Hello,

I am adding a few levels of wizard to a gauth from the 3.5 monster manual. What would you say that creatures role is? Spell or special?

Thanks

What would stats be for a human child in were-rat hybrid form? The infected kind.

Thank you all so much for the input. I tend to agree with Matthew the most, but the again I am biased as I will be the one trying to use the spell. I sent a link to this thread to the DM and will see if he has any input.

Awesome, thank you. I understand that nauseated is a little brutal for a first lvl spell (I don't know if there are any in the game that cause it) but I am underwhelmed if I have to drop that to sickened. How OP would you rate this as you wrote it? I believe in creating a spell doing things like rolling to hit and stuff works in your favor does it not?

Hello,

I am playing a druid for the first time since my first character over 20 years ago and I wanted to convert my favorite spell from back in the day to pathfinder and wondered if I could get some input. The spell is "Puffball" and was in The Complete Druid's Handbook. I asked my DM if I could convert it and he said yes. I could be a little OP but I would argue that Color Spray can be OP in certain situations. I would like to try and leave it a first lvl spell.

Here is what it is as written in 2nd edition:

Puffball (Alteration)
Sphere: Plant
Range: Touch
Components: V,S,M
Duration: 2 rounds/level of caster
Casting Time: 4
Area of Effect: 1 mushroom, etc.
Saving Throw: Special

A character who casts puffball on a normal mushroom, truffle, or toadstool (up to 6 inches in diameter) transforms the fungus into a magical puffball, which the character may drop or throw. The DM should decide what type of roll, if any, is required to hit the target (Strength, Dexterity, etc.) See the DMG, pgs. 62-63, for rules on grenadelike missiles.
The puffball bursts upon landing, releasing a cloud of spores 10 feet in diameter. Those caught in the spore cloud must save vs. poison or suffer an attack of coughing and choking. Victims can make no attacks and lose all dexterity bonuses to Armor Class and saving throws. The cloud dissipates in 1d3+1 rounds; residual effects still afflict character one round after they escape the cloud or it fades.
The spell's effects do not affect undead or similar nonbreathing creatures. If no one throws (or drops) the missile by the time its duration expires, the enchantment is lost.
The caster sprinkles the material component-a pinch of ground puffball-over the fungus to be enchanted.

BUMP* - Can anyone help?

Are the 2 chart in the "grapple" rules section still accurate? If not, is there an updated version somewhere? (sorry, I couldn't figure out how to link better, I don't post much)

Thanks

Right now they are 5, those stats are if they give him enough time to keep buffing. Also, the 2 of the PCs use touch attacks (gunslinger and alchemist) to do damage plus the wizards spells. Also this is a fight is space with several ships so there are NPCs that can help if they need it.

I don't know, the stats don't look too bad, claws would be cool though.
Fully buffed with spells and class abilities it ends up being this:
full attack +1 greataxe +15/+10 (1d12+17, plus 1d6 fire, x3) and bite +8(1d3+5, x2)

This is for a main baddie in an encounter in the spelljammer campaign I am running, he is a Scro Warpriest

Thanks everyone, I think I got it.

I am not sure what the attack bonuses that I would end up with would be if I add a natural bite attack to a full attack action.

I have a base attack of +6/+1, an 18 strength, and power attack. If I added a 1d3 bite attack as well, what would the attack and damage be for each of the 3 attacks?

THANKS!!

I am going be running the above adventure and have read through it once, and then glance through it looking for the item in question. The pendant of Ashaba gives the wearer thr right to rule shadowdale and the current lord is wearing an illusionary one. At the conclusion of the adventure the PCs are supposed to chose who gets the pendant next. I can't find anywhere that it is listed as loot. Can anyone who has run the adventure tell me where it is? Am I just not seeing it or did they completely forget to put it in?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

plug in a spelljamming helm

Is it just me or do the crane style feats work pretty good for a fighter with the Free-hand Fighter archtype? I have someone in the campaign I am running playing one and if you combine this with the defensive, parrying and reposite abilities of the duelist prestige class it looks like it would be pretty good. (with or without the nerf to the crane style feats)

bump

Can you use the Wild Arcana ability to scribe a scroll for a spell that you do not know?

I would rule this as a "no" because the Wild Arcana ability lets you essensially change one of your spells into something else, but you never actually knew the spell, you were just able to change yours into something else.

What do you guys think?

(P.S. I think the person that asked me this is using it as an end around to never have to pay full price for scrolls, just scribe the scroll with the wild arcana ability and then write it into his spellbook)

Thanks everyone for your help! A lot of good suggestions.

I was making an orc sorcerer with the dragon bloodline. I know that the bloodline power that gives you claws is rounds per day = to 3+Cha mod. My question is, is there a way either make this permenant(or extended long enough to have them out each battle of a day) or get claws from something else?

Thanks

Does the familiar use the masters check if it is higher?

Do familiars get any additional skill points as thier master levels?

Awesome, thanks!

I have currently have a Chimera for a mount and from what I gathered from the Core Rulebook is that if I have her use 1 move action to move say 30ft then she cannot do anything else?

What I was trying to do was cast a spell direct the Chimera to move then use its breath weapon, which I'll admit seems rather broken.

Also, being as how a Chimera is wider than a horse, is there any problem using a melee attack or touch spell while mounted?

Thanks

Definately think you guys should be there!

Do you know if any of the artists will be there again this year?

Does anyone know if any of the paizo people are going to be at C2E2 in Chicago this year?

I believe it gains a slam attack if it didn't have one before.

Need some clarification. When the Pale Strangers Stranger's Shot crits, how much damage does it do? 6d6 or 24d6? I don't see the point in auto confirming if you don't get the critical damage.

Thanks.

Does anyone know if they plan to reprint Dwarves and Elves of Golarion?

We are on the same book as you and ran into the same problem. Our entire party of for caught it. We stopped off at what seemed to be a semi-major town (don't remember the name) and foud a cleric around level 12. Whether this was in the book or just the DM giving us a break I don't know. However, one of us is still afflicted as it was past the 3 days when we got to town.

Good luck

I would imagine that if the wizard died in possession of his spellbook we would have access to it as long as it wasn't removed from his body.

Wasn't there some kind of spellcasting ghost in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting?

Thanks. I figured the way to get around the focus and material componants was that it it died with them so it would have them. The 50% miss for spell is a good idea.

If a spellcaster becomes a ghost does he retain the ability to cast spells? I was going to make a human ghost as an npc and didn't know if it would work.

Did the Ring of Wizardry for Divine spellcasters get reprinted in Pathfinder? I believe it was a wonderous item in 3.5, pearl or something.

Thank you very much, can you tell me the source in case I ever have to look it up?

Are there any bonuses that do stack? I have read in the core rulebook that "most" do not, but are there any that do? I throught when I played 3.5 that there were some but I can't seem to find anything in Pathfinder that says so.

Thanks

Hello,

Anyone know of some good computer programs for creating world maps? I suck a drawing and it would help move some of the things I am creating for my next campaign along. Also ones to create dungeons maps and maps for decks of ships/spheres will be helpful as well, as it is going to be a Spelljamming campaign.

Thanks
