I'm going to withdraw from this game. My work load has recently increased, and now I'm starting back at school. I'm having a hard time keeping up on all the PBP, so I'm cutting back a bit. Thanks GM Tribute for running us, and I hope you all enjoy the rest of the adventure! Hopefully I will see you all around the boards again someday.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

We definitely don't have to do that. I'm just playing her the way she would be. She kinda hates orcs (despite being half of one).

With the Captain

"If they're united you can bet your ball-hair they have some big f@$#er 'round ter lead 'em. Maybe we might could hop on over there and take him out for you? Do you know any hidden ways into the garrison?"

Grendolynn is happy to help with the work of setting up shop. She was a hired hand for the caravan after all. The sight of so many of her cousins in one place sets her on edge, though. Just get through this as quickly as possible.

"Ewww. You f~$@ed an ogre for money? You're a dirty whore," Grendolynn says to Jasper. She makes a disgusted face at him, and stands as far away from him as possible. What a s$#*-pig...

"Talk!" Lynn says in orcish to the prisoner, leveling her still-bloody falchion at his throat.

Take 10 on intimidate for a 14, 12 if FE doesn't add to it.

"They were directed to attack a caravan with Jasmalus in it," Grendolynn shares with the other caravan guards.

Grendolynn sputters awake, and coughs up some blood. "Thanks, Amarisa..." she mutters once she realizes what happened. She stands slowly to her feet and looks around. "Guess we won then, eh?"

Lynn lays in a puddle of her blood, drooling.

Ah, derp. I just realized I'm at -6.

Stabilize: 1d20 + 1 - 6 ⇒ (16) + 1 - 6 = 11 Pass

So...do I fall off my horse?

Ride check if needed: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 2 - 4 = 7

Yes, it is one of the many things that doesn't make sense in Pathfinder rules vs the real world. It does make sense from a game balance/rules perspective though. I always go with RAW, but this is your game. I just prefer any house rules to be explicitly stated so we're not in for any surprises :)

Them's the rules. People aren't 5' cubes either. It's supposed to simulate how much space you "control".

Lynn charges between the trees towards the orcs near Malik. She screams wordless battle cries at them. She leans from the saddle and using the momentum of her horse, cuts the orc clean in half at mid-torso.

Attack (charge, bless, power attack, FE): 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 27
Crit Confirm: 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 4 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 20
Damage: 4d4 + 18 + 4 ⇒ (1, 1, 1, 3) + 18 + 4 = 28

Grendolynn rides her horse back out of the forest and onto the trail.

Double move 80'.

Cool! In most games I've been in mounts last about 1 combat. :p

So my horse is dead or has broken legs, right?

Hooboy...

Ride check: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 2 - 4 = 18

Oooh yeah.

Grendolynn continues to chase the orc down the path, then veers off slightly into the tree line to follow it. She swings her heavy blade down at the orc's head as she rides up behind it. "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAr!"

Move action; move 40' to orc.
Attack (Bless, PA, FE): 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 5 + 1 - 1 + 2 = 19
Damage (FE, PA): 2d4 + 6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 + 3 + 2 = 17

Perception: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 4 + 2 = 25

"Ain't no Gwenn here! Call me Lynn," Grendolynn growls over her shoulder. "Anyway, nah, just the single sumb%$**. That's gonn' change real fast we don't cut him down, though!"

"On it!" Grendolynn cries, leaping onto her mount.

Surprise Round
Free action: 5' step to mount.
Ride check: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (12) + 2 - 4 = 10 Fail
Move action: Mount horse.

Round 1
Full round action: Double move on horse 80' towards orc, drawing falchion as I go.

I never said I was burying anyone, but okay. Where is my horse then? I'm not going to catch him on foot in armor, and not that great at ranged combat. Or maybe someone has a spell that can keep it from getting away or something? We don't want him telling his friends we're here.

I'm afraid I don't really understand the map at all beyond the road and wagons. I don't see an orc or any of us, just a bunch of green and black squares.

Perception (FE): 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 4 + 2 = 13

Grendolynn rides after the orc, drawing her sword.

Double move towards it, run if possible.

"There's what look like orc tracks here y'all!" Grendolynn announces. She shows them to anyone who's interested. My father's folk being about never's a good omen. Wonder how many of us are going to die out here? "Reckon we ought to go after 'em?"

Grendolynn draws her sword, and rides forward, scanning the night for hidden threats.

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Grendolynn rides along at the front of the group on her new horse, trying to get to know it. She keeps alert for danger, but doesn't spend a lot of time socializing with the others unless they approach her first.

"I'll take a horse and kit. Normal saddle is fine for me though," Grendolynn says. She gives the merchant 141 gold pieces.

"Is there a stables in Greatwall? I'd love to purchase a warhorse. Anything not trained for combat is more of a liability than an asset in my experience," Grendolynn asks the plump merchant.

Fernand d'Apcher wrote:
"A named sword?" he asks. "The confidence there makes me feeling better already. What about things on four legs, though?"

"I reckon them kinda things don't usually bother a body unless you go about botherin' them first," Grendolynn replies to Fernand. After the sergeant's exhortation to genocide she simply nods. "Got it."

"I've never been lost yet!" Grendolynn boasts. She grins proudly at her proclamation. Clearly she considers herself a skilled survivalist. "Got Boneslicer here if any of them snags happen to be the sort what walk on two legs," she adds as an afterthought, patting her falchion.

"I've never been this way before either," Grendolynn admits. She shrugs. "As Dolleen says, I'm sure finding our way will be the least of our worries."

Grendolynn nods. "Not sure why you picked me, sir, but I'm always willing to do a job for Taldor. Pay ain't half bad either..." she says, grabbing her own sack of "incidental" money. Incidental!? I've never had this much money in my hand at once before. Gozreh's hermaphroditic nethers! Its makes a body worry just to to feel the weight. Her expression is one of poorly contained surprise and worry as she looks down at the bag. Clearing her mind, she tucks the purse away. Then Gren looks to her new companions. "My name's Grendolynn, folks, I'm a wilderness guide. How about y'all?"

Grendolynn looks up from her whiskey with look of surprise on her face. Wanted by the Greatwall Guard!? What did I do now? She slides her hand surreptitiously (she hopes) down to the hilt of her dagger. Standing slowly, she turns to the sergeant. "What's this about?"

Ready for review.

DM Jelani here, I will recycle this profile into something that meets your character creation requirements.

I'm actually gonna have to not join this game after all. As much as I want to, RL is demanding I reduce my PBP load. Thanks for the offer DM Tareth, good gaming to you all.

Guess we'll find out.

I'd prefer to be a stranger, with a writ from Restov. Same as y'all but we've never met before.

I don't really have the gumption to read the entire gameplay thread. Is it cool if I just get introduced? Grendolynn wouldn't know the group anyway, why do I need to know out of character?

The weekend has arrived, and with it hopefully enough free time for me to actually read the gameplay thread.

When she was a little girl, living with goblins, her tribe was evil. Her biological father particularly so. So she's a "self-hating" goblin, with human culture.

I still need to read the thread. Grendolynn hates goblins. She thinks they are evil scum (because her tribe and father were as a little girl). If she came across them, she'd likely kill them outright. At the very least make them leave the stolen lands.

In both her games they haven't encountered anything but bandits yet, she's usually on the side of executing them, because that's the law. However if the rest of the group strongly argues against it, she gives in due to wanting to avoid conflict with her own group.

This will be the 3rd kingmaker game she's gone into. Every time she's gotten into arguments with the group softy about killing the bandits. >_>*

Hope that doesn't happen again. Maybe I'll just throw that part of her personality out the window and change her to CG or something. So she'll be down with all the annoying and unnecessary rehabilitation of bandits because it's "good".

I need to level up to level 2, and read you guy's gameplay thread. But then I'll be good to play, however you want to introduce me.

Stellan asked me to check it out, said the DM was down. I will await confirmation before making further disturbances to your game.

Hello, new possible recruit here sneakin' around yer thread.

I'm going to withdraw from this. It was great when we started, but now it's just too slow. We haven't had a post from the DM in over a week because of his cold or whatever, and before that it was the LARP etc. Sorry guys.

Thanks for the chance to play DM, hope you feel better. Good luck in conquering the stolen lands everyone.

"Whelp. Someone's gonna get killed this way, but whatever." Grendolynn growls, jogging into the underbrush towards the sounds of battle with her shield and a spear drawn.

I will run for 4 rounds, that's 240 feet. Then double move round five.

I aint going nowhere. He should stick to the plan, or he's gonna get us all killed.
