"Look at me, those things are here because of that," Galwynn says pointing to the amphora. "If we take it and leave they will follow. If we don't they will just continue to attack until those people out there and us are all dead. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is run away. Do you want to be responsible for the deaths of everyone in this village?"

Galwynn (Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Fire Elemental Bloodline))

Shadowcount Sial

"We have to help them," Galwynn says. "The best way we can do that right now is to get out of town."

Galwynn (Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Fire Elemental Bloodline))

Shadowcount Sial

Galwynn rushes the serpentman that grabbed the amphora and swings his mace at him. 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14 to hit, 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9 damage

"Thank you for your intervention and your offer," Galwynn says to the Rivermaster. "We will not trouble your village beyond the sunrise tomorrow. Even if we are successful, I doubt many of us will travel this way again. I am truely sorry for the trouble we have brought you." Then pulling the Rivermaster aside so they my speak in private he adds, "I would watch Radraan. He seems to have his own agenda that ma not be the best for your people."

Galwynn (Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Fire Elemental Bloodline))

Shadowcount Sial

Galwynn glares at the priest. "I have taken an oath in the name of the Gods to deliver this to Vesh," he says. "Surely you of all people would not advocate breaking an oath to the Gods. If any of the rest of you are frightened I will take the relic by myself. This task appears to be my destiny."

Galwynn (Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Fire Elemental Bloodline))

Shadowcount Sial

"We must travel north and east to take this relic to safety," Galwynn says. "The way is one of the most treacherous on Scarn so we must be prepared. I suggest we leave at first light."

Galwynn (Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Fire Elemental Bloodline))

Shadowcount Sial

"I swear by Idra and Tanil that I will see this safely delivered to Vesh or die in the attempt," Galwynn says. Standing before the crowd he yells, "Who will join me in keeping this relic from falling into the hands of the foul Titanspawn?"

Galwynn (Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Fire Elemental Bloodline))

Shadowcount Sial

Galwynn pushes his way through the crowd and kneels over the man. "I am not a healer, I can not preserve your life," he tells the wounded man. "Only this man can do that. However, I can recover and protect your charge and I swear by Tanil's name that I will not allow it to fall into evil hands."

Galwynn (Male Human Sorcerer 1 (Fire Elemental Bloodline))

Shadowcount Sial

Galwynn jumps to his feet with his hand on the butt of his morningstar. "By the gods man, what happened to you," he asks.

Maro's eyebrows raise, "That is impressive! I have never been out of New Venir, and you are so travelled. Our little festival must seem seem a bit rustic."

On the one hand, he seems genuinely interested in the conversation, but his attention wanders, as his eyes dart over the crowd, as if perhaps looking for someone.

Looking for anyone in particular?

Radraan nods, seeming suitably impressed by Galwynn's admission.

"Indeed! A warrior-scholar, like the ancient lines of Lede far to the north. It would seem the Victors have blessed a man with such varied talents!"

The scowling redhead next to Radraan turns an appraising eye to Galwynn.
"Or a Titan, perhaps. What other talents might you possess Master Galwynn, if I may ask?"

Radraan takes her hand and laughs lightly.
"Oh, Paransala my dear, why ruin the fine lunch with talk of the Defeated and veiled accusations. Entirely unbecoming of you. Please, Master Galwynn, pay my friend no heed."

Paransala holds her glare a few moments longer before returning her attention to the rest of the Carnival.
"At least they got rid of the pig-wrestling this year...", she grumbles.

"No offense is taken my lord," Galwynn says. "I have some gifts at the Arts but that is all. To be honest I don't know where they came from whether from gods or Titans. Tha is why I have travelled to your fine villiage."

Maro had been distracted by a combination of stuffing venison into his mouth and eyeing one of the young women across the way, who was flirting openly with one of the other losers of the archery contest, but at Galwyn's comment, turns to regard the man.

"For a wandering scholar, you seem quite skilled with the bow, which is no trivial weapon to master." His head leans back as he speaks, receding further into the shadows, to get a clearer look at the man next to him, casting more of his face in shadow. Gesturing with a piece of roasted venison that he has been eating, he asks, "Do you hunt game?" before finishing this last piece.

"When I have to," Galwynn says. "And I studied at the Barrowhill War College before I became a scholar."

Galwynn winds up seated by the Belsamites Radraan and Maro. The two priests sit under the shade of an awning, the elder priest smiling his lizard smile and making pleasantries. A red-haired woman with a permanent scowl sits beside him, at odds with the revelry of the townsfolk.

"My young friend,"says the priest,"you did very well in the archery competition. Are you a caravan guard, by chance?"

Galwynn glances at the priest, trying to keep his discomfort from being noticed. "No, I'm not," he says. "I guess you could say I'm a wandering scholar."

Galwynn will participate in the archery contest. After the girls leave, Galwynn hears the call for the archery contest. He pulls out his bow and begins to string it in preperation for the competition.

Galwynn frowns at the grls. "No I don't know my parents names,"he says with a sad sigh. "My adoptive parents found me on their doorstep when I was an infant. The only thing they found was a note asking them to raise me as their own and warning that nobody must ever know I was adopted. My adoptive mother had just lost an infant in childbirth, so it as easy to pass me off as their own child."

The girls look at you wide-eyed, some of them blush.

"Oh! That's very different! Sorry for the mistake!"

The girls seem to deliberate for a moment.

"Do you mind... I hope we're not bothering you... but what's Shelzar like, really? I've heard people do it in the streets and have feast days every week! What brings you to Trela?"

"Honestly, Shelzar is much like here," Galwynn says. "Yes we are very open about sex, as befits a city that worships Idra, but contrary to popular belief there are not constantly orgies in the streets. You are more likly to run across someone playing Haggo. Most people are too busy trying to mkae a living for that to happen. For example my adopted father was a book merchant. Most of the books he sold were mundane things like how to fix a broken wagon wheel or how to sharpen a plowshare, or the proper type of wine to serve with fish, that kind of thing. And yes, we do have feasts every Wilday, but that is more of an excuse than an obligation. As for why I am here, I am searching for the truth about my birth parents, who I never knew, and my search has led me here."

Sorry, I have been very busy with the LSAT and looking for a job. Galwyn wanders the fair, gnawing on the leg of a local fowl as he looks over the various activities. The festival was entertaining in a quaint rural way, but he did not understand why he had been told to be here during thefestival. He did not see anything that would lead him to believe that there were any clues to his past here.

Looking around, Galwynn notices an old building made of stone on the outskirts of town: Belsameth's moon is carved in the lintel over the door.

Nearby, a tall merchant is talking to one of the Riverguards: "...wanted to get this blade looked at by that enchantress but she was asking far more than a fair price. You would think she was the only arcanist for miles!"
"She is, friend. Far as I know, at least."
"Oh. I suppose I'll have to wait until we get upriver. Thank you."
"Enjoy the carnival, sir."

"I can look at the blade for you sir, and I will do it cheap as well," Galwynn says.

He turns at Galwynn's offer.

"Oh? Lucky you overheard that, then. I bought this fine sword just the other day and I reckon it may be enchanted."
The merchant pulls out a well crafted longsword with a curved hilt. When he pulls it from the scabbard, you note that the weapon is indeed quite fine.
"I'm willin' to offer you 5 gold marks if you can at least tell me whether it's magical or not. What d'you say?"

"Gladly." Galwynn waives his hand over the blade and casts Detect Magic.

Looks good, but I think you're two points over on the attributes, taking the human bonus into account. If you drop your charisma by a point to 16, you'll be on par.

Fixed the abilities and added fluff.
