Located along the coast in the Shipbreaker Bay between Bronzegate and Storm's End, House Athelstan rules from the Whitesand. A young house founded during the War of the Ninepenny Kings and loyal to House Baratheon, they have rose to some prominence among the lesser Houses of the Stormlands. House Athelstan looks to the heart of the Stormlands for guidance and fuels the income through trade and defenses by sea.

Gillem Athelstan Bio

Ser Gillem Athelstan was born the eldest son of Lord Garrit Athelstan, the head of the Athelstan family, and his wife the Lady Mayra. Gillem was brought up in the standard fashion of House Athelstan, and showed considerable talent for horsemanship and warfare from young age. He squired under Ser Orien Rogers during the Battles of Summerhall by participating in two of the three fights even if he only did fight during the first of battle and saved Ser Orien in the second battle by taking him out f the field wounded and get him the medical attention needed. Afterward Gillem saw barely any fight is they were harassing the Tyrell supply chain when they were besieging Storm's End, but with the lack of men that was all they could do, after a year or so the Starks came and broke the siege and that was the end of Gillem's fighting during Robert's Rebellion. At the age of 17 he was anointed as a knight as many others that participated during the war and now becoming a full grown man and knight.

Gillem quickly established a name in his House on small tourney circuit, taking home the winner's purse from the few he had participated in. Nowadays he wants to participate in a great tourney, acquitting himself well in the list against the best around the realm, so that his performance will win him the attention of other noble lords and a suitable bride.

Appearance and Personality

With an easy smile, and a friendly demeanor, Gillem is difficult not to like. His perpetually wind-tossed blond hair and wide hazel eyes give Gillem the look of a child at play.

Gillem was raised by his father and the old Maester Donnen to honor his duty to House Athelstan, and to the smallfolk and lands given to their care. Gillem is thoughtful, intelligent and highly capable horse rider
that every Athelstan must strive to be, and in the practice yard where his axe splinters opponent’s shields. Gillem isn’t without his flaws, simply put, Gillem is open and honest, and trusting.

This isn’t to say GIllem is a fool. He just tends not to question people that seem honest and earnest. Gillem grows wroth with those he
realizes have betrayed his trust.
