Hey all, I'm wondering how the spell Moonlight Beam interacts with creatures who are immune to cold and weak to sliver. Velstracs specifically have this weird interaction with the spell in addition to being Fiends. Spell text is:

"You unleash a holy beam of freezing moonlight. Make a ranged spell attack. The ray deals 5d6 cold damage; if the target is a fiend or undead, you deal an extra 5d6 good damage. Moonlight ray's cold damage is silver damage for the purposes of weaknesses, resistances, and the like."

To all good hunters! I wish to gather a group to go out and put down the foul undead goblins and their minions that seem to be growing out of control near between the towns of Rathglen and Callambea. This foul group seem to have spread its influence further than many others and we should not stand by while these monsters run amok. To this end, I propose a deadly and awe inspiring attack tonight (Feb 6) staring at 7 o'clock (1AM GMT). Are there any brave warriors who would join me?

The walk back to the front of the tomb is a somber one. Janet seems on edge and eager to get out of the dark depths but is careful to follow your steps closely. The going is slow with Kiri carrying Grax over her shoulder but after what seems like a month underground you finally make your way back to the entrance room. Light streams in from the open doors leading outside and the man you left tied up is gone. You can hear the sound of voices from outside and as your eyes adjust to the brightness you can see the shapes of people. Janet runs outside and falls into the embrace of a man.

Janet: Oh Roldare, I was afraid those horrid things had killed you.

Roldare: Janet! I’ve been so worried. I’m sorry I ran off and left you. I just couldn’t face those things and figured the best thing was to go and get help. I ended up traped in the crypt in the supply room and almost died.

As Roldare ends his comments, the other group seems to notice you all for the first time. Besides Roldare (the wailing man from the tomb) and Janet, there are four strong looking young men standing beside a wagon. The group looks ready for a trip into the tomb and seems to have come well prepared. On the side of the wagon is a sign that reads “Hagfish Hopefuls.”

Since I couldn't find another board for this, what monsters or heroes do you hope get made into minis?

I personally would love to see an owlbear and some of the lower level creatures from bestairy 2.

So I'm sure this will be a quick question but I can't find the answer it seems:
Does a creature without an Int score get to make AoOs? (such as animated objects)
Thanks!

Just wondering if there are any guidelines out there for creating NPC spell books. I know the minimum number of spell a character would have, but are there suggestions for how to figure the total number? Do you "buy" them like normal and take that out of the wealth of the NPC? What say ye oh great lurkers of the boards?

So has anyone else run into the problem of someone with perform making ridiculous amounts of money when spending lots of time in Kingmaker? A bard in my game is making about 350 gold a month. My main problem is the huge disconnect between the amount made by perform vs craft or profession checks. Anyone have any idea? 3d6 gold per day is a huge difference and I don't know how to handle it and make all my players feel like their skills are worth while.

1. When making a long jump, do you have to move the 10ft on the same turn? EX: end my turn by moving 10+ ft, next turn make my running long jump first.

2. Do you have to jump in a straight line with the direction you ran? (makes sense but curious if there are any rules supporting it)

3. Does encumbrance by armor mean you cannot move at "full speed" or does it just reduce your full speed?

4. Can you use the swift action lay on hands ability while grappled? Are there any checks that need to be made to do so?

Thanks in advance.

Just wondering if the double crossbow from the APG replaces/supersedes the Minotaur double crossbow from Classic Monsters Revisited.

My players asked me this weekend why you can aim a splash weapon at a grid intersection but not a 5ft square. They wanted to hit a spider swarm and said that instead of aiming at the creature (AC 17) they wanted to just hit the square (AC 5). After a long discussion we went with RAW but I still feel I owe them a better answer as to why you can aim at the intersection but not a swarm square.

So while playing Kingmaker, my group encountered two giant frogs. The half-orc Paladin decided that they were just frogs, no worry, and stripped to go swimming. Long story short, he ended up grappled from 15 feet away by one of the frogs. The party decides that the easiest thing to do is cut the frogs tongue to free the Paladin. So my question is this: How do you go about cutting off a body part. And how does that effect the creature?

In the game, we had thought it would make sense that you could cut off the tongue and used a rule from Hackmaster where limbs such as fingers have 1/10th the hp of the monsters total. After this I was worried that this would set a dangerous prescient for attacking any creatures that can grapple from a distance. So for the time we agreed not to attack the frog's tongue. Anyone have any ideas?
