APPEARANCE
Tall and lean, he is dressed in brown leather and muted green cloth in subtle patterns that tend to fade into natural backgrounds. His cloak seems to slowly change color to match his surroundings as you watch.
His hair is a shock of shoulder length and sun bleached nearly white. His face is always covered by a scarf; except for on the rare occasions, like when he eats, he takes it off and you see...
Spoiler:
hideous scarring left by someone who really enjoyed his work Think Jonah Hex. Odd, since you've never heard of an elf with scars.
PERSONALITY:
<>An elf of few words, to the point of using hand signs instead of speaking, Finrod's voice is a roughened croak. Initially, he stares at you with an unnerving green eyed intensity.
He listens far more than he speaks. He warms to people slowly, if at all, though (having more than a little survivors guilt) he is patient
with those who ask for his help with survival and the natural world.
<>He is handy with making bows, arrows and repair, and will warm to and talk shop with another craftsman.
In his off time he can be seen experimenting with new bow improvements (like bowstring bushings to reduce the "twang" sound to a "thump"seen on modern hunting bows) and trick arrows like hollow arrows filled with powder or fletching that allows silent flight.
<>He likes to scout ahead and snipe from ambush, never giving an enemy an even break. He especially hates goblins for what they did to him and his friends. You have never seen him sleep, seemingly on watchful throughout the night.
<>He dislikes towns and crowds of people, hating the thought of people reacting badly to his disfigurment.
<>He really admires Shalelu, to the point of following her on her operations and doing whatever she asks. He will react violently to any threat to her.
Background:
<>During a deep forest trip, his class of magic students was caught in a cunning ambush by goblins. They indulged themselves in torturing them physically and mentally, until they were interrupted by Shalelu, who shot many with superb archery. She drove off the goblins and rescued the only two survivors, including Finrod.
<>While recovering from his ordeal, it was discovered that the disfiguring injuries were impossible to heal properly due to some Vile influence. Desiring to get away from the pitying looks of his fellow townsfolk, he wrapped a scarf over his injured face, abandoned his study of magic. Desiring to emulate his hero Shalelu, he apprenticed to a wandering woodsman, who taught him many things about survival, making your own tools, and archery. It is this time when he built his own bow for the first time, and still uses it to this day. Realizing he had a talent for the bow, he became a wandering hunter and guide for hire.
