George Jones, country superstar known for ‘He Stopped Loving Her Today,’ has died at 81
I liked his style. He didn't take s#%& from anybody. Dead at 88. R.I.P. dude.
Paizofolk! I just wanted to say thank you for the Pathfinder Tales line. Many year ago, I developed a table that showed books I wanted to purchase, the author, and the publishing date. I kept this in my cubicle at work, haning up so that I could see it everyday. A few years back, one of my key sources of new reading material dried up and my list became sadly empty - not completely so, but more than it should have been. With the advent of PF Tales I now have 4 more novels on that list (one of which is just waiting the fulfillment of an order). So again, I thank you. Ya'll rock!
I loved the season 3 opener last night. Fantastic. Lots of zombie action! A big improvement over last season in just one episode. Weird fact I learned today: The guy who plays Rick was in that movie Love Actually. He's the best friend in love with Kiera Knightley's character! HOLY S&~$!!! MIND = BLOWN!
For those who missed PaizoCon, he was impressive carrying around that special edition Rise of the Rune Lords. He looked every inch the cosmic entity capable of reducing the miniscule lives around him to dust with but the merest thought. Plus, we need a new cult.
Those damn airlines are at it again. This time, they've gone into colusion with the shaving cream manufacturerers. Notice how you never see a travel size container of shaving cream? That's because the shaving cream makers stopped making them. That way, when you travel, you either have to pay for a checked bag with your shaving cream inside, or not bring any in your carry-on and buy some when you get where you're going, or bring it in your carry-on and it gets confiscated so you have to buy more. INSIDIOUS BASTARDS!!!
I've always been a sucker for a good ghost story. Here's a link to a yahoo.com article about the supposedly haunted hotel owned by the family of Senator Rob Portman. I thought it was interesting. I'm sure there are other good stories out there.
I just wanted to drop this quick line to all the awesome people at Paizo and say "THANKS". PaizoCon was awesome, I really enjoyed meeting many of you in person, and I had a blast. Thanks for putting this on, and thanks for putting out such awesome stuff. YOU ALL ROCK!!!!
Based on a novel by James Patterson, and the same character as played by Morgan Freeman. This seems to be a reboot, I suppose, with Tyler Perry in the title role. Judging from the trailer, though, this looks pretty f!#!ing cool.
Like that time <redacted> went ahead and <redacted> all over the <redacted>, even though we told him it could make him go <redacted>. But did he listen? Oh no!! Anyway, if you also think <redacted> should have <redacted> before <redacted> all over the <redacted>, then sound off and let us know!
Being from New Orleans, a city with a rich history of excellent cuisine, I enjoy good food and have several favorites. So, what are people's favorites? Home made or restaurant, it doesn't matter. Red Beans & Rice (a traditional Monday dish) is my absolute favorite meal in the entire universe. A good stew is always a pleasure. There was a restaurant back home called Bozo's that had some of the best Chicken and Andouille Sausage gumbo I've ever had the privilege to eat. I'm a sucker for good Kung Pao Chicken. And, of course, a discussion of food would not be complete without a mention of boiled crawfish.
Several members of the same alien race as E.T. make an appearance in the Galactic Senate in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Rowlf the Dog was actually one of the first Muppets ever to appear on TV. Created in 1962, he first appeared in commercials for Purina Dog food, then went on the serve as sidekick to the title character on The Jimmy Dean show.
I'd read before that the story would likely be based on Warren Ellis' Extremis storyline, with people speculating that Mandarin would be the villain. However.... Ben Kingsley will be the Iron Man 3 baddie—but as who? I love Ben Kingsley, and think he's a terrific actor, so this fills me with some hope. I think he does villain very well. I also think he plays smart, scientist type well. All in all, an interesting move.
Here's the trailer for Iron Sky It's Nazis! From the Moon! Bwahahahahahah.....
Figured I'd start a thread on cars. Here's an article about a new car that folds up like a stroller.
Here's an interesting article from the SyFy website. Although, after a quick scan of the comments section, it seems that he missed some. Still, very interesting. Especially the bit about a copy of Fahrenheit 451 being bound in Asbestos.
From Wikipedia: Act of Valor is an upcoming 2012 American war film directed by Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh, and written by Kurt Johnstad. It stars Alex Veadov, Rosalyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, Emilio Rivera and actual active duty U.S. Navy SEALs. The film is scheduled to be released on February 24, 2012. As a big supporter of our military, I find this movie to be very interesting.
Karl Slover, actor who played trumpeter Munchkin in ‘The Wizard of Oz,” dies at 93 in Ga.
It may look like a friendly and peaceful suburban neighborhood right off the Pomona Freeway in Rowland Heights, California, but don't let the innocent look fool you. That place is home to some of the most dastardly supervillains bent on world domination on the planet. Beware! They must be stopped!!!
Dear Paizo Customer Service folk, Greetings from the Land of the Rising Sun. I just noticed that my subject order for the Tome of Horrors Complete moved from Pending Orders to Order History. When I click on the order number link it says it shipped via standard postal delivery, but there is no date for when it shipped. Do you have a date as to when it shipped? I'm out of the country at the moment and want to be sure to tell the missus when to expect the package. Thanks, and Sayonara.
Constitution Day (or Citizenship Day) is an American federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution and those who have become U.S. citizens. It is observed on September 17, the day the U.S. Constitutional Convention signed the Constitution in 1787. So, happy National Constitution Day - one of the greatest political documents of all time, that helped shape one of the greatest countries of all time. And a big congrats to all those wonderful people who have become U.S. citizens, thereby making this country even more awesome than it already was! And if you are doing so today, then DOUBLE AWESOME!!!
Just knowing I could wake up to such a terrifying sight scares the bejeesus out of me. I never thought I'd feel sorry for Nick Cage.
It's all about the flow, dudes. They've go solutions to lots of flow problems. Give 'em a call.
I've got a fantastic wife and an awesome little boy. I've got a cool job. Beer! I live in what is, for me, the greatest country on the face of the Earth! My 25+ years of comic book love has been paying off in spades these last few years, with some awesome comic book inspired movies! I have an awesome hobby that led me to this place and a metric crap ton of cool people to be friends with*. *Note - Spoiler:
Does not inlcude evil pony lawyers.
Oh Great and Powerful PMG! I've noticed a weird little Focus glitch lately. I'll Focus, but some of the troll threads I'm trying to do away with still show up. I hit the little button to "remove a dot and stop tracking posts in this thread", but it'll still show up. So then I sign out, sign back in, and Focus again, and this time it's gone. No big problem, but I thought I'd let you know, cuz that's how I roll.
