Looking to sell entire Pathfinder RPG collection. Most books were bought and put on shelf... literally like NEW. Make a reasonable offer and you can walk away with an incredible treasure of books. Not playing anymore and these are taking up valuable shelf space where other boardgames live.

I even have Like NEW copy of Pathfinder Online rewards materials. Maps and Emerald Spire megadungeon. A must have for any Pathfinder RPG fan.

Would like to sell to someone local to avoid large shipping costs, but if someone wants to pay that I would consider.

If folks aren't wanting the Kingmaker experience, my other thought is to run Rise of the Runelords (Anniversary Edition). If that were the case, what suggestion for a PFS scenario might you have?

Liberty's Edge

I am just staring another game group and wanted to run a one shot using Pathfinder to gauge interests before we commit to location in Golarion, type of campaign, etc.

Group wanted to start off with 6th level characters so that they'd have a better feel for things rather than 1st level. These would be throw away since we'd start off at 1st level once we decided on a campaign.

Any tips would be appreciated. Some of the group is interested in running Kingmaker, so is there any PFS scenario or Module that might be a great lead in for that AP? I did some checking and only found a couple of early Season scenarios located in the River Kingdoms.

Thanks for the help!

Hi all - If anyone is needing a slot for the PFS Gen Con Special: Legacy of the Stonelords (Season 5 Conclusion)... I just gave up my slot. Not sure how long it will be there, but hopefully it'll make someone happy. I haven't played any of Season 5, so I am going to skip and play in the Season 6 kick-off instead. I figured I could try out some Shadowrun for Friday night in place of the Season 5 Conclusion. Hope that goes well.

Couldn't resist the out of context Chappelle Show reference....Rick James' ring imprint on Charlie Murphy's forehead.

I think I get what you are saying here Ryan...Essentially you want something that says, "hey gamers, we've built the foundations of this virtual world [The River Kingdoms] and so the road ends here...now it's time to 'find yer own Path!'"

Just not sure how to embody that exactly. How about this as food for thought?

Pathfinder Online: Dawn of Civilization
Pathfinder Online: Age of Exploration
Pathfinder Online: Age of Development
Pathfinder Online: Charting the Path
Pathfinder Online: Uncharted Territories
Pathfinder Online: Uncharted Lands
Pathfinder Online: Settling the Lands
Pathfinder Online: The Time of Settlement

1 person marked this as a favorite.

How about one of these names for the initial launch?

Pathfinder Online: Origins
Pathfinder Online: Beginnings
Pathfinder Online: Foundations
Pathfinder Online: The Founding
Pathfinder Online: The Dawning
Pathfinder Online: The Settling
Pathfinder Online: First Settlers
Pathfinder Online: Prologue

Thornkeep: Origins
Thornkeep: Beginnings
Thornkeep: Foundations
Thornkeep: The Founding
Thornkeep: The Dawning
Thornkeep: The Settling
Thornkeep: First Settlers
Thornkeep: Prologue

River Kingdoms: Origins
River Kingdoms: Beginnings
River Kingdoms: Foundations
River Kingdoms: The Founding
River Kingdoms: The Dawning
River Kingdoms: The Settling
River Kingdoms: First Settlers
River Kingdoms: Prologue

** Edited... removed Epilogue as it isn't about the end but rather the beginning of the Pathfinder Online and River Kingdoms story.

My personal favorite is Pathfinder Online: Prologue
It captures the narrative aspect of the PFO and I believe gamers understand what it means. Gran Turismo did it with GT5: Prologue where as the FINAL version of the game released sometime after. I think it sounds better than Pilot personally.

Looks like this must have been a typo. You can navigate to Sylphs this way. I'll see about getting that fixed up.

Ya, just noticed that myself this evening. Still has the error in the link.

I just recently learned about Roll20 (link. It's a free (thanks to Kickstarter) browser based virtual tabletop that has managed to put together a pretty impressive set of features. Compared to other tabletops I've personally used, this one is my favorite.

What do the rest of you out there use?

Fantasy Grounds...only thing that could be improved is mapping tools. I know that they are working on improvements in future versions.

Although I like the new design, I truthfully prefer the color scheme used for the Pathfinder RPG logo (brown and yellow w/ red). Just my 2 copper.

It's kind of Unreal to see things get going this quickly. I'm sure that once everything gets setup in the temp offices you guys will have things running like a finely-tuned Engine. After all, having Four additional developers working on things will speed things along nicely.

I'm kind of curious how much of things like class design, economy (profession chains), the contract system, dynamic content, and all of those topics will be at least partially built up enough to give us kickstarters a glimpse at what the final product will entail.

hehe... nice! Am I the first one to notice your hidden encoding? I'm no expert on this topic, but I was looking at UE4 Elemental demo and it was pretty amazing!

I was a bit disappointed to hear that you guys didn't land the deal you were hoping for (makes me think that the chosen solution isn't as ideal for your vision)... but I'm sure you'll produce a product worthy of the Pathfinder brand! Looking forward to the demo or whatever preview you guys come up with to show off your early work.

Can we please return darkness to the mmorpg genre? I mean real darkness not this constant twilight that present in today's mmo's? In EQ, I remember the exhilaration of going to places like Kithicor Forest, The Feerott and Innothule Swamp (as a human) and not being able to see much more than 5 feet in front of me. Was it terrifying at times? Sure, but I'd had friends with spells or night vision that would act as my guide so I could make it from place to place, and sometimes without dying!

I really like the way that The Witcher handles lighting and the significance of what you can do in the evening vs. daytime. i.e. normal business is closed at evening times, certain quests only can be accomplished at night, etc. I think it has REALLY added to the realism for me as a player. I realize it isn't an MMO but was hoping that PFO was going to include lighting as well. Oh well.

Noticed that the website for the podcast has changed locations and can't find the character build for Episode 8. It was called Order of the Viper. Can someone link me to the example sheets etc. for this build?

It was discussed at length in this podcast in Episode 8: Kingmaker 1 Stolen Land with Tim Hitchcock.

Thanks!

Here is the direct link to Episode 8

Here is a link to the actual Chronicles: Pathfinder Podcast Home

Got it...thanks for the quick reply and confirmation on that. In any event, they are fantastic looking pieces (those previewed so far) and I'm looking forward to receiving my case later this year.

Oh and by the way, it is an honor to have you reply to my post! Everything that you guys put out continues to impress me.

So my only question is about the base. I've seen different images showing clean bases with miniature mounted directly to it and more recent ones with round little stand-offs that feet are mounted to. Which will it be? I wish it were the former, but I'm guessing the newer pics are likely to represent the finished product.

Liberty's Edge

Insanely jealous that I wasn't there. :-( Glad to hear that it was a success though. Looking forward to some video of the event.

I'm not sure if it is against this forum's rules to leave e-mail addresses in a post?

If not, skrondo, z28camero90, (and anyone else) just mention your e-mail address in this thread and I'll e-mail you my conversion.

I have:
- MS Word Document 1: a quick blurb on 4e races & gods, using skill challenges for exploring, and 4e conversion of the random encounter table.

- MS Word Document 2: conversion of encounter areas.

By far, the most difficult conversions have been the fairie races (e.g. Nixies, Grigs, etc) as 4e doesn't seem to have ANY monsters that remotely resemble these (yet...).

Hey there...I'd be very interested in your work. Much thanks! Yahoo Mail account. Hyefam

I can tell you that the third printing was done with a different printer.

Hi Lisa - Thanks for the insight on that, as I was wondering where the differences I was seeing had come from. I have a second printing of the core rulebook and the third printing seems to have a slightly different color hue throughout. Mine appears to be "warmer" which I personally prefer and matches the Bestiary and GameMastery Guide. The third printing also has standard paper on the inside and back covers rather than the glossy stock. Nevertheless, these are just nits and otherwise it is a beautiful book and should be on any respectable gamer's bookshelf.

I've been following this topic on various boards and personally my preference is FGII over D20pro. In my book, the interface just suits me better and has much more of the feel of real table top elements. I hope the folks at Paizo take their time to make this decision and not make an exclusive deal but rather stay open to supporting all the major tools out there. That would stay more consistent to what seems to be the company philosophy around open content.

Anyone who tried all the major tools (map tools, FG, battlegrounds, others?) willing to elaborate on the relative strengths and weaknesses of each program?

I heard/ read quite a lot about each individual tool, but barely know anything about how they compare, their compatibility, their optimal area of use and of course how widespread they are used (e.g. by you Paizo board visitors).

I'd really like to get to know a bit more apart from the obvious: the price. ;-)

Thanks in advance!
Guenther

Glad to hear someone say this. Is it really about price still? I just don't buy that argument(sorry for the pun)... how much money do most of us shell out on a regular basis for our gaming products but yet there is a pause when asked to spend ~$30 for a perpetual license to play the games we love? I will admit that there are definitely features around the map/combat that could be improved on FG compared to its peers... but let's drop the "Free" argument.

Liberty's Edge

Okay... I've been reading a bit on this topic and figured I'd weigh in. To start - I'm a Fantasy Grounds user and PC owner. I personally thought that WotC was the only company to make a mistep on the electronic gaming strategy (now infamous DDI virtual gametable & encounter builder), but now I've concluded that Paizo is following close behind. Come on guys... seriously... don't make business decisions that cater to a very small segment of the population. I thought you guys were progressive and all inclusive. Just license to everyone!

Life is busy and many of us gamers are no longer highschoolers with plenty of time on our hands to RPG with our friends. Rather a large proportion have jobs, families, etc that we have responsibilities to and electronic gaming via VTT is our alternative to traditional face-to-face tabletop games.

I've heard from the new developer for the Fantasy Grounds virtual table top software that he is in discussions with Paizo to publish a PF ruleset. Just wanted to voice my support for making this happen. Two great tastes that would go great together.

I echo this sentiment!! I don't have a group to play Pathfinder with at present, but would DEFINITELY be subscribing to content if I were able to have it usable in Fantasy Grounds. Please make it happen, Paizo! ;-D

The PDFs don't lock the images... so if you were to get the PDFs.. or just the PDF of the map folios, putting them into Fantasy Grounds yourself would be super easy.

I personally like Fantasy Grounds (FGII) over other tools I've tested out, including the RPTools suite. For me it was the FGII interface and how it captured the feel of playing a paper-based game - not to mention the dice roller is second to none. I honestly don't get the $ argument because we all know how much we spend on gaming products and supplies in a year.So $20 doesn't sound like too much for a product that looks and plays that good? That said, everyone is different and gravitates to what they feel is worth it to them. To me, FGII is worth every penny spent.

In the end, I think that Paizo could make something work for both SmiteWorks, maker of FG, and RPTools in 2010.

Hi!

I would like to find a group that plays Pathfinder using Fantasy Grounds. Is there anyone out there who does?

My time zone is GMT +1, which is good for late-night West Coast gaming, early morning European groups or late-afternoon/evening players in Asia/Australia.

Been thinking about creating some simple Pathfinder adventures, if necessary, to get something going. Would eventually like to join a group that's trying an Adventure Path.

I am considering this for myself and am still investigating what the frequency of games and locations are. I am GMT -8.
