Draco aims a pillar of golden fire at the remaining Lizardfolk, but it dives aside!

The effect is that Orange is super DEAD and all attacks against him will be redirected, again very sorry for missing this!

Krissina struggles with the dying lizardman before her, but he holds on tight and doesn’t give her the room to stab him again!

Rakish slithers swiftly through the water up behind the lizardfolk fighting Ravvek. Bursting out of the murky water he strikes, missing with his first axe but hitting with his second, cutting the lizardfolks scaly back!

Glenda sends a frozen looking Finn streaking towards the same lizardman, Fynn strikes leaving ice crystals forming all over the mans body, as it seems his joints freeze up!
Green takes 5 Dmg

Sera Still to act!

Ravvek thrusts his blade into the lizardfolks side, giving him a deep belly wound, the lizardfolk opens his mouth, lets out a gurgle and then slumps forward dead!!
Green takes 7 Dmg

Surprisingly it seems these Lizardfolk are prepared to fight to the death!

KRISSINA: So I forgot about your cutting words, Although it wasn’t with poison weapons, when I hit Ravvek and Sera in my above post all three hits were within 3 of the respective ACs. In fact I hit Ravvek twice right on his AC. If you’d like to retroactively apply your cutting words to one of these hits I’m ok with that.

Krissina draws her Rapier lashing out at the lizardman before her, stabbing him right through the chest! He hissses in pain, mane gasps for breath, but doesn’t fall!!

Rakish finds five humans, three men and two women, two male dwarves and three female halflings, all tied to a rail on the raft. He quickly cuts their bonds They shy away but then become calm as they realise this Lizardfolk is here to help...

”I don’t know what your about, goin’ against yer kin, but I won’t run and hide... “ Says one of the dwarves, breaking off a piece of the rail to use as a makeshift weapon!

Rakish then draws his axe and turns back towards the battle!

Glenda looks dubiously at the murky muddy water before sending Fynn back out to strike at they lizardfolk fighting her companions! The fish slaps them furiously before returning to hr hand!

Ravvek grunts with pain as the spears leave minor cuts, he’s more concerned about the poison he suspects is coursing through his veins and he calls on his divine power to shake of the effects!

Draco slogs forward through the mud, that sucks at his boots making it difficult... he sends out another plume of fiery rays that strike around the melee... one of his rays smashes off a lizardfolks shield, and burns into his chest, the lizardfolk hops and howls and drops his burning shield! Green

The lizardfolk continue to fight despite taking some serious wounds!

Red: skewered by Krissina’s blade the lizardfolk drops his spear, grabs her arm and pulls her forwards, biting down on her shoulder!!

Flynn flashes foward striking the lizardfolk shaman once, twice, three times. The shaman flies back slashing into the murky water sinking down, clearly out of the fight!

Ravvek strikes true with his rapier leaving a nasty, but shallow wound on the sadly lizardman next to the boat!

The remaining Lizardfolk surround the boat drawing small spears and stabbing at Sera, Krissina and Ravvek!!

Red V Krissina : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

Ravvek is poisoned. He takes Poison damage : 1d4 ⇒ 4 and has disadvantage on attacks and ability checks for the next hour. Otherwise he may act normally.

Krissina fires another crossbow bolt that whizzes past the Lizardfolk shamans head!

Rakish keeps swimming, pulling the raft with him!
AoO: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Piercing : 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
He feels Lizardfolk teeth rip into his leg as he swims away!

Glenda pilots the boat hurriedly trying to get away from the enormous snake.
At this point the boat is actually very close to the lizardfolk so you can use your action for something else if you'd like to Glenda.
The snake snaps at her as she does so!
Snake AoO : 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8

Seraphyna turns to the giant python and strikes a hurried pose! Sending her pink magical energy crackling into the water beside it!

Draco casts a fiery spell sending burning rays out to strike at three of the lizardmen, two manage to dodge but the third is struck in the chest, and the smell of burning flesh fills the air as the ray leaves a nasty burn on the shaman!
Shaman Con save : 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
The shaman flinches and as he does the snake is suddenly sucked back down into the water where it came from!!

Ravvek aims true and an arrow sprouts from one of the Lizardfolk's sides!

Draco jumps from the raft, running over a muddy island, he calls on the power of his god sending a pillar of golden fire down on the nearest lizardfolk.

The Lizardfolk shout in surprise, looking all around!

Krissina levels her crossbow and pulls the trigger! The bolt flashes through the air glancing off a lizardman's head!

In the confusion, from beneath the raft Rakish drags it towards dry(ish) ground!

Sera strikes a pose, rocking the boat just a little, she sends pink energy arcing towards the lizardfolk, but it strikes a tree, blasting a burning hole in it!

Glenda focuses on pushing the boat along, she happens to luckily steer it straight into a strong current that pushes the boat almost all the way up to the lizardfolk warriors!!
Got to love that halfling luck!

Ravvek draws back another arrow, but unfortunately the shot goes wide!

Draco calls down another blast of golden flames but this time the Lizardman is ready, and ducks beneath the murky surface of the water to avoid them!

Lizardfolk actions:

Red: One of the lizardfolk swims up to the side of the boat, drawing a net and hurling it at Ravvek!

But he misses!

Orange: another dives under the raft, swimming forward, jaws open he bites Rakish!

Blue & Green: The other two raise dart guns to their snouts and with a puff of air they send darts flying at Ravvek and Sera

Your DM is finding his promotion to management a little tricky.

Glasstaff glares daggers at Felicia but then slowly nods and complies with her request, dropping to the ground, face down.

With Iago back on his feet, the group chases after Felicia, up the stairs back into the ruined kitchen of Transender manor... They find Felicia standing over the prone form of Glasstaff, tying his hands with some rope.

Just so you don't forget, there's a treasure chest in the crevasse and you still haven't explored the northeast side of the hideout.

Rakish slips quietly into the murky water, dipping beneath the surface he disappears from view, leaving hardly any visible disturbance as he swims to the Lizardfolk raft.

Everyone can act, Then Ravvek and Draco may post round 2 actions.

The Lizardfolk raft is about 0ft away, there is a muddy little island with trees growing on it between your boat and their raft. For simplicities sake everywhere is difficult terrain and costs double movement. The boat can be moved 25ft a round Or 50ft a round with a PC spending their action and making a DC10 watercraft (dex or str) check

I've done a 'quick' map and posted it under the link in my tag line. Rakish can be anywhere near the raft or even under it. I'll do my best to make another one tonight where tokens can be moved.

Glenda and Sera can have inspiration!

Ravvek and Krissina get the boat moving again once everyone gets back on board. The group head onward getting ever closer to the centre of the swamp as Rakish navigates. After a time of rowing through a maze of tall reeds in the dark, the rain pouring down but now easing into a steady drizzle, you hear a spat of drums that seem quite close, ahead and to your left a little...

Heading in that direction you finally come to the edge of the reed maze and in the distance through a thick stand of old trees that grow on a muddy island you see several humanoid shapes, most likely lizardfolk, guiding a long raft lit by torches. The raft appears to carry more humanoids that are sitting on the raft's surface, but it is difficult to make out who or what they might be. The guides are waist deep in water in front, behind, and next to the raft. They don't appear to have noticed you.

Rakish cuts deep in the toad as it flees, it still manages to hop quickly away, but leaves a trail of blood as it does so!

Glenda sends Finn flying at the other toad, the fish slaps at the toad, which shudders as a chill runs through its bones, leaving an ice burn on its slimy skin

Krissina leaps forward drawing her rapier and sends a quick cut at the toad, but not quick enough to catch it...

Rakish turns his attention to the other toad, diving under the boat and flashing up onto the other bank near Ravvek! He slashes with his axes and gives the toad two deep cuts!

Sera fires off another blast that scorches the toads head as it passes by!
That's a hit.

Ravvek thrusts his rapier deep into the toads belly, blood pumps out from the wound as the toad sways and lets out a weak croak.

Finally as Draco chants another pillar of golden flames roars up around this toad, scorching and burning it's flesh! When the flames subside a second later, the toad lies still, burnt to a crisp!

Dex save : 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

With the toad defeated, a quick search of the imediate area reveals the skeletal remains of a few less fortunate folk, their ruined weapons and packs and a few coin purses!

Flynn flashes out from Glenda's hand slapping the toad furiously, its wide head snapping back and forth!

With a click and twang, Krissina sends a crossbow bolt flashing through the reeds, and past the toad about a foot to its left...

Rakish keeps from the boat and slashes at the toad with his axes, the first flashes past as the toad jumps to the right, but the second cuts deep into the creatures bloated green body!

Sera strikes her pose and sends pink energy careening off its shoulder, leaving a nasty burn!

Ravvek draws his sword facing off against the toad on the left, ready to strike if it shoul;d approach!

Dex Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Well... that's not going to do it...
Suddenly golden flames roar up in front of Rakish, catching the toad fully burning and scaring it's green skin!

The toad leaps away as quick as it can! Leaving itself open to an attack from Rakish!
This toad is taking the dash action, Rakish can take an AoO

On the other side of the boat the toad on the left leaps forward sending it's tongue towards Ravvek! Ravvek stabs at the toad piercing it's side, but only shallowly. The toad attacks, opening its maw wide!
Left Toad VS Ravvek : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Ravvek fends the toad off easily with his shield!

Felicia charges up the stairs and through the kitchen, spotting Glasstaff she sends a blast of her Eldritch energy right into his back!

He arcs backwards screaming in pain and collapses forwards into a crumbling cabinet, breathing heavily...

" I surrender, I surrender! " he croaks weakly with urgency... holding his hands in front of him.

Literally on 1HP...

Meanwhile back in the cavern Rothwillian jogs back in to see Iago climbing out of the crevasse with Arvhil and Raghnall's help.

Going to move on to the next 'scene'

The staccato beat of drums echo all around, now from this way and then from that... each burst is 'answered' by a burst from further south. With no other indication of where the group should head they continue to move further towards the centre of the marsh and the loudest drum beats.

The rain continues to pour down and everyone is thouroughly drenched as Draco Ravvek and Glenda move it through an area thick with tall, wide, and dense blades of greenish brown grass bordering the labyrinthine waterways. The wall-like growths make it appear as though the boat is traveling watery hallways. Crossings occur frequently, opening suddenly to one or both sides. A slow current guides your way.

Standing on the boat, characters six feet in height can barely see over the tops of the grasses, which wave and rustle in a strong, breeze. The plants are growing in the shallower areas, and the channels you are using are only a few feet deep.

Rakish notices two massive toads lurking in the reeds on either side. He gives a quick warning as one hops forward shooting out a long tongue straight at Sera!!

With Rakish's timely warning everyone has a chance to react!

Glenda and Ravvek manage to steer the boat slowly over to the floating body.

Searching the body:

You pull the body into the boat and find the lizardfolk was equipped with a net, a heavy wooden club and a spiked shield made from wood and bones. He also has a wooden blowgun and five small darts carefully stowed in a leather pouch and likely poisoned...

Gm roll :

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Perception DC19 (Disadvantage Dim light & Rain):

You notice another scout retreating slowly and carefully to the north west

Everybody could help, but as soon as one person does the "main person" gets advantage. So there isn't a benefit of more than one person helping.

Giving everyone disadvantage on their attack rolls seems to have been overkill...
looking up the rules the dim light only gives disadvantage on perception checks. Total darkness gives the blinded condition which gives disadvantage on attack rolls... Sorry folks.
Looking back on the past round and taking everyone's first attack rolls, there isn't a difference to hits and misses anyhow.

Glenda and Ravvek struggle with the poles, trying to get the boat moving in the right direction they manage to get it to move about 25ft in the right direction...

Seeing a flash of scales through the darkness and rain, Krissina takes a shot with her crossbow, but cant tell if she hit or missed...

Sera strikes a pose and shoots a crackling pink bolt of energy that arcs down into the water striking the lizardfolk scout and outlining his form in the murky water. His body jerks violently and then falls still, floating on the surface!

Glenda flings Finn at the Lizardfolk scout as he turns to swim but the fish slaps against only water before returning to the halfling.

Ravvek lets his arrow fly but his aim is thrown off by Draco's spell.

Sera casts her spell, pink sand bursting over the lizardfolk scout, his head droops but then he shakes it off and prepares to keep swimming!

Burning golden flames decend on the scout searing his scaly skin and boiling the water around him!

Rakish (dimlight) disadvantage : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Rakish (dimlight) disadvantage : 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Rakish fires two arrows in quick succession the first hits the water harmlessly but the second strikes his target in the shoulder!

Hung grips the side of the boat unsure of how he can stop the scout from getting away!

Krissina snatches up her crossbow, her eyes able to pick out the scout with ease she fires a bolt straight into the Lizardfolk side!

Wounded and burnt the scout takes a deep breath and dives below the surface swimming away at speed, leaving a wake behind!
Takes the dash action

The lizardfolk scout is below the surface now, 85ft away in through the darkness and rain. Without giving chase it will be impossible to target him specifically,

To give chase piloting the boat make a DC15 (Dex or Str) watercraft piloting check, if two or more people work together, the person with the highest bonus can make the check with advantage. With the pilot/s taking the dash action and making a successful check the boat can be moved 50ft

characters wishing to delay until the boat moved will need to take readied actions. Ranged attack with projectile weapons like bows and crossbows will still be at Disadvantage due to dimlight, rain and the target being underwater.

Arvhil spins his flail, it glances off the Nothic's shoulder grazing the thing's tough hide, but his next blow cracks right on the side of it's head, crushing bone and brain! It falls limply to the stony floor!

Iago finds himself lying in a layer of old brittle bones, mostly of small creatures like rats and birds but there is the odd larger bone... about ten feet away, he sees the shape of a large treasure chest!

Still to act Rothwillian and Felicia, Glasstaff has escaped to the ruined manor above but you can still give chase! He's about 55ft from Rothwillian's position!

The doctor is called, but Kalus is fading quickly as the poison burns through his veins! The Bith strides in in a business like manner, making a face as he notes the dead Quarren assassins. He sets a bag down next to Kalus and starts getting equipment out, and works quickly and efficiently to neutralise the poison.

After a few minutes Kalus's breathing eases and the doctor starts packing hos gear back up. "You all need to be careful where you tread here or you'll wind up dead, and I'll wind up dead for helping you!" He says as he stands and then strides out of the door with out another word.

About 10 minutes later Kalus comes to feeling very weak... The stunned Quarren still lies unconscious on the floor...

Everyone piles into the boat and shoving off from the gravel bar, and beginning the trip downstream. The current of the river speeds you along as the sun dips towards the horizon. Clouds roll in and about an hour and a half the rain starts pouring down and the drums start, Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Badadadadadadadada Boom, boom boom boom, badadadadadadadada boom...

Never ceasing for more than a moment they seem to come from all directions as they echo around, Rakish can tell that there is meaning in them but the patterns are unfamiliar to him.

Half an hour later, the river widens and slows as you reach the edge of the marsh and twilight has suddenly turned into the deepest night due to the cloud cover and rain...

Survival DC12 :
You spot a trail of flattened reeds through the marsh, perhaps the way the lizardfolk took their barge...

Perception DC16 (Disadvantage from darkness) :

You hear the slightest splash of water and your eyes are draw to some movement off in the darkness! You spot the eyes of a Lizardfolk scout gleaming as they watch you from the water.

The tracks all lead back to the river, where the raft or barge had been beached on the gravel bar, most of the clues point towards the Lizardfolk but the only way to know for sure seemed to be to head down river into the marsh!

With only a few hours of light left today the choice had to be made if you would head into the marsh, knowing it would be dark when you arrived. Camp at the farm overnight or even head back to the Inn and set out again in the morning...

"I'll be no help going into the Marsh..." Taroo says, "But your welcome to take the boat, I'll tend to the animals and do my best to lock up the buildings here, then head back to the Crossing inn."

Raghnall dashes past the surrendering Redbrand to try and stop the Nothic from dragging Arvhil into the pit.

Iago dashes down the other way, forgetting in his haste that the southern bridge is rigged to collapse! As he steps onto the bridge he feels it begin to give way, leaping with all his might he manages to grab hold of the edge and cast his healing spell on Arvhil!

Rothwillian closes the distance with Glasstaff, his rapier drawn, demanding surrender!

Felicia, staggers under the rain of magic missiles but then puts everything she has left into a blast of magic directed at Glasstaff, the magic streaking from her outstretched finger and slamming into the wizard!

Glasstaff reels from Felicia"s magical blast but he still up. He smirks at Rothwillian, and tries to grab the halfling as his hand arcs with electricity!

Glasstaff's smirk turns into a frown of frustration and with a growl he lets out an incantation and silvery mist envelopes him once more, when it clears the wizard has teleported again! He runs out of the hideout and into the ruins of the manor above!

You can still chase him, he's about 55ft away from Rothwillian.

The Nothic lets go of Arvhil and tries to knock Iago off the edge of the crevasse!

There was a fair amount of evidence pointing to the Lizardfolk around the farm, but some things didn't add up. Why were they using a boat on their raids

Some of the tracks led back to the river, and some went off towards the other nearby farms.

A quick search of the two neighbouring farms turned up similar evidence. At the Alyin farm the small farmhouse has been broken into and the young couple (as Taroo describes them) are missing. Their Barn doors are wide open and their Ox is missing, tracks leading back towards the river.

The Tralio's are missing too, with signs of a struggle in their farmhouse, but in their pastures their are several cows still grazing and in a separate paddock a large Bull watches as you walk past... the fence of his paddock is broken.

Perception DC12 :
You notice that the bulls horns are caked with dry blood, and a blood trail leads out of the paddock and back down towards the river...

If your passive perception ever beats a Perception DC I place in a spoiler you don't need to roll (unless you're in a stressful situation.)

The remaining redbrands eyes follow the limp body of his ally as it falls with a thud into the ravine! He stares at Iago and after a fraction of a seconds thought he casts down his sword with a clatter just as Ràghnall's arrow soars over his head!

Redbrand 4 surrenders!

Felicia and Rothwillian continue to run through the hallway after Glasstaff, rounding a corner they see him holding a dripping wet leather satchel. He gives Felicia an odd look. He holds out his hand palm towards her. As he chants blue orbs fly around his hand and then flash out pummelling Felicia!

Magic Missile (lvl 2 slot): 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1, 1, 4) + 4 = 12

The magic missiles leave her hurting all over as Glasstaff turns and continues to run up the stairs towards the ruined manor above

Climbing nimbly up the side if the crevasse comes the Nothic, sideling up to the still form of Arvhil, it grabs the paladin by the leg and begins dragging him back towards the ravine!

There are definitely clawed footprints around that look like Lizardfolk tracks.

You can team up on the investigation checks and have the person withe the highest bonus roll with Advantage if you like.

The Farmhouse
The farmhouse is a well-built, low 20 ft. x 40 ft. sturdy wooden structure with walls stained dark green. The roof is wood shingles. There are front and back doors, and a pair of small rippled glass windows into each room. It has wood floors and a six-foot high ceiling. Inside the front door is a large living space with a fireplace. A narrow hallway leads past a small bedroom to the kitchen in the back. There are no interior doors. A large fireplace dominates the kitchen, and it is clear that food preparation occurs both inside and at tables behind the house.

There has been a struggle here, damaged furniture, dried blood spots and splatters up the wall, though not an extensive amount and a bloody woodsmans axe with a broken handle is stuck in the wall next to the broken in door! A crude and broken club lies on the kitchen floor and there are claw marks all over the wooden floors.

Investigation DC11 :
The club is made of wood common to the swamp, though similar trees grow along the river sometimes.

Investigation or Survival DC15 :
The claw marks are heavier as they're leaving out the back door, and there are marks in the dirt path that indicate someone was dragged back down towards the river bank.

Perception DC 15 :
You notice a loose floor board in the bedroom, beneath you find a small chest that contains 10 gp, 22 sp, 52 cp. There is also a silver necklace inlaid with finely cut agates worth 20 gp.

The Chicken Coop
This area seems undisturbed, chooks scratch around in the dirt and there are none of the claw marked tracks around it.

Taroo's Cottage
Taroo's rough wooden cottage is a single 10 ft. x 10 ft. room with a small window next to the front door. The door is smashed in, but its worn table and chairs are undisturbed. The bed is overturned, as though someone looked under it. Nothing is missing.

Barn

The barn is a story and a half tall stout wood structure. Access is through the main doors on the west side, with two additional doors on the north and east sides. The north door leads to the pig sty, and the east doors open into the pasture.

All of the doors are smashed in, showing clear impacts from clubs. Taroo realizes several large pigs are missing. Smaller pigs remain inside the north side of the barn. The two cows and the ox are gone. Clawed footprints cover the dirt floor.

Investigation Dc14 :
You can tell that the cows were led out of the barn by the clawed creatures, and led back down to the river.


North Field

The north field has the first green shoots of the spring grain planting. An ox-drawn plow sits at the south edge of the field, near the barn.

South Field

The south field shows the first shoots of a variety of vegetables. Three clear sets of clawed footprints lead from the compound through the field and towards the Alyin's farm to the south.

Well

The well is shallow and stone lined. A dozen battered wood buckets are stacked around the well next to a ragged rope.

"Hmm, it's nothing I've ever used in farming, must have belonged to the raiders." Taroo replies to Sera.
"If it's alright with you I'd like to check on the Renons' farm first? It's this way... We can check the Tralio farm afterwards and the Alyin's farm is nearby too."

Taroo leads the way up the stairs and along a trail through a strip of dense woods when you emerge from the trees you all can see a stout wooden farmhouse as well as a number of outbuildings, a barn, a chicken coop, a well and Taroo's farmhands cottage.

The door and windows of the farmhouse are smashed in as are the barn doors and the door to Taroo's cottage.

The soft,y glowing one reaches Iago and attacks viciously with his sword. Iago blocks one thrust with his shield and the other blow is so clumsy that it goes no where near the cleric...

I got a promotion at work so I've been learning a whole new job and had a massive two day long meeting with some folks from interstate branches... then yesterday I had to take my daughter back to hospital for a check up on her thumb and to change her plaster cast to a plastic splint.

"The Renons are good people, Mr 'n' Mrs Renon... just simple farming folk , like myself but a bit older. No kids though..."

It takes about half an hour of navigating the river before Taroo and Draco beach the boat on a gravel bar along the east bank of the river...

Hoping out of the boat, Ravvek, Draco, Rakish, Seraphyna and Hung all spot muddy footprints and a trail of blood drops near some stairs up to the riverbank proper...
"Oh no, that way leads to the Tralio farm! They must have been raided too!" Taroo exclaims when the footprints are pointed out...

Investigation DC15 :
Looking around the gravel bar, it's clear to you that some wide and flat form of rivercraft (like a barge or a raft) has been beached here recently. You also spot a gourd canteen wedged between two rocks near the waters edge. You find it's empty but the inside has a pungent and foul odour to it... You must show the gourd canteen to the others if you wish for someone else to make the below medicine check.

Medicine DC15 ( someone must also have made the Investigation check above :
This gourd has recently been used to store poison!

Taroo leads you all down to the docks and hops on board one of the boats there, the boat is 20ft long and about 8ft wide. There are enough poles that everyone can help to push and steer downriver and Taroo directs and helps as well.

As he helps to guide the boat downriver he tells you a little about himself and the Renon's
" I've been working on the Renon's farm for about two years, they're good people and I've got a little cottage on the property but I'd been away for a few days visiting family. "

"I was supposed to be back yesterday but it got dark early and I ended up staying at a friendly farm a few miles to the east. I got back at mid morning and... the doors had been smashed in, they were missing and some of the livestock too! "

Anatar Shadowstar was born as a young boy into a very poor family. As he was growing up his mother had a BTL addiction that left her useless to her children, Anatar learned to beg and steal for food to feed his sister and himself. When he had reached the ripe old age of 13 his mother died and left him fending for his little family.
Now he was forced to up his effort to keep the place they called home and food on the table for his sister and him. Then that fateful day when he got caught trying to take a cred stick from a drug drop that went bad. Anatar grabbed it when it hit the ground when the rival drug pin was geeking the drop man.
He actually got away a full 2 blocks before the black nightsky rolled up on him, that is when the world ended, he was dragged into the back of the limo and beaten terribly. He was told the cost of theft was death or servitude. They pulled up to his doss and he was told since you are not answering for your crime I will choose for you.
That is when the huge troll bodyguard came from the building holding his sister, the suited man nodded and Anatar watched as his sisters brain was removed from her skull with a large caliber bullet. I spun on the suited man screaming and swinging until I was struck unconscious. The next thing I remember is waking up in more pain than I can ever remember. Then after I could finally stay awake and focus the suited man walked in. I tried to leap from the bed to strangle him for killing my sister but I found out I was restrained.
He then sits down and explains what he has done to me, he said you will become my driver and body guard. I start to laugh and say the minute I am free I will end you, he shows me a button and says you even think of crossing me and I push this detonator to the cortex bomb in you brain. When you have paid off your debt to me I will remove the bomb, but know the cost of the enhancements are great and you will owe me for years.
So my career started as a rigger, I learned control and fighting, I strived to learn everything, to be the best of the best. I started doing off site jobs when I knew it was safe. Started saving cred till I could get the bomb removed without Slick Sammy ever knowing. Then years later the day finally came. Sammy went to his vacation home, I had the procedure done when he was out of the country without me. Then he returned and that day had finally come. I was taking him on his daily pickup route and I had the Roto drone waiting. He stepped out and the ares alpha turned him to Swiss soy cheese. Now alone in the world with just the starting equipment I could gather and hide I turn to the shadows looking for a home and a family.
