Muni, Keeper of Memories wrote:
Ilona's surprise at the man gives way to a welcoming nod, that erupts into a warm chuckle and smile from the beautiful Sarcosan. "Of course you can sit here, but mind Muni, my love's charged him with protecting me and he's found it a more difficult task than anybody could hope for." She extends a hand, her grip stronger and more sure than one would ever expect. "Well met Vryce, I'm Ilona, and my stalwart guardian here is Muni. Don't worry he's likely to do more damage to your ego than your body as long as you're on the right side." Tenebral Knowledge spirits 10:
Ilona is undoubtedly touched by Death. Not a feeling of loss or tragedy, nor a malevolent evil, she carries with her a constant sensation of impending violence but also something powerful and intimate. Death seems to hold her in almost a lover's embrace. One of which she is both aware and welcoming.
"Your friend might consider changing his eating habits though." Muni, Keeper of Memories wrote: "Cheery place." "You could say that again!" Ilona took in the surroundings gaining a feel for the environment and more importantly the strange people that populated it.She looked at the people in read, seeing something of her own coloring in these strange red draped folk. "This is definietly amongst the stranger places we've been, and that's saying a lot" Round 3, Initiative 15
With a shriek of utter rage, Ilona whirls Requiem in a vicious overhand strike while leaping into the air, the blackblade biting deeply into the fey creature. "C'mon you bastaards! Fight me! Blackblade strike1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
Are we rolling to confirm on a nat 20? As her companions rush to her aid Ilona can feel the healing of Gillian spreading through her body and the thrill of battle embraces her, unexpected laughter rising in her throut, accompanied in her head by a booming chuckle. She swings striking the creature Duncan almost decimated. 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15
Requiem1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Ilona feels the sense of dread pass her, simultaneously sensing the ominous feeling along the bond she shared wit Requiem. Looking around at the reactions of the group, she begins to speak, her voice a clarion call that seems to challenge the encroaching darkness. "Fear is a weapon of the shadow. You are what the shadow fears, they seek to avoid facing you by scaring you off, you are stronger than that, we are stronger than that.Fear has no power here, we have already been through darkness and death. We will triumph because it is what we do" Casting Joyful Noise. All allies gain another save on the following round with a +4 bonus vs fear effects. Ilona looks at the growling Dorn and leans in speaking in a dulcet voice yet carrying an undeniable edge. "You should calm down, unless of course your goal is to prove useless as a guide by ruining our chances before we've truly gotten started.I'm sure your liege would be really proud of your contribution if it all goes to hell now." The smile she presents is utterly without guile, yet carrying a subtle note of sarcasm. " Fear paralyses my body
Fear drives me
Dipolmacy1d20 + 19 ⇒ (4) + 19 = 23 Ilona brings Requiem into a guard position, the rush of adrenaline kicking in, slowing everything down. About bloody time Oh shut up! You know you love the thrill of battle Yes but these are my friends. People can die, it's not a joke. So don't let them. Kill everything that put them in danger She could pactically hear the grin in Requiem's mental voice, along with the trhill of oncoming battle. Agreed! Purple flames flared, amethysts shimmering with anticipation. The air seemed to pulse battle energy thumming, infusing the circle. Red eyes flared as she took a deep breath, calling upon the gifts of her beloved's heritage, her adopted mythology. The battle shriek of the Valkyrie filled the air and fire seemed to ignite in the hearts of her allies. Valkyr cry of Courage. All allies +2 to attack and damage, +2 to saves vs fear and enchantment. Ilona stands silently watching as first Solvistania then Sky'tor make thier way back to the circle, fury clear in the body language of each of them. Fury was something she understood, but watching Sky's muscles twitch he's come close to taking an action that could have ended their mission before it ever started. A deep baritone echoed in her mind, the first time Requiem had spoken that day. If he'd have attempted the shot you would have cut him down without hesitation wouldn't you? He didn't. But you would have... ....Question is, how much of that was me and how much of it was you? We need a fight. Soon. That we do The sword chuckled mentally. His grasp of sardonic humor had improved. Looking up at Muni perching smugly on the branch she shook her head. "Is this what it was like for him?" she asked, making her way towards the circle. Sky, Solvi and Muni:
Ilona looks into the eyes of the warrior reborn, and for a fraction of a second he sees the sheer force of her restrained emotion about to be unleashed. The air around her seems to darken, a feeling mode then an actual change in the light. As the ominous sensation arises, Ilona's eyes flick to her right, her gaze momentarily shifting to just beyond her own left shoulder. Suprisingly, a smile spreads across her face her body unconsciously shifting as if someone had lain a firm hand on her shoulder, and the fury seems to evaporate. "Sky, it's good to have you back, even if you do look a little different. If Ragnar and Chops had anything to do with your return then I have no doubt it's for a good reason. Besides, death is not enough to keep Ragnar away from me, and honestly, for him its just something he needs to take care of. Honor them until they get back, live, fight, make the shadow bleed, and when they do come back we'll all have a drink and a laugh and curse the dark bastard's bones." With a stunning smile she grips his forearm and holds his eyes for a moment, before looking over to the branch where she knew the perched Muni would be watching her. "Yes, he was just here, but I'm sure you knew that already."
Ilona walks over to Alan, dropping to one knee to smile at the adorable little boy. "Hi, Alan. I'm your Aunt Ilona and I'm so glad to meet you. Your mom and dad are amazing heroes and they're going to help make the world a little safer ok." She gives the little boy a conspiritorial wink and leans closer whispering. "Don't worry, I'll look after them, I promise." "Duncan Bloodfoged, Swordbreaker Extraordinaire!" Ilona smiles as she steps into the clearing, striding forward and greeting the big man with a hug. "It has been far too long." Looking over to Solvi she locks eyes with her, seeing in them the same pain that must be reflected in her own. Without a word shee embraces the elven woman, pent up emotion threatening to slip. 1d6 ⇒ 4 Ilona came to a stop as the massive tree came into sight, she had been drawn to this place, travelling north for longer than she cared to remember, only knowing that she needed to be here. A lot had happened, much only vaguely remembered, and yet she stood, the years seeming to have had almost no effect on her, until the veiw reached her eyes. Deep red irises seemed to hold a bottled hurricane of emotion, loss, defiance, sadness, joy, rage.... A chill wind blew, tussling her hair, grown almost half way down her back as Muni launched himself from her shoulder, the raven's presence a comforting center in the storm of sensation perpetually brewing inside her. nightflier wrote: Guys, there are some changes to skills that I have decided to introduce to the game. I realize that it is a bit late, so I'll allow you additional week to change your skills and adapt to them. In the meantime, if it comes to skill checks, you'll roll ability checks instead. Here is the link to the Skills document. That impacts me greatly since a large number of my abilities use skills like intimidat aand provide bonuses to specifc skills. Introducing one or two new things at a time makes sense, but overhauling too much and making everything experimental at the same time tends to bog things down as everyone tries to learn the differences and often ends in failure. nightflier wrote:
I have to say, given the storyline, and the likely dark turn Ilona may take this path is pretty awesome. The murder of crows is one of the most visually appealing abilities I can think of. I like the idea of her not only embracing Ragnar's mythology but coming to embody it. I ronically it fits with his theme of his animal companionsbecoming Vigdir, his brother a Midgardi and his beloved a Valkyr. As far as Requiem goes I pick option 1 going for full black blade. I'll retool over the next few days.
