FAQs != law.
The fact that somebody says "yes" in a FAQ does not preclude them from saying "no" in a lawsuit.
There's a good reason for the fact that despite the OGL being out there for 12 years, no major OGL-based release was ever made outside of a direct license with WotC.
The OGL is unlcear in regard to computer games. That's one of the reasons it's not being used in Pathfinder Online.
While Knights of the Chalice is around for a long time, you have to remember that WotC is an American company, and US IP law has that "you have to protect actively your IP" general rule, so you have to calculate the potential risk of being hit with a C&D.
Yeah, it's one of the best CS line books ever.

Just as planned.

Or rules for walking and chewing gum at the same time?
12. You sell your entire 3.5 WotC bookshelf (OK, except the monster books) because you realize you don't need it any more.

What Iggwilv says.
Companies in this industry don't share sales data, and Paizo is no exception.
The only thing that's more-or-less circulated is that as far as RPG's go, it's 60-70% USA/Canada and 40-30% R.O.W (well Europe mostly).
I'm sure that the people at the table would be thrilled if I told them that I'm playing a Commoner.
This is D&D. If somebody doesn't care for system mastery, he/she will always be behind those who do.
Everything in Dragon magazine (and thus in Dragon compendium) is closed content and WotC IP. So, no such chance.
Well, PFS is a competitive environment, in the "players vs scenario" sense. Everybody wants to complete the mod, get the prestige, advance further. Nobody will be pulling punches, or not taking Improved Initiative to go first, or not optimizing their characters to a degree.
39pb? Wizards blasting things as a valid tactic? "I get that they aren't as good of a warrior as Fighters or as good of casters as Wizards, but they are vastly better warriors than Wizards, and obviously 100% better casters than Fighters."?
You (and your group) apparently don't go for system mastery, and then along came somebody who plays a class to its full potential. Hence the drama.

Huh, at this rate I'm going to be *still* running my RotRL game that we started in March 2008 when this comes out so ... errr ... right on time, Paizo! :)
Yeah, I am actually more of an academic and a teacher (academic teacher folks, no children are being harmed by my vitriolic snark in everyday life) than a practising lawyer, but I do get to write "practical" stuff every once in a while.
What I am NOT is an expert on labour law ("how many days of sick leave have I left this year?"), which none of my friends seem to understand...
I thought it was "cyclopi"!

Nope; no plans at this point to ever stat them up because theyr'e gods and thus mortals can't kill them by using the rules anyway. This is a perfectly valid viewpoint, and I know a lot of gamers who agree, but I don't care for it simply because it ignores the desires of those who do want stats for gods, unless they want to go through the (admittedly cumbersome) trouble of building them themselves via the 3.0 rules, the Immortal's Handbook, or something else.
By contrast, having stats for gods satisfies both camps much better, since those who want gods to be beyond stats can just say "nope, sorry, in my game we don't use those rules - gods are unbeatable by mortals."
In other words, better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Seeing as you are in the "cause headaches to GMs who have to go thru the motions and explain to the players just why are they ignoring printed campaign setting material" I'd say that you really don't care. :P
Great, more flumphs!
Gratz Daigle! May your flumphs forever be flmuphy!

But hey, as long as mocking the preferences of other posters is what gets you off, splooge away.
My long history of sparring with Mikaze (and my deep love for his Bestiary review posts) hopefully will lead to that being read as a friendly jab and nothing more.

Player Advocacy vs. GM Supremacy. ROUND TWO! Please stop trolling, we are having a discussion here. I'm not trolling. I'm showing that both you and Ashiel are entrenched in your respective camps, and neither of these camps is something that I subscribe to.
The fact that you react hostlie to any attempt to point that out only confirms my observations. :*

Mikaze - let's be frank, the only way this cover would see you fully happy would be if it featured two tiefling paladins, one of them of Shelyn and the other of Iomeadae, one of the bug-eyed with mandibles and the other with a purple worm's head, making sweet sweet love.
And you would complain about lack of Good orcs there, anyway.
:P
In Poland, the scale and magnitude of anti-ACTA protests led me to the conclusion that my fellow countrymen consider the ability to torrent movies, series, games and music a god-given right which they will fight for more fervently than against tax increases, budget cuts or aggressive reforms.

Paizo card packs are standardized at 52 cards, so something's gotta give.
Love how you guys handled 3.5 Loyalist :*

FIIIIGHT! Err. No. Yep!
"Players have full control over their spells, if Mister Cavern tries to limit that he's a rule-0 control freak" vs. "Game Master has control over everything, it's his prerogative".
The crux of many arguments here and there is the clash between these two visions of how RPGs should play out.
Player Advocacy Movement vs. GM Overlordship Association.
FIIIIGHT!
Telling a Wizard that all spells he gets is 2 per level, and that there are no magic item shops in the game, proceeded by handing out uber-useless magic items. Of course, that goes great with banning crafting feats.
Are your players murdering babies and painting signs with blood during game sessions? If yes, I'd carefully label them as evil and call the cops.
How to fix Monk:
Buy APG and UC (or just go to PRD if you're feeling cheap), problem more or less solved.
No it's not. It's overpowered for those who panic the moment they see more than 3d6 rolled at the same time.

We have our biggest convention (Pyrkon) coming up on 23-25 March. Attendance 4-5k, I'm holding a seminar on Golarion. Would love to get PFS off the ground here, but I'm not really sure where to start.
I'm considering PCUK if finances permit.
Hey Sincubus, it's cool that you are crapping over people who like different things, can I start crapping over something that you like?
Hello, 3.5 Duskblade discussion... missed you much, glad to see you back!
It's simple, you're saying that Wizard problems can be fixed by following rules. But you're not following any RAW, you're just arbitrarily handing out spells and disallowing magic item purchases. And you think that if there's a problem with RAW it's all-OK cause your rule 0 will fix it. That's Oberoni.
Also, what TarXT said. Clerics, Sorcerers, Oracles and Druids get a free ride while Wizards, Witches and Alchemists cry in the corner.
TarkXT wrote: ATron9000 wrote: Core rules state that the horse uses his action to move. They also state that you may make an attack at the end of its charge with charge bonus. Our faction interprets this as your mount makes the charge and you gain the bonus. This makes pounce illegal because you aren't using your charge to accomplish this. But what if I'm riding a dire tiger? Awww, curved ball! ;)

Hold on a moment! We are talking about the rules here. The only rule that actually gives a wizard spells 100% of the time is the Wizard write up about 2 spells per level. That's the whole argument. Gor thought he would throw the whole Ob Fallacy in there to try and justify his argument, which failed to do so. By your token because there are write ups on magic items in the back of the book then your character should get that item. The DM decides whether or not a wizard finds a spellbook, finds a place to buy spells, and which spells are able to be purchased. Magic Shops R "Us" don't exist in my games.
So first you're saying "we'll fix it using rules" which in your example amounts to "we'll fix it by having the GM make an arbitrary decision what spells does the Wizard have access to"?
Oberoni all the way, baby.
Dependent on campaign = dependent on GM. So it's down to "how anal the GM is". You like being an anal person? Fine, not everybody does! BTW, if you use magic item availablity rules from GMG you're pretty much sure to find scrolls for all Wizard spells for purchase without much trouble.
Costs - again, there's WBL for spell purchase... unless you're trying to tell me that Wizards should be verboten to spend their gp on spells or maybe they should get a small share in party treasure to compensate for their uberness? Analville again.
Since there are no precise rules for spell availability (so, it's up to GM), by following the (hey, rules-regulated) WBL there's more than enough money for spells, and since 15-minute-adventuring-day is perfectly legit by the RAW, I'm not sure what "following and enforcing" are you actually referring to.
