Don't you do the same thing in your games anyway Prof? lol +infinity I'm completely enamoured with Pathfinder, not just as a product, but as a world. The stories are amazing, the imagery is breath-taking, and the people are interesting. The story of Channa-ti was my favorite so far. Since, I don't have any AP's after Legacy of Fire, I can't comment on those. But, I'm sure others will chime in to tell you how much they enjoyed them. Also glad that you've got PF Minis coming soon (if they're not here already, I've been out of the loop lately). Any chance of having bundles of 10+ zombies, skeletons, orcs, goblins, kobolds, etc? Also, you may want to invest in a new whip for N'wah.. How am I supposed to buy his paper-minis if he's not making any? lol.. I'm currently in a bi-weekly game with people I didn't know at first, but have grown to be friends with. Our game is currently 3.5, and drawing near an end soon. Our GM is eager to relinquish his seat, for someone else to take over, and I'm hoping I can grab up that seat quick enough so that I may start fresh with Pathfinder. Also, we do use Gamemastery Maps, and the whole group loves them! I've also just convinced the GM to use the Critical Hit/Fumble deck I bought a couple years ago. He's having a blast with them! Thank you, Paizo! You rock!
