Molydeus is not inside the field, only Kelgan, Rhiann (who's hiding) and yourself.
OK. The Antimagic field has a 10' radius, centered on her - and we still can't see her?
My AoO, taking into account that all enchantments are down: Attack roll 14+20=AC 34, damage 19+2=21. My weapon is still cold iron, but no longer good or magical.
This also brings up a more philosophical question - summoned creatures "wink out of existence" when the enter the field, only to reappear once it woves away. The demon casting the spell is clearly not a native of this plane - so how is it affected?
Molydeus' axe, and snake head try striking at Tarlan. But have no effect. He clasps his hand and says a few word in abyssal before he trys to fade away.
Fragos, Tarlan, Kelgan, Kutho you all gain an AoO as Molydeus casts invisiblity. Fragos and Kelgan remember to calculate for no magic items.
Huh. How can it cast any spells while inside an Antimagic field?
Fragos shakes his head at the snarling molydeus. "Gotta do better than that." With a flick of his sword, he rains holy fire down on the towering demon.
Using my Rapid Warcasting power to drop a Flame strike on his head as a swift action. Damage 15d6=59, half of which is holy. Reflex 27 for half damage, spell penetration roll 14+21 (Fragos gets +2 on his Warcaster powers)=35. After that, I cast Align weapon on my sword before stepping closer to the bastard. Next round the fireworks start... Concentration/Spellcraft check for defensive casting 13+25=38.
"She stabbed me with some sort of poisoned blade, so I knocked her out. She's probably the plaything of the demon that just split. No need to kill her. At least not yet. Now what was that in the other room?"
Fortitude 4+29=33. Did she claw me, or was that a dagger or something similar?
"One second, Giorge." Fragos looks down on the green goo dripping from his cut hand. "You really shouldn't have done that, whatever you are." He lashes out with his sword.
Attack roll 13+28-4(subdual damage)=AC 41, damage 15+10=25 subdual+4 fire. My sword is cold iron if that makes any difference.
"Whoa! Demons!" Fragos gesticulates at the quivering mound of fles. "Step away from it; it will dissolve into acidic vapours. As for you..." He turns to the female demon. "BEGONE, and take your noisome minions with you!"
Casting Holy word. There's all sorts of blinding, deafening and killing effects associated with it, but the most important might be that all non-native outsiders in the area of effect are banished back to their home plane. They get a Will save (at a -4 penalty!) to avoid banishment. The baseline difficulty is DC 29.
Fargos looks at the boulders, the blood-splattered woman and then back at the boulders again. "Step into the church. I can heal our lingering damage in there right away; after that, we can dealwith whatever it is that's falling out of the sky."
"By all means, go ahead and get your blade. We'll take tea later when we get to a more appropriate location." Fragos gestures vaguely towards the northeast. "If not Veluna, then where? I'll get us to a location you deem 'safe'."
"Ah... I..." Fragos can't quite contain himself any more, and bursts into a deep belly laugh. "You might be a demon-tainted, sociopathic bastard, Giorge, but I still like you. Killing you will make me very sad. I suspect that will be a bit down the road, though. Right now, it seems to me like we need to cooperate in order to save our world."
"I burned Shotragot out of your body less than a minute ago, Giorge. It cannot possibly have razed Veluna since then, and you cannot possibly have known about it. I'm starting to think that all that crying and whining was just an act and that you were a willing vehicle for your possessor."
"Mask is dead. As for you, I have cleansed you of your taint and cast whatever it was that possessed you back into he dark abyss from whence it came." Fragos picks up Giorge's new shield, turning it over a he examines it. "Killing you would have been senseless. You serve a purpose bigger than youself, and it was time for you to return to the path of light."
He throws the shield down in disgust. "Tag along. We're going to Veluna. I'll cure everybody's remaining ills there, and we'll destroy your demonic trappings as well."
We can easily get to Veluna City in a few hours using Wind walk. We'll talk more to Giorge and find out what he's been up to once we're there. Let's fly!
I'll patch Kelgan up with Cure serious wounds. I'll take care of the vile damage once I get to rememorise spells and can cast Hallow. Alternatively, I can Wind walk us to a holy location and heal everybody up there.
As you cast the spell and ask for divine assistance a voice chimes in your mind. "What is this man to you that you would ask for such a deed?"
"Giorge is, in his essence, an honourable and courageous man who has spent his whole life fighting the forces of darkness; his current possession by the creature Shotragot is an unbearably cruel irony considering his illustrious history. No living thing should ever have to suffer the unclean touch of such a foul thing, least of all him. Watching him resist his possessor even at this stage convinced me that he must be exorcised, and that he will continue fighting evildoers with undiminished strength and determination."
"I am fully aware that the boon I ask is not one lightly given, and that it comes at a price. However, for a man like Giorge, I am more than willing to pay it."
I'm using it! It seems like as good a plan as any, and it might even work.
Fragos runs towards the pair of unlikely villains. As he draws even with Jahangir and Raizen, he halts. Pointing his flaming sword at Giorge, he intones a spell.
I run 9 squares south. Put me between Raizen and Jahangir.
"Mighty Heironeous! A grave injustice must be undone and a good man restored. Cast the creature Shotragot out from Giorge's body and throw it back into the foul abyss from whence it orginally came! End its possession and banish it from the lands of mortals!"
I'm having a really hard time deciding whether to use that Miracle or not. I'll delay until the end of our turn - i.e. I'll act right before Giorge and Mask.
Missed the Knowledge (religion) chek. After all, my skill modifier is only +24.
Fragos states at the developing tag-team duel with mounting disbelief. "This is ridiculous", he mutters to Kelgan. "I'm all for fair fights and honour and glory and all that, but Giorge is possessed by some infernal monstrosity. We should beat him down and banish that ting from this world. Unless..."
I guess Break enchantment or Banishment won't quite cut the tie between Giorge and his possessor. But how about Miracle? Tha spell can do just about anything, after all...
"True." Fragos allows himself a small smile. "Let's see what our friend has in store for us. Also, don't touch the rock - it is probably harmless, but, if I was him, I'd put some sort of trap on it. Just leave it there."
Fragos comes wandering down the hall as the bell goes off. "A bell? How prosaic." He shrugs. "They knew we were coming anyway, I'd guess. Let's see what they want. And then not give it to them, of course."
Before we move on, I give Jahangir an application of Battle smite +10 damage on your first hit. It essentially lasts forever, but I can only have one going at any time, and I can't use it on myself.
If we knew of this Giorge fellow, what sort of adventurer was he? Was he a spellcaster or a fighter-type?
Crap! Amendment to the attacks above - my second attack wasn't a smite, so it hits ACs 5 worse and does 40 points less damage. Thus, it only hits AC 53 and only does 50 points of damage. Sorry about that.
A bunch of actions:
* I activate my Holy warrior power, which lets me use WIS instead of STR for attacks and damage. It lasts 5 rounds and costs me one Turn Undead attempt. This is a free action.
* I use my Battle smite power on Jahangir, who receives a +10 competence bonus on his first attack. This is a swift action
* I drop the Blade barrier. This is a free action.
* THEN, finally, I step 5' forwar and start whaling on the nearest faerie. I use my Smite power on the first attack - this adds CHA to my attack roll and my CL to damage, and costs a Turn Undead attempt.
Wow. I rolled three crits in a row... The first two hits might necessitate massive damage saves. Of course, if any one hit brings anyone down, I keep on cutting the next enemy. Too bad I don't have Power Attack or Cleave. If it makes any difference, my sword is made of cold iron.
You could set the blade directly on them when forming the wall
Changed my mind - I'll go with this after all.
Fragos steps forwads, muttering a mystical phrase. Immediately thereafter, a wall of whirling, gnashing swords manifests amidst the jaebrin, splattering the walls with their blood and flesh. With a satisfied smirk, Fragos touches Kelgan's axe, which suddenly seems a little sharper.
I move four squares south before dropping the Blade barrier on the faeries. I lands on the column in the rear of the room - it hits the three guys in the middle and traps the crossbowman behind it. This gives us cover from him until I dispel the wall. For some reason, Invisible Castle doesn't work, so I rolled my own damage: 15d6=61 points of damage, Reflex 28 for half.
Finally, as the Ordained Champion PrC lets me use my War Domain powers as Swift actions, I use my Battle Smite ability on Kelgan. His next attack gets a +10 comptetence bonus on damage. Make it count!
