I like playing everyone's friend. This is best accomplished with a divine caster being the buffer or healer, or with a bard and some specialized wizards.
This is useful because I die often, no matter how optimized I am or carefully I play.
Being the berserk button in a party of otherwise "neutral, not-my-problem" kinda characters means that I get to be important despite my "crit-me" sign.

It's also led to hilarity and Kuririn/Krillin references... and Kenny, of course.

Have you ever seen my drawings? I know it's a bid sudden to ask...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

My best wishes for this person. The laws of probability dictate, however, that things can only get better from here. :) Hug him for me if he's the kind to take to that sort of thing, will you?

Teehee. Darth Ballsack. :P
You know you've done well when the characters think up a nickname for a bad guy.
During one of my first forays into gming, I allowed my bf to stat up a serpentfolk wizard to serve as a villain.
I wasn't very good at using him, to my boyfriend's chagrin, but he did manage to use his buffs and survive for some time.

His name was Sheldon. Sheldon Thp-Thp. You had to say the last part by running your tongue out like a snake. His name was what made him memorable; that and the fact he kidnapped a party member who escaped, and he was cornered in his silken bathrobe. A snakeman in a bathrobe is funny no matter how you shake it, right?

Love this game.

Currently trying to find how much we paid for the wand.

Or that they get so annoyed with your paranoia that they get you in the end.

I learned nearly everything I know now about sex, fetishes, and deviant culture from the gaming table. While it was usually mentioned light-heartedly, I didn't feel I was being targeted for being female, so much as for being sheltered.
Where I am, gaming groups are actually composed by equal parts female and male. However, I do note that the dm, who is usually male, gets disgruntled when we fixate on things that are 'girly' in game. Sure, ROTL-wise, Shayliss's seduction gets a graphic narration, but anyone pursuing Aldern gets black-screened the instant they enter the bar. Also, we have to roll will saves a lot more often to not act 'compulsively', and our pet bunnies get punted by the male players...
and the female players...
Oh, and a majority of the rough-and-tumble man-abusing female PCs I've seen played on the boards and irl by dudes. Girls are usually chill.
Wait, where was I going with this? GIVE MAH BUNNEH BACK!

If a character is falling less than 60 ft, do they need to make a wisdom check to activate feather fall correctly?

As a fellow girl gamer, I'm going to add that you're probably going to have to write a lot in Pbp. Some mandate a certain number of posts per day, or a number of sentences per post. You can usually find out what a dm is looking for in a recruitment thread.

Your wife comes home, but with a foreign strain of pink eye that our antibiotic strains don't help much with. She and you are afflicted with the itchies for several days before the infection goes away, and it totally deflates any thought of romance.

I wish my retinitis pigmantosa would go away.

I showed up on the set because I was running coffee for the producer. What the heck? I'm a soprano! I'm beginning to think Haladir's idea isn't that far off the mark.

The next poster gets cast as the lead villain.

I DO want to finish it, but my recent efforts only ended in tragedy, and my weapon is broken (a genre-jumping HK droid hated the competition).

The next poster knows the value of a roll of paper towels in battle.

Signore di Fortuna is banned for having the French Disease.

No way, Jose!

But sadly, halflings are good at stealing fenced goods.

Congratulations! The world lasts ten additional days, but only because the form of human extinction is slow and painful. Many people watch in horror as their least important organs decay inside, and their toes rot off. True story.

I wish I had an umbrella (and some rain to go with it).

Gran rey is banned for holding too many crowns.

That's the wrong sound, Master Tirq.

HOMONYM ALERT!

The Vicious Chicken of Bristol is banned for being highly suspect for knowing about her ducks.

Falling down the stairs.
-_- and then being landed on by a fat bard.

Don't small weapons weight half as much as medium weapons? And if a bolt is 10 to 1 lbs., then a small bolt is 20 to 1 lbs.

That is less than an ounce. I think I just got shot with a sliver. How does Flitter keep making gobos asplodeded!?..."Ow! That's apparently how." *Hobbles off.*

"A half-orc walks into a bar. His gnome friend ducks! Ha! Just kidding- gnomes are short, they don't have to duck. That joke was mean and misleading, I suppose; gnomes don't have half-orc friends."

"What do you do when a half-orc attacks you from across the room with a crossbow? Pick it up and shoot him with it! Ha!"

I miss that character. The party's half-orc paladin probably didn't.

Its been YEARS since I've played a halfling. I miss Roscoe Greenbottle III. Halfling fighter 3/swashbuckler 3/rogue 3. Fun times. But lately, when I've played small, its been go gnome or go home.

"What brings you to Sandpoint, anyway?"
Bergi put a hand on a skirted hip.
Oh, please say he's an adventurer... and that he's from somewhere interestingly different, by Chaldira! Look at his attire!

Flit grumbles softly under his breath. "Flit the God killer... Yeah... Thats a good name!" Cocking his crossbow, Flit grins at Ringtail viciously.

Bergi pulls out her healer's kit. Somehow, she knew that this would end in one of two ways: utter awesomeness or humiliation for herself and the rest of her race.

"Don't forget to point it only at things you intend to kill, Flit the God Killer!"

Thanks, you guys!

Aside from what was already given. I'd recommend picking up the trial version of Hero Lab or paying for the full version if you want to support them or have money to spend.

The trial works well in a pinch, though and speeds up character creation when applying for games in the recruitment section. Copy/Pasting a stat-block is easy enough, it also allows you to pre-check your character to make sure it's legal for play and you didn't make any mistakes during character creation.

It's not too difficult to learn how to use it, but it's immensely helpful both as a tool for applying for games that are recruiting quickly without too much time investment as well as useful in home-games or for DMing purposes.

It can be irritating creating a character for application to a game and spending a considerable amount of time doing the crunch work only to not get accepted. Hero lab conceivably can reduce that investment of time considerably so it's less of an inconvenience to apply for a game.

Good luck!

Thanks, I'm trying it out!

Me, too!

Oh, and I know how to make a character sheet...
I just don't know what file or link to make to it.

Oh, there's a subforum? Awesome! Sorry to trouble you!

I'm willing to play almost anything, and I'm okay with blending into the background if needed.

I've played Pathfinder for over a year, and know the ins and outs of the rules and character creation. I've just never played on this website. I'd love to be a part of a larger adventuring group, but I want to play for once. I'm usually gangpressed into being a gm.

I don't have to be an important character... I just wanna play. :D I'm a vet at tabletop, but I've never done anything on this site before.

I.. I'd really like to play a halfling bard.
