Janosz is happy to head to the market with Runzyl and sell off their loot. "Why on earth would anyone want to give us money to go to a party? Normally, it's the other way around, right? Sometimes I don't get this place at all." "D'ya know what I should do, though? I should try to steer a little business towards the guy who does my ink. I'm sure he'll appreciate that. Speaking of which - now that I have money... Time for a tattoo update! Also, our loot distribution (short version: not all that much) is posted in the discussion thread. "The food and water situation shouldn't be a huge problem as we can stash significant quantities of both inside the tent. However, will the tent itself work normally inside the Mists, if, as you say, magic is unpredictable in the Mournlands? Some field testing seems prudent - and necessary." "We can get to the Mournland border quickly by using Marrius' ship again. It really is too bad that all hose people were present when we docked - otherwise, we could just have snuck out without telling anyone. It'll be hard to convince the Karrnathi Navy that we didn't really retutn to Sharn..." "Keep the kalashtar out of it. They'll just add unneeded storytelling complexity. For what it's worth, I think the formula sorta works. However, it would probably be good if you would let Lightbringer and Rodergo have a bit of editorial input on their dialogue, so that they can put in some suitably uplifting passages." "Also, when did Mr. Verdigris' crate arrive? Just curious." "Selkatari isn't a bad sort. I'm excited 'bout her letter." Janosz turns to the driver. "Drop us off a couple of blocks away. The kalashtar are an aescetic bunch. I'm sure the luxury vehicle will disturb their finely tund sensibilities." Lightbringer wrote:
It was right after we finished the d'Cannith fight. Use the search function on her name, and you'll find it right away. Lightbringer wrote:
Well, verdigris is green... "Um..." Janosz looks despairingly at Rodergo and Runzyl as they approach the scrwaming throng. "Just remember that we [i]can't[I] talk about our most recent adventure. The Aerenal would skin us alive. Try to, um, pick a good cover story..." He shoots Ezreal a worried glance. "This wo't urn out well, will it?" Perception 13+13=26. "We can be found aboard the Crimson Eagle at the skyship harbour", Janosz tells the female elf. "You had her spooked there for a second", he tells Rolund as the party makes its way back to the ship. "She must be a wizard of sorts; she had some spell lined up when she thought you were going after the old husk." "I, too, would like to speak of Jalana." Janosz steps forward, holding a small burlap sack. "I did not know her for very long. However, the time I spent with her was intense, filled with songs, laughter and glorious adventure. Jalana's martial skills and exploits were considerable, as were her accomplishments as an explorer, and I could have spoken at length about ability as a archer and fencer or how her name struck fear into the hearts of her enemies. However, what I will remember the most about her was her unconquerable spirit. During the period I was fortunate enough to spend with her, she taught me that one's life is measued by the deeds one performs - that one should always be ready to fight the good fight, seize any opportunity and grab life by the horns and wrest it into submission. Her bright spirit has made me a better man, and I will remain grateful for this as long as I live" Janosz opens up the bag and pulls out the ancient Seren dragon totem he found on the trail leading to the Grey Cairns; he spent the morning carefully cleaning it of moss and rot. "Where come from, it is customary to leave a token with fallen heroes as a testament to their skill ad bravery. This rude idol is taken from the place of both her greatest triumph and her most terrible fall. If anyone shoud have it, it should be her." He carefully puts the statuette at her feet before stepping back. Diplomacy 13-1=12. I'm with Runzyl here, feeing terribly inadequate. I did indeed say 'choice stuff' - i.e. MW or magical stuff. I don't think we ever found that kind of quality gear, so we didn't pick up anything. Besides the pot of facepaint, the only Seren gear I was interested in was the dino-plate armour - and those guys were washed away by the river before we got our mitts on them. So, we may have gained in experience, but not in coin. And that's OK. Also, I have a Longsword +1 that I don't use. I'll put that into Marrius' payment pot if needed. Aubrey the Demented/Malformed wrote: You actually left most of the treasure behind as you either failed the skill checks to work out it was valuable or didn't even try because you thought it was cursed. Good thing we're not in this for the money. ;P Seriously, though, there's no way I would have gone tomb-robbing in that place, and the ghost gear was all ethereal and thus unreachable. So I don't think we're missing out. "How's the ship doing? Should we stay around and gather more timber?" After a few minutes of silent marching, a thought strikes Janosz. "Hold on for a second. Back on the Eagle, y'know, when Rodergo was casting the bones and divining the future, didn't you say something about how the sons of the Emerald Claw was guarding the Cairns against entering and leaving? Clearly the Seren weren't Claws. Do you think there might be another group waiting for us as we make our way out of here? Perhaps it would be prudent to expend some healing magicks now, despite their decereased efficiency here, just to be prepared if the worst happens." "I... I dunno. What's dead should stay dead. Messing around with the dead seems like the province of necromancers. And if Runzyl's right and Jalana's poor soul is held captive by that cursed witch" - Janosz shudders in horror and rage - "there's no way that she can return to the living. Who knows what you'd get back instead - a demon or a rakshasa?" "Yeah, let's get out of this hellhole. We'll check in with the dragon on our way out; maybe he has something to say. I'm sure he'll want to hear about the changes in the Prophecy or whatever the ghost crone was rambling about." He spits over the edge of the platform. "Touch nothing as we leave. This place is cursed."
