Temporarily changes his name to HIERARCH OF TEXIAN NATURALISM

SMITE!

This thread LIVES!

The master will be pleased...

Just looking for an excuse to do my HoGN schtick...although, weren't some of the first D&D minis also plastic? Gary grabbing whatever he could to use invent the game? I'm looking at the bulette and the rust monster...

Goes back and forth upon the earth, seeking whom he might SMITE.

houstonderek wrote:

Sorry, but our God has NOTHING to do with D&D minis. They are from an apostate branch of the Church.

Sheesh, they'll let anyone be an apostle these days...

REPENT, BLASPHEMER!

Know ye not that our game came about because the Great Gygax liked playing with little plastic toys on maps!

CourtFool wrote:
I always wondered why a priest made a better fighter than the rogue.

Let's find out.

SMITE!

Insults? Anecdotes? I assert everything. By my assertion, their proof is thereby created. I have no need of some lesser support.
Gygax, smite the unbeliever!
And if I call you an unbeliever, why are you insulted as you persist in your unbelief, nay, as you revel in it as if it were a nasty, peed-on, flea-infested doggie bed?

Spoiler:
Yes, that last question is rhetorical.

What will you do in exchange for help, Kobold Spirit?

Then you have plenty of time to explain yourself.

A counterspell for what? Are you saying you are not working against the MegaPoop?

I'm a Gygaxian hierarch...think of the powers that come with access to all Gygax grants.

Depending on your purposes, I may be able to help you...if you care to explain yourself, Demon Tribble.

Are you preparing some spell to undo the MegaPoop? What are you up too? I conjure you, answer by the name of Gygax!

I say HOLD, Demon Tribble. I must speak with you.

Hold, Demon Tribble. Explain to me your purposes regarding the MegaPoop.

Kobold Cleaver wrote:
Be careful. I have reason to believe that he is trying to do more than simply undo the Archpope's spells. Be wary!

Wait, he is screwing with the Megapope?

SMITE! poodle
Restore Holy Book.

All non-Gygaxian latecomers to this thread need smiting, so...
SMITE!
SMITE!
SMITE!
SMITE!
SMITE!
SMITE!

I'm doing the electrical work!
A storm suddenly appears above the work site, and 15 bolts of lightning in rapid succession leave the lumber and equipment in fiery piles of divine judgment.

It is a sad day. Unable to unite our worshippers to support the temple, we watch as it is taken over by an upstart cult. Gygax weeps.

Another heretical cult?
SMITE!

I'd resign my position and cease all Sebastian worship if he'd come back..

I believe you have a vow to fulfill, infidel!

Heretics and blasphemers !

Repent before it is too late...

It IS too late!

SMITE!

Notice that the inspiration behind the shirt was a nomination. I think the person(s) who made said nomination should get a free t-shirt.

As the Leprechaun says:
Pathfinder RPG,
It's naturally Gygaxious!

All the way back in 1st edition, the very rare 1st printing of Deities and Demigods (or was that 1st printing Legends & Lore) has Cthulhu's stats IIRC. Good luck finding that one, but for AD&D that's the only source I know of.

It pops up on Ebay pretty regularly, you just have to be careful which printing you buy (there are online guides that'll help you there.)

Hooray Gygax!

Bow down, lesser beings!

Where's my pony?
Fret not little girl! That's not the real Sebastian! Beware of impostors!

I SMITE THEE, worshipper of a false god! Begone!

Blasphemer!
Wipes powder from face.

Prepare for Judgment, Blasphemers!

Sebastianity is a false cult! Repent!

KEJR - Is it true that the Thanksgiving Scorpion is a Herald of Gygax?

High Priest of Sebastianity wrote:

Oh, a picnic! Let us partake of this picnic-y goodness in Sebastians name! Amen :)

lol, come on Sebastian.. it's a picnic.. you know you want that snak-pack..

In the name of Gygax, begone, ye foul worshipers of Sebastian!

Hearken unto me!

????

Noisily scarfs down pulpy goodness of thread.

Most impressive...so...anybody come up with an appropriately impressive title for the Temple? Up or down on any suggestions?

Maybe they could have different uses?

Like, The Crimson Joker produced a solid Gygaxian ecology.

But, That Mairkurion sure is a militant Gygaxist.

Joker? Listen Hierarch boy get in line, I have tons of people waiting to insult me and I don't need your simple responses to get on my nerves no not at all, don't need it, don't need it one bit....what was I talking about?

{Whoops.} Jester, or as I can see from your recent elevation, O Lord of Rogues. {Freudian? Jungian? Gygaxian? Looks like we were both having trouble...}

EDIT: Do you hear a metallic sound in the background? Perhaps there is some cyborgic distraction that is interfering with communications in this thread.

Here is another thought: Gygaxism sounds like a specific noun. Should there also be an abstract? Gygaxity.
Adjectives:
Gygaxian vs Gygaxist

We encourage grandiose designs and in-fighting. We may be assimilated, but in the end it will not matter.

We are currently taking suggestions on where to build our temple - please reference the OP as to our requests.

I would also like to table a motion to introduce a third axis to the alignment grid: Gygaxism.

Why table it? It is a grandiose design.

I'll wup your hiney at chess, so don't even try it.

I'm the OP, and seeing as his post strokes my ego, it can be nothing short of sheer genius. This is why you fail.

You have made a terrible enemy, you flea-bitten curr! You will know the true meaning of fail when you are enveloped by the embrace of the Ancient Elemental Darkness...

Don't listen to that priggish, donnish leaf man. He can't even play chess, based on the times I have played him. He just waited until the thread was winding down to blow in.

The Elder Elemental Eye appears to be on a meditiational retreat. When he returns, let us discuss construction of a temple. The Temple of Elemental Gygaxism?

Gygaxian Naturalist, I bid you gygaxian greetings.

Well, E.E.E., where is the local temple?

A friendly word, Apostle of Gygax. Desert these Reddish Groomers of Sundry Critters and join the Temple of Gygaxian Naturalism, aka as the Temple of the Elder Eye. Their doom is assured.

I agree with this, but I would be very reluctant to personally use the term "Gygaxian Naturalism" because it sounds too much like the name of a religion. Use it all you want, I'm just weird that way
It *IS* a religion, Hunterofdusk, and we would like just a few moments of your time...
Stay back! I took care of the last Jehovah's Witness that tried that on me, and I'll do it again!

Funny, that happened to me too just last week...let me show you *OUR* way of taking care of such door-to-door tract-jockeys!

My thanks for your welcome. If it does not offend the local temple, I will retain my robes of dark crimson: a symbol of gygaxian naturalism, showing forth the bloody purposefulness of our will.

Hey, I am the only cult leader allowed to use that avatar! I'm guessing you wish to merge your cult with ours? ;)

Hail Brother, I give the counter-sign.

Spoiler:
There are many names, but one true cult: for what is the Eye of Tharizdun, if not the eye of Gygax?
