I'll take 20 searching the area...brrr wet and cold...
"I'll need a torch"
Gambril will inspect the area directly around the rag...suspecting its a trap. 1d20+4=12
Gambril looks to the enigma named Cefrey...a pacifist acolyte carrying a warrior's weapon. Then he looks around again.
ACK the DM changed his icon!!!
Gambril will follow Cefrey back into the howling rain...
"What did you see Kef?"
In this inclement weather, the bow looks to be a hindrance, so while he's walking he returns the arrow to the quiver, and slings his bow. Then he draws his rapier.
Is this a one-room cabin?
Gambril, the last to step into the doorway of the cabin...
"Hello? Anyone home?"
"That's a likely source, unless of course..." in a "Dumberjack" voice "It were them's trespassers!"
Gambril isn't so much anxious, he's reactionary but not skittish. He's leaning against the cart, cross-legged with his bow not nocked but not drawn or readied...
"Guess you got more human blood than elf blood eh Tor?" Gambril says with a wink and a nudge..."Since we know them elfies like the rain, more than us round ears...eh...eh?
So, exactly what kind of debt are we going to be in from that little...uh...story element?
As in how much did we blow?
just a weird way to start the game...I mean we have a paladin in the group...how did we manage to be complete idiots? Especially knowing how kind and generous the lumber baron is...
"Ah, brave one that..."
watches Saffron with curiosity...having watched her the entire time, there's no hiding from his shrewd eye. Leaning cross-legged against the cart, Gambril draws an arrow and nocks it...just in case
Check the game thread Onyx, our characters are broke at the start, so better spend it all, or you'll have nothing...
"By the gods, I can't believe the horse died, it must have been some malady, it was eating plenty on the road, and the grass was dew-covered so there must have been enough water...if only we'd had a druid or ranger with us, perhaps they would have known what killed it..."
"What's that cabin? I don't seem to remember it being there from the trip to Olfden."

Glad I didn't choose a ranger or druid to play, I would have been quite perturbed with that introduction...and what kind of incompetents did you start us out as...we are now in debt to the lumber baron for that load of dark wood??? Cuz we went crazy and spent all the money? Now we're actually going back to that psychopath?
So, since we're starting penniless, I would guess we need to spend all our starting cash...and here I thought I was going to make a spendthrift character...perhaps I have some coins left in my parents house?
Need to get equipment...
So, looks like we've got
1/2 Elf Fighter Torrillan
Paladin (MythrilDragon)
Cleric of Shelyn (Kayos)
Human Rogue Gambril
1/2 Elf Rogue Saffron
No Arcane, but hey, I think we'll manage...or I hope we will...
cool, I'll be able to flesh him out even better with a couple traits... =D
In my home game I use the point buy system with the advantage/flaw system from RPGNow, modified to my system. So the entire character creation progress is done with points, should be pretty interesting...so take flaws to get more points, take cool advantages, etc.
Traits, from the Adventure paths, and available from the website for free...
Greythorne was a bit lost, he's in Bastion!!
(Wrong thread...This is where Gambril lives...oops)
(one of the few times I've gotten threads mixed up...)
Yeah are we doing traits?
Saffron, I wrote you into my background.
Xaaon's character in progress...
Gambril, small town kid wanting to leave, but tied to his mother, protecting her from his drunkard of a father.
2 rogues? oh how devious that would be....perhaps a childhood rivalry?
