I've devised a new method to entertain myself:
Step one: Write a bizarre, cryptic note.
Step two: Fold it up as small as you can.
Step three: Hide it where someone will accidentally discover it.
If anyone else decides to start doing this, post your note here. My first one, which I hid in my school:
URGENT: There is a spot on campus which nobody has ever seen. Go to this place and you will find a blind man named Andre. He will speak to you in a language that you have never heard, but you will know what must be done. Godspeed.
EDIT: A second note.
URGENT: Within 1 km of this spot is a building whose outer dimensions could accomodate another room. If one of the interior walls is demolished, a dark secret will be revealed. But beware, seeker of knowledge, lest you make an enemy of an ancient evil.

I didn't find what they left out to be a problem at first, but then I realized that if they had cut down on the slow motion effects and made the sex scene the same length as in the comic (I think it lasted maybe two panels, IIRC) rather than about five minutes, they likely could have included some of the cut material. But the Black Freighter comic was definitely right to leave out of a movie -- it wouldn't have fit.
Also, a few scenes were changed to increase violence, such as the bit where Rorschach kills the murderer. Rather than with fire, he uses a butcher knife to the skull. Onscreen. Eww.
As for the ending, I thought it mostly retained the original ending's spirit and better explained Dr. Manhattan's departure, but the bit with Dreiberg attacking Veidt and with Nite Owl and Silk Spectre not retiring left me annoyed.
But other than all that, it was okay.

Today, I began my Curse of the Crimson Throne AP. This location will serve as a record of the party's journeys in case something should happen to them and they are never heard from again.
The party:
- Maroolat is an Fire Elf Swordsage from Osirion. He spent his childhood as an orphan, but was eventually taken in by a master who trained him in the ways of the swordsage. He has traveled the world since, and recently came to Korvosa, where he was hired by the Guard to track down a criminal named Gaedren Lamm. There was soon a series of assassinations targeting those assigned to Lamm's case, of which Maroolat was the only survivor. The Korvosan guard refused to go after Lamm since, as he wasn't nearly as dangerous before the investigations began. Maroolat was fired.
- Len is a half-elf cleric of Nethys. As a small child, he was abducted from the streets of Korvosa to join Gaedren Lamm's gang of young pickpockets, or "Little Lamms." While on a job, he found a holy symbol of Nethys, which he hid from Gaedren. Lamm soon found it, beat Len badly, and broke the symbol. Len escaped shortly thereafter and joined the temple of Nethys found at the Pantheon of Many.
- Karnak, an Elf Rogue, wants Lamm dead because Gaedren planted false evidence incriminating his brother in a recent murder case. A fisherman was coerced to testify in the trial, then killed before he could have second thoughts and recant. Karnak, looking for revenge, asked around for information on Lamm with no luck, until now . . .
A session one recap will be up later.

How undersized do you think they are?
Not very much, but since I didn't have a ruler handy, I tried to give a scale people would be familiar with. They're bigger than a small sized mini and smaller than a medium sized mini.
Wizards has made some, uh, interesting, size choices over the years. And tons of their undead skeletons must've been from 7 or 8 foot tall humans before reanimation...
That sounds like a pretty good size for human zombies.

Same here. Is it true that Mass Effect also has the same "security feature"? ~winces~ If so, then I will have to uninstall Mass Effect. ~grimaces~
Yeah, its a DRM called SecuRom. And it sucks nine ways to Sunday. It does not ask if you want to install it, it does it automatically. It won't even be removed if you delete the game from your harddrive, you need third party software to get rid of it. It won't let you play any media files if even just one on your computer is illegal. It will even destroy your optical drive if you play certain DVDs.
Uninstalling Mass Effect will NOT remove SecuRom. It can be removed, but it is very complex and requires altering the core windows programming (because thats where it installs itself using illegal characters to prevent removal). Do an internet search for instructions on how to remove it.
And its not the only reason not to install Spore. When you buy the game it comes with a limited number of activations, so you're just renting it three times. If you need to reinstall for any reason (new computer, new harddrive, repairing virus damage, bad internet connection during installation, etc.) you use an additional activation and after three, you can't do it again. You have to buy another game at the full price to get three more activations.
And if you whine about it they can refuse further activations, even if you have them available. It in the TOS.
I really wanted Spore too. It is so disappointing, but I won't pay money for this kind of abuse.
Well, if that's the case, I guess I just had a particularly lucky, nonpainful experience with it.

Here's list of the security requirements (which, fortunately, appears to be much smaller-scale than the original plan):
- You must enter an activation code upon startup. Fairly standard, really.
- You can only install 3 times with the same activation code. I've only needed to do it once.
- That's really all there is to it.

Just say no to splatbooks.
Who said anything about splatbooks? These wouldn't have to be splatbooks. They could be made up completely of fluff, with no game rule information at all, if Paizo wanted them that way.
Though I agree that, if published as splatbooks, these products would be a disaster.
Also, "never-ending flood of crunch?" I see none. New crunch appears to be nonexistent except to support the fluff -- just the way it should be.

That does raise another question, I think I may start another thread, but since PRPG is built off of D&D3.5 SRD which was OGL, how much of PRPG will be OLG?
If I remember right, pretty much all of it. But I could be wrong.
Will there be a PRPG SRD then?
I think (although I can't give a certain answer) there won't be an SRD. The OGL will cover the rulebook; you'll just have to buy it if you want to use the system.

Welcome!
There are a lot of modules set in and around Falcon's Hollow. Here's what I can think of right now:
D0,D1,D1.5 and D4: The basic Falcon's Hollow series.
E1: A great Horror-themed event-based adventure.
TC1: Set nearby, available as part of the Gamemastery treasure chest.
LB1 and LB2: A module set near Falcon's Hollow, along with its sequel.
Unfortunately, there's a gap around levels 3 and 4. The best way to fill that is likely through homebrew, for which I would recommend the Guide to Darkmoon Vale.
There's also some level overlap; I think three of the adventures I mentioned are for level 5 parties.
Hope that helps!

Again page 12. Key suit connects to dexterity.
Key cards: Dance, Cricket, etc. It's all very clear.
And page 12 does list exactly which cards are important and which scenes relate to which card.
The list of cards on page 12 is the group of cards used for the "choosing." Each reading involves one. The later adventures, though, also list a few cards that might be important for the rest of the Harrowing and what they could mean, such as (using #11 as an example because it's handy):
