male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon say's quietly, but contemplatively.
"I suppose I should try to blend in. I'm not going to do it by talking, so I'll have to try something else. Hummm"

Staff in hand Gideon will do something acrobatic and impressive using his staff as a tool.

With a small running start Gideon Does some tripple back handsprings with a staff flurry. At one point he'll balance on the head of his staff with one hand and spin to land on the ground. Then bow to the crowd.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28 (perhaps with some bonuses since i'm not distracted by combat and what not. )

Enisald smiled, half in appreciation, and half in spite. "I can appreciate your sentiments, but I'll need you to turn the other way if you are going to." Enisald took in the scene, wondering how the woman put on this act of weakness so easily, perhaps it wasn't an act. . .He turned to look at Skalrok, who was watching the festivities with the look of a cat watching a caged canary. It was a curious thing, if Allosaurs were extinct in this place, why had no one commented on Skalrok?

He turned back to Gideon and offered, "How do you suggest we do this? Start immediately, or wait for the bird man to gain some results?"

"Information is key in war. We should gather information before beginning, lest we duplicate efforts or waste time. The army has to come from somewhere. Lets see who may not be one of the happy shiny people."

Taking in the afternoon festivities a slight smirk shrieks across her face. In her minds eye she can see an army of undead enter the village and slowly mutilate the patchouli smelling crowd. but that will all come in due time. for now she will play the game.....

Walking over to Einsald & Gideon she gave them big hugs that resemble the hugs being generated by this hippy love fest. For Einsald & Gideon it was obvious that they were not comfortable, but they fail to realize that is more of a common place thing in these parts then not. As you look around at the group you see that all of these individuals 'don't fit in'. At one point in their life or another they were picked on by bullies, fired for being 'productive enough', etc..... This was the counter culture in which they will fit in perfectly.

After hugging her two companions she wraps her arm around the young grow in a more flirtatious manner. The kind you see at a John Scofield concert when a young lady needs a bed to sleep in for the night. I would love to speak to the crowd then grabbing his hand she starts to spin in circles around him like a carousel. Stopping only to pick two flowers, putting one behind her ear and the other behind the ear of her new found friend. I have so much to share

Very quietly to Enisald

"I think I may wretch." Giedon says quasi-sarcastically.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

I'd like to speed up the action a bit, but otherwise I'm good with continuing.

Enisald smiled, "That is perfect. I have long believed that if you make a man fight for his life, and then welcome him into the fold afterward, he will be a loyal servant from then on, if you do it right, anyway. I wonder if you could help me with acquiring servants."

If this man had little ambition but combat, then Enisald would use him as a tool, so they could both get what they wanted.

"I've seen that work. "

If you are willing to ask, then I have to ask, how are you at winning hearts?"

Quietly

"Playing well with other has never been my strong suit. However I excel at attacking large groups. I'd be better at beating them into submission than talking them into it. Battle is like poetry for me. "

Giedon smiles trying to fein happiness.

Bluff 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

As far as our game goes I'm just not sure what to do. I'm following the lead of the others for the moment.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Yay.

Gideon feigns happiness. ...

1d20 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

...poorly

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon emerges from his hiding place non-chantly. He shrugs at Enisald's sneer. ::Old habits:: he thinks to himself.

He'll casually place himself tactically should he need to take action against this...creature.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

At the sound Gideon jumps to the side and hides.

Stealth 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

"So where to first?" Gideon asks of the group

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Directed at no one in particular
"I am curious as to what civilization looks like now that everyone's so polite to one another? Would one even bother to have a city watch?"

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

"I need to stay and finish up my book. In our free time we should discuss our various strengths, etc. Or perhaps sparring." Gideon grins wickedly.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon's plan it to copy the spells then head out to sew discourse.

I think I missed a question about why they still train warriors

As the witch watches the egg with you Enisald, she brings up the question of warriors.

You must understand Enisald that I use the term Warrior lightly. I doubt the body you inhabit has ever actually struck anything. This order is more concentrated on the discipline required for perfecting oneself. There are stories of the past describing the orders might however. They are famous as being contemplative fighters. Manipulators of the battlefield, ending battles by striking a single blow at the proper time. Now they are nothing more than philosophical panseys, I still wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of their deeply hidden wrath however.

Still rummaging through the pile Gideon responds to a question none asked, his tail shifts and twitches as he rummages

"The philosophical principle behind martial arts is to train so you'll never need them. I'm sure they do plenty of good natured sparing where no one really gets injured. The probably consider it merely exercise and dicipline or some such nonsense. Personally I say nothing is more invigorating than knowing that your enemy will kill you given half a chance, but denying them that chance as you beat the life out of them. Watching the final breath escape their lips and looking them in the eye so they know you are responsible and they were foolish to challenge you. Mmmm. It's a delicious moment. "

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

i cannot get a break with these crappy rolls.

Planes 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

"Well, you seem quite prepared. This should do well. I'll just need a quiet place to transcribe and access to writing supplies."

ill be spending as much time as possible transcribing spells to my own book

Gideon hands his list to one of the crafters. "Just do what you can as fast as possible. I think I'd like to get to work as soon as possible. But not too quick. I've got some of my own work to do.

its the list on my character sheet. The same one we talked about.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Thinking a moment Gideon adds. "So long as you have crafters available I suppose I could use a few more items to enhance my abilities. I'll make a list of the lesser things, but the most important and difficult will be my spellbook. I don't suppose you have one lying around that I could use in the mean time while I reconstitute my own?"

Gideon attains a scrap of paper and jots down his wish list as he waits for an answer.

I've never seen that horse in my life. If it's here though who am I to deny it. It's in my forest, it's mine, you want it, it's yours, simple as that. Ohh look it's made it's first crack in the shell. She goes back to watching the egg Probably with Enisald.

Maz Speaks up at the mention of a staff. We only have one staff, stupid as that may sound. DumbBum Gin here made it with the last of our adamantine last time he came back from New Orleans. It's right over here. She gets up and opens the other door just enough for her to get her arm in. She brings her arm out and in it is a beautifully crafted Adamantine Staff. She smiles for the first time, winds up, and throws it directly at Gideon's head as if it were a spear. 1d20+7 DC to hit. Reflex/Attack/Whatever you think is relevant

Reflex

1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

(deflect arrows + creative license) Gideon catches the adamantine staff out of the air and spins it around his body expertly using only one hand. It's an unusual fighting style, but clearly he knows what he's doing. He smiles widely. "This will do nicely."

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

"I just need a staff and the resources to recreate my spell book. i'm simple like that." Gideon says simply.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon follows curiously. Upon seeing the interior of the room he asks, "So what can they do?" his nose is slightly turned up at the obvious mess.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

For the record Gideon isn't bowing down to anyone. He's playing along only so long as the situation suits him.

ALso I, the player, am playing along for the sake of moving the game forward.

An even bigger grin grows on the face of Dardlara, she quickly turns her back to the group and starts to slowly pace away while addressing the group in a louder volume.

So then it is.....I will begin my journey to back to my home city of Arcata and retake my rightful place as priestess. Gideon, if you will be by my side for the journey I have several uses for you. And if any of you are interested in coming to Arcata with us on the journey or meet up with us once we have established ourselves your evil is more then welcome. if not this is the last I will see of you for awhile and I bid you farewell until we meet again.

who said your bodies were dead. I certainly didnt have any casue to restrain you 5. It was fun watching Medaglia cry and beg and plead. She was so cute.

Gideon smiles wickedly "I'm liking you more and more."

Then turning to Dardlara"So we need to remove hope and instill fear. My talents lie in spellcasting and wanton dectruction. You may consider them at your disposal if the plan is to bring this world to it's knees."

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

"I was a master magus. In my former body. What can you tell me of this pit touched body? I am unacustomed to having a tail, but this one seems rather useful."

Gideon says even as he stares at his tail as he moves it to and fro.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

"That sounds like a plan." Gideon says with a grin

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon examines his new body and looks into something reflective to see his new face. After a moment of examination he asks,

"I seem to be in the body of a pit touched (AKA Tiefling). How exactly does one with demonblood blend into a population full of good people?" Thinking a moment, "For that matter if the world is as you say how will we not simply be pointed out and destroyed in force if even a single paladin chooses to detect our aura? Don't misunderstand I'm all for sewing chaos and destruction back into the world, but presumably there is some sort of plan beyond random wanton destruction."

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon examines his body as he moves. bending at the waist and stretching his fingers before forming a fist.

"This body seems to remember motions that I have never used. It is (thinking a moment) excellent."

Turning to the woman. "Are you as angelic as you seem or are you something else? Surely an angel wouldn't bring evil into the world."

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Calming himself a bit Gideon again tries to slip free of his bonds.

Escape Artist 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Do we have our spells or no?

Edit: Wow my rolls suck. Gideon will keep trying to free himself until someone stops him or he succeeds.

Escape artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Escape artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Escape artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
Escape artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Escape artist: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon speaks through clenched teeth, though surprisingly calm. "Free me, Wench!"

Thinking ::Was that my voice? What's going on here?::

Escape Artist 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

Lying on the table Gideon begins to take note of how his body feels. He notices an extra appendage. A tail. Straining against his bonds he attempts to look at his tail. In doing so he knocks his head on the side of the table. Not his head...something is on his head, though it doesn't feel as though he's wearing a helmet. He also felt his ear brush the table. It's a lot more ear that he's used to having. Straining he glances down and sees a tail coming from under his rear. He concentrates and it twitches, though it too is securely held in place by a band near the tipped end.

::My skin is brown! WHY AM I BROWN!:: More of the gravity of the situation coming to him ;;I HAVE A TAIL!! WHY IN THE BLOODY HELLS DO I HAVE A TAIL!!::

No longer calm Gideon raises his voice, "WOMAN, Tell me why I am strapped to this table and why by the howling winds of pandora DO I HAVE A TAIL!" Gideon says emphatically.

Wrong thread. sorry.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

This may have gotten lost in the recruitment thread, so I'll put it here for easy reference.

DM Gear question:

I made some edits. I don't need a +1 staff. I can do that myself for short periods of time if needed. I'd like to spend that money elsewhere.

here's my gear wish list breakdown.

Darksire amulet (4500-creation 9 days) - +5 resists for tieflings, +4 diplomacy evil outsiders + flavorful
Ring sustenance (2500)
Hat of disguise (900-creation 2days)
Handy Haversac (1000-Creation 2 days)
Wand of infernal healing (750)
Arcane locked MW manacles (75GP) - Arcane locked by me via loaned Ring of spell storing

Extra -775g pocket money

Plus a bunch of mundane crap that I haven't calculated yet. I'll overestimate and take out a chunk of change before game starts.

This isn't magic, but if possible I would like an Adamantine Staff (it's auto Masterwork). The cost per the book is 3000 gp.
If that's half price I'd give up hat of disguise +450 GP.
If it's not half price I'd give up The Ring of sustenance +500 GP.

Is the Adamantine staff do-able?

Gideon, you can buy scrolls just as normal. It doesn't take long to transfer them over right? I honestly don't remember.

That would work, but it'd be cheaper and easier to just copy them from someone's spell book or to decode someone else's spell book.

In other words they could give me a spell book then I could learn to use it fairly easy until I prepared my own.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

For equipment I just have a short wish list. Frankly all he really needs is a staff and his spell book and he's good to go. However, he'll be more effective with magic items.

Edit: With that in mind how are you going to work starting spell books?

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Present

This is TCG.

I've got most of Gideon worked out. Feel free to look it over and let me know if there's any RP you'd like me to help with. You said Magus/monk was somehow fitting for what you had in mind. I'll help with that however I can.

FYI: This character is kinda badass. With the notable exception of the MAD-ness the two classes mesh really well.

This is TCG. HP roll

4d8 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 8) = 17

Edit reroll 2d8 ⇒ (4, 8) = 12

There is clearly a lot of interest, specifically in my category. As interestign as I think this is I'm going to gracefully bow out.

Best of luck everyone. Good gaming.

Me too, though his mechanics didn't quite work out the way I wanted them to. I'd have to re-boot him slightly, but the fluff would remain basically the same.

There are a lot of applicants and quite frankly I don't want to do the work to re-vamp him unless I get picked. Of course I may just get inspired one day and do it in an afternoon. ;-)

This is Tiny Coffee Golem.

LIke I said I'll rework him to a straight staff magus. His basic background is that he's a wanderer. Clearly he has something to prove, but he's tight lipped about his past. When asked what he does he simply states that he is a wanderer.

I've built a shell already. I should have him finished by tomorrow.

If anyone is up for sharing a quick synopsis of what I've missed? I see you swapped out some players.

Hello Gideon, glad to see you!

Well, as we recently finished book 1, I typed up a brief synopsis for the players and will email you a copy.

Don't worry too much, as you no doubt guessed, my version of the books is not exactly "cannon". So, if you read the synopsis, it won't comprimise anything from the actual core stuff, if you are interested in playing a "standard" kingmaker game.

Groovy. I prefer a creative DM over one who is always By the book.
