Well, it depends on which Greek you ask.

If he (or she) identifies strongly with his (or her) Greek-ness, (as this fellow does) he doesn't consider himself "white."

"White" applies more to us American mutts who don't really care about where our ancestors came from. ;)

In either case, there was no offense intended in the statement.

No offense taken. Never thought of myself other than "white" even though I'm 100% Greek. My dad fell off the feta cheese/olive oil boat! :) Mom's parents came through Ellis island around 1912.

So if being "Greek" is not white then what do you classify yourself as? Greek is a nationality not a race.

Demographics are: 5 men, 3 women. One of the men is black, and one of the men is full-blooded Greek....

My group:
4 white guys (Greek, Slovak, English, Norwegian ancestry)
1 Hispanic (Dominican)
1 Black (Haitian)

Religions - all Christian, but diverse (catholic, eastern orthodox, protestant, etc)

Political views...don't get me started. Far right to far left with a great deal of conspiracy theorists smack dab in the middle.

We're a small group (dm and 3 players) looking for a 4th (we just lost ours).
Experienced and serious 3.5 player wanted. Current group consists of three forty year old players, with 25+ years D&D experience each.
Playing in two low magic campaigns, one of which will be the pathfinder AP (starting soon)

We play on Monday evenings from 8 til midnight in Bay Ridge-Brooklyn.

Anyone interested can drop me a message here. Thanks

What? Isn't that about how many Marines can read? ;p

Countrary to popular belief, the vast majority of Marines are highly intelligent. It takes superior brainpower to figure out how to kill a man 3,762 ways using only a toothpick or an empty MRE bag. 3,763 ways if we count dental floss.

Actually, reading through the thread, Paizo has responded to a LOT of the feedback.

We try. We really do. :)

Wait! If you're busy responding to feedback who's minding the shop and doing all the work? Can't be Vic - he's always on the boards.

In my travels I have recently come across more than a couple ex-military guys who game.

I don't have any military experience but I do have three guys in my current game who are. I just wanted to give a salute to all of you in the military and invite you to post a reply if you are currently in the military or are ex-military.

I served in the USMC for 4 years and two of my players that I DM are also marines that served with me... There are plenty of military men (and women) who play.

I just received my order...damn you Kobolds are quick!

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Battles Case Subscriber)

Can the Kobolds of Tracking find my order? It supposedly shipped on 12/31/2008 and still hasn't arrived. I don't think it takes 21 days to get to NYC.

Thanks

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Battles Case Subscriber)

As a former US Marine and coming from a family that has served through every generation I just want to say thanks to all of you who have served or who are currently serving.
There has been no greater honor for me than serving my country.

This thread is insane. This is my opinion, and my opinion is correct (as always).

I thought my opinion was always correct. Then my wife corrected me.

Order # 1007929 shipped from Paizo on 8/4. I still haven't received my order as of today (8/16). Mail already came today.
It's been 10 business days and 2 Saturdays - total of 12 days in transit?
Anyone else having the same problem here in NYC?

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Battles Case Subscriber)

My wife actually yelled at me for spending too much money at my FLGS yesterday. Well, by yelled I mean that she gave me one of those looks.

You are making spend spousal point like crazy. By the end of this year I will have no cred left at all.

I have an easy solution for you regarding your wife.... Divorce.

I just got divorced..... No more "looks" or comments from her!
Of course I now pay huge sums of money in support...... But it's worth paying thousands a month in support to spend less than $100/month on Paizo products!
Wait..Now I know why I failed math in school. :(

- Racial Ability Score Modifiers: Does this change go too far? If not, are the added bonuses appropriate for each race?

Jason Bulmahn

I think the modifiers go to far. How about using the following:

Humans: +2 to any one ability
Elves: +2 to Dexterity or Intellect
Dwarves: +2 to Constitution or Wisdom
Halflings: +2 to Dexterity or Charisma
Gnomes: +2 to Constitution or Charisma
1/2 Orcs: +2 to Strength or Wisdom
1/2 Elves: +1 to any two ability scores (but not +2 to any single ability)

Each race gets one boost but no penalty. Or if you feel a penalty is required then just apply a -1 penalty to the stat that is listed in rules (except humans and half elves)

The final Pathfinder RPG will be huge. 500 to 600 pages. Not sure HOW many. But huge indeed. I suspect that it won't contain any monster stats, though, or if it does, it'll be a VERY small number of monsters. Which is kinda a waste of space, I think. Better to have all the rules in that one immense book and then have the monster book be a separate book.

Anyway... how it all shakes out in the end is still a distant future worry! :)

Huge is good. Immense is aweome. No monsters in IMMENSE book is even better. Separate monster book is best. :)

Anyone have a spell that can fast forward us 1 year?

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Battles Case Subscriber)

Dude,

I'm with ya.. I'm going through a divorce of my own (heck - today is my wedding anniversary). She asked for a divorce on Xmas Eve.

Anyway - don't let your emotional state dictate what you do. Don't let guilt command your actions. This may sound harsh but you have to protect your rights and look after the yourself and the kids.
Don't say or do anything that she could record or hold against you. Don't promise her anything.
Get an attorney ASAP. A divorce doesn't have to be hostile. If counseling won't work and a divorce is what she wants then maybe you two can get a divorce mediator that will help settle everything. That way you both don't have money hungry lawyers who typically try to trash the other spouse.
But most of all - keep it civil and never talk bad about your wife in front of the kids. It's rough for them also and they don't need to see the two of you fighting or bad mouthing one another.
Things will get better. It just takes time.

Anyone else aggravated that Amazon is unable to fill some of their (re: my) preorders until mid-July?

I pre-ordered from B&N and received my books on June 6th. After reading them I wished I had never ordered them. What a complete waste of money. Just MHO.

I received an email confirmation that it shipped, which I deleted. However, I have yet to recieve anything. Can you provide me with the date it shipped or an ETA? The kobolds should have mailed it to NYC.

Thanks

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Battles Case Subscriber)

Same here (order # 943682). I received the latest Pathfinder adventure but was missing my gazetteer. I sent Paizo an email and left a voicemail with customer service (as they were busy feeding the kobolds)

D'oh! We removed the Item Card decks from the subscription a while back, but I neglected to remove that bit of text from the description. The deck isn't part of any subscription—you'll need to order it separately.

Oh Noes..... that means I'll land up buying more than just cards if I start shopping ala cart! Curse you Paizo. Maybe I should have my paycheck direct deposited into Paizo's bank account?

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Campaign Setting, Companion, Battles Case Subscriber)

The description for the card deck says it is part of the Pathfinder's Chronicles subscription. However, I don't see it listed anywhere in my list of items to be shipped. Will this deck ship with May's Pathfinder's Chronicles Gazeteer?
