OK, back from Thanksgiving break. I don't have any preparations I need before heading out.

Sense Motive on Lenin: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

"I don't know anything about a note either."

Bluff: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 3

"Very well. A picnic with the ladyfolk is not my idea of a good time anyway."

Grollus mumbles something about Terflynn's hygiene, but agrees.

Perception to notice the note, Sense Motive to see if I can tell what Embrianna read.

Perception:1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Sense Motive:1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

Grollus follows Terflynn and helps him tend to the horses.

Grollus nods at Terflynn's suggestion. "A hunt might be nice. Is there anything especially dangerous around here?"

Grollus also watches the woman carefully from his seat behind the horses, his hand casually draped on his whip in case of trouble.

"I'd wager I wouldn't fool many in a disguise. I have one of those faces people don't trust. Perhaps I could remain hidden inside the wagon?"

Grollus visits the library, and inquires about the workings of devils.

Grollus joins the others at the table, silently scarfing down food as part of his recovery from the battles of the day before.

Grollus eyes Terflynn warily before sliding under the blanket. "Sadly, my whip and I are both exhausted from the battle. Sleep cannot come to quickly for me."

Grollus takes the bed next to Embrianna, hanging his coiled whip on the bedpost. "The Nightfall Scion certainly moves quickly. It's been years since I made a habit of entering someone's bed so so soon after meeting."

Are these banes that we're naming only if we took that special deal on the bane weapon? Because I didn't.

"I, Grollus Ardensmith, now in the presence of the Heavens, do declare from my heart, without reservation, that Patriarch is the true and only Head of the Church throughout the earth, and that by virtue of the keys of binding and loosing he has power to dispose evil in all forms and they may safely be destroyed. Therefore, to the uttermost of my power, I will defend the Nightfall Scion.

"All of which I, Grollus Ardensmith, do swear which I am about to receive, to perform on my part, all of Heavens witness my real intentions to keep this my oath.

"And what if I choose not to swear this oath? Why must I pledge allegiance to any authority other than the Lady herself?"

Grollus hangs his whip on his belt, and positions himself by the fountain.

Just in case, look over the fountain for traps.

"I have been fighting evil for many years. How have I never encountered this group before?"

Grollus scrambles to his feet, clambers over the dead lycans as he rounds the grease on the ground, and approaches the giant beast.

Grollus swings again from the ground.

Grollus lashes out from the ground, swinging at the weakest-looking enemy.

Grollus steps back beside Thak, and swings his whip.

Grollus takes a mighty swing at the nearest Lycan.

Grollus steps back to fight side-by-side with Alfred, and lashes out with his whip against the lycan threatening him.

Grollus climbs down from the cart, and casts Protection from Evil on himself, readying his whip for the attack.

"On what do you intend to try out the ballista? With only a few exceptions, the wildlife here has done us no harm."

A whip deals no damage to any creature with an armor bonus of +1 or higher or a natural armor bonus of +3 or higher. The whip is treated as a melee weapon with 15-foot reach, though you don't threaten the area into which you can make an attack. In addition, unlike most other weapons with reach, you can use it against foes anywhere within your reach (including adjacent foes).

You no longer provoke attacks of opportunity when attacking with a whip. You can deal lethal damage with a whip, although you can still deal nonlethal damage when you want. Further, you can deal damage with a whip despite a creature's armor bonus or natural armor bonus.

There's a space right below her on the map, isn't there?

Grollus steps back beside the heavily-armored faithful of Shelyn, drawing his whip and lashing out with full fury at the largest wolf.

Grollus spies the group chatting (relatively) amiably on the end of the bridge, and approaches cautiously.

"Either you're poor hosts, or I wasn't the only one invited to this rendezvous. My name is Grollus Ardensmith; well met."

Grollus pauses on the bridge, alternating his attention between the shadowy figure ahead, and the others approaching from behind. He unhooks his whip from his belt, and waits.

Grollus Ardensmith treads cautiously onto the bridge, vigilant for signs of an ambush. His hand rests warily on the whip at his belt. May you live through the night, the note said. Well, he'd lived through many nights darker than this.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20, 25 visual

Thanks for letting me in! I guess I forgot to put it in my profile, but I intended my alignment to be Chaotic Good, actually.

And for a code name, how about "Demonscourge"?

I've expanded on my backstory as well.

I can fix the mount in my gear, but I'd really rather not play a female.

Just FYI, I've got some backstory in the profile now, and I've reworked the gear.
