can I use weapon specialization with the solar connection epiphany for the mystic ? technically is a proficiency provided by my class

i was checking the iconics stats and i founds things like Obosaya having athletics+6 (+3str 1 rank +3 class skill=7) or Keskodai having +9 to mysticism with int+1 (both at lvl 1) what am I missing?

so, my friends and I are going to try starfinder for the first time, I have played PF but they know only DnD 5e. so I´m helping out with a few things. I was looking at some npc/monsters to better understand the ranges starfinder has and found out that I can´t seem to understand the enemy attacks. like a CR 1 npc with dex +4 has a +8 ranged attack or something. please help me as I believe I misread something

Hi guys. I need help mixing a glove of dtoring and a +1 gauntlet. Im not sure how much does this cost or how should i consider the pricing. Since one is a weapon enhancement and the other a wonderous item. Any advice will be appreciated

so, in the campaign I´m playing, we got a +2 fey bane bardiche that my dragon disciple is currently using. and since its a powerful weapon with some story behind (I dont wanna let some spoilers out, so I wont tell more) I thouoght that it deserves to have a name, but I´m kinda stuck, I don´t wanna name it "feycleaver/feyslayer/feychopper" or something like that, so I´m taking suggestions from you people :)

well, i built a ranger/sorc/DD with a bardiche and a spiked gauntlet hoping to enlarge myself and threat 20ft but my GM says that i cant throw a punch with a gauntlet and an attack whith the bardiche at the same time (i have combat reflexes) is this correct? if it is so, should i switch to a spiked armor instead?

hi, i´ve been checking the forum about a cleric with a familiar using it to deliver touch spells and so far it seems it works so what i want to try is this: i cast a spell like harm/bestow curse and i make the familiar the toucher, next round, i use the chaos domain power to make the enemy roll twice and take the worst THEN my familiar makes the touch attack. i know it takes 2 rounds to work but it could be a very powerful save or die against a boss or something like that

so, is it ok? or am i forgetting something?

hi plp, i´ve read a lot of resurrection threads but i cant seems to understand how does the spell work exactly, (i may be retarded or something´, dunno right now >.>)

so im going to make an example to see if i get the spell right

let´s say i got a half elf cleric lvl 11 with the following stats (without magic gear)

14-14-14-13-18(14+2 racial+2 lvl 4 and 8)-12

and he dies because an undead ogre with a pair of rune axes chopped him

somehow, the party finds a a scroll of limited wish and casts resurrection on him
now lets assume i roll an elf on the d100%
now comes the problem

option A: i remove the +2 wis and i add a -2 con +2 dex
option B: i only add the -2 con +2 dex and the mental stats remain as they were

so?

so i was checking this archetype that looks like the kind of char i usually play and i wanted some feedback about it, is it really good? bad? underpowered?
and also:
Elven Arcana (Ex): At 2nd level, an ancient lorekeeper’s
mastery of elven legends and philosophy has allowed her
to master one spell used by elven wizards. She selects one
spell from the sorcerer/wizard spell list that is at least one
level lower than the highest-level oracle spell she can cast
.
The ancient lorekeeper gains this as a bonus spell known.
The spell is treated as one level higher than its true level
for all purposes. The ancient lorekeeper may choose an
additional spell at 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th, 14th, 16th, and
18th levels. This ability replaces the bonus spells she would
normally gain at these levels from her chosen mystery
(bold mine)
this means that at lvl 2 i gotta pick a wizard cantrip and i can cast it as a 1st lvl spell?

i was reading the prestige class thinking of a lorewarden/SoW character and it seems that it does not say if it has prof in all weapons and armors, i checked the forum and i can`t seem to find an answer, so, what is it? because, i could build a lorewarden in fullplate with this combo if the PrC has the heavy armor prof.

thx

hi all
i was wondering if an alchemist throws a fuse or a pellet grenade (from ultimate equipement), do they count as thrown weapons for the int bonus on damage?

hi everyone
first of all im not sure if this is the right sub forum so it its not, prease correct my mistake

ok the thing is, our party is lvl 11 and about to finish the stone giant fortress but so far, trying to recall all that happened so far, i cant find a connection, i mean the whole campaign seems to be like "you are there and something happens, you don`t know why, or who was behind, just go and solve it"

SPOILER ALERT

we just saw an aasimar going crazy and her party, a deathcult sponsored by a lamia, some , haunted houses, and then ogres ogres and ogres (plus the stone giants now) all that connects them is the sihedron rune and lamashtu, so, i dont really know if our DM is hiding too much info or its just that way, i mean we are more than half campaign done and we still got no idea of what we are doing besides killing giants

mind to share your experiences?

hi people, i was wondering if the gaze of flames revelation alouds the character to see throught a obscuring mist or a fog cloud, here is the revelation

Gaze of Flames (Su): You can see through fire, fog, and smoke without penalty as long as the light is sufficient to allow you to see normally. At 7th level, you can gaze through any source of flame within 10 feet per oracle level, as if using clairvoyance. You can use this ability for a number of rounds per day equal to your oracle level, but these rounds do not need to be consecutive.

hi ppl, i know that there are a few threads like this around but i cant seem to find a final conclusion.
ok here`s the deal , i am playing carrion crown and one of the players recently switched his elven ranger for a human paladin with a greatsword. and it seems that theres no way to stop him, we are not powergamers at all, and he can easily land around 70 dmg to any BBEG with a full attack i know that he can only smite 3 times a day, but unless it seems to be a boss we are fighting, smite is not necessary. the GM wants to kill the player specially after certain furry evil dude died in 2 rounds fighting 1 on 1 against him.
so, is the paladin just too powerfull against anything evil or is it just that carrion crown is specially paladin-susceptible?

hi, im playing a ranger 2/ cleric 4 /windwalker 4 (shaundakul prestige class from the FR setting) my idea was to play a battle cleric but i seem to be unable to do anything
the stats are 14(16)-14-14(16)-13-18(20)-12 (i have a belt of str and con, and a headband of wis) i have a holy greatsword+1, power attack, and vital strike.
my problem is that the pouncing barbarian wants me to heal the ton of dmg that he always receives and i dont seem to do much damage so far. i got a scabbard that casts lead blades on my greatsword 3 times a day. so basically i tried to ad a ton of d6`s with holy+vital strike+lead blades but i seem to have the same problem that dps rogues have, i hope that at next lvl with righteous might and furious focus i will be performing better.
any advice would be apreciated

so my question is: does this work as hide in plain sight?
Shadow Well (Sp): At 9th level, you can use the Stealth skill even while being observed and without cover or concealment, as long as you are within 10 feet of a shadow other than your own. In addition, when within an area of darkness or dim light, as a standard action you may choose to switch places with a willing ally within 60 feet, who must also be in darkness or dim light. At 13th level, you can instead switch the positions of two willing allies, each of whom must be within 60 feet of you. Unless otherwise noted, this travel is identical to dimension door. You may use the ability to switch places once per day at 9th level, plus one additional time per day at 17th level and 20th level.

so i was checking the monster manual trying to get the best from monstrous physique for my alchemist, and i found that the best option is the morlock (climb speed, darkvision and scent) BUT i need a piece of the creature that i want to become into, so...how do you ppl deal with this? i know its up to my GM at last, but i want you to share some thoughts/experiences about this kind of stuff, not only from the optimization point, (getting a lizardfolk scale i guess its as difficult as getting a morlock toenail) should i expect magic stores to have this? or my only chance are random encounters or humanoid hunts? (sounds evil to me)

hi all, my character in the adventure path im actually playing had to buy a pre crafted headband of int +2 because we had no time to ask a crafter for a new one, the problem is that the DM decided that the asociated skill on the headband should be radomly generated...and it ended being ride. of course it completely useless for me and i want to find a way to change it, so would it be possible for a crafter to realocate the skill? or im stuck wasting money selling this item and buying another that suites my needs?

ok guys, after a long search i couldnt find anything like a syringe for my alchemist so i decided to make it myself i was looking for something like the syringe spear but small, like the thing the iconic has in his hand.
i was wondering if a wonderous item that applies a metamagic feat could be done like "i load a potion in the syringe and x times per day it applies as an enpowered/maximized pot(healing mostly)" but i dunno how to craft or how much could it cost
another idea i had was a non evil, alchemical version of infernal healing to be used off combat

ps: i know that some 3pp has a syringe with stats but i cant seem to find it

thx

ok i know that this question is kinda stupid but, if i take the talent that lets me take a combat feat, i still gotta meet the prereqs right? i mean, i cant take for example, weapon specialization because im not a fighter lvl 4 right?

ok this is like half a rant, half a discussion, the thing is im playing 2 AP atm, (RotRL and Carrion Crown) both with the same group of friends (one DMs runelords and other DMs carrion)and im not sure if the AP are ment to be like that but we are completely under the wealth lvl, the DM says "its because you are 6 players" but my lvl 6 alchemist barely has like 4k gold, the wealthiest party member has a +2 sword that is part of a treasure (i wont say more to avoid spoilers) but i think that this kills a lot of the fun, no +X items, no magic armors, no money to buy random stuff and the like. is this normal?

hi,

last session our 2H ranger asked about bonus feats, at lvl 6 one of the bonus feats he is available to take is "greater cleave" so he said "if ranger bonus feats need no prerequisite, i can take greater cleave without having cleave right?"
i really don´t know the answer to this (luckily we just reached lvl 5 so we got a few sesions before solving this ;D )

question: lets say my alchemist finds a wizard that can craft a potion the fire breath spel but changing the energy type via feat/evoker power/whatever, using alchemical allocation i could use and reuse the potion with the changed energy all the time i want right? (as long as i have the alchemical allocation formulae prepared obviously)

hi, im playing a ranger 2/cleric4/windrider4 (FR PrC)in a RoTRL campaign, i have currently wis 19 (17+2from item) and i see that with my caster lvl 8 there are a few damage/control spells around but with only a 14+spell lvl base save i kinda find it hard to land one spell of this, so i basically throw buffs to the fighter and barb. and then i go hack minions or help flanking with my greatsword (favoured weapon)
any thoughts? should i try to land spells like hold person or the like ?

ps: the windrider is a PrC that gives full caster progression and fighter BaB

so, i was wondering how this 2 interact, if i can throw more than 1 bomb in a round, can i exale more than 1 cone in a round or can i throw one bomb and breathe the other?

hi, last time we played, my alchemist threw an explosive bomb to an incorporeal creature, and we suddenly didnt know how to apply the catch on fire on such a monster, since its incorporeal, i thought that it could be like 1d6/2 like other types of damage, neither my GM nor I were sure, whats the right way to do this?

hi, i was just reading the thread about alchemist and crafting magic thingies and im not sure about if it is able to use wands or scrolls, as i believe (im at work so my search fu here is close to none) an alchemist can use a wand as long as the spell is on his list but he cant use scrolls because he does not have a caster lvl (besides using UMD)is this correct? or an alchemist can use a scroll as long as the spell is on his list and the scroll is arcane?

hi people

checking the undead traits i find that they are immuneto all efects that require a fort save, this means i cant usea flesh to stone on them? the spell says that it works on a creature mad of flesh so im not sure about this

hi, im kinda planning a character in case i die in my campaign (currently lvl 9 ) i like the 2Prc i mentioned in the title but im in doubt regarding the base class
shadow dancer does not add dmg to a rogue, so i was thinking about ranger(maybe urban) or straight fighter
same with duelist, i was thinking on a rogue/fighter or straight rogue, any tips??

ok I was randomly reading UC and when I saw the djinn feat chains and this weird idea came to me, I could mix a monk of the four winds, with a quiggong monk and the efreet feat chain to make a dragon ball character!
the quiggong would aloud me to kame hame scorching ray, id have fire fists and some fire resistance, and at lvl 17 (kinda high I know) I`d truly become a super saiyan with my golden hair and flight :D
obviously what im looking here is to optimize the fun and not the blasty kung fu thing, so, how would you build this? any other suggestion? (maybe a namek monk LOL?)

ok, last gaming session we had to gather around 60 npc to work in the castle that the party just got, so we checked the NPC chapter of the book and we found that commoners have climb, craft and handle animal, WTF climb??? the DM was in shock!! why climb and not profession?? (for example) he immediately houseruled that they have profession instead, but I wonder...why climb?whats the concept or idea behind that skill choice?
any ideas?

hi all, i`d like to know how could i make or if there is anything around like the one i mention in the title, i mean, a dagger like syringe, something like the iconic has on his hand, i know the only thing alike is the syringe spear but alchemists are not proficient with it, and also i know that eberron has some stuff like this (bloodspikes i think) but cnat find em, any help?

can i use that feat with the bombs? if ican, i guess the dmg does not add to splash dmg or does it?

hi ppl i need a pic of a varisian mindchemist for my new carrion crown game, any ideas?

hi, after seeing tons of build/optimization posts i started to wonder, is it a must o have an 18 or a 20 on your main stat to be effective? i mean, for example, in a 20 pt buy i may do a 16+2 if i need a human/half something caster, but if i make a 14+2, that makes my char useless?
im not trying to troll here or to start a min/maxer hate thread, what i`d actually wanna know is that if the game math is built thinking that the caster will have int 18, the fighter str 18 n so on, making anything lesser than that completely sub optimal

hi, i may be missing something here but i see many magus builds that use a scimitar n dervish dance, but i dont see much difference between this 2 weapons i mention, so, why not a rapier magus?

hi i was wondering what do ppl do with hard to sell/use treasure, specially smaller/bigger weapons n armor, there is no rule or spell that alouds you to change sizes so basically you gotta find a crazy buyer that might want that weird thingie you just looted
e.g a ton of ogre hooks +1 ;)

how do you solve this?

hi, i was re-reading the Prc and I cant find why shouldnt every generalist wizard take it, I know that in pathfinder being a specialist is way better, but even though a diviner or a necromancer (for example and prolly for roleplay) could take it too, the requirements are something that most lvl 7 wiz have so no sacrifice there, any thoughts?

hi, our group is playing RotRL in the forgotten realms and im a C/N ranger 2/cleric 4/windalker of shaundakul 2 right now i need some advice on spell combos and feats from now on, i was thinking about improved crit at lvl 9, any advice wil lbe apreciated

stats:
str 14
dex 12
con 12
int 12
wis 18(20)
cha 12
(weird i know)

feats: lightning reflexes, weapon focus greatsword, shield of swings, track (b) power attack (ranger style)
domains wind (apg) travel

the rest of the party is a grappler barbarian, a 2W fighter, a halfling monk and an enchanter/red wizard

i was thinking about making a bomb focused alchemist and this archetype gets the cognatogen instead of the regular mutagen, thus enhancing the int a lot, is it really better than a regular one at this? the bonus to knowledge seems useful too to find out weaknesses of the about to explode monster
any thoughts?

i was thinking if a magus using intimidate to get the enemies shaken in order to lower the saves or making then easier to hit is worthy? like using cornugon smash and power attack or any other feat chain to get the effect
any advice?

i`ve read many times about an intimidate based melee character being a rogue`s best friend, but the only fear effect that seems to be SA friendly is cowering, all the others just reduce the dex of the enemy, they dont take it away. so..what am I missing?

hi, in my pathfinder game, the barbarian player has the animal fury and lesser beast totem rage powers,so he gets 2 claws and a bite, so it has 3 attacks on a full round no matter how high his BAB is right? and if he has a weapon in hand, he can do weapon-claw-bite as full round? having inproved unarmed strike doesnt add more attacks right? and the only way to get more natural attacks is with other rage powers like a gore or the like?

thx

3 people marked this as FAQ candidate.

hi, i was wondering, the best creatures (sometimes the only ones) you can summon with a SM spell are demon/devils, that is considered an evil act? because if it is so, an evil summoner is way more powerful than a good one

i know that his kind of things have been discused a hundred times but i cant seem to find the right answer, so here is the question, a magus arcane pool can add +X or a property to a weapon (from lvl 5+) but does it stack with a magic weapon or not? for example, a magus gets a +5 longsword, he cant use the pool to make it +6 but can he make it keen, flaming +5? or once the magic weapon is +5 by enchantments, the magus ability is useless on that weapon?

thx in advance
