** spoiler omitted ** So.. are the cats of pure-breed to get the masterwork quality? ;) Of course they are. How could I enchant a cat without a pedigree? Magic Fang.

"Ah, your reason stops the foolish dwarf from entering a fast river Thank you Garret, for keeping me from taking an ill-fated swim. I don't think clearly when it comes to traveling over water. I agree that walking by day may be a good idea now."
"We don't know if ther be a is a bridge close by. I'll... try and swim across."
He straps his shield to his back, but hesitates to unbuckle the straps on his hide shirt.
"Starting to wish I could turn into a fish like some of the more experienced druids..."
Flint shivers when he realizes they'll have to cross the river. He actually slips back into his dwarven accent.
"I ain't the best o' swimmers. Most of the river I've seen be small and shallow, easy to cross on foot. I avoided the others."
Flint stays close to those who can't see in the dark(if there are no torches), to direct them if needed. He seems at ease out in the wild, but his hand is never far from his warhammer...
"Well then, with the morning I shall ask for rain."
Flint goes out to sit in the sun. He looks like he is soaking in the warmth as he ask for Nature's daily blessing.
Flint stands and growls at the heat, his body stiff from sleeping on the ground.
"Ah, a day that should be spent under trees or in a river. Should we wait till it cools down a little, or should I ask Nature for a water spell?"
Done leveling up.
I'm down 3hp, and thanks to Damandor I'll be down only 1 hp in the morning.
Flint takes second watch again, hoping they were not followed...
Perception:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
"We need to move fast if we're put much distance between this place and us before we camp. Is anyone too hurt to walk on their own?"
Garret Highhill wrote: Permission to take Lesser Orb of Electricity (Complete Arcane) as one of my first level spells? Really, I just want a first level spell I can sneak attack with... Ooohhh. A ball of electrcity flying from your hand... Sounds like produce flame for some strange reason... :D
Will make any and all necessary changes, and I'll level up after resting(got to love that rule!).
Time to make up for my absence! I hope..
Seeing most of his comrades badly hurt, Flint charges while brandishing his warhammer.
Charge Attack:1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 = 18
Damage:1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Flint's AC for this round is 15(19 against the ogre).
AH!!! I lost my dot and didn't know this PbP was back. Sorry everyone. DM's choice whether I stay or go.
I think people are really mad about the armor loss because druids are still better!
*runs from thread*
"Who else thinks the big one's a giant?"
Flint straps on his shield and fire a glob of acid at the nearest bugbear.*
*Or if there isn't within 30ft, he'll ready an action to shoot it when one gets close enough.
Ranged Touch Attack:5
Damage:5 acid
Flint laughs as the bugbear's attack glances off his armor. He swings his warhammer at the humanoid, trying to fnish it off before it can finish him off...
Attack:22
Damage:5
Confirm crit:16
Total damage 15 if Flint confirmed(or I could uses Invis Castle and have it roll 3d8+6)
Flint roars as he strikes the bugbear mightily, his warhammer making a satisfying cruch as it strikes the bugbear.
I'm not exactly stealthy, but there should still be a healer with each group, so I'll double back.
And a post to get us off that number...
Noticing that it is evening, Flint sugessts they stop for the night.
"We've been walking all day, and the mule needs rest as much as we do. If we decide to keep going, those who can't see in the dark will need torches or sunrods, which become beacons for bandits. That on the other hand, will be unavoidable if we wish a fire at our campsite."
Damandor Yolanux wrote:
"Although, what I whispered to the cleric there at the end, left a bad taste in my mouth. I'll have to atone to Corellon for going along with that Hextor brute, that his deity is better then mine."
"Your faith was tested and I think you paseed."
Damandor Yolanux wrote: "I hope the cleric at the gate was exaggerating the need for protection." "At least where beasts may be concerned I may be able to offer assistance."
Garret Highhill wrote: Good for you. I think I've rolled about two 20s in combat. Ever. IRL I saw three 20's in a row as they were rolled, which caused an arrow to hit a stone giant... and go through his eye to pierce his brain. That was over a year ago, though.
Garret Highhill wrote: This bluff begins now.
"Well sir, Master Damandor here is leading a pilgrimage to another temple of Corellon Larenthian, and may we please pass through this gate guv'ner?"
Bluff: 13 Everyone, quickly! Aid Another!
And of course I roll a 20. Not to be mean or anything, but I wish I hadn't used up a 20, because now I will not get one from IC for a week! ;p
Flint tries to very hard help Garret and does well(especially for a dwarf!). He hopes he at least maked the story seem more truthful.
"And I can look after the mule as we go. I, unlike my cave-dwelling brethren, don't mind horses or their kin one bit."
Flint rearranges the his pack so it will be more comfortable during the (possible more than one or two day long) trip.
Power to the DRUIDS!!
Ivan Boldreiva wrote: Ivan wants to know who has been outside the city besides him. "Underground for most of my life and the forests above for the last 2 years. I only came into town for herbs that couldn't be found in the forest."
Don't know how well he knows the forest though it may not matter if we're traveling through a wasteland.
Ivan Boldreiva wrote: The wasteland is perilous, with many magical creatures. There used to be forts along the routes; maybe we could use them as we go. ... When do we go? "Do we have any idea of how long this journey may take? Even with these provisions, I still think it may be a good idea to prepare at least one spell for water. Wastelands can be dangerous for those unprepared, even druids."
"Did anyone bring back information along with the food? Do we know what happend to Antius?"
Monty Haul wrote: As most of you prepare to leave it is mid-to-late afternoon. The sky is overcast, heavy clouds indicating it will almost certainly rain once more tonight. Although cold, the twisted streets of the slums provide decent protection from any wind and at least you can move about without getting wet, for now at least.
Flint:
** spoiler omitted **
Other than guarding the box and reviewing my herb booklet, not really. He will share what meager rations I have with the moom cat and her kits. He will try to be alert though. There's no telling who may have seen us and had us followed, if anybody did at all.
Perception:11=3+8
Garret Highhill wrote: "You know, I could use I nice warm meal. I'll tag along. Flint, you mind staying here to guard the stuff?" "Not at all, it will give me a chance to rest my weary feet, the taller ones of this group just don't seem to realize we have shorter legs do they?"
Anyssa the Clumsy wrote: "Am I the only one here who doesn't hear voices in their head?" I haven't heard disembodied voices since I left the Underdark. But most of those were just echoes...
I consider underground cities part of the Underdark, Faerun or no Faerun.
Monty Haul wrote: Opening the sealed letter, Eland begins reading to the rest of the group.
As you know, the last doomed baron of that place was rumoured to have discovered Pelor’s Heart.
"Blessed Nature, a god's heart?!? I hope it is only a item the speak of."
Flint wakes, prays for his spells, then assits Ivan in uncovring the crate.
I switched out goodberry for a cure light wounds.
Sorry, I forgot we weren't using 3,5.
"Whatever we choose to, let us do it quickly. I do not like how this place feels. My only problems with burning the house down are 1) we may be spotted by someone and described to the Watch, and 2) the garden will take fire damage."
Monty Haul wrote: You each earn a 260 experience point bonus for reaching 500 posts, congratulations. (For those interested, it's calculated as 1/5 of your current level requirement - meaning you'll earn one bonus level for each 2500 posts).
I know it's a bit strange that you've nearly advanced a level in a day and a half of adventuring, but I think it's a justified thing. Let me know if you disagree...
Should we level up now, or do you want us to rest first?
Grunthor Firbolg wrote: Grunthor thanks Ivan for his offer but politely refuses. "If I cannot move I would rather stay here. I belive that I can still move myself but running might reopen my wounds at this time. I would however be willing to compromise. I'm not too proud to accept some assistance. Maybe with my arm over your shoulder I might be able to make better time." "You can pretend to be drunk. Traveling with a dwarf does tend to make that more likely."
Eland Westlocke wrote: Elandlooks around for anything that could tie him to Antius in a familial way, or at least to the manor. He also searches for anything that could be Antius' spellbook.

"I am beginning to think you are right about leaving. On our way back to the warehouse, I will stop and apprise my master of what has happened. I will see if he can have someone come and bury the dead and clean the manor."
As they leave, Eland lingers a bit looking for keys to the manor amongst the servents quarters.
In an attempt to help identify it, Flint tries to memorize the arcane symbol on the floor.
Int/Wis roll for memory check..
"Let us hold off on the appraisal until we are safe shall we? I do not want to be here when the Watch searches this place."
Having stayed silent since seeing Antius corpse, Flint pulls out a twig from a rowan twig and snaps it.
"May your spirit be at peace. We should not stay in this place long, but we should collect anything of value and return it to his next of kin."
He also hands a piece of willowbark to Anyssa and instructs her to break it and breath in it's scent to settle her stomach. Flint moves to a window on the same floor as Antius' room, and begins to watch for the Watch.
Perception:25=17+8.
The stuff with the stick and bark are nothing more than roleplay fun, and will have no effect on stuff like ghosts or DM inflicted nausea. But since Anyssa was the one who posted her possiblity of vomiting it should work. I'm not trying to step on our DM's toes.
Post moved for better rope-playing application.
*Seeing that the door doesn't seem able to be broken in, Flint scans the door for hinges.*
Perception:14=6+8.
If there are hinges, Flint points them out and suggests melting them instead of the lock.
I could try melting it...
Garret Highhill wrote: Well, doesn't look like we're going to be getting past these. Better defuse it." He then takes out a pair of wire cutters and tries to take out the tripwires without setting them off.
Disable Device: 10
"Guess I was wrong... Sorry Garret."
"Am I right in assuming none of us has experieance with traps?"
"And check on the crate after that is done."
