History:
Ford seemed to be making trouble the moment he was born. His mother faced complications during birth, and when he came out, he wasn't breathing. Being faithful followers of Irori, his parent begged and prayed over him, they're prayer finally being answered after a harrowing 2 minutes of silence.
Ford had been given a new lease on life by Irori himself, if not more; growing up, Ford displayed powers that could only be described as divine. He developed a reputation for being a little trouble maker, getting into things and going places he really shouldn't. Thankfully, perhaps in anticipation by Irori himself, Ford always found a way out of it by releasing powerful magic to frighten off his aggressors. However, at 18, Ford's village was attacked by bandits. Being the devil-may-care person he was, he immediately rushed out to chase them off, and, naturally, found himself surrounded. In danger, Ford unleashed a wave of negative energy he'd never mustered before, and in the process, severely wounded the raiders and sending them packing.
Ford's amazing powers were more than just channeling energy of a god, at least according to the village priest: they were a sign of something more. Ford's parents revealed something to him that he'd never known before; located at the base of the back of his neck was a birthmark, which they were not surprised about given his birth circumstances. What did surprise them was the symbol that appeared; not a hand like they would expect one of Irori's blessed to have, but an open eye. Digging deeper, Ford realized this was actually the symbol of Aroden, the dead god. He believed all of these circumstances meant something, and his conclusion was rather unexpected: Ford was not a conduit for Irori, or even a deceased god like Aroden, but in fact, a replacement! Ford's destiny was to take Aroden's place in the ranks of deities and fill Aroden's shoes.
From that day on, Ford showed a definite change; he made a conscious effort to avoid getting into trouble as he usually did, hold his tongue around attractive women (or women in general, given his loose demeanor) and strive to aid others. He knew his divine powers could be used to harm, but he fought to counter this with learning to heal, showing quite a knack for it. He cut back on boasting, and instead sought to inspire others through his actions, rather than his words. Although he continues to struggle with this, Ford has made progress, and after leaving his home, has traveling the land in search of ways to improve himself for the eventual task of reaching the Starstone, as well as slowly gathering a contingency of future faithful. He refrains from being worshiped now, saying the lack of truly divine powers would be hypocritical; however, he does try to inspire other to follow him in the future, hoping his deeds will prove his destiny.

Personality:
Ford believes himself to be a future god, specifically a replacement deity for Aroden. He believes he is destined to be a god a protection, healing, strength and community, and adheres to his own set of tenants that he strives to live out for others to emulate. At it's core, he claims that endurance above all things will lead to fortune and prosperity, and should someone come to you seeking aid, to never turn them away, doing all in your power to aid them if you can. However, one must also see to oneself, so the beauty and holiness is NOT in aiding everyone, but striving to balance the personal needs with those who come to you for help. Self-reliance is admirable, but a lack of it is nothing to be ashamed of. Actions speak louder than words, and in the end are the only things that truly count. His mark is a shield flanked by broken arrows.
Ford's attempt to emulate godhood clashes strongly with his personality, and he struggles with this on a regular basis. He has an impulsive streak a mile wide, and thinking on things in the long term is a challenge for him. His instincts demand a degree of selfishness on his part, and on occasion, he's lazy, typically overlooking things or skimming over them when he shouldn't.
Ford calls on Irori for aid in his quest to achieve godhood. His reasoning is that he is attempting to refine himself to a perfect form. His parents worshiped Irori, and his mother even received divine aid in his birth; however, Ford sees Irori as a future ally more than a deity. He comes to Irori for aid with the intent of one day being able to return the favor to the divine being.
