OOC: Hey Kyrt. Everything alright on your RL end? Just wanted to check in since this thread has been quiet for awhile. I'll keep checking though.
Hey guys, just wanted to give a bump. I wasn't sure if we are waiting on kyrt's site to be up or not. Hopefully we can get back in here soon.
Flipping a coin is always good. Leave it up to chance. HAHA
NM, next level is way to sweet to give up. Hunter's bond, evasion and a 2nd level spell. I would have to be nutz to give that up. HAHA
kyrt-ryder wrote: Been working on the rogue off and on, but I've been really busy and it's a delicate class.
Just a couple of things to point out.
A: We already have a fighter joining, so somebody else will be playtesting that. (Feel free to multi-class if you like, but I hope I did make high ranger levels appealing. Afterall every few levels you get a new favored terrain or a new favored enemy and they stack)
B: Losing BAB is a big deal in this revision, there are several combat options that just aren't available to those with less than full BAB (though most of them admittedly do come up after iterative attacks do, I intend to have this game go up to at least 8th level)
So I'll try to get that rogue revision completed as soon as I can, but think hard about whether or not you want to give up your full BAB status.
Yeah, I am not really sure. The Ranger is definitely appealing at higher levels. I will think more on it.
Hey Kyrt, do you have a revised rogue?
I am thinking about multiclassing with fighter. What do you guys think? or rogue.... hmmmm hard choices.
"We can leave when the sun rises. I believe it would be foolish to travel at night in this region." Gorgrom looks up as he finishes his sentence and stares out into the woods. "We know not what lurks in the dark here."
As Gorgrom realizes Feres has awakened, he looks up and speaks with a sly grin. "Welcome back to the realm of the conscious friend. The creature was undoubtedly more powerful than the first time, but I can honestly say, he is never coming back. Would you care for a dragon scale hat?" Gorgrom asks with a chuckle. "In all seriousness, I will be able to inlay your chain shirt with scales to provide you some protection from fire."
Feeling the rush of energy engulf him, Gorgrom closes his eyes, feeling refreshed, then opens them back up and looks at Feres again. "Thank you. I have no plan. Do you still care to travel to Tre'age?"
Welcome Nightflier. Do you have a race picked yet? Just curious.
kyrt-ryder wrote: Uh...huhh.... so tell me Gorgrom... back when you were put through your test of manhood... is your niceness the reason you enjoyed gutting your human mother alive and feasting on her heart while she watched?
(Yes, Temple of Doom reference lmao)
You told me we wouldn't bring that up. That has nothing to do with my niceness.
kyrt-ryder wrote: Gorgrom the Relentless wrote: Take your time Feres, I can keep you unconscious if you want ;) j/k Unconscious? Pft, why bother? Just gut him and string him up and use him as a peace offering to the wolves lmao hahah, did you see my edit. I'm really a nice Half-Orc. I swear.
Take your time Feres, I can keep you unconscious if you want ;) j/k
I was thinking. Max, Feres has that nice wand of cure light wounds if you don't mind me using it on you.
It may be better for him anyway, I have a spell that does that. I will inlay the scales in Feres' mithral chain shirt.

You can either make it into a chain shirt itself, which will take more time and require that you deal with the leather bla bla, (should be able to get it in 10 hours work or so) or just a few hours inserting the scales to an existing set of chainmail. I will let them soak then. As for the chain shirt, could I will make it from scratch, since I don't have existing chainmail. 10 hours isn't that long. I actually was kind of hinting at your partner's mithril chain shirt lmao, gotta spread the treasure love out at the baseline. But, your welcome to make it from scratch, so go for it if that's what you want. That's fine, I forgot about his shirt. I will do that Sorry tried to be a treasure hoarder.

I have a couple questions I posted in my entries in the game thread. Just letting you know Kyrt.

After Gorgrom finishes patching Feres up to the best of his ability, he stands up and looks toward the side of the road for a relatively clear spot to camp, (Survival 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26+2 if Temperate Forest then moves Feres and starts to build a fire. After finishing setting up camp Gorgrom walks over to the dead body still lying in the road bleeding. Gorgrom grabs the body and drags it over to a tree near the camp and strings it up upside down allowing the rest of the blood to escape. He then pulls out his kukri and begins to skin the body very carefully to not damage the scales and also removing the flame-producing bladder. After Gorgrom finishes skinning the body, he grabs the separated head and proceeds to knock out all of the usable teeth, preparing to make his arrows. He then sits down next to his injured friend and begins to craft his new items.
Craft (Arms & Armor) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 to produce Dragonhide Chain Shirt and special arrows. Heal check for long term care for Feres if I can do it at the same time 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
OOC: Now the dice love me! Do I need 2 separate craft checks for each?
Kyrt, would I need 2 separate Craft skills? One being Craft (Arms) and the other Craft (Armor).
Very Nice! and very entertaining. I am taking weapon focus (bows) as we discussed and will put skill points in the suggested skills. Roll for hit points 1d6 + 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (6) + (1) + 4 = 11. I enjoyed that critical far too much ;) Poor Feres had to taste my blade first. At least now he knows how sharp it is LOL.
As the blade cleaves through the Dracobalds neck, the searing hot blood came down on Gorgrom's arms (Reflex 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22) burning his skin as he pulled back. Seeing the bastard's head separated from it's body put a slight grin on Gorgrom's face till he remembered Feres was dying on the ground opposite of them. Rushing to his side Gorgrom grabs some cloth to cover the wound (Heal Treat Deadly Wounds 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22) and manages to close it up. "I am sorry about that Feres. That creature was a tricky one." Gorgrom mutters as he places his backpack under the friar's head. "I am going to move us off the road and make camp. I have some work to do with its remains while you heal." Gorgrom tells Feres as he looks over, eyeballing the corpse.
OOC:Current HP 11. Would I use his new 3 hit dice when calculating HP healed by my check? If so it healed 6 points. Oh yeah and WOOHOO level!
Seeing his blade veer off toward Feres, Gorgrom could only watch as the falchion dug deep into the priest's leg. "Feres!" Gorgrom rumbled as he clapsed to the ground gushing blood. Just then the Dracobald's claw cleaved through and struck Gorgrom in the chest, making him let out a gasp for air. Gorgrom then draws back and looks the creature in the face. "Your tricks will not save you, dragon scum!" Taking a defensive stance and focusing his blade on the Dracobald's stomach once more, Gorgrom swung with all his might praying to his ancestors again for justice.
Attack 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Crit Confirm 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Damage 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (4, 1) + 11 = 16
OOC: Current HP 15, Move action for +4 AC puts me at AC 22, Swift action for +2 Attack. Not sure about the damage bonus total, above did you take the total of bonuses and then multiply by 1.5? Man I wish that crit hit.
kyrt-ryder wrote: Just wanted to thank you guys for sticking it out with me. There's been a lot going on lately and I've neglected the game. I'd like to get to a good 'end of chapter' so to speak, before the christmas so after new years or whatnot we can start on the private forum (complete with proper pages detailing all the rules and classes and feats and spells and such!)
At any rate, thanks guys (and thanks for posting despite the long absense of posts Friar, just the kick in the ass I needed to get back into motion.
This time I'll get all the posts done on my PC first and post them in rapid succession, rather than post one at a time and risk getting dragged away with it partially completed. I will post all of you guys by tomorrow at the latest.
Sounds good! It is good to have you back.
kyrt-ryder wrote: Gorgrom the Relentless wrote: Sorry, I expected to be able to post while I was gone, but my time got murdered. I am here and ready. Alright. Should have the post up in an hour at most. Just curious, what do you think of having our own site and forum for the game? With pages of data for what's been revealed in the world so far, image posting capabilities, and... wait for it... the ability to edit posts! lol.
Yeah, that's what I've been working on, I'm hoping it was worth the effort. That would be pretty damn sweet. I will only be posting during the day, 8-5 US Central, until Thursday. AT&T has a bunch of tards working for them and they are taking forever hooking my internet up.
Sorry, I expected to be able to post while I was gone, but my time got murdered. I am here and ready.
kyrt-ryder wrote: Any of you guys on? I'm bored over here waiting to get back into action lol. I'm back! Who's turn is it in our fight?
OOC: Current HP 26
OOC: OH GEEZ! Did I pass my reflex for half fire?
OOC: What happens when they are equal?
kyrt-ryder wrote: Edit: dude... this filter cuts out the other spelling of the word 'but' used for a body part lmao, that has to be officially THE least offensive word I have EVER seen filtered online lol. OOC: HAHA, that is lame!
kyrt-ryder wrote: OOC: 2+2+2+2+3+1+1
2 charge, 2 combat focus, 2 BAB, 2 Favored Enemy, 3 strength, 1 masterworked, 1 bardsong.
OOC: YAY! I can add. Maybe I should clarify. Feres isn't in the way of my charge is he?
Seeing the orange burst of flame and cinder billow out of the monster's mouth Gorgrom tries to sidestep the flames Relfex 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20 dropping his bow in the process.
Gorgrom then makes a dash for the Dracobald while at the same time drawing his falchion. "You remember this blade, don't you? It is a pity it will end your life two times now." Gorgrom taunts with a faint grin emerging from his scowl.
Charging Falchion Attack w/ Combat Focus 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28 Damage 2d4 + 8 ⇒ (4, 1) + 8 = 13
OOC: That's gotta hurt! Kyrt, can you make sure I have my numbers right? That is a lot of bonuses.
OOC: Forgot Feres +1's. That will be 25 to hit and 12 damage.
"Whoever brought you back from the dead, should have learned the first time!" Gorgrom yells seeing the Dracobald move to attack Feres and use him for cover.
Gorgrom immediately moves out diagonally from his position to get a clear shot, staying 15ft from the Dracobald.
Bow Attack 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (12) + 12 = 24 Damage 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (3, 1) + 7 = 11
OOC: At 31HP Still. Also using a swift action to combat focus
Baldoin Balagtas wrote: Haha, haven't noticed the game picked up again. time for Baldoin to move his ass. I was wondering when you were comin back. :)
OOC: That sucked
"Watch yourself Feres. This is the bastard who attacked me earlier outside of Trask."
OOC:Edited post above yours
Reflex Save 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
As Gorgrom tries to dodge the enveloping flame he realizes this is the good for nothing Dracobald that almost killed him earlier. Seeing the mut again, Gorgrom grits his teeth and yells "Get off my back scum!" While letting an arrow fly.
Attack with Bow 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24 Damage 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (1, 1) + 7 = 9
OOC: 31 HP. Good to be back in the saddle :)
EDIT: HAHAHA 2 ones! Damnit
kyrt-ryder wrote: First off, I already had a few ideas like that in mind V-P, though the tower may have something to say about that ;) (remember this is a moderately high level world, you guys are fresh scrubs. Infact I'm anticipating leveling you guys sometime soon.)
And Gorgrom, it's going to be a while before you make it, but I'm sure Aydan could use a sniper to deal with... *ahem* political opposition ;) (though you may pick up an alignment change from that lol, depending on how you handle it, your perspective, motive, etc.)
All in all, should be alot of fun.
Sorry I disappeared for a few days guys, grandma had a heart attack, dad got drunk and was going to blow some people up and stole a shotgun, yeah, it's been hell.
But, I am back (And with a PF Beastiary to boot!)
Glad to have you back at least. The Beastiary is nice too.
OOO OOO! Gorgrom would like to apply for the position of resident sniper. My falchion is quite deadly also.
You okay Kyrt? You've been MIA for a lil bit. Maybe I'm just used to seeing you on here more often.
With Feres' response, a slight frown forms on Gorgrom's face until he continues what he was saying. As Feres asks of his homeland, Gorgrom face goes grim. "I knew little of the the Land of Fire beyond Frum'Pul, until the Red Tyrant destroyed my village. I do not know where Xalanthos is, but I know I will end up there eventually." As Gorgrom finishes, he notices his fists are tightly clenched and relaxes them.
As the RROOAAARRR!!!! bellows behind the adventurers, Gorgrom spins and immediately knocks an arrow aiming towards the noise.
vagrant-poet wrote: Damn pity Cavalier hadn't been released when we'd started this game! I think I'm in love.
Kyrt, did you alter Leadership, or is it as it is in regular PFRPG?
Yeah, I believe cavalier could have been a pretty nice fit here. I like the concept of the oracle also, but am not sure until I get to play one.
Hey kyrt, I linked the thread for Michael. We'll see what he wants to play.

I know Gorgrom opposses the Red Tyrant! THE RED TYRANT SHALL DIE BY MY HAND! Wow, I hope you never get married, women tend to go turn into were-Red Tyrants monthly. Haha, I am married. It's not so bad once you've been with somebody long enough.
Hey the guy from the other thread you ask if he wanted to join said sure. Just to let you know.

Oh yeah. Now I'm gonna have to kill 4 dragons! Oye, that's a lot of work.

Sorry for the pressure, but the more we discuss things here, the better the game can be. It's all about maintaining discourse among players and GM.
Weapon Focus longbow is a fairly sweet feat. If you take it at level 3 thats a +1 accuracy, and then a +2 damage once you hit level 4, so it's probably a better choice at the moment than Deadly Aim (ranged power attack) But I suspect that it's a rock solid feat for your 5th level, especially since by then you'll have picked up the option (and it is an option, you get to choose how much to sacrifice) to drop 2 points of accuracy for +4 damage. That sounds good! Happy to help my friend. Also, I remember your frustration with some non-core first level ranger spells, so I did a little digging around and found one I thought you might like.
** spoiler omitted **
Somewhat situational, but pretty nice to have in some situations, just throwing it out for your consideration. HA, Good stuff. I was just thinking today about the Arcane Archer's phase arrow ability. I believe you read my mind. That is a very nice spell for being a tad situational.
Are you gonna post for Max and I kyrt or am I waiting for Max? Just wondering, my other PbP's are kinda in a lull.
