Rumors of strange occurrences brought you to the Hillsfar region. The vague and bizarre rumors ranged from leprechauns showering travelers with gold to undead armies terrorizing the many farmsteads.

The one rumor that turned out to be true was perhaps the wildest of all. All the non-human citizens within the walls of the city-state of Hillsfar were evicted. The only non-humans left in the city are the slaves who fight at the Arena. Fights to the death. Anyone not obviously human is turned away at the Hillsfar Gate, the only way into and out of the walled city.

You travel north on the Moonsea Ride, the often-used merchant road south of Hillsfar, which also navigates through expansive Cormanthor Forest. Others travel with or near you.

A muffled shout bursts from a copse of trees off the road, and an old human man wearing torn and bloody clothes staggers into view. The blood on his clothes comes from small cuts and scratches rather than any large wound. His charge toward you is slow, ponderous, and shaky. Before you can even draw weapons or ready spells, he collapses in the grass. He still shouts, however, although the words grow fainter and fainter with each passing moment.

Hello all,

As WotC as said all material is legal for play everywhere I have decided to run some stuff on the boards. I may have to skip around a bit but I would like to start off running the current season's opener adventure. 3-01 Harried in Hillsfar.

All DnDAL legal stuff is open for play and you must have a passing familiarity of the rules.

Characters will be created using the Adventure League rules. Ideally I would like to start next monday.

Chasin’ the Wind
Chicago, UCAS

Scene 1: Everyone Comes Knocking
8 January, 2075

What a surprise. It’s snowing in Chicago in January. As the wind howls outside, you thank the runner gods that you’re in a nice warm pub or, even better, in a nice warm bed, and not somewhere running around the Containment Zone for a fistful of nuyen or whatever barter you’d have to scrounge.

Then your commlink flashes the face of your fixer. ”Catch you at a bad time?”

Then again, it is nice to make a living.

Your fixer goes on. ”It’s strange. No sooner does the new mayor announce the reclamation program that the blz starts lining up. I got a job for you, omae, headed into the CZ. Johnson would like to meet in person in two hours. There’s a table reserved at Chicago’s Own Pizzeria in Northside. Watch the slip-n-slide out there, chummer.”

Parliament of Thieves
Denver, Pueblo Corporate Council

Scene 1
2 April 2062, roughly 2:00 PM

Getting used to life in The City of Shadows hasn’t been an easy process. As if the interplay of factions in the Shadow community weren’t tricky enough, the addition of four different countries and a bloody great dragon have kept you on the edge of your seat. There’s also that matter of adjusting to the thin air up here. It’s made your unplanned transition a little rocky, but things are starting to settle down. You’ve secured a place, and you’ve sent out a few feelers concerning your “line of work.”

This afternoon, it looks like those feelers have started to pay off. A few minutes ago, you received a call from somebody who’s on the fast track to being your best buddy ever. He called about a job. The meeting is at 4:30 at Denim, a nightclub in the PCC sector. There was an offhand mention that the Johnson was looking for “shiny new faces” who might act as neutral parties.

The meeting is scheduled for 4:30 PM. Denim is located at 10151 W. 26th Ave, in the Edgewater neighborhood of the Pueblo sector.

As the subject line states, I am recruiting 3-5 players to go through some published Shadowrun material. I will be using the standard creation rules presented in the Fifth edition core rulebook, however let's not get to crazy and stick as close to the basics with the metatypes presented in the core and run faster. I am wary about letting loup-garou, centaur, naga, AI, changeling, and vampire/nosferatu into a game. All published material is open and a familiarity with the rule set is appreciated but not required.

If you need help with character creation, I recommend chummer, and you can simply send me the file to make sure everything is balanced. I would also like to see a fairly balanced party. It also should be noted that I will start in the fifth season as it correlates to this edition. It takes place in Chicago and has some heck of Drain rules for spellcasters.

Recruitment shall remain open until otherwise stated.

Captured by the drow! You wouldn't wish this fate upon anyone, yet here you are-locked in a dark cave, the cold, heavy weight of metal tight around your throat and wrists. You are not alone. Other prisoners are trapped here with you, in an underground outpost far from the light of the sun.

Your captors include a cruel drow priestess who calls herself the Mistress Ilvara of House Mizzrym. Over the past several days, you've met her several times, robed in silken garments and flanked by two male drow, one of whom has a mass of scars along one side of his face and neck.

Mistress Ilvara likes to impress her will with scourge in hand and remind you that your life now belongs to her. [b]"Accept your fate, learn to obey, and you may survive." Her words echo in your memory, even as you plot your escape

Hoard of the Dragon Queen
Greenest in Flames

1488 DR, Eleint 8, Sundown
Just Outside the town of Greenest

For the past several days, you have been traveling a road that winds lazily across the rolling grasslands of the Greenfields. Sundown is approaching when you top a rise and see the town of Greenest just a few short miles away. But instead of the pleasant, welcoming town you expected, you see columns of black smoke rising from burning buildings, running figures that are little more than dots at this distance, and a dark, winged shape wheeling low over the keep that rises above the center of the town. Greenest is being attacked by a dragon!

Hello all, I am looking to recruit 4 to 5 player to play through Hoard of the Dragon Queen and possibly Rise of Tiamat. I am looking for well balanced and characters with a degree of depth, not necessarily a balanced party.

This will take place in the forgotten realms setting, so familiarity is a plus but not a requirement. Characters will be created using the 27 point buy system/standard array. No NE or CE alignments. No Aarokocora but all other races are in play, it should be noticed that I have a disdain for Dragonborn. Standard equipment according to class/background. Only WotC published materials will be allowed.

Additional rules that will be allowed include flanking provides advantage, and antagonists will be groups together according to type in initiative.

And before I get the question, yes variant humans and feats are allowed. I would like to start in a week but may extend this to the beginning of September.

Lost Mine of Phandelver
Part I: Goblin Arrows

The year is 1485 Dale Reckoning.
It is the 8th day on the second tenday in the Month of the Summertide.

In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple days' travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found "something big," and that he'd pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. he then set out ahead of you on horse along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to "take care of business."

You've spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You've encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. Bandits and outlaws have been known to lurk along the trail.

10 Nightal, or the 10th of the Drawing Down
Sunset

Our tale begins here, in the quiet fishing village of Easthaven. One of the so-called "Ten Towns" of Icewind Dale, the tiny community is hardly a town, but rather a collection of ramshackle huts crowded together upon the key shores of Lac Dinneshere. Here within a dimly lit tavern, a group of travelers sit huddled around a table, swapping tales and making grand plans for the future, completely unaware of the part they are to play in the events that are about to unfold.

10 Mirtul, the 10th of the Melting
Approaching Highsun

Nestled atop the cliffs that rise from the Sword Coast. The Citadel of Candlekeep houses the finest and most comprehensive collection of writings on the face of Faerun. It is an imposing fortress, kept in strict isolation from the intrigues that occasionally plague the rest of the Forgotten Realms. It is secluded, highly regimented, and it is home.

Within these hallowed halls of knowledge your story begins. You have spent most of the past 20 years of life within this keep's austere walls, under the tutelage of the sage Gorion. Acting as your father, he has raised you on a thousand tales of heroes and monsters, lovers and infidels, battles and tragedies. However, one story was always left untold: that of your true heritage. You have been told that you are an orphan, but your past is largely unknown.

Lately, Gorion has been growing distant from you, as if some grave matter weighs heavily in his heart. You have asked about his concerns as gently as possible, but your queries have been in vain. Your sole comfort is the knowledgethat he is a wise man, and you know he will tell you when the time is right. Nonetheless, his silence is troubling and you cannot help but feel that something is terribly wrong...

Today, Gorion has appeared more agitated than ever, and now he has uncharacteristically interrupted your chores in the middle of the day. Imparting hurried instructions for you to equip yourself for travel, he has handed you what gold he can spare, but given no clue as to why. Nevertheless, you now stand before the Candlekeep Inn, ready to purchase what you need for an unplanned and unexpected journey.

The title pretty much says it all. I am recruiting between 4 to 6 characters to undertake a cooperative conversion of the classic game Baldur's Gate. I will be doing a lot of the work but I do ask for some aid from player characters.

I have beaten the game once about 14 years ago and am replaying now. So that I can reacquaint myself with the story. All who are accepted into the game will be Bhaalspawn and will receive the added benefit of that in addition to their race.

An additional background will be awarded that will be entitled: Gorion's Ward.

I have only the bare bones of concept but you will have been a Ward of Gorion for 20 years.

All races, classes, backgrounds and alignments are open. I will form a party that has the best chance of working together and to generate subplots from.

Attributes will be generated with the 27 point buy method (with the exception that points may be dropped to as low as 6 on a 1 for 1 basis) or take the standard 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8. This is done out of the interest for fairness.

One difference from the game is that I will allow more than 5 NPC's to accompany you but I will adjust encounters to be an appropriate challenge.

I am looking for barebones crunch at the moment (List class, background, race, alignment) and at least a paragraph of background story.

Your orders are simple. Infiltrate the market square outside of Whitethrone, Irrisen and find information about Baba Yaga's Dancing Hut.

Your journey has brought you to Logrivich's Clock Tower. An entry point to the market place. To gain further entry you will need to make sure the White Queen is not alerted to your presence.

You may roll any applicable knowledge or social skills in order to gain further entry.

A small courtyard stands outside the clock tower behind a delicate-looking white picket fence made of bones. A single step leads to a landing and a recessed set of large double doors to the north, while to the east and west stand two stone statues depicting two women in identical poses , reaching skyward as if to catch a snowflake. Neatly trimmer evergreen bushes surround the statues.

I will get a map up by Monday.

Mom's Coming Home for Dinner
Hot Merchandise

Act I: Welcome to Seattle
Scene 1: The Chase

Date: May 27, 2085
Time: 1023 PST
Location: Heading West on I-90 in Cascade Mountains of Washington State

This morning started with a raid against a Dhohanoid breeding pit in the Cascade mountains and, for the last hour, has turned into a high-speed pursuit through Stevens Pass, down towards the Seattle arcology. Just as the Chrysalis Corporation clean-up team arrived earlier, three cars burst out of a side building and took off. Your team jumped into nearby cars and began the chase.

The Dhohanoids in the lead cars are maniacally driving at over 100 miles per hour in the outlying regions, and then drop to only about five miles over the speed limit in sections. They seem to know exactly when a cop is going to be around the next corner.

You may be in your own car, all piled into one, or any combination there of. Please work it out in the discussion thread.

Step One: Concept
Allegiance. (Allegiance is limited to Eldritch Society at this time. If they publish any NEG games I will allow you to make characters in order to play that as well and the games will be run independent of one another)

Profession. Society Sorcerers (Occult Scholars), Society Parapsychics, Tagers, Lorekeepers and Operators. I personally can see some former Soldiers being part of the Eldritch Society as well (The Grunts as to the Tagers Shock Troops).

Defining Characteristics and Names

Feats are half (rounded down) of your attribute rating.

Specializations may be purchased.

Assets cost skill points you may acquire up to 10 flaws as well

Step Four: Secondary Attributes

• Orgone – 5 + average of Intellect & Tenacity.
• Reflex – average of Agility, Intellect, & Perception.
• Vitality – 5+ average of Strength & Tenacity.

You have 6 cheat points. Invest wisely.

Step Seven: Making it Real.
Add detail and background, including physical description, personality, motivation, family, and friends.

The Sundered Path

Pathfinder Society Master of Spells Aram Zey stands impatiently in front of the Hao Jin Tapestry in the bowels of the Grand Lodge in Absalom. The extraplanar realm within the frayed cloth has been the talk of the Society since it was recovered as a prize at the Ruby Phoenix Tournament earlier in the year, and the fact that the Pathfinder leader waits here to deliver the assignment implies the mission will take place within the tapestry. Once the entire party is assembled before him, Zey begins speaking in a terse, no-nonsense tone.

“Behind me is one of the greatest treasures to come into the Society’s hands in decades—an entire demiplane containing some of Golarion’s greatest treasures, whisked away from the Material Plane by the legendary Tian sorceress Hao Jin. It should be ours alone to explore, but the Aspis Consortium has found another way into the isolated pocket dimension, and they’ve already begun plundering the treasures within with reckless abandon for the secrets they might contain.

“A recent expedition to observe one of the Consortium’s encampments uncovered a fact we must act upon quickly. Aspis Consortium agents within the tapestry are currently, or will shortly be, meeting with a tribe of ratfolk in a place called Round Mountain in order to form some sort of alliance. These ratfolk are incredibly powerful within the tapestry, and their influence stretches far beyond the mountain itself. If the Consortium allies themselves with such a dominant organization within the tapestry, our efforts to rid the demiplane of their encroaching filth will be all that much more difficult.

“Thus, you must stop them. Get to the ratfolk stronghold—a place known as the Pagoda of the Rat in a cavern at the center of the mountai —and prevent the Consortium from negotiating an alliance with the ratfolk there. Form such an alliance yourselves if you can, but your priority is preventing official cooperation between the ratfolk and the Aspis Consortium within the Hao Jin Tapestry. Prepare yourselves for a long journey, Pathfinders, because I fear you will not be able to easily return here until your entire mission is complete. I trust you will take the necessary precautions, but if you must return early, simply step back into the extraplanar eddy that will appear behind you when you arrive.”

The air is calm tonight, all your enhanced senses are detecting is the crackling of the campfire and the scent of cedar log burning. You find yourselves on the property of a small Craftsman house just to the southeast of town about a mile from the WA-305 pass onto Bainbridge Island reminiscing over the events leading up to your first time. That is the time before you became Uratha (The People, i.e. Werewolves) when you were still Nuzusul (a werewolf before the first change).

I want you to tell everyone a little about yourself, including how you look/dressed and who you were before the change, at this time you are werewolves. When you reminisce and we do flashbacks you will not be. My role in this part will be merely to help steer the conversation until you need interaction from NPC. After we have finished the First Change portion I will progress us further into it. Think of this as merely a fun way to to flush out your background with everyone being involved.

Venture-Captain Sheila Heidmarch glances out a window as the last wisps of twilight fade over the Fenwall Mountains. Turning from the sight, she runs her hand along the rustic cabin’s wall and stands beside an occupied wooden bed before addressing you.

“This,” the venture captain says, gesturing to the man thrashing around violently, straining against the bonds that lash him securely to the bed, “is our colleague, Kalkamedes. Every night for several weeks now, he has fallen into a deep slumber and tried to sleepwalk right out of his cottage. If not restrained, he marches straight north, eventually falling off a cliff or into a bog as if trying to get himself killed in an attempt to reach an unknown goal.” As though he were expressing disagreement, the man tied to the bed suddenly begins pumping his limbs even harder, the violent spasms threatening to smash the bed into splinters.

“There are those who have recently criticized the Pathfinders for our indifference to the plight of our fellow field agents. It’s time to show that’s not true. I want you to help Kalkamedes, whether he wants it or not. Several of our best spellcasters have attempted an extensive list of magical cures, but whatever sleepwalking curse or effect he’s under tenaciously resists our efforts. All we can do is keep him safe.” Heidmarch pats him with a degree of professional affection, and Kalkamedes rewards her by trying to swat her with his head.

“Kalkamedes’s friends are at their wits’ end, so we are going to attempt the only thing that we have not tried: we’re going to let him go
tonight. That’s where you come in. I want you to follow him and keep him safe and in one piece. Let him get to wherever his addled brain thinks he needs to go so badly.

[b]Maybe, just maybe, if he gets there, you can find a way to help him. Maybe you can determine who or what did this to him and find a way to undo it.” Heidmarch pulls out a serrated knife. “Now before I cut him free, does anyone have any questions or last minute preparations?”

#5-08 THE CONFIRMATION

The invitation delivered last night was remarkably simple, especially given the importance of the occasion: “Start where it all began. Meet us at the Pig’s Paunch one hour before dawn.”

The Pig’s Paunch is a run-down building with a faded sign of a large pig standing on its hind legs, arms folded above a corpulent belly. Inside, the air is thick with the scents of human sweat, stale tobacco, and leftover food. In the center of the room, surrounded by inebriates sleeping off their revelries, a familiar elven man stands high upon top of a large round table.

“Welcome! Welcome, my students! Please, have a seat!” With that, Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s Master of Scrolls, nimbly drops down to sit cross-legged on the table before looking about the tavern with a sense of reverent wonder. “Can you believe it? It all started here years ago—well, over four hundred of them at least. Under this very roof the Pathfinder Society was born.

“But today! Today you will begin your Confirmation! Master Farabellus, Master Zey, and I all agree you each have shown your worth and dedication to the Society, so there’s no better time to see if you can handle becoming full field operatives. Allow me to introduce you to Janira Gavix,” he says as he motions for an excitable halfling woman to approach. She wears a large backpack and carries all manner of tools, pouches, and scroll cases around her waist. Shaine continues, saying, “Janira here will be going with you on your Confirmation. She was one of my brightest pupils and will no doubt be an invaluable resource on your journey, for she discovered the caves you are about to explore during her own Confirmation.”

Janira speaks up in an enthusiastic and cheerful voice, “Greetings, aspiring Pathfinders! Six months ago, while I was mapping cave entrances in the foothills of the Kortos Mounts, I witnessed a lone gillman entering a concealed cave. I thought little of it at the time, but I saw another one enter the cave again a month later as my Confirmation stretched on. A few days later, after I completed my assigned task, I entered the cave system, but was unable to find the gillmen.”

Master Shaine hops to his feet. “Initiates, for your Confirmation, you will travel to these caves to explore and document its many passages. Additionally, and most importantly, you are to learn what the gillmen are up to in there. Oh, and you need to come back alive as well.” With these parting words, the Master of Scrolls jumps off the table and strolls out of the building while humming to himself.
