I am the eyes and ears of the wife he's been cheating on, the long arm and legs of the bail bondsman that he skipped on, and the keen nose of the employer sniffing out the paper trail exposing his embezzlement.
I am the nagging feeling that he's being followed, the bug in his cell phone, the tracking device on the undercarriage of his car, and the unsuspected access to his email accounts.
Although some may question my methods, I'm very good at what I do, and I enjoy nothing more than seeing scum like him get what they deserve.
I'm also available now for hire, so call me the next time you need the services of a private detective. References available upon request.
Background
TODO - I'm "sketching" right now, so please forgive the fact that this is a collection of notes rather than prose.
- graduated with top marks in Computer Engineering from one of the "name brand" schools in the profession (CMU, maybe?)
- went to work doing this for a while (motivation for scores in: Academics, Craft - Electronics, Science - Computer and, in part, Investigation)
- fell in love, got married; over next several years, marriage went from happy and good to horrible; husband started beating on her (note: building fuel for deep-seated underlying psychological need for revenge here)
- at some point, she found out that husband was also cheating (note: building of Investigation and Stealth abilities in order to gather evidence showing this was true)
- freed by discovery of infidelity from final notion of saving her marriage, the next time he started beating her up, something snapped...
- ...and she fought back, beating the jerk to a bloody pulp until dead
- got sent to prison for this, albeit with reduced sentencing of manslaughter with provocation rather than murder (due to evidence of husband's infidelity and multiple reports of his abuse of her over years)
- in prison, forced to learn to really fight back, rather than be taken advantage of (motivates: development in abilities in Awareness, Brawl, Fortitude, Larceny)
- also, while in prison, starts developing interest in occult and "fortune telling" with rune stones
- upon release several years later, now in mid-thirties, unable to return to former profession...decides to become private investigator...in part to help out other women in situations like she had been
- starts becoming quite good at her vocation
- at some point resolves to use her P.I. skills to "fix" another life-long problem and find the father that abandoned she and her mother when she was just a babe, in order to confront him (no, not violently) and tell him what she thinks of him (note: more need for revenge here)
- her attempts to track him down, combined with deepening purity of Vengeance in her being, attract Vidar's attention such that he meets with his daughter and bestow birthrights upon her
- note that there remains, after this, rather sour relationship between her and "Daddy Vidar"; she's not ready to forgive just because he's a god
- upon learning of new Scion's visitation by Vidar, Odin notices her and takes a particular interest, sensing potential for a new völva of the pantheon in her
- subsequent visitation by Odin results in the birthright gift of a real set of rune stones, albeit with the complications of also becoming embroiled in Odin's plots in addition to Vidar's
