Ivo's parents suffered under the yoke of Zathiske rule for many years till finally being granted their freedom, due to saving their masters oldest sons life. To make a new start they relocated to Oakdale. There Ivo's Father Minas opened a business dealing in relics and artifacts from the The Epoch of Mesos. He was finally offered a position studying and archiving the many carvings and runes decorating the ancient monument which greeted all travelers to the city of Oakdale.

Ivo grew up loose and easy on the streets of Oakdale, and used to hide out in its many taverns listing to the tales spun by travellers and vagabonds whom visited the wild and woolly city. When he was 14 he became his father's apprentice working on the monument. While he found the work interesting and fascinating, he also longed to see some of the fascinating world spoken of by the storytellers of his youth. When the chance came up to take a trip to (Insert campaign starting point)and study the ancient ruins near there he couldn't resist the temptation. Ivo just recently arrived in town, and is looking for a good Inn to spend some time while he learns his way around.
