Neuthro kicks and stomps at the snakes, but they slither out of the way!

Makon, on the other hand, brings his axe down right in the middle of the pile of snakes, chopping several in half!

The effect is immediate as the remaining snakes recoil from their dead brethren, and the swarm disperses moments later!

Out of Combat!

"Good job everyone! I must say, you all handled yourselves admirably!" Janira exclaims as the snakes slither off.

@Work, will update around lunch time.

Our great Venture Lieutenant for Online Play Hmm has asked me a few months ago if I wanted to become the Venture Agent for Online Play (PFS) at the Flaxseed Lodge. I was (and still am) honored and after a bit of discussion agreed to take on the responsibility. We are now awaiting official assignment from the higher-ups in the hierarchy.

Congrats man and a huge thanks for taking on a supporting role in the commuunity!

As Van applies the herbs and spices, he gets a philosophical look and begins to lecture the elf.

"You see, the yak butter is slippery, easing passage to the afterlife, and butter is made from milk, the life giving liquid of birth. It signifies the duality of existence. The mushroom is sacred to the dwarf and feeds off death, thus signifying from death comes rebirth. The apple....well Hops liked apples. Who doesn't?" Van stands, giving Wren a beneficent smile.

"And the herbs you found, they have meaning as well, as yaks are plant eaters, so they signify the life giving nutrition going to the hereafter with 'im! Nice job! We'll make a dwarf out of you yet!" He chuckles.

Vanderhoff follows the party out of the fort and stays near Jorgan, helping his cousin prepare the body for funeral rites, bathing the body, wiping Hops down in yak butter, placing mushroom caps over each eye, and an apple in his mouth. Once done, he leaves Jorg to his privacy and rejoins the group.

When Torgan mentions the cache of weapons, Vanderhoff nods. "Aye, it seems to me to be a good choice. Angradd knows we didn't find much to help in that last horde."

Van watches Kraygan work at the Trunau Yak and begins wondering whether placing Hops inside the effigy and burning it might be a proper funeral for the yak.

Say what...? wrote:
Ok, just to make sure I have this right hehe. Wren is going to fog the route in. Meanwhile the dwarves and yaks will approach the back of the Palisade while the yak mobile floats on the stream until it hits the dam?

So, the plan:

Assuming a few days to wheel the Trojan Yak upriver out of sight of the fort, Wren will practice patterned behavior modification as he creates fog clouds. At first, the orcs and giants might be alarmed by said cloud of fog, but nothing will happen and the cloud will eventually disperse harmlessly. (In this interim, Van and Wren might go check out the dam. Dunno) As the Ark of the YAK comes floating close to the fort and is noticed by the occupants, Wren will create another fog cloud. The orcs and giants will be like "Meh, happens everyday about this time. Probably from cold air flowing down the mountain and hitting the warm air convection currents coming from fort, making the fog...."

Then while the orcs and giants are pondering the Ark of the YAK, the dwarves and yaks will sneak in via a hole in the palisade made by Jorgan's woodshaping spell. Meanwhile, Wren is probably going to fly in under the radar and solo a couple sleeping giants.

Once inside, team dwarfyak will head for the sewer entrance and sneak into the fort. Mayhem ensues as everyone lays waste to the occupants of the fort. After some likely close calls, we win!

Make sense?

Despite only a couple successes at the games, everyone tries their hand at other competitions.

Jan strolls over to the lore symposium and enters the contest. Despite some language barriers, the Ulfen starts off good as he begins speaking about the Ulfen view of the goddess Desna and her aspects in the northern climes, but begins to lose the thread of his dissertation as he delves into more local, esoteric areas. When he starts talking about butterflies flapping their wings in Irrisen causing snowstorms in Taldor, he has lost the judging panel and unfortunately the competition as well.

----------------

Over at the trap mastery competition, Zirt, tries her gnomish hand at the activities, but it doesn't go very well. She begins by examining the "traps", but decides that it would be more fun to make a trap of her own, so she picks a likely-looking receptacle and sets to work. Unfortunately, her spell backfires, turning her hair a brilliant shade of pink for a few minutes! The she finds herself nearly snapped up in a large bear trap as her focus is drawn away by some passing animal companion that she has never seen before. Luckily, staff at the contest are able to extricate Zirt before she could suffer any wounds. Laughing it off as only a gnome could, Zirt makes her way to another competition.

-----------------

Star Chaser takes a few moments to wipe the majority of the mud off then moves on to the lore symposium. Nodding at Jan as he exits, Star Chaser sit down and begins a lecture comparing the prevalence of monotheistic versus polytheistic faiths based on geoclimatic situation with special emphasis on the elven tribes of nothern Avistan. Clearly impressing the judging panel, even if a lot of it was above their heads, Star Chaser is awarded a small, silver pin fashioned in the shape of an open tome.

Star Chaser's reward: Gain a +2 competence bonus on one Linguistics or Knowledge check attempted during the adventure.

-----------------

After his loss at the strength competition, Thrash makes his way over to the lore symposium. Stepping into the ring, Thrash begins a an educational demonstration he titles A new and portable way to lift heavy objects from a stationary position with the aid of items commonly carried by Field Agents. The half-orc then goes to on demonstrate various ways of using a block and tackle, and a traveler's anytool to illustrate different situations that agents could find themselves in, and how the simple use of leverage and pulleys can accomplish more than brute strength. The judges nod in approval and award the half-orc a small, silver pin fashioned in the shape of an open tome.

Thrash's reward: Gain a +2 competence bonus on one Linguistics or Knowledge check attempted during the adventure.

------------------

Farg find both Star Chaser and Thrash, as he strolls over to the symposium, which some agents have begun to call Destination Imagination. Making himself comfortable, the tiefling launches into a long, prosaic recitation of half-orc ancestry and various lines of linage. Once the nodding judges are awakened, they all confer with each other, then award Farg a small, silver pin fashioned in the shape of an open tome.

Farg's award: Gain a +2 competence bonus on one Linguistics or Knowledge check attempted during the adventure.

Once everyone begins examining the myriad of contests, each steps forward at one or another to test themselves in the selected fields of interest.

Idgethun joins a panel called Cultural Significance of Death in Nomads of the Garundi Desert, but once the discussion starts, she finds that the subject is misleading and concerns nomads from the time of the Jistka Imperium, while her knowledge concerns more contemporary tribes. Despite putting forth a good effort, Idgethun finds herself outclassed by an archivist from Sothis.

----------------------

Jan spies a contest of strength and quickly makes his way over to the crowd of would-be contestants. On his turn, Jan lays back on a sort of wooden trestle bench. Then two agents carry over a steel pool on which lead ingots have been hung. Poising the pole over the Ulfen's chest, Jan has to reach up, grab the pole, lower it to his chest, then raise it to the full extension of his arms. As more ingots are added in each successive round, Jan narrowly beats a hulking Kellid woman from the Mammoth Realms!

Brought to a small podium, Jan is presented with a small metal pin fashioned in the shape of dire bear.

Jan's reward: Gain a +2 competence bonus on one Strength-based skill check, attack roll, or combat maneuver check attempted during the adventure.

----------------------

Zirt, being the gnome she is, finds all sights, sounds, and contests to tempting to pass up, deciding to try her hand at nearly everything. With her personal menagerie in tow, Zirt first makes her way to the storytelling contest. Brimming with stories, Zirt begins a sort of rhythm based interpretive performance based tale spinning, but finds the audience and judging panel too conventional to understand the cutting edge, likely soon to be all the rage, beat poetry.

----------------------

Star Chaser strolls among the contests and eventually decides to personally challenge himself by entering the obstacle course competition. Approaching the starting line, the elf nods his readiness to the race starter, as he gets down in a sprinter's crouch. As the race official turns over a sand-filled hourglass and rings a brass bell signalling the start, Star Chaser dashes down the course. The first obstacle, a set of a manicured hedges, is easily leaped by the elf, but the second, scurrying across a narrow board suspended above a mud-filled pool, proves to be Star Chaser's downfall as the elf begins losing his balance, overcompensates, then somersaults over and falls into the mud!

----------------------

Thrash follows after Jan and joins the contests of strength. Choosing a challenge of dead lifting iron spheres, the half-orc does well, but alas, eventually is beat out by a tall, lanky Garundi agent.

-----------------------

Farg strolls over to trap mastery competition, surveys the assembled challenges, and enters the contest. The tiefling finds the traps and locks to be almost child's play as he quickly blows through the ranks and with minimal effort, picks open the hardest lock. Accompanied by a smattering of applause, Farg receives a small, brass pin fashioned in the shape of a padlock.

Farg's reward: gain a +2 competence bonus on one Disable Device

Vanderhoff stares at Wren with an indignant, shocked expression. "I thought you were keeping watch, while you ere sitting there shooting down every plan we came up with!"

"Balls!" Van curses, then calls down a blessing from Angraad as he and Hoof move out toward the front, Van drawing his hammer along the way.

*I just realized yaks are Medium sized animals. All this time, I've been thinking I could use Hoof for a mount."

After about twenty minutes of paging through the documents, Niko sighs and a runs a hand over his face. "The state of these records is simply deplorable! It's as if Mr. Aldain hired a squad of school children to inventory the collection."

Holding up a paper in one hand, he points to a parchment with the other. "Look here. The shorthand used is neigh unfathomable. Here, I see "IS", which I would take to mean Isger, but it appears to be detailing some trinket from Irrisen!" Setting the paper down, he picks up the parchment. "And here, this entry is marked "AS", but it appears to be detailing something pertaining to ancient Azlant!"

Shaking his head, he continues. "Consistency, there is not a single whit of consistency among these records. Aside from the shorthand, part of this appears to use enumerative classification, while others hierarchical classification with a little faceted categorization thrown in to muddle it further."

Frowning, his face grows stern. "It is no wonder Aldain seemed embarrassed to let us in here. I'm beginning to wonder if he weren't thrown out of the Society, rather than retiring. It would come as no surprise to me if, after this sloppy collection comes to light, that the man is sacked! That kind of man usually washes up in some bureaucratic wing of paper manglers, infuriating the general populace with its plodding, glacial work ethic, or curating some gnomish museum consisting of found objects and refuse!"

Glancing at Quarr, he stops his rant and says. "No offense meant, Mister Quart. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule."

Spotting Calbrianne, Vanderhoff unconsciously slows his pace as he approaches the woman.

Just tell her how you feel...

Nodding at the knight's greeting, he coughs uncomfortably, then responds. "Well met. Ah, yes, Kraygan, eh, Kraygan is recovering just fine."

What's the worst that can happen, she's not interested?...she laughs at you?...

Watching her sharpen her blade, Van stays silent for an uncomfortably long few moments then clears his throat. "Um, Calbrianne, I was wanting to ask you, um well, I thought, eh..."

Come on Steelkeg! Out with it!

"....um, we..we are going to be heading out soon and I...just...wanted...to...say...... um.....thank you. Thank you. I just wanted to thank you for putting in a good word for us and helping me cousin get his curse cured."

Dammit, you coward! Speak what's in your heart!

Drawing a ragged breath, Van continues stumbling along his one-sided conversation. "So, uh, are you going to be stationed here for a bit then? I mean what are the plans of the knights? Are they going to get involved in the conflict at Trunau?"

Your a fool Van my boy, a damnable fool...

"Anyways, I just wanted to thank ye and maybe if we survive this trip to the fort, we'll pass back this way, and maybe cross paths again." Putting out a hand, Van offers to shake Calbrianne's hand, then turns, and quickly walks away, not looking back.

You squandered you chance, fool. You'll never see her again...

I loves me some drow gals! Especially in the backseat!

Karn looks at their ghoulish companion. "Where is everybody?"

Leanign over and whispering to Brelar, he says. "What are we doing here, again?"

Max Irritatsante wrote:
"Hellooooo!" A strong voice calls......."Pardon me!" He calls before a reply is possible. "Would you have any Grey Absalom?"

At first, Niko ignores the voice outside, but within seconds he recognizes the familiar accent of a fellow countryman. Sighing at the interupption, he opens his eyes and peers out the window of the carriage. As he listens to Maximo's request, he regards the man with a blank stare.

"I'm afraid I do not." He responds, then begins digging through the myriad of pouches and flasks hanging from his person. Opening a waxed canvas satchel he removes a small, folded paper envelope, leans out the window, and tosses it into the window of Max's carriage. "Vudrani curry powder. I consider it far superior." He says, then taps the front wall of the carriage with his walking stick to signal the driver to proceed.

Once arrived at the destination, Niko steps out if his carriage. As he surveys the other agents who will accompany him on the upcoming missiom, a slight twitch of his left eye is all the betrays his recognition of Maximo.

Turning his full attention on Shaine, Niko listens to the man, watching him intently.

KN: history: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
KN: local: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26

When Shaine mentions Zey, Niko's face betrays no emotion. He begins to speak, but as Quarr speak up, Niko shuts his mouth and then regards the gnome with a questioning look as if he misjudged the man.

Addressing Shaine, Niko says. "I assume from our presence here, that your days of investigation have yielded little to no information, hence our presense here at the museum. Other than this lamp, do you have any additional information we might find useful?"

Van had completely forgotten about Umlo until the moment she was at his side pointing at Calrianne. His faces drains of all color as she begins to speak.

Crazedwarf wrote:
"What are you doing making Umlo blush!"

"Wha!.. no!...no, I'm not blus..."

Crazedwarf wrote:
"You casting some spell on him to make him stutter?"

Spell!?..I..I..I'm not...stutt..."

Crazedwarf wrote:
"You... you.... witch!"

"Witch?!...No...Er..Ingr...Cal..uh..stop! Not you Calbrianne, Inrgahild stop saying that. Uh, this is, uh..Cal, I mean Calbrianne this is Ingrahild. We met her in the swamp, I forgot about...she lost....I mean....she...she should might need healing as well...."

Van stops talking and sighs, looking deflated. He turns and looks at his cousins and Wren with a pleading, exasperated sort a look in his eyes.

Calbrianne wrote:
"I think I might be able to help your... friend."

"Great, that'd be great" Van mumbles and follows along staring at the ground.

When the cleric is introduced as Torag, Van's head jerks up and he peers intently at the young man, but his cousins beat him to any questioning, and he merely nods at the explanation.

Van lets a small smile creep onto his face as Kraygan is healed, then after Ingrahild becomes sane(r), and begins to cry, Van is torn for a moment looking between Calbrianne and Ingrahild. After a long moment of indecision he goes over to kneel by the dwarf. "Ingrahild?" He says gently. "Do you remember now? I'm sorry. Can you tell us what happened." He asks, awkwardly patting her on the arm.

Glancing up at Calbrianne, he say softly. "I think she lost her brother..."

Entering the castle, Vanderhoff peers around the yard taking stock of the situation and trying to assess the knight's ability to help them.

When Calrianne appears out of the crowd Van's eyes widen. When she clasps his arm, he turns a deep shade of scarlet. "Oh...Cal...er...Madam Knight, it is won...um....pleasant to see you again as well."

Clearing his throat loudly, he steals a furtive glance at Kray and prays to every god he knows to not let his cousins say anything stupid or embarrassing. In a brief second of insight he wonders if this is what the elf is always belly aching about.

Clearing his throat again, he tries to adopt a professional demeanor. "We went into the Ghost Swamp. Had a run in with a hag and some evil fey. We think Kraygan has been cursed. We came here in hopes of finding a priest who could remove the curse." He finishes in a rush, fearful his voice might crack.

Vanderhoff gratefully accepts the soap and begins to debark to wash in the river. Stopping, he turns back and says. "I'd say we head to Castle Firrine. Them Iomedans?...Iomedians?...whatever, they're most likely to have someone who can help. Besides, we might be able to leverage a favor after we saved that knight lass down river." He finishes, he cheeks turning a shade of red. Maybe Calrianne Blix might even be there....

"My thoughts anyways." He says with a shrug, then heads to the riverbank, undresses to his loincloth, and gingerly tiptoes into the bracing river water. Picking his way slowly into deeper water, he pauses at the level where he must submerge his nether region. Anyone who happened to be watching would see the dwarf apparently counting to himself before finally plunging bodily under the water. Coming up with a loud, startled whoop, Van shakes his head and proceeds to scrub off the mud, the blood, and the beer, and grime that has accumulated over the weeks. Eventually the dwarf relaxes and begins singing an old dwarven battle song as his finishes bathing.

Hey Gykrossin, welcome and thanks for stepping to the GM chair. To get an event number, you need to go to your "My Account" page and click on "Pathfinder Society" (about halfway down on left). You'll see three tabs, click on "GM/Event Coordinator". Then click on "Create New Event". There will be a series of drop down menus and fields to fill out. Select your game, venue (Online Play, a checkbox), uncheck the "event is public" box unless you want it listed on the Paizo upcoming events page (usually for conventions and gamedays), and select the scenario your going to run. RPG for "normal" PFS or PFC for Core.

Once you save that, you'll have an event number and a button labeled Report to report the game once finished.

As far as recruiting for your game, I suggest posting a recruitment thread, HERE (Where you posted this thread.)

Hope that helps.

Vanderhoff's jaw drops a little, then his whiskers start to visibly vibrate. Setting his feet apart and crossing his arms, he eyes Torgan with disbelief. "Cousin....what...are....you...talking....about?" Not waiting for an answer, Van keeps talking, his voice becoming agitated. "What do mean we can easily move on? What in the Nine Hells are we doing this for, then!? Why did we embark on this...this....mission?"

Shaking his head, he continues. "Of course were going back to help. Are you advocating abandoning the town? Showing cowardice and fleeing?" Sputtering with fury for a few seconds, he finds the words he's looking for. "We are Steelkegs, damn it! We're not going to be cowed by orcs, no matter how many! Your pappy is probably rolling over in his grave, right now!" Is Uncle Korgan dead?

Turning his back to Wren as this is a family matter, Van looks to Jorgan and Kraygan. "You all can turn back if you want, but I'm not and I pray you aren't either. Now, we'll see if we can find her brother. IF, we can find her brother, IF, we can even figure out how. Then we are going back to join the fight, alright?"

Letting out a long sigh, he finishes. "Now lets get a move on. The elf." He nods his head toward Wren, "The elf is starting to give us 'that look' again. I hate that look!"
