Too bad I can't find them in the Austrian iBookstore.

A spell-like ability takes one standard action to complete, while a summon monster usually has a casting time of one round.

So, when is the summoned monster of a Summoner's spell-like ability able to act?

Rolling hills pretty much anywhere you look. The Shrike River a bit to the south, flowing raging, promising a cold and wet death to anyone that would try to raft it.
But not only the river is unwelcoming. The air is cold and the wind is biting. Spots of snow still linger, defying the sun.

A dozen or so figures make their way to the west, following a path that's called South Rostland Road. Some of them are afoot, some on a cart, one of them is riding on a dog.

Most of them possess a parchment, sealed, waxed and handed over from Lord Mayor Iosepf Sellemius (or one of his servants) in the free city of Restov.

Parchment:

Spoiler:

Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the swordlords of Restov, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by the office of the Regent of the Dragonscale Throne, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness known as the Greenbelt. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than thirty-six miles northwest and south and sixty miles east of Oleg's Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behaviour to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 24th day of Calistril, under the watchful eye of the Lordship of Restov and authority granted by Lord Noleski Surtova, current Regent of the Dragonscale Throne.

Everyone roll 1d10 for a rumor heard in Restov about the Greenbelt.

So, this will be the Discussion Thread for my Kingmaker game.

Starting players are:
SeekerOfShadowlight
All DMs Are Evil
Dax Thura
Hogarth
Bryan
Kevin Mack and
Justin Sluder.

Memento Mori is an alternate for now.

I don't have a starting date for now, but in the next week or so is possible, I think, if you get your characters ready by then.

I don't expect to much of a background for your character, but a bit it should be. Like 3 lines or so. More is better, but please, no 15 pages full of it. Your characters are beginners. ;)

As for character generation: let's try the 'Dice Pool'-Method, as described in the Core rules. 28d6 to be assigned on the 6 abilities, minimum of 3d6 per ability.
Core and APG classes are in, as well as two traits (from the Character Traits Web Enhancement and the Kingmaker Player's Guide) per PC.

Any questions thus far? ;)

I got a bunch of 2nd level characters fighting a Spider swarm.
There are two elves among them one a sorcerer, one a wizard.
Both know (and did prepaire) acid splash for the day.

But the question that arose is: Is acid splash considered to be a splash weapon?

The spell description specifies one target, and no area of effect.

The relevant portion of the swarm subtype traits are as following:

PRD wrote:

A swarm is immune to any spell or effect that targets a specific number of creatures... . A swarm takes half again as much damage (+50%) from spells or effects that affect an area, such as splash weapons and many evocation spells.

So, would that acid splash deal 1d3*1.5 acid damage against the spider swarm, or none at all?

Dear Cosmo, dear Alison!

Could you please look into said Order?
I hope to get an autographed book of Experimental Might, but that order is still listed as pending.
Maybe it is still too early to be worried, but I am.

Thanks,
Franz

As you can see, I am a Pathfinder Superscriber from nearly day 1.

I can easily enough put the AP's up on the board, as they are numbered for convenience, but the chronicles-books... not so much.

Even more troublesome are the modules. They bear a distinctive numbering system, but some of those are otherwise bound to be kept together...

Furthermore I have the problem, that I only have space in one row anymore, so no splitting up on different row possible.

So, how do you, or would you organise the books now, what is your system?

Today, my car (not even two years old), a Ford Fiesta 1,25 Coupé, got wrecked by a trailer. Photos? Sothal on Deviantart

Luckily, although I was in the car at the time of accident, I did not get hurt, and could drive it to a workshop.

The driver of the truck, that lost the trailer, stopped and has an insurance that will cover the repair of the damage.

The police was present, but did not much but to help us sort out what to do next.

So, what's your story of the day?

Subscriptions are convenient!

Just saying...

I'm not quite sure if it comes empty or filled...

It does not state one way or the other, so I'm kind of confused.

Hello Cosmo!

On the 17th of April I ordered some things along with a preorder of "Dungeons & Dragons—4th Edition Core Rulebook Collection" in the same order (see number above).

I'd like to cancel the 4E rulebooks.

Pathfinder RPG is one of the reasons, the other beeing WotC and 80some Dollars.

I hope that is not so much of a problem.

Thanks!

I am thinking about getting into True20, now should I wait for the revised Edition, or just order the hardcover?

Any advice appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Hello there,

Something strange happened with my Order of GameMastery Encounters and RotR Item Cards...

I recieved all Adventure only Encounters from the sale (including "Throne of the Gorilla King" which is mentioned neither in the Order Information in my Order History nor in the Shipment Information), but am missing the "Item Cards: Rise of the Runelords Deck" completely and one of the map cards of "Dark Elf Sanctum" (the lower left one to be precise).
(The Item Cards are on the Order Info and on the Shipment Info...)

Well, stranger things have happened, but I'd really like to get those Item Cards (it is a-okay to get them shipped with my monthly subscriptions, I can wait).

As for the Throne of the Gorilla King, what do we do?

Greetings from Austria,
Franz

Hello there.

I'm missing my Order #745155 which shipped August 22, 2007.
I know that the estimated transition time of 36 business days is still far away, but I'm wondering though: Order #781789 (which shipped August 27, 2007) appeared yesterday.
So well, it is another month until October 15 (or October 3 if saturday counts as business day) which will be the last day of the 36 day estimation (and yes I know it can still take longer), but it is kind of interesting that the later order arrived so soon, and the other one did not.

Anyway, as you can't do anything I just wanted to let you know that this happened and I am watching my mailbox.

yours
(more or less patiently)
Franz

There appears to be a glitch in Merlokrep's stats as he is indicated as fighter 2/sorcerer 4 but hat (3d10+6 plus 3d4+6 plus 3) hitpoints.
