Description:
Guthrem is a young (21 years old) bounty-hunter of Uthgardt decent. He is short for Uthgardt, but not so for an average man of Toril, standing 5' 10" tall. He only weighs in at 175lbs but possesses a wiry strength about him. His deep red-orange hair is kept in the Uthgardt fashion of long in back with braids forward of the ears. He has bright grey eyes with a boyish charm that has gotten him in trouble on too many occasions.

Personality:

Guthrem is a naturally likable demeanor and he has always found it easy to make friends. Though he is fiercely loyal to his true friends, he is not above using his charm to get close to a mark once he has picked up the trail. Guthrem has a unique moral code that he follows quite stringently. He is not above robbing, stealing, and murdering, so as long as the target is criminal or evil in nature. He generally stays under the radar of authority when possible, but unfortunately some authorities fall into his target demographic.

Background:

Guthrem was born the son of an Uthgardt warrior near the Silver Marches. His mother was a clan Skald, but he didn't follow either tradition. Being of the clan of the Black Raven tribe, he didn't spend much time exposed to the "civilization" of the Silver Marches. Neither did he feel he really belonged following the predatory ways of his tribe.

Guthrem discovered at an early age his ability to find his way into places and situations he shouldn't be, and find things that he shouldn't have. Around the year 1367 DR at age 17, Guthrem was exiled (and half-gelded) for a liaison with a the daughter of a clan warlord. Guthrem's wounds healed and he learned to thrive among the people of the Silver Marches. He still holds Essault, the daughter, dear to his heart, and though he has known his share of romance in the years since, Essault remains his one true love.

He spends the next several years in the Silver Marches making a name for himself as a bounty hunter of sorts, but he not only hunts men, orcs, and undesirables, but is well known for tracking down lost items. He seems to have a particular talent for the latter.

In 1371 DR, Guthrem became aware of an impending invasion of the Silver Marches by the Orc King Obould Many-Arrows. The following war promised to be catastrophic for the people of the Silver Marches. Soon after Guthrem is retained by a mysterious Necromancer to help discover the location of a missing Phylactery. Guthrem uses his contacts to identify that it has been transported trans-planar. The Necromancer in question agrees to pay expenses and arrange transport to Sigil (Guthrem's first extra-planar journey). The Necromancer secures the use of a portal in the slums of Silverymoon and Guthrem is to pass through first, followed by the Necormancer. Guthrem steps through the portal but all does not feel right. Something happened beyond Guthrem's understanding, and the Necromancer did not follow him through. Guthrem has spent the last 2 weeks in Sigil trying to figure out the power structure of this alien city and whether or not his employer would ever follow through. He wouldn't mind going home to Faerun, but is intrigued by Sigil's many wonders. The advance payment he received is all but spent, but how long is the contract valid if the Necromance didn't follow through?
