Gulgrym taps his foot impatiently, waiting for the action to commence.
"Your borthers death falls on me." Gulgrym says, slipping back into his battle voice, low and menacing, "do you really want to join him?"
Patricio Calderón wrote: This will not finish well, so everyone roll initiative. as usuall, you can roll for Gulgrym
Gulgrym is in front of the crack (So probably A-3).
Gulgrym looks over at the gnome. "It looks like your beggar friend sold us out."
Then glancing at the man in the doorway he continues, "Damn and I just got myself cleaned up" as his hand falls to the hilt of his blade.
"We might as well see if he wants to join up with us." Gulgrym says with a shrug, "We already seem to have lost a couple people that started out with us this morning."
Gulgrym glances over at the gnome, "Anything intersting there?" he asks.
"well there is an advocation of going through the wall, if I ever heard one." Gulgrym says claping the Man on the shoulder and giving him a wink to let him know he is kidding.
Gulgrym steps back and strokes his chin thoughfully, wondering how offended the beggar would be should he return to find a gaping whole ripped in the back wall of his refuge. "Can you see anything back there?" he asks Voran.
Gulrym moves over to search the newly illuminated area. (he has a search modifier of +7).
Gulgrym nodds in agreement with Voran's suggestion. "Yes, light would be good." He says quietly, "but make it toward the back of the room so that there is less chance of people with-out noticing it peaking around the crates in the doorway."
"If you want to find money, then we could always try delving into lost Sarbreen." Gulgrym says with a shrug. "This is exactly the sort of place where people are always finding entrances to the ruined city of the hammer."
"Perhaps it would be best to leave the authorities out of it entirely." Gulgrym says. "The legal system here is a bureaucratic nightmare, and often law and justice have very little to do with one another in this city. The criminals that confronted us are unlikely to go to the guard, and I would advise that we act similarly. As to being assaulted in the street, the guard expects it in that part of town, and will be unlikely to bring any sort of satisfaction for you. That district is too wild for them, that is why they seldom patrol there." He pauses and looks at Tobal in the dim light, "You handled yourself well out there" He says to the barbarian, "I hope that Voran's prayer mended you well enough to not be at a disadvantage should we need your strength and steel again."
"My good gnome, it wasn't the guards I was worried about, all of the pimps talk about us not knowing who he was had me worried that he had conections in the larger comunity of this lawless section of town, and I did not feel like being torn to peices or lynched by an enraged mob this morning." Gulgrym says as he finishes washing up. "I didn't mean to kill the guy, only teach him a lesson, from all his big talk you would think that he would have been tougher."
Gulgrym crawls into the hole and looks around. Once he determines that it is safe to do so, he starts washing his hands off with his waterskin, and also cleans up any blood that got onto his clothing to the bset of his ability, while cursing himself for not having brought along a spare set.
sounds like a wonderful time for option b from above, so...
"We need to get off of the street." Gulgrym says with an edge of urgancy in his voice while looking around at the gathering crowd. "Voran, can your new friend show us a safe place to rest and catch our breath for a few moments before we continue on to see the hunter?" he continues, indicating the beggar with a wave of his hand.
I am posting out of order because I am going to be indisposed the rest of the day, this is what Gulgrym does on his turn (which should come right after Tobal's and also assumes that the Half-orc is still up.)
Gulgrym quickly moves across the field of battle, putting himself into a better position. "Time to join your friend," he says in the same low, menacing voice, "in Hell". Then he trusts his weapon at the raging half-orc.
Gukgrym moves from 3h to 2I and then to 3J, going around the prositutes, and putting himself in a flanking position, using up 3 of his six squares of movement. He then attacks the Half-orc, getting all of the same modifiers as he did last round against Guy (assuming that tobal is still up and in front of the half-orc)
If Tobal takes care of the half-orc, use the following instead
Gulgrym uses his free hand to shove the harlot that is being pushed toward him aside while he thrusts at guy with his rapier. "bottom feeders like you make me sick!" Gulgrym said his voice low and menacing. "You should have just f*cked off when I told you to, now you and your friend are gonna be cut down in the street like the dogs you are."
Gulgrym attacks guy, he has a BAB of 0, + 2 for strength and + 2 for flanking, giving hims a total attack bonus of +4, His critical threat range is 18-20, if he hits he deals 1d6(base)+2(Str)+1d6(sneak attack) for a total of 2d6+2 points of damage.
Patricio Calderón wrote: Gulgrym do you proceed with what you said Yes.
"Protect the beggar, and keep track of his so that we can question him after later." Gulgrym says loudly to Voran as he explodes into motion. Gulrym draws his rapier and moves forward to H3 so that him and Tobal have Guy flanked).
If he has goes before Guy it will be a normal move (because being Flat-footed Guy doesn't get attacks of opportunity) but if Guy beats his initative he will try to tumble to aviod the AoO, Gulgrym has a +8 to tumble checks should it come up).
"Used the last of my money paying for the Inn this morning." Gulgrym whispers to the amnesiac man in response to his request for a loan. "That is part of the reason I am so pissed off at this ugly MoFo here for trying to rob us."
gulgrym thinks about this area of the city, trying to determine if the city guards are likley to get here quickly if violence errupts ( he will use local knowledge, he has a +7 modifier). He is also watching tobal and the two pimps, if it looks like violance is going to happen, he will be prepared to jump in as well. (as soon as anybody else decides to roll for initiative Gulgrym will as well, his initiative modifier is +8).
Gulgrym sighs and drops his hand to the hilt of his rapier (but doesn't draw it). "This grows tiresome, beat it before I call the gaurds, you louts." He says to the threatening man... "And if you are wise you will refrain from telling us how magnanimus you are a third time."
how close are these guys to Gulgrym and the others?
Gulgrym looks at the tall half orc and smiles, then looks back at the human... "F*ck off, and take your harlots with you." he says, his smile never wavering "We are helping out Sgt. Martiy of the city guard and don't have time to play games with whores and pimps."
Ignoring the harlots, Gulgyrm eyes the beggar... "that could well be the man we seek, where can we find this hunter you speak of?"
Gulgrym looks at the amnesiac, "these wouldn't happen to be the ladies that you 'remember' would they?" he says with a slight smirk on his face.
Gulgrym seems to ignores the doxy's and the beggar, while sneakily keeping an eye on the later in a not too obvious manner. "Come my friends, let us not be distracted." he says queitly to those around him.
Gulgrym glances back to make sure that the others are following behind. "Hopefully we can find out what we need to quickly. This isn;t the best part of town." He says to the gnome. "Besides it would be nice to get out to the spot where our new friend was attacked before it gets to late in the day."
Gulgrym moves forward to 6H, he will scan the street ahead over the top of the gnomes head.
Gulgrym follows Voran. His hadns are empty, but are resting near his belt with in ewasy reach of his rapier.
Gulgrym keeps an sharp eye out for pick pockets.
"Indeed, I do not expect you to catch the pick pocket... nor do I overly care if you do." Gulgrym says, "But my gnomish friend here was most insistant, so I gave you what I could as best I remembered. In anycase, the real reason we are here is to find out the identities of the Hunters that brought the injured man into town, and perhaps thier location so we can go question them."
Gulgrym smiles and describes the halfling pick pocket to the officers.
Gulgrym admires the gnome's industriusness, and follows him to the gaurds post.
Patricio Calderón wrote: A knowledge roll of 10 or gather information roll of only 5 can give you the place.
"Fret not, friend Aravilar. Money is a fleeting thing, it comes and goes like water through a sieve, yet there is always more to be found... I am sure your pouch will be bulging again soon."
While he is saying this Gulgrym is thinking hard, trying to remember where Seargent Martyi's office is, so the group can attempt to go see him and find out the identities of the Hunters that brought Avan in.
Seeing Aravilar scambling to find his money pouch, Gulgrym shakes his head. "Beshaba's brassiere, That halfling in the street! It looked like he was going for a try at lifting your purse, but I thought he had missed his opportunity when he passed you with out a bump... he must have nimble hands indeed." He says to the elf.
Gulgrym looks at Tobal and the half-elf standing just outside the door. "You two have been pretty quite latley, What is it that you think we should do at this juncture?"
Gulgrym shakes his head, "I can't remember ever hearing of this other merchant, so I can't say for certain if speaking with him would be fruitful or not..." He pauses for a moment... "I am begenning to think that taking a look at the attack sight might be the best way to go about finding clues as to Avan's past, but for that we will need to look up Seargent Martyi again to get the names and locations of the hunters that brought him in."
Gulgrym stands there in thought for a moment, racking his mind trying to remember anything about a merchant named Targub.
"Should we seek out the merchant, or the hunters who found our forgetful friend?" Gulgrym says, and then glancing at Aravilar he contiues. "Either way looks to be more walking for you, heh."
"Well, we are not selling at the moment, good sir." Gulgrym says smiling at the cobbler. "This man here has a pair of boots that seem to have been purchased here," He continues, indicating the nameless man, "and we were hoping you could tell us a little bit more about him, as he seems to have lost his memory... my, thats a right smart looking boot you are working on right there."

Gulgrym roll Knoledge local. If you prefer I can do it for you in order to not to be "lured" to reroll a low result.
Gulgrym turns to Aravilar. "The cobbler's not far now".
"Everybody ready to go see the cobbler?" Gulgrym says, comming entering the room where his companions are getting ready for the day. "I can lead us there when ever you are all prepared. Torchtown is a bustling buisness district, so any shopping that Nameless here needs to do can be done there as well." He glances around, and then takes a seat next to Aravilar. "After we visit the cobbler, we should probably try to find the hunters that brought him in, so that one of them can lead us to the area of the attack."
After conferring quietly with the Sargeant, Gulgrym returns to be closer to the injured man. "Do you feel up to walking about, sir?" he asks. "I think I know who made your boots, perhaps he can tell us something about you."
"I feel for your plight." Gulgrym says shaking his head saddly. Then with a wry smile he spreads his hands and says "Welcome to Raven's Bluff."
Upon observing the fact that the injured man appears to have forgotten his own name Gulgrym leans forward and quietly says to Aravilar "That is sure to complicate matters further, hopefully in buying the boots he gave the cobbler his name by way of conversation."
"We have done nothing to you, my good fellow" Gulgrym says, looking at the injured man. "I am Gulgrym Raethorn." He continues, "and as to what is going on here... we were just trying to determine who you are, and who could have done this to you. As Tobol here says, it is good to hear you speak, but from your initial questions it seems that your memory of the attack on you may be fogged to the point of not being able to help us determine who left you in such a sorry state. Let us hope that some recollection of the events returns with rest."
Gulgrym looks at the boots thoughtfully for a moment, and then wanders back over toward Aravilar. "I have seen boots such as this for sale at the shop of a cobbler in Torchtown, perhaps we could go ask him if he remembers selling to this man, if so, he might know who our unfortunale victim is." he says quietly. "In any case, it doesn't appear that we will get any more answers here, lest wise not until this poor fellow awakens."
Patricio Calderón wrote: As far as I can see, this PBP has started badly. I thought the posters would be eager to start playing but that was not the case since I can't see the rest of the party. I understand the daily life commitments and lack of time make its part but the only reason we are here posting is because we enjoy this and we always find time to do things that really interest us. And mybe that is not the case. unfortuanly I was indisposed yesterday, something that almost never happens, and so could not post until late last night... believe it or not I am eager to get on with the game :)
I also have finaly created this Alias to make it easier to tell who I am in the game.
C. Wesley Clough
Gulgrym asks "Was he found near the docks by any chance?" as he looks the man over with the others, especialy interested in whether or not he can determine any details about the man.
he is looking for approximate age, height, body size, hair and eye color, possible profession based upon his clothing etc.
looking up from the injured person Gulgrym looks at the sgt. "Is he the only person to be found in such a state recently? or have there been other attacks such as this, either of strangers or of citizen of the city?"
while he is asking Gulgrym will also try to make a knowlege (local) check to see if he has heard of any similar attacks in ravensbluff recently, he has a +7 on knowledge (local, Ravensbluff)
