Cleric you see a (description) portal over thar. You remember from your training that this is a (whatever) portal and demons can spawn through it or blah blah. You'll need to make (3 successful DC 15 k-religion? checks) or do X amount of positive energy damage (channeling) to it in order to close it.

Round 1: 1 skeleton trhough the portal of Doom-itude
Round 2: 2 skeletons come through
Round 3: 3 come through

Soon they are going into defensive mode and making sure you can do your job uninterrupted. And reeeally hoping you get this job done soon before they're overwhelmed and have to try to flee.

I did the reverse of this the other day and it worked out well for my Wednesday game.

The group had to fight there way into a mine/cave to get to something that was creating skeletons. I had The difficulty slowly build up as they pressed in. I think 7/9 members really enjoyed it. The other two really didn't have much there characters could do that game but, buff the other party members.

You can't finish an attack if your dead.
So PC 2 lives.

I have been thinking it over greatly and I don't feel I can keep up the level of commitment needed to GM the game.
It pains me greatly but, I have to step down as acting GM.
I will leave this game open for you all to decide what actions you would like to take be it to find a new GM and push on or to disperse your separate ways.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration.
I wish you all the best.

It's been a busy few weeks with my job.
If i'm able to get back to business what would you like me to do? keep group as is or pick up others?

Ok we seem to be down to just 3 people. I am thinking that as sad as it is to say that we should call it closed as life issues seem to be calling me to it more and more. Opinions?

no-eyes:

Your influence has assisted Renzuran in influencing several shipmates there feelings for your group have improved 1 step.

Renzuran:

Renzuran your actions on the ship have impressed the individuals you spoke too. With No-Eyes help you both improved the three individuals talked too by at lest 1 step.

Morgan:

Shivikah smiles warmly however, in a surprise action she knees you where it counts and as you double over shoves you so you fall face first onto the deck. She mutters some very derogatory words at you before moving off.

Eugeni:

Mr. Plugg's grins slowly and then nods. "I be Mr. Plugg's your soon to be next captain. I be a mindful man and the lot over there seem to be a trubble some lot I want you to keep an eye on them for me and the information you bring to me will be well rewarded. what say you?"

All right, you scurvy tars! You've done a good job by me-we've got a second ship now and she's quite a prize from the looks of her. But I still only have one crew. So here's the plan, the Wormwood will sail on to our planned destination with our new shipmates here. While Mr plug and master scourge will pick a skeleton crew to sail The Man's Promise to Port Pearl, where she will be worth a pretty penny as salvage. As for these fine fellows here" Harrigan gestures at the remainder of the captured ship's crew, "Some of them with no doubt be with quite a ransom from their families back in Azir and for the rest, if the life of a pirate is not for them... Well then they can spend the rest of their lives at sea!

To make a point Harrigan grabs one of the Rahadoumi and throws her over boards to the accomplishment of cheers and laughter from the wormwood's crew. As an unfortunate woman sinks beneath the waves many other Rahadoumi soldiers scramble to swear allegiance.

The new sailors dispatch to do their new daily tasks MR. Plugs and Master Scourge take several of the Wormwood's original crew and tell them to board the man's promise within 10 minutes to set sail. As MR. Scourge chose the lot of you to join his crew an evil smile never leaves his face. You have little doubt that what is to come is no good for you or the rest of the new crew.

I'll give you all some time to figure out what you wish to do with your "10 minutes".

I have made changes to the NPC chart and I'm now working through the rest of the posts information. It should be up very soon.

Is it just me or have we lost more players?

I will be taking so hidden modifiers into account for the "4" days of partying So before I post i'd like to know the fallowing:

No-eyes: whats the end-goal with preform comedy?

Eugeni Banibani: Please give me a sense motive check here and I'll work the result here into the reply.

everyone else should be good. If youd like to post just too show activity that would be great. ^.^

I will be posting late tonight. I'm sorry for the delay I was hoping the missing few would post but, looks like they vanished so we will be pushing on without.

I updated the current players page as well. If you see a mistake please let me know.

As the parting starts up Mr. Plugg's and Master scourge approach the three new crew mates. "You three not be from Our original crew are you? Nd you lot don't look to belong to the Rahadoumi crew ether were'd you lot come from? They question of Eugeni Banibani, Tevyn de Fonseca, and Sasha Neville II.

Encase it wasn't seen in the last post. I'm trying to start up a chat with you three and Plugg's/Scourge.

Waiting for a few replies in game and then ill push on.
Seems like loot is 90% figured out?

As GM I'm going to let you all figure out how you want to do loot. If anyone wants my to step in please let me know.

No I mean 4 nighttime checks, it is a party no ones doing any real hard labor for two days.

Loot from Battle:

150gp each
1 Amulet of natural armor +1
1 Short sword +1
500gp to divide among group

As the battle winds down many of the Rahadoumi sailors can be seen surrendering and the Captain announces that the ship is now his! Looking over the crew he announces that for the next few days a celebration will be had to honor such a fine victory as this. As such he orders the finest of meals be cooked and partying to begin.

Feel free to make four nighttime actions everyone but the three listed above. I have other plans for you. (Insert evil laughs here.)

I'll wait one more day to post before I push on.

As Morgan knocks one of the two working on the boat out cold Servi casts a spell. The spell works like a charm and suddenly the remaining two soldiers stop what there doing in a dazed fashion, dropping there weapons as they do.

Thus ending combat.

I am going to give you all a few rounds to talk to each other and figure out whats what about these new people you just met in combat with. Sandara seemed to trust them given the 18 seconds she had and brought them to you all. (both ways) Then I will be pushing on into the story.

to hit: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
to save: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10

In this case a weapon like that is #4 on the list.

DM Blake is correct.

Tevyn crit damage please. Tevyn and Eugeni please put your: AC,T,FF,HP,Fort, exc in your class section. Thanks.

I'm assuming #3 lives through your hit for the moment Tevyn. I will change that accordingly if need be after I see your crit damage.
As Tevyn strikes #3 the man to the side of him takes the opportunity to attack him.(#4) opportunity attack 6 Damage to Tevyn.
If Tevyn's crit doesn't kill #3
No eyes attack just barley hits the man as he wakes from tevyn's attack putting him out cold. I believe you get another +2 for attacking a prone target in melee. If not its close enough to hit for me this time.

As #4 sees his mate go down gets into a fit of rage and swings as hard as he can at Tyven, hitting him again. normal hit 6 damage

As Tevyn and no-eyes and, Morgan work on the Rahadoumis gunmen, the battle for the longboat grows ever more interesting.

when Renzuran moves up the Officer takes the chance to hit him with her weapon but, is unable to connect as the wind blast from Eugeni hits her knocking her off balance for a moment... The two men at the sides of the boat however, keep at there work on the longboat getting it almost ready for deployment. (2 rounds)

Servi swings with her weapon hitting #5 hard making the man drop his weapon and call out asking to surrender dropping his weapon as he does so.

dice:

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 191d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 normal hit 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
fort save to live for #3: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 121d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 1 = 101d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 201d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

MAP

sorry for the delay, had several big projects at work and a sibling graduating. However, in about 2/3 weeks my schedule will open up a lot more as school gets out. (I work IT at a k-12 school.)

The marksmen having been "tricked" by Tevyn aim's his gun to help his comrades firing upon the soldier working on the boats. (#4) His aim is true and strikes hard The man looks surprised to have been shot and in a bit of confusion starts moving to attack the gunmen. However, Renzuran and No-Eyes get there first striking the man out cold with a powerful blow.

As all this chaos goes on Tevyn and Servi both set up for coup de grace's hoping to take two opponents out of the match. Servi's target however, gets hit by Eugeni's attack in all thats going on.

Tevyn and Servi nonlethal coup de grace is except-able. However, It takes a full round to pull off. (sadly both will have lost the helpless condition already or by next round.)

Sasha Neville II if your seeing this go ahead and take your turn as well as an opportunity attack.

In the chaos of the fight the cabin door burst open and two Rahadoumi swordsman and what looks to be a captain with a polearm come running out and to the right. The two Rahadoumi swordsman start in on setting the boat free. (3 rounds!!!) As the Captain takes up a defensive position to attack any in her reach.

I believe that covers everything this round. Please correct me if I am wrong.

MAP

dice and damage:

attack on #4: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
damage: 1d12 ⇒ 5
#3 not hurt
#4 has taken 6 damage
#5 has taken 4 damage

#11 no damage
#12 no damage
#13 no damage

Waiting on more posts.

The wizard slightly panics as Morgan and no eyes closes in hitting the wizard as they do knocking him out cold. The marksmen starts to shake off the confusion he was in and reloads his weapon. Renzurans arrow shattering against the floorboards of the marksmen's feet. Tevyn your spell worked on #2 as #3 is asleep for one more round.

The sounds of orders comes closer. Perception if you wish too. Of the two men making there way access the deck servi and eugeni'sspell gets there marks.

will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
will save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Ok here is the map. If you are not satisfied with location let me know.

MAP

to Sasha: The two that escaped the ropes are those the ones from your animate rope spell, correct.

As the cleric grows Morgan gets a clean shot and hits the cleric hard.
The cleric in a fit of rage swings and hits Morgan just as hard. correct me if I am wrong but I believe that is 22 points of damage to you Morgan.
luckly no eyes swings hitting the claric with a powerful blow putting the claric out cold but stable. No-eyes there is some space to move around you don't need an acrobatics check this time. So I'll take that as your to hit. I'll make sure to post a map for battles from know on for clarity in position. ^.^;

While this is going on Renzuran and Servi's spells hit the two marksmen putting one asleep and the other becomes confused at to why the other guy just fell asleep at a time like this. However, the wizard casts grease on one of the tied up soldiers and with that both finally manage to brake free from the ropes and start to head to the other side of the ship. As sounds of orders can be heard from were the three new crew mates came from.

dice:

Sorry for the delay. Birthdays have a way of throwing off a schedule. More so when its my own XD. Will post tomorrow.

Every one please feel free to post your actions for the turn.

Hey Servi, I went and checked on the hex slumber(aka sleep) it lasts for 1 min./level (one round is 6 sec, so sleep lasts 10 rounds at first level. 20 at second.) that changes things for you all.

Like the wind Renzuran shifts his weight giving the other man what he things is the advantage however, the man falls into Renzurans attack. The Man yells out in pain falling to his knees. "I submit just please don't kill me!!! Just as the man yells this Tevyn comes in bashing the man over the head knocking him out and No-eyes arrives just in time to see the cleric grow.

Morgan steps up again to the cleric and swings with great strength but, his swing is to strong and misses the cleric. As he does the cleric suddenly starts to grow and a magical blade appears in his hands. As the spells go off Servi's arrow hits the wizard at the same time Eugeni's storm hits as well.
The marksmen up on the next deck start reloading their weapons.

Morgan and No-eyes please give me an attack of opportunity.

That hit please give me damage.

Ok thanks for the heads up. No problems I know full well what that's like. Have fun in China.

Among the chaos a few of you call out a warning to the Captain and just as it looks like the Rahadoumi swordsman will get the better of him the captain stabs his sword backwards killing the man were he stands. He then looks up at the group and waves before continuing on into the underbelly of the ship.

The Rahadoumi swordsman with Renzuran still continue there war against each other to gain the upper hand no-eyes doing what he can to help but, so far the oracle/rogue has had no luck finding an opening.

The cleric backs up again as Morgan close in on the fellow and starts casting a spell... His wizard friend also starts casting a spell...
The gunmen take a careful shot at the captain as he ran into the ship but, both missed there shot.

Among the chaos and fighting all but, Sasha and Ranzuran notice Captain Barnabus Harrigan running twords the group. what looks to be a human heart in one hand and his sword in the ather. As he gets closer one of the Rahadoumi swordsman brakes free from the chaos and starts to catch up to the captain from behind. The captain looks to be unaware of the man approaching him.

combat actions please and if you wish to warn the captain its a free action (to speak).

Hearing Morgans words the man drops his weapon and stays low. The Rahadoumi swordsman and Renzuran's continue there tug of war so to speak to gain the upper hand but, neither pulls ahead so far. The cleric backs up as Morgan starts to close in on the fellow. His wizard friend however casts magic missile as he gets up aiming for Morgan. Having become very aggression on there cleric the group of gunmen turn there focus on Morgan and hit the poor Man HARD. The after shock of the shot leaves little in the way of understanding that if those gun shot hit more things could, and may turn ugly fast if not handled.
16 damage Morgan

The men work on the long boats rapidly as a gust of wind knocks one backwords Tripping one up and pushing the other into the ropes of Sasha's spell tangling them both up for the moment... As the wind disperses so does one of the fog spells, at lest for know.
Boat freed 1/6

Give me perception rolls please!

Again the Rahadoumi swordsman yells out as Morgans sap hits its mark. The man looks back at Morgan and falls to his knees. "I submit please no more! The man begs. The claric of the group again starts to show signs of life as the spells effects start to fade.

Renzuran's advantage in the grid lock with the man on the second stair starts to even out until one of the marksmen fires and hits Renzuran. 3 damage

No-Eyes:

nothing else sticks out to you. You can see the group in combat though.

Sandara turns to Sasha "Pirates looking to tak this ship and as much of the crew as possible into our fold. You help us now and I am sure you'll get rewarded by the cap-n. As she looks around she catches 3 soldiers running up the steps. After them! can't let them excape! As she yells this they burst through the door and onto the main deck. All three make a mad dash for the side of the ship. Where two of them start to free the first of two long boats... The last man looks ready to fight off any aggressors and he moves his weapon as such.

No-Eyes perception roll please

The Rahadoumi swordsman aells out in pain as Morgans sap hits its mark. The man looks back at Morgan after a moment of pain his eyes seem to be glazed over in a fit of rage and swings his sword this time it finds its mark. The wizard of the group starts to wave his hand again but, this time however, is cut short as he slumps down fast asleep.

Renzuran in his grid lock with the man on the second stair well starts to gain the advantage as his weapon finds its mark and the other mans weapon doesn't find his.

The two marksmen on the sterncastle again fire off there weapons both however, miss there mark again.

No-Eyes perception < or = 10:

two boats sit on the side of the ship both are your average long boat.

Gork gets a slight jab from Cog "Grok they be telling the truth. Look this gear looks warn down only a pirate of our lovely seas would ever use such ... things. Grok turn to look at Cog who had started helping himself to your gear... "Get out of there! She yells. "But, your point well taken. You three gear up and be ready for Sandara here to lead you back out onto deck. I think the newbees may find good friends out of these three... " They both smile and Sandara nods. Sandara then gets the keys from the dead soldier and opens the jail. "Ok you three grab your gear and get ready. You heard the quartermaster. Well be heading on deck to help capture the Aft deck and sterncastle. Any questions feel free to ask as you get ready." She smiles friendly and opens the gate wide open. It will take a round for you all to get ready.

attack on Morgan: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

As Morgan rushes up the Rahadoumi swordsman swings his sword in greeting. "Attack this ship will you. You bloody Pirates are going to pay dearly." However both men's weapons clash together both having done no damage to the other. The claric of the group raises his holy symbol and starts to chant however, Servi's hex reaches him first and he falls to the floor deep asleep. As Servi's target slumps down the man nest to her turns and with a few waves of his hand a needle strikes her dealing 5 points of damage.

Renzuran seeing a moment of clarity among-st the chaos rushes the second stairway casting as he does. The soldier also swings at him in greeting but, his aim is off as the ships take a sudden jolt. Sandara, Grok and Cog take the opportunity to run into the captains quarters and down the stairs...

The two marksmen on the sterncastle picked there targets and with the sound of thunder there muskets go off. However, only one bullet is felt as it passes Morgans side. There coursing of the fog reminds the lot of you of Krine as they curse and yell.

The sudden jolt of the ship makes the sailor watching over the Rahadoumi prisoners stagger into bars of the cell and then onto his sword as three unknown persons approach. The man is with in reach but, these three are armed and look ready to kill when there eyes fall on the group. "Hello hello, what have we here..." Grok growls but, her growl starts to turn into a half smile. "Prisoners or mutiners? you think? She turns to Sandara and Cog "What do you two say we do with them?... Eugeni Banibani, Tevyn de Fonseca, and Sasha Neville II this parts for you three. There will be some connections to the crew you had but, I will have those connections show up later for know everyone's unknown. (Rosie for example had a twin sister.)

Servi took 5 damage (Magic missile)

Any last things you wish to pick up?

Krine starts to walk off turning to Morgan "You'll have to go by one from Grok. With that she stalks off, her conversation finished with you all and finds another group to pass orders to. The other officers are very active as they wait for the other vessel to finally come within range. The crew is ready with all manor of boarding equipment. Peppery can be seen on the forecastle, standing there ready to act.

In time the vessel now identifiable as a rahadoumi vessel closes to within a close firing range. At exactly that moment the ship cannon go off and the opposing ship's crew open fire as well. A moment later, Peppery goes into a fury of casting and the rahadoumi ship is covered no in a blanket of fog. As the ships move closer and closer together, the rahadoumi vessel sails out of one cloud only to be trapped in another.

The ships finally come near enough that the pirates begin hooking the two vessels together. As the ships come together pirates swarm over the rails onto the other ship, Captain Harrigan at the front, all of them disappearing into the fog.

There are 6 rahadoumi sailors between the aft deck and sterncastle. Two with swords on both stairs up blocking a clear path, two with muskets on the sterncastle, one with a holy symbol and one hands free. The last two are on the Aft deck.

The fog is very thick. So concealment against those adjacent to you. Full Concealment (effectively invisible) against those further away. Same effect as a fog cloud spell. The ship will move in and out of the fog, so I'll let you know when it lifts and when it returns. To the crew that join from my other game round 3 will bee when your set free into the chaos. All your gear is in a chest just out of your reach for now.

Just waiting on more posts.

Just so we are clear, Servi you have your companion and everyone is at full health. Also, Servi thats fine stuff happens. Morgan because of the sweatbox your a little stiff but, the saves left you in good health so to speak. Nothing a little rum and a good fight can't cure.

After some time waiting Riaris Krine walks over to the group. Her mood foul and the words that came out of her mouth more so. "You good for nothing landy's haven't even gotten properly trained by me yet and your about to see your first pillaging. It would be best if you lot stayed out of the way. However, Cap-n wants you lot to hold the Aft deck and sterncastle of there ship. that much should be simple enough for you lot." A few moments pass and she speaks up again "Ah and don't let anyone escape the ship. We be aiming to take that ship for ourselves and will need all the crew we can get from whats left after the fight. I'll leave how you do it to you. more deaths means less profit for all. WE CLEAR!!!"

Now would be the time for any questions. About the fight about to happen.

I plan to post again in the game thread tonight. welcome again to this group. This will allow me to post more and get you all to the fun stuff. :) I'm working out the fine details as I go on this so hang with me. This up coming fight should work out nicely for everyone.

Ps we should be seeing 3 more people join us so please welcome them. ^.^

ok so heres the plan.
I'm going to have you three join the other group they are about to engage in there first real combat. So I think thats a good place for you all to join.

I will have you all jump in on round 4. (You three were bound up to be executed on dry land for being pirates and held below deck. Sandara is the one who found you and will be freeing you. All three of you will have your full gear and spells ready to go. Below is the link to the group.

discussion page

I will close this group once i see you all posted here and in the discussion page on the other group.

Doreen when things calm down your welcome to come back. I know what real life workloads can be lick good luck. :)

Its late at night when Morgan is released from the sweat box. Sandara, kroop, Grok and, the Captain are all there to great him as he steps out. With a nod from the Captain Sandara starts healing Morgan back to full health. 'There's a ship ahead of us and I want it taken. Get below deck and sleep well for tomorrow will be a busy day." With that the captain walks off.

"The plan is to have the crew hit hard tomorrow evening so you have some time but, be ready when the time comes." Sandara whispers.
