This is a pretty fun rogue game. They've made a ton of changes. I'm actually excited to see what they do with AV.

I'm not sure what you mean by "bait and switch." We'll for sure have more to say about the campaign as a whole rather than just its first volume, with a proper landing page and all that soon, but until then, I can confirm that the "You are producing your own opera" elements of this Adventure Path remain a core theme throughout all three parts, and that there's a stronger emphasis on roleplaying, skill use, exploration and downtime, and whimsy in this Adventure Path than a more standard dungeon crawl or action-packed storyline. There's a LOT of NPCs on screen in these adventures for your PCs to interact with.

Not to say there's not fights and exploration of dungeony-locations, though! There for sure are.

Thank you for this. By bait and switch, I think of Extinction Curse where you think it's a circus related AP and it really isn't.

Thanks for confirming that. Still doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense to me. Other hardcovers in the past were compilations of multiple previously published softcovers, so it made some sense for subscribers to get the hardcover. With this one, you get both the softcover and the content-wise identical hardcover in the same month, plus the exact same PDF twice (technically).

I feel like an option to swap the hardcover with the softcover would make way more sense from a subscriber's perspective.

I ran QftFF. We had 1 character death. I don't run pfs, so I'm not worried about running anything perfect. The AP has a bit of time crunch to it, so I just allowed someone at the following move runes as needed with a night's rest. I also made sure they had what runes they needed, and then I sprinkled whatever fun magic items I could find to keep them in the area of character wealth.

More Sandpoint? yawn....

How long is a "day"? All the downtime activities, particularly crafting, measure things in days, and yet it's never clarified how long a day is. Is it 24 hours of work? Is it 8 hours? If its 8, can I do two 8 hour "days' of work in a single 24 hour day?

It says you spend 2 days of work setting up, or 1 day if you have the formula. hours doesn't matter because you spend x days, not x hours.

It's going to fall under the newest price hike. There is a blog about it.

They wanted to keep the new core books as low as they could so they didn't fall under the new price.

I will wait for the errata updated pdfs then. I don't find it attractive to be offered a product that is supposed to be a fix and an upgrade of an existing one, but that itself comes out with a slew of new and important errors on day one...

I would suggest something like Demiplane then. They update with the errata, so their books have the latest changes and syncing with your paizo account gets you the pdf. So when that updates you've got that as well.

No. There are two ways to get the pdf of a Pathfinder rule book: buy it, or subscribe to one of the Pathfinder Rulebook or Pathfinder Rulebook Special Edition lines. And in the latter case you only get the pdf if the rulebook in question is not past its release date.

You could also buy it from a 3rd party like Demiplane and that'll give you the pdf as well.

From the find your path blog. I'm not sure if that is how you obtained the player core, but it's something to be aware of.

I'd rather have the errata when it is ready to release, not rushed to be applied day one.

That's not how it works. I don't have a maps sub, in fact this month I'm not even getting player cor nor gm core. I'm still waiting for the AP.

I'd wish someone of the people having the book and doing videos would just show the Player Core 1 from the outside, I'd really like to know how thick the book is compared to an old Core Rulebook. Yes, I know it's 2/3rds of the page count, but I'm interested to see how it looks, visually.

I'm finding it oddly compelling for such a simple game. For about $5 I can't complain. How can we submit bug reports? I found a bug where the 30 second timer at the end of a level got stuck and let me wander around opening chests for about 5 minutes before I got tired of waiting to see if it would start counting down on its own.

Devs seem active in the steam forums for the game.

This is already possible. I speak as a UK resident with a pathfinder subscription.

Not to speak for the other person, but I would imagine the cost of shipping worldwide makes the subscription unobtainable for many.

Except I do - for two reasons

As someone who often engages in society, especially in meatspace games, I effectively do have to, as I have to stay current with RAW and if I'm going to be passing judgement on rules, I need to have an updated copy of said rules.

And secondly, the issue is about player ignorance - as a GM, this forces me to tell players 'oh yeah you have to buy the gm book or buy an outdated book that's out of print to get the magic items in your book' - or force them to a website which is an absolutely horrible UI for actually reading and learning anything. AoN is terrible for anything other than moment-of-time lookups.

By this logic you've bought every errata'd core book then? I've been running pf2e for over a year. I don't think a single player of mine has purchased a book.

There seems to be several problems with the PDF version of The Seventh Arch (Gatewalkers volume 1), both the all-in-1-file and the 1-file-per-chapter versions:
- wrong labels for bookmarks
- 170MB (instead of the usual 20-40MB)
- images are merged with the page border decorations and cut into rectangular parts (with, sometimes, thin but visible white lines between those parts)
- the merging of the images + their being cut into small parts make it impossible to select an image and export it for use on a VTT

I hope this is just a mistake (wrong version of the file maybe) and not an intended change?

My thoughts on this. Wotc wanted this version leaked so when the real one drops it'll be terrible but less so and people can say, see looks it's better than what was leaked and just go along with it.

Yea, they should maybe flesh out that example, because I interpreted it to be the default or just "two boosts, no flaw."
