You know, I still have not gotten around to watching that anime. This Webcomic did something within the bounds of the show, but I still keep forgetting to watch Haibane Renmei.

This was one of the first games that I decided to go with a caster. The choice was rather easy when I saw that I'd be backing a paladin, so I figured, "why not do both at the same time?". That, and the writing between the characters was the best in any game I've been in yet. Normally it just tapers off, and everyone hand-waves the interactions.

Though I will say that the change from Godelina 1.0 to the post-hiatus one was interesting.. It turned Edan from "escort for a clueless paladin that he had little clue he was falling for", to "Servant of Iomedae who would not mind backing this paladin to the end".

That said, if you ever post Godelina up in any recruitment, drop me a line. I'd love to write Edan again, to see how much of the story can change with the setting.

Personally I found the ending to Haibane Renmei leaving with me with more questions, then again I watched it dubbed and generally with mistranslation, something might have been explained. It's quite a interesting story though.

Was my first Paladin so I was often wrestling over how one would behave in the religions of Golaria vs Traditional Christianity in this one as it's the only religion I have a vast swath of knowledge even though I'm Agnostic. Someone had pointed out on the forums that their paladin had to drop out of a campaign because she got pregnant with the enchanter's child and for a moment I thought that odd, but then had to pull myself back and remind myself it's a different world with different dogma with what is good and what is bad so changed it more to that she's not wide-eyed and unknowledgeable about the world, but things like dirty jokes she won't immediately get or suggestive comments.

Plus after the Hiatus I was thinking to myself that all my female characters normally (depicted in my head anyway) would be around A-B cup so I thought why not go all out with her being the sterotype beauty many men like and make them D. Plus it gives a opening to suggestives jokes and the like.

Have to admit where Edan was drawing, I had a image in my mind of much later on with her doing the whole titanic thing. Posing whilst nude, even though that would be out of character, it was still a funny thought.

Might be difficult to sell us off as a pair as some people have difficulty with couple players, I know I did when starting up KM as it was a pair of bothers and they were totally unreasonable, plus in some cases the two stay in a bubble of their own somewhat, however I don't believe that would happen with us. Let me know if you're successful too.

Also that vid shouldn't ruin everything, that's something that happens in the first episode and as I said, I was thinking of a similar thing happening with her emergence of wings rarther than just waking up oneday and be all like "Oh look, I have wings."

Lanten Tiberiu wrote:

I was also interested in seeing how that relationship turned out. You guys have done a great job with it.

That kind of an event in the aftermath would probably have made Lanten nervous in some ways about 'Lina. There's some history I have built up about the guy and living in a country where there are so many tieflings. Plane-touched humans in general make him wary, and at least initially that's the reaction he had about her.

The whole ballroom dancing sequence I think helped put him at ease, but that kind random freakiness might shock him still. I suspect it would depend on how much fighting and stuff they had gone through by that point.

That's aside from how things were developing with Lanten and 'Shari - was it going to be a "flingy" relationship or something more? It has made for an interesting contrast to 'Lina and Edan's. I was curious to see what would happen with the possible change to sorcerer that she had talked about.

I'm only doing one pbp right now, so if you find yourself needing another player and don't mind my company - give a shout. As it stands, I am considering another crack at GM pbp - running either the Shattered Star AP or more generic town adventure set in Isger. We'll see.

Bit late I'm afraid for my homebrew one, but I'll keep a eye out on the other games I'm in and of course, you're welcome to have a look through any games i'm running. I'd highly recommend the KM one as I have still quite a few of the origonal characters in it from the begining and I had take a huge risk asking for people who had no games, but then I found there were some REALLY good roleplayers out there on here who didn't have a game. The characters I suggest you look at are Catrina Strigard (Though, I also have that player in 2 other games since) and Bronwyn who, I didn't know at first, learnt English as a second language due to how well his spelling is.

Of course once I learnt that I notice one or two words out of place, but hell he's better than most people and really gets into the character. Also the Ranger Ganit who has a troubled past and is a bit of a gruff, but I do like his character and how clearly any change to try and make him happy doesn't appear to work.

Zorestar, who along with Telias and Jameson are newer editions to the group all have very interesting qualities too. I have plans for all of them for ghosts of the past to return and some intrigue to spark in them too. Oh, this gives me an idea to use a idea I was origonally going to throw away...hmmm...

Sometimes I don't post in KM cause I just love reading the interactions between the characters how they are different, but at the same time I know I must post to keep the story going. It's unlike other KM stories because of the players as they make it very different.

I certainly loved the whole ballroom scene. Unfortunately it didn't yeild any results, but it was a fun roleplaying experience trying to have 'Lina in this kind of environment where women were wearing barely anything and many of her thoughts would be something ignorant like.
"Aren't they cold like that? What kind of place is this?" and anything alse that a young innocent catholic girl might think when entering a poledancing club. At the same time it also developed some character growth between everyone with her dressing as a woman for possibly the first time ever with 'Shari and not understanding why her clothing might not fit, again, lack of thought about the chest as at the temple I imagine she would've been celibate and everything. Funny thing is I had her as like 18 or something in this adventure, yet when ARG came out, it suggested that planetouched have longlifes like elves which sort of messed up the age thing, but I believe we kept it the same for simplicity rarther than change it suddenly, plus it makes more sense that they age like humans since that's the base form only slightly altered, but that's my opinion. Eitherway, that's why she wouldn't really be that knowledgeable about breasts as men at the temple probably wouldn't have made a big deal of it or fear retribution from the staff, plus she's no pushover.

Yeah I'm lurking too, but it's a shame it has to end. I was really liking my first ever female character + first ever paladin. Would love to have seen the relationship grown between her and Edan. I had an idea of what'd happen at 11th level. Here's the idea.

She was going to take feats to end up with the angelic wings as part of the feats from advanced race guide. She was going to wake him up in the middle of the night, undo her top and before he says anything, turns around to show large lumps on her back where the wings are about to burst and all she tells him is to get a bucket ready and clean the incoming wounds as she fings from cloth to wrap around something hard and bite down, almost screaming as the wings push their way out of her back, breaking through the skin and taking shape. For a moment she has a look of serene peace before collapsing.

Basically the scene was inspired by this from this anime I own.

Godelina rolls her eyes, not really understanding what is going on here.
"We are not leaving unless given a explaination." she states as she looks at the druid. "We are here to help. Whatever afflicts you, we can help."

Female Aasimar Paladin/3rd) (HP 28/28, AC 19/10/19. F +8, R +4, W +7, P +3, Init +0

Godelina gets down on one knees, getting closer to his hight so she seems less intimidating.
"We have seen many things in this town and we are trying to discover what is going on here. We recently heard you were having a issue with your temper, but you appear more afraid than angry. I'd also like to know what you know of the Lizardfolk and the Saunguin? Being one with nature you must know where these people reside or if you have heard anything in nature whisper about them."

Female Aasimar Paladin/3rd) (HP 28/28, AC 19/10/19. F +8, R +4, W +7, P +3, Init +0

"We wished to check if you were okey. We've heard that you were in danger or quite distressed." Godelina says calmly, making sure not to move any closer as he does look like he'd run at any minute "If you have a problem we wish to help you with it any way we can."

I've been unable to get x-com to run well recently. Some update makes it incompatable with my graphics card. I have a radeon card, which seems to get the shaft in game updates.

I've been playing Omerta: City of Gangsters and been having fun with it. Unlocked all but 2 achievements on it, completed the game and played a few multiplayer missions. Been plaing Alice: Madness Returns and KOTOR 2. Fun games in all. But Omerta isn't worth full price imo. Once you get a income it generally becomes too easy.

Also been looking at other game systems and trying to find a cyberpunk system that I can understand AND will fit my idea for a begining.

"Because you were hiding yourself and not willing to speak with us." she sighs and takes a step forward. "You should not be afraid of is, if anything you should be chasing us up to help you. If there is some monster plaguing you, I will be happy to strike it down for you."

Godelina relaxes in posture and knowing how timid he appears, remains where she is so she doesn't spook him.
"We know someone has turned a lizardfolk to stone and we have also learnt that there is a allience between the people of this town and them due to a battle with the shark people. The Sahuagin I believe they are called. We do not know why this person has done it, but we have found that the statue in the museum is a real creature that was turned to stone by powerful magics." she points out this first issue. "Me and my comrade here were sent to investigate drops in the temple of Iomedae here. Unexplained and substancial drops in those coming to the temple and we found one such family who was missing a son had been tricked into praising a 'god of luck' which was actually Asmodeus. We believe someone is altering people's lives so that this 'luck' happens as soon as they change religion, but we do not know the reason, nor where their son dissappeared to." Godelina goes on to explain other subtle findings they have, pointing to something very strange going on in this town, but no actual concrete evidence or lead to guide them to the one or more parties involved in what is happening. "We were hoping you might have seen or heard something. Is that the reason you have been hiding from others?" she says in the hopes that this is correct and she is on the right path to understanding what's going on in this town.

Godelina remains close to Edan, placing her hand on her hilt to be ready for what might happen next. She had no idea what trouble might appear here. She was afraid something might be wrong and kept her eyes out to focus on any possible danger, but it appears as if her eye settle on a couple, sat together and holding hands just ignoring the world around them and she gives a soft smile, lost in thought for a moment.

The suggestion was in character whilst out of character I know a cardinal rule is to never split the party.

godelina nods, thinking on the group's decisions and ideas. She looks to Edan and gives a nod.
"Let us go see this druid. Hopefully he can shed some light on what's happening here." shes says as she curiously looks over at Edan and wonders what he's drawing

"I wasn't suggest we burst in, however I am at a loss as to how we could be allowed in without rising suspecion..." she thinks for a moment as she looks at 'Shari and Lanten for a moment as a idea comes to her mind. "You could pose as a couple, looking for a child. If there is anything odd going on, we would then have good reason to go in. You are right however, the druid would be easier unless you feel we should split up?"

Are you really going to argue with a Rogue, a Fighter that has two things that he can stab you with and a guy that might (just might) be able to melt your brain?

:p As for Edan.. We'll see in-game how he reacts.

Certainly not gonna argue with them. Besides, Godelina has no drive to get in their way if stuff does happen, unless it comes to blows or gets in the way of the mission.

Would like to see if Edan is gonna push Godelina to admitting suspected feelings or not.

as per DM's suggestion I'll give a nudge here.

Godelina looks to the group, noticing that 'Shari and Lanten appear to be somewhat distracted, though she doesn't bother to ask any awkward questions.
"So it's the Orphanage of the Druid? The Druid might be dangerous if he is behaving strangely, I could never understand those who woreship nature, but he may know something we do not. The children could be in danger if there is any truth to the stories and I feel uncomfortable at a child so young to be near such danger when it is not their calling..." she trails off for a moment, eyes glazing over as she stares into empty space. "...some would dare say lucky."

Have to admit, when looking for a new character I was afraid that the new person wouldn't be very good or we'd get a terrible player, but looks like those fears were unfounded as Lanten has been great!

Though this does beg the question...what are the boys going to do when they find they're both after the same girl? Or will this end up being a Polygamous relationship? We'll have to see who woos who, though my money is on Lanten as they seem to share conversations better and, Ramar is often more focused on other things, then again I could be wrong, just been so long to see a post from Ramar.

It was a bit too early to answer a question like that and have to deal with the resulting train of thought (and questions) that it would generate, so Edan only responded with an enigmatic look and then pretended to be distracted by the sights of the town in the morning. Taking a deep breath of the morning air, he yawned once more, and then looked over to 'Lina. "I wonder what breakfast is at the Boat today.. Are you hungry?", he idly asked before heading towards their daily routine.

She shrugs at the question, not sure what to say.

"I had my meal earlier. I'll just have water." she states quite simply. Godelina didn't know how to reply to 'Shari's question about last night. "There was nothing to recover from. Neither of us was wounded..."

Edan had his sketchbook open and was working on the outlines for something, more a standing figure against some sort of background, with his cup of tea near his other hand, and nodded at 'Shari thoughtfully. "The Druid of Frog Park was one of the things we had planned.. There was also the orphanage to inquire in, and the Lizardfolk. The Temple of Gorum was a possibility, and the museum contest are what I remember us mentioning in passing.

Putting the charcoal stick down, he picked up the tea and took a sip, looking towards the kitchen of the Boat, wondering what breakfast might be.

"If children are in danger, we best check out the orphanage. Even if they are not, it will be best that we investigate to make sure they are not, however if the drud has been acting strange he might know a few things or have become a danger." she states as she focuses on these tasks at hand, clearly putting all her thought power into it.

Godelina couldn't help but smile back. Something about the way he looked in the morning made her smile. Perhaps it was the way he kept together or that he managed to smile the way he did in the morning. She wasn't sure, but she found herself smiling in return, then blushing as she realised what she just did and cleared her throat.
"Let us get going. I don't want to waste any time needlessly like yesterday. I pray Iomedae forgives us all for the deadend we found and the wasted time." she states as she turns, ready to make their way, but stops as she notices he disappeared. She looks back to see him coming out with his sketchbook and piece of charcoal on his ear and for a moment she gives a soft smile and shake of her head before straightening up again. "You...drawn anyone with the charcoal before?" she asks in a attempt to find a topic to talk about besides last night.

for some reason, a image came into my head of her being painted first with her armour, then in a night dress and then without one. Making me think of that terrible Titanic movie.

The morning Godelina is dressed in her armour as before. She yawns, having had trouble sleeping, but not letting it take over. She waits outside Edan's room, leaning against the wall and looking at her black, wondering if the being inside might have the answer or her reflection in the blade.

She wasn't up to talking about last night and hoped that Edan wasn't going to press the issue and get on with their job. After their lead went to a dead-end, she feels that they need to hurry up and get back to work.

Godelina was surprised ast Ushari's hug and wasn't quite sure to respond in a awkward manner, but lightly returned it.

During their walk earlier she too was often glancing at him too discreatly, however it seems their eyes never met but remain curious of eachother.

Seeing as Edan didn't knock on the door and hearing his door closed she lets out a sigh.
"Thank the gods. That could have been awkward." she says outloud to herself as she undresses. She puts her blade to the side, keeping it as a dagger on the cabinet beside her bed and putting on her night gown, taking a longer than normal stare into the mirror. She was getting certain thoughts, bad thoughts that she was told would cloud her judgement when doing Iomedae's work. She found her cheeks were flushed and then blew out the candles, wanting to sleep and forget about these silly, childish emotions, but even in her dreams she wasn't free from them.

The dreams she experiences end up being quite intense. She has the choice to cut down somekind of evil, shadowy demon, however it's enveloped Edan and if she strikes with her sword, she'll possibly kill him too. Every bone in her body tells her to smite the evil no matter what the cost, but she cannot bring the blade down. because of her hesitation she watches as the creature grows larger, moves to envelope her and Edan begins to rot away infront of her. She wakes with a start in cold sweat and tears in her eyes, but she curls up again, deciding to try and get a good sleep, no matter what.

Post got eaten when Paizo went down. Also I assume their rooms are opposite of next to each other for this scene.

On their way back to the temple alone, Godelina continues on her way with Edan. Once outside her room she turns to him as she unlcoks her door, biting her lip before finally saying.
"You look really handsome in that." as she says this blood rushes to her cheeks and she quickly makes her way inside her room, closing the door quickly. "What on earth am I thinking? He has no interest in me, we are on a mission and by the inheritor I have already annoyed him and everyone else for finding nothing on my suggestion for the dryad. she pauses for a moment as she remains leaning against the door Besides, I think he'd like 'Shari more. She's pretty and doesn't look like a boy with short hair. she remains dealing with these confusing emotions and thoughts, afraid of the next day being awkward.

oops, sorry forgot I was up.

Godelina sighs, clearly he seems to be of no use to her at all. Glancing over at her friends and Edan especially she decides it is time to leave.
"I best be leaving. I'm sure there are many more beautiful women you could grasp the attention of." as she says this she gets up, but then stops for a moment as a final idea came to mind. "May I ask, when did you arrive into this town?"

That's the second 20 I've rolled in 2 minutes.

yeah, me too.

'Lina, not really sure how to persue questioning decides to try and be sly.
"So mistertique. What do you do when you aren't dancing with women here?" she decides to ask as part of small talk. "Surely you aren't so boring as to spend all your time here, hm?"

Godelina finds herself stuck in the dancing and quite amazed she can pull off half the moves that she's able to with him. Though she is more focused on the task at hand, she can't help but enjoy the attention for the first time in her life. In the past it was all about bottleing up such emotions and keeping yourself in check for evil can reveal itself at any moment, however for this moment she wasn't on guard.

It felt great to be the centre of attention and to be marveled in awe not due to her armour or feats of faith, but simply for her looks or being special (the latter she chooses to believe) however so far it appears their approch hasn't bared much fruit.

Spotting Edan and his 'lady friend,' Lanten tries to make his way towards them - wondering if there's a way to 'rescue' him from his current predicament.

Kinda waiting too :p

poor 'Lina, with 'Shari thinking about leaving :p

Godelina is genuinly surprised by his words, but she tries to remain cool and curtious. She is a little worried about the prospect of a dance in her high heels, but she appears to have gotten a command of them.
"You lead, Mistertique. he says, hoping this night becomes fruitful.

@Lina, He comes out of his bow with a grin on his face, hearing your response he proclaims, still holding out the rose rather awkwardly. "Why, I am Mistertique! Worlds greatest ladies man, for I exude the masculine mystique! It is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance Miss..."

@ Edan, the woman laughs as she continues to pull you around the dance floor with her, probably not even listening to what you say to her. You feel that if you do not escape her quickly this could turn into a very long night.

@Shari and Lanten, The man immediately backs down once he sees he is not welcome there, "Your loss miss." He states and then spits into Lanten's glass, turning and walking away.

No one seems to be paying any of you any particular attention other then to look at clothing and the like, everyone is caught up in their own revels or drunk. The lights dim a little and a bit of a strip tease starts on the stage and then moves into the dance floor and audience and now naked women are intermingled with the guests and dancers. You occasionally see one saunter off with a man or woman attached to their arm up to the second level. You notice that there are darker booths along the perimeter with curtains as well as booths in the upper level overlooking the dance floor and stage.

Good thing Godelina doesn't woreship the christian god, or she'd have to burn this place to the ground.

Godelina for a moment thinks it best to lie, but knowing the danger of if he figured her out she decides to give her real name, hoping he didn't hear about her or atleast think it's a coincidence of names.
"Evelyn. Godelina Evelyn, Mr Mistertique." she states and takes the rose off him, being careful of the thorns. She decides to take a sniff of the flower's scent. "What plans did you have in mind during this escort?"

Why is my spidey-sense going off over that flower?

Can't stop laughing, reading 'Shari's and Lanten's talk about who possibly got 'Lina to act more lady like, not to mention the man eater who grabbed Edan.

Godelina is a little surprised at a man who appears so finely dressed to be in this place, let alone asking for a her specifically. Noticing the codpeice she assumes that it's stuffed, though she never understood why men would stuff codpeices, though she assumed it was the same reason women suffed bras.
"I am charmed by your words, good sir." she offers her hand out to be kissed "I would like to exchange names. A lady never gives her name, let alone anything else without a name, good sir."

Since 'Lina has no Knowledge nobility, I'll leave it up to the DM if he's so notable everyone knows him or not.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 This is to try and determin his intentions, though I think a blind catholic girl could probably guess them, but to also see if he is being truthful about the name he gives.

Diplomacy to hopefully make sure she's stepping lightly and not being too personal for asking for a name: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25

You watch this, next combat we get into I'll be rolling natural 1s :p

Sorry about that, I wasn't notified that there have been any posts for weeks and weeks. Also forgotten how the dress looks to bare with me if it isn't EXACTLY like it was described in the past.

Before leaving:

Godelina comes out after Edan has already arrived and seen 'Shari. Her clothing is something you would certainly never see a paladin wear under any circumstance. Her dress wasn't too revealing, but it did have exposed cleveledge and gripped to her shape in a tasteful way, giving her a look that would fit in with the Dryad based on what 'Shari said, but at the same time not wanting to reveal too much.

It was a beautiful flowing blue dress that went well with her golden hair and eyes. She also had a matching pair of saphire earrings to go with it and was wearing, for the first time in her life, high-heeled shoes. After practicing with them for some time she appears to be standing up fine in them and able to keep her balance and effecting her posture as high-heels were designed to.

As she notice's Edan she blushes and then clears her throat.
"That's disturbing news about the temple Lanten. Possibly more people woreshipping this "god of luck" but I'm worried my theory might be right about someone working with those evil creatures that tried to take this town or both of these events might be seporate, but end up helping each other."

She steps over to Edan defiantely and grabs him arm so that it's locked with her's.
"We better try to blend in. Will be hard, but if something bad happens." she smiles reaching down and pulling a dagger out and giving a wink. "The blade here will give me the armour and weapon I'll need."

With that she heads off with Edan, keeping her head up and looking determined. Godelina remains well balanced, only once or twice not being used to the road, however she keeps her balance well and smiles towards 'Shari. She wouldn't say it outloud, but she is enjoying being dressed up for a change and attracting everyone's gaze.

At the Dryad:

Godelina wrinkles her nose at the sight of the events that are going on. "Such Chaos! Inheretor help us this might become of the town if things get much worse. Women dancing and showing no concern for their bodies." Godelina followed Edan and sat next to him, crossing her legs as she sat down, being careful how she sits and thinking that if she just sits there and looks like a average patron, she'd get hit by men who might wish to talk too much.

Bluff to look conving, if required. Bonuses possibly for dress and makeup, ect 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20

Godelina then had a thought as she leans over to Edan to whisper:
"Let's seporate. Men might wish to speak with me if I don't appear spoken for." she gives a wink and leans back.

normally DC 15 to hear the details of a whispered conversation, but considering the loud noise it might be harder for anyone nearby.

She takes a careful look around the room, wondering if any familiar faces will reveal themselves and possibly ruin tonight's plan or if she can catch the eye of someone who might be in on whatever's going down. with her seated potion her legs appear to be partially exposed, almost inviting vagabonds to give it a try.

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

young lass of incredible charms? I didn't know Edan was also dating 'Shari. Would make things very awkward, lol.

"I would not try to run in them yet though...Probably want to take them off first, he he."

"What do you mean the female form? How do shoes help that?" she askes, unaware of how high heels alter the perception of a woman's body "eitherway, I certainly wouldn't run with them on. I can't imagine why anyone would."

Female Aasimar Paladin/3rd) (HP 28/28, AC 19/10/19. F +8, R +4, W +7, P +3, Init +0

Godelina seems to struggle with the heels, though with help from 'shari she appears to be getting a better grasp at how a woman is expected to walk in these things.
"I don't understand why women don't just wear boots? They're easier to wear and function in any terrain." she points out after one moment where she nearly completely fell over, but the rest of the time she appears to be fine and no longer wabbling. "I hope Edan- I mean the guys appreciate what we have to do, to try and go in unnoticed."

Dex: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Just saying i'm still here and paying attention.

Female Aasimar Paladin/3rd) (HP 28/28, AC 19/10/19. F +8, R +4, W +7, P +3, Init +0

'Lina, wanting to make the best impression follows 'Shari to find a pair of heels and to then practive as 'Shari's tavern, in her room or at the temple, which ever is closest. It's obvious 'Lina has never worn them before and tries her best at balance.

dex: 1d20 ⇒ 8

Once or twice it appears as if she's about to fall over, but after half an hour of practicing she seems to have it down.

I hope half an hour is realistic. I was thinking an hour would be too much.
