That would be a RotRL AP spoiler. Not really a big one but just to be safe... :
That is a picture of PCs make their assault on the goblin stronghold of Thisletop. A very memorable section of my favorite adventure, Burnt Offerings. Beek Gwenders of Croodle wrote:
Wow, you're right, we've been doing it wrong the whole time! Oh well, RotRL doesn't really give you enough loot anyway. I think I'll actually stick with the way I've been doing it. Beek Gwenders of Croodle wrote:
Yep, they should be able to use any magic items from various enemies. Also note that this works for smaller creatures too, such as Erylium's dagger of returning. I think that this is a change between 3.5 to Pathfinder and a good one at that. Nothing worse than getting a cool new magic item and you can't use it because it's over-sized. Robert Miller 55 wrote: Mine shipped yesterday so I hope to play this soon myself. Personally I am going to treat this like I treat my RPG games, I'll house rule in anything I think makes the game better. People in the conventions around here house rule the heck out of games like DOOM! and Descent, so its not like I am starting a new movement among board gamers by doing so. I don't think house ruling in this game will be a big deal at all. The rules just aren't complex enough to make it a problem. If you were able to house rule Descent without running into unforeseen problems then you shouldn't have any issues customizing this game. Snorter wrote:
If one character dies, it's game over. However, there are healing surge tokens that you can spend to let you go to like half or quarter HP once you've reached zero. You start off with two tokens and I think you can earn more somehow throughout the game. yoda8myhead wrote: Also, there are a lot of tokens and markers that aren't described, so I've got a ton of pieces here and only a vague idea of how to put them together. I had this same problem. I looked around on BGG for awhile though and apparently most of those tokens are for different missions. For example the monster tokens are for an adventure that randomizes the number of monsters you encounter in each tile. I agree though, they really should have made that clear in the rulebook. I tried the solo mission first and it took me way longer to set-up because I thought I was missing what to do with all of those extra tokens. Also, I thought we had seen the last of the Yoda alias now that you're all official and stuff. StanC wrote:
The other one is stand-alone, but the two will be compatible. EDIT: You can check out more details here. Torun Axecleave wrote: It is sad. What also is sad is that Wizards can't find the time to be bothered to make a quality product that can be used for D&D without making you make a horrible face. They don't paint miniatures anymore? I was so excited to see that the set contained 40 miniatures. I was thinking "Surely this is amazing! I can finally get the undead I needed." Then I watched the video and the rage hit hard. Unpainted miniatures. <Insert angry string of incoherency here> I've seen a couple people complain about the minis in this game not being painted. I may be missing something or may be uninformed, but what board games DO come with painted minis? My copies of Descent and Spacehulk both came with unpainted minis.. where is this precedent coming from? The Forgotten wrote: Can I get the AP subscriber discount on a current order if I've indicated that the AP subscription shouldn't start until the next AP? Also am I right that the next AP will feature undead? I actually think your only option for starting an AP subscription is for this issue or the next one, not this AP or the next one. Carrion Crow is the next AP and yeah, it should have a healthy dose of undead in it. You can read about it Here .Pathfinder Wiki wrote: The demon lord Pazuzu (pronounced pah-ZOO-zoo)[1] has claimed for himself the title of King of the Wind Demons. Erylium fell to a REALLY stupid mistake on my part. After a long combat of the Quasit wearing the party down with summons and her returning dagger, the cleric decided to give the sleep spell a shot. I don't know what I looked at, class level, CR or what to determine that the spell worked, but I did. Of course she failed her save, fell to the ground and was turned to squishy paste. Not exactly my finest moment as a GM. Rathendar wrote:
+ a bunch for me too. I actually make it a point to let my ranger players know a couple of good options for the upcoming story. Favored enemy is too big a part of the Ranger's class features to let it go to waste on an enemy who will never show up. Kain Darkwind wrote: All of those characters were interesting, usable and with a good story behind them. Plus varying hooks for how to integrate them with the PCs. The GMG NPCs are great, but more for quick use and combat stats than as recurring or interesting characters. This is why I was wondering if the NPC book would be generic or Golarion themed. The GMG has a lot of generic stat blocks in it. I don't think I really need anymore. However, if this were a Golarion themed book, with in depth backgrounds, motivations and such, I could definitely use it. Or just read it for fun and inspiration. Edit: Yay Lazarus. Boo Post monster. I gained a healthy fear of Beholders from the Labyrinth of Madness. Although everything in that adventure made me paranoid as hell. Honestly though, I think that the most of the horror and creepiness in a game comes from a good GM and more importantly, willing players. If players don't allow themselves to be caught up in the mood then it doesn't really matter what the monsters are. Assuming that you are playing in a home game where you have some creative freedom, I would just file the serial numbers off of the witch. Use the mechanics and re-skin the concept. I'm doing that right now with my "cleric" of Pharasma. As an example, I re-flavored my Cackle ability to manipulating fate and auras to screw with my opponent. In your case, maybe the owl familiar could be re-flavored to an air elemental and swirling winds could be used to distract your enemies (representing misfortune). I've had some fun getting creative and messing around with that stuff. Give it a shot. All of that said, playing a MT is painful. K's explanation above pretty much echos my experiences. Actually, once I'm in the hallway outside of my office, there is a giant spiral ramp that leads down to the next floor. "Chairing" (riding chairs down the ramp) as it's been coined here is strictly prohibited, but I'm sure an exception would be made in the case of lava floors... Devil's_Advocate wrote:

I'd like to see Adventure Paths being an entry on the main page and open a forum containing all the adventure paths. The same thing with the RPG superstar contest years - it makes the main page very cumbersome. I'm sure there are other places that could use this treatment in order to make the main page more usable. Just an FYI, you can use the arrows next to the main forum topics to collapse the subtopics and achieve this effect. Kais86 wrote: I ran one player who was an Inquisitor through this. He did just fine by himself on the first one. The next one takes place in a major city so I made the services of an NPC cleric available to him at standard book prices, he blew through that like it was tissue paper, I didn't even pull any punches. You're saying that you had one player complete the first two books of RotRL on his own?! That's insane! Those that already have the PDF (and a few hard copies) are either subscribers (who receive the PDF early as a benefit) or purchased their books from someplace that the street date was not respected. Yeah, I get it. I'm just being impatient, since my FLGS is among those stores respecting the street date. I don't actually expect them to release it early. It used to be Ravenloft Forgotten Realms and home brew. Now it's exclusively Golarion, as I run the APs. @Meatrace:
Keep us informed on how the Grand conjunction modules go. I played a little into the first module (I think) using 3.0. My memory is a little blurry as this was almost 10 years ago, but I do recall the cultist's glass daggers being brutal. I think they did strength damage instead of normal damage and we were ill equipped to handle them.
