"Remember me as a peace-make.... BRAINS!"

No death yet, just been out with a sick 3 year old for the last four days, which cut my internet time down to nothing. I think I'm going to withdraw from this game. I need to cut down my PbPing to a more manageable level and this game keeps slipping off my radar. Apologies, feel free to kill Hruskin or hand him off to another player or NPC him as needed.

Thanks!

Hey, if you find goblins sexy, man, than that's YOUR thing. I have no comment on the matter..

DM Dhakann wrote:
Sorry guys, my second income maker totally exhausted me, so I fell a little behind. Hruskin, were you healing or assaulting undead with your channel? Drexel, someon picked it up, but no one attached it, so it should be carried currently.

Assaulting. I'm a shoeless god of war, man.

Hruskin will hold aloft his hammer and call upon the power of Onatar for aid.

Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8

DM Dhakann wrote:
From around the corner 100 feet down the corridor, you see several hobgoblins come around the corner dressed in ancient armor. They appear to be shambling though.

"Abominations! Corruption of honorable hob!" Hruskin snarls in indignant rage. He raises his holy symbol and prepares to channel the fury of Onatar!

Init: (IC is down) Rolled on my honor: 18 +2 Dex = 20

Drexel Morrow wrote:
Heh, this is starting to remind me of a rogue that I had that I dont think ever successfully found a trap in his entire carrier. Of course that may be partially the fault of the DM that I had at the time

We had an NPC early in 3rd edition called Bob the Disposal Rogue. He found traps mainly through springing them after missing his search checks. We went through 4 incarnation of Bob. Poor Bob. He would steal anything not nailed down, which meant he accumulated quite a bit of treasure, but the rest of the party was too lawful to loot the dead, so he was subsequently buried with his loot.

DM Dhakann wrote:

You sure you don't mean Haruuc? He's the rogue...

Hruskin is TOTALLY not cool with being out front. Not the rabbit, not the rabbit...

Drexel Morrow wrote:
Anyone else have any suggestions?

Hruskin scowls and stares at the ground. "I'd rather not be the rabbit..."

Hruskin follows behind, clutching his hammer nervously and eyes casting around for danger.

"Well. I guess regardless of how far back we've gone, our mission is still the same, right? Get the artifacts and the honored dea... honored warriors back home, right?"

Hruskin stands away from the hobgoblins and their imminent power struggle. He stares into the distance, finally piping up, "Not to intrude on this happy event, but do we know if we've gone back in time or for'ard? And if so, how far either way?"

Hruskin sits up, looks around and begins to pray to the Forgelord. He lights a small fire, kneels beside it and asks his god for guidance. If he recieves none, he stands, bows deeply to the newly risen, and say: "Gracious warriors, I am Hruskin Geldaar, forge priest of Onatar and humble servant of Dhakaan."

DM Dhakann wrote:
Also, we're 700 posts into this game, I just shook things up a bit, go ahead and level up to level 3...you're going to need it...no the hobgoblins that are moving are not undead...so don't go off half-cocked and kill all of them...

Do you mean 4th level? We are already 3rd.

Hruskin props himself up and gazes around the field. "By the Forge, what is this place?!?"

Healing for them what need it: 1d6=1, 1d6=2, 1d6=3, 1d6=3 That's channel energy for a total of 11 healing to anyone close.

As for the restoration, Hruskin will prepare 2 lesser restoration spells as his 2nd level spells in the morning, as he has already cast his only one on himself to attempt to stave off death...

Edit: 2 more channel energies to add: 1d6=2, 1d6=5 7 more healing for a total of 18 hp's worth.

Lesser restoration restores 1d4=4 to my worst ability damage.

DM:

Spoiler:
So I'm down 1 Dex and 1 Con, right? If so, Fort save for the next time you need it: 1d20+3=6 Durnit.

Hruskin did heal as many people as he could, burning all his spells for cures if need be. If this is a new day, he will cast less restoration on himself in order to stave off death...

Fort: 1d20+4=10

"Aye, I can heal them what need it." Hruskin will also use a Heal check to see who's afflicted and why.

Heal: 1d20+3=8

Hruskin sees the last warforged drop in front of him and sighs as he thinks of the many hours of craftsmanship that went into making each foe. Hearing the call to flee, he runs, moving as fast as small legs can carry, sparing a glance back to see what follows.

Perception: 1d20+3=22

Still here. Just got internet back for my new home. Moved halfway across the continent and took a little while to get back to normal. 'Net's back on and all is right with the world...

Hruskin rolls with the pain of the strikes and gasps, "Onatar's blasted hearth take you, ye crooked mistake!"

Attack with Artificer's Touch and damage: 1d20+3=14, 1d6+1=6

Spoiler:
Hruskin readies an attack to touch attack with Artificer's Touch the first 'forged to get to him: 1d20+3=15, 1d6+1=4

Hruskin continues his song of praise to Onatar for the fallen wolf and fires a bolt of flame at the nearest 'forged: 1d20+5=21, 1d6+1=7

Hruskin notes the scene and begins singing a Goblin dirge for the Honored Dead as he takes aim at the next Warforged and unleashes' Onatar's burning light upon him.

Attack and Damage: 1d20+5=21, 1d6+1=5

Hruskin will move if he has to (up to 20' to get close enough to use his fiery ray of fiery death): 1d20+5=20, 1d6+1=2

Tired of waiting and more than a little curious at the missing foe, Hruskin will take the time to move slowly and cautiously off the rooftop and toward the breach to see what's what.

Stealth: 1d20+11=31 I am the wind. I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar.
Perception: 1d20+3=22

Hruskin will take a position atop the building at the corner, ready to throw fire where it's needed.

Haruuc Dhakaan wrote:

Drexel can lead one search party and Haruuc the other. Given current attitudes, I would probably say Drexel & Ur-Kaim in one and Haruuc & Hruskin in the other, with Brignat up on the wall as he is.

Haruuc walks over to Hruskin and motions for him to follow, before starting off to scout. "You two head that way and we'll go this," he points. "Come on little one."

Hruskin follows along, his eyes sweeping the haunted city.

D20: 1d20=6

Hruskin will take a few moments to scavenge the city's forges for anything of value or use, using Detect Magic to aid him: 1d20+3=8

Hruskin, who has been quietly following, as is his way, says: "Maybe we could secure transport in either the airship tower or the lightning rail depot? Sure they might have some sort of smaller craft we could commandeer?"

Hruskin nods at this. Dying is not honor unless someone can sing your end.

Hruskin will offer to craft a sling that will hold it on you without needing your hands. A harness of sorts.

Craft: armorsmithing: 1d20+9=23

He could also use artificer's touch to mend the breastplate if you'd rather that?

While everyone is gathering bodies and gear, Hruskin will set about polishing the undead hobgoblin's armor while leaving the tears and wounds so his daughter can see how valiantly he fought before he was slain.

well nothing else really seems all that interesting :/
Yeah not much really appeals to Haruuc either. And the only thing that really did was too small. :(

Hruskin could make the mithral shirt into a mithral bikini for you? Show off a little thigh, maybe?

"It's an efficient quiver! I've heard of these, seems like a useful thing for archer types. And this here, I can't be sure, but it seems to be a bag o' holdin'. I s'pose whoever carries the spoils ought to carry this?"

Can I use craft weaponsmithing to know something about targath?

Craft: 1d20+9=22

Drexel Morrow wrote:

I will probably update to lv 3 at some point this afternoon, I am wrestling between going another lv of Ranger or a Lv of Fighter. No appraise on the Targath Dagger Hruskin?

I don't think the targath dagger is magical. Targath's a special material.

I'd be interested in the following:

Spoiler:

Small Mithral Chain Shirt (I can wear it!)
targath dagged (mainly just to study it, then someone else is welcome to it)
Magic Pouch (just to identify)
magic quiver (just to identify)

That's all for me!

Appraise checks on the pouch first, then quiver: 1d20+7=8, 1d20+7=26

No good on the pouch, but I can probably identify the quiver!

"'Ware! He's not alive!" Hruskin steps back about 10 feet, keeping his eye on the undead hob.

Hruskin will let the spell elapse when he realizes the DM really really doesn't want him to use it and jogs to catch up with the others.

"That's what makes this place such a hell; the dead cannot be forgotten and living can't die in peace."

Hruskin will keep his Detect Magic eyes on.

Hruskin will move among the dead, casting detect magic and checking the warforged for any particular maker's marks.

Drexel Morrow wrote:
Didnt (the Bard lady, insert name here) tell us that healing didnt work in the mornland? Isnt that why she gave us those good berries?

Well twist my sparrow! Hruskin and I both forgot. Still, it's what he'd try...

Hruskin moves to H6 and prays to Onatar to spread his healing heat, and then channels positive energy, healing his comrades.

Channel Energy: 1d6=1

Doh! I'll heal you guys for more in a bit, I promise!

Hruskin fires another ray at the Mouthy forged and moves ten feet to the left, dodging!

Attack and damage: 1d20+4=16, 1d6+1=7

Hruskin scans the area, moving to within 30 feet and firing at the nearest enemy using his fiery ray!

Perception: 1d20+3=18
Attack (ranged touch)and damage: 1d20+4=23, 1d6+1=7

Hruskin abandons his bedroll, shoulders his pack and scatters into the night.

Stealth: 1d20+8=16

DM Dhakann wrote:
The party watches the light, it moves amorphously, on the top of a rise close by it seems to flare again then stop for a few moments, possibly to eat? the colors are dazzling though, leaving black spots on your eyes if you stare for too long...

Hruskin growls. "Whatever that is, I don't expect we want to be around when it gets HERE. We should go. Push forward and leave that thing behind."

As always, Hruskin rises before dawn (if dawn exists in such a cursed place) and sets his enemies on fire, praying before beating them.
