"Take a look -- there used to be another pin next to the harbourmaster's office, but now there is only a blue pin. Maybe one of the colours means that someone is a target for assassination?"
Finn quickly rummages around the room, especially the table and the map (less interested in the gobbledygook on the chalkboard).

Why did I have to waste a perfectly good natural 20 on that!?

"Yes, one of these foul beasts was on Lavinia's ship and it nearly killed us all! Luckily we have learned a few new fighting techniques -- and gained a few new comrades -- since then." Finn's chin juts out proudly at their quick victory over the monster.
Daurros Erdai wrote: "You've all seen one of these before? When?" We fought a spider-thing in the cargo hold of Lavinia's ship at the beginning of the adventure. Wasn't everyone there?
Hopefully, with the spider-thing's -4 dex penalty (from grappling), Finn's 15 is good enough to hit.
Also, don't forget folks -- we have lots of action points left and according to the DM's XP records, we're getting pretty close to level 3. So spend them before you lose them! In particular, spending an action point for a free attack is pretty awesome...
Finn stares at Whisper coldly and says: "There is always a choice. Always. I would rather die than betray my principles by becoming a common brigand. Or worse..."
Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote: The two Daurros knocked out be better ones. The one Finn got may not had much a mind left after that Finn just coup-de-graced one of the knocked-out ones, so there's only one left.
Finn grabs his spear and wordlessly plunges it into one of the unconscious Lotus Dragons.
Coup de grace, (1d8+4)*3 dmg.
Finn almost stumbles in his blood fury as he clumsily lashes at the Lotus Dragon.
...concentrate...concentrate, fool..., he repeats to himself.

Double natural ones -- beat that, suckas!
While the Lotus Dragons are still flat-footed, Finn dashes into the corner so that he can fight with his back to the wall. He brandishes his longspear threateningly.
We got surrounded by 7 Lotus Dragons without noticing anything? Ye cats!
Finn draws his longspear. "Watch out, there are Lotus Dragons among the straw men! Prepare to fight!"
Finn will try to squeeze himself into the Silver Flame's burst of healing energy as well...
Ardanto Valanto wrote: I didn't think the room was flooding, now I am confuzzeled! I didn't think so either, but Whisper seems to be operating under that assumption, and the DM did mention that water started gushing out of a large pipe.
How fast is the room flooding?
FYI, Finn would be delighted to use the wand of mage armor on Forzakhad upon request. I'd much rather see the Cap'n save his power points for kicking ass!
Finn begins a howling, bone-chilling chant and his body begins to grow...and grow...and grow...
Cast enlarge person on self
"So be it. Although I still believe that Vanderboren is more likely deeper within the building, rather than in a smuggler's tunnel."
Finn frowns. "Let's let sleeping crabs lie this time and continue on; I doubt Vanderboren can breathe underwater, so we won't find him there."
Whisper. wrote: "Look perfectly fin to me" Fin is happy that Whisper is pleased with his appearance. :-P
Daurros Erdai wrote: While the doors are being checked, Daurros decides it's probably a good time to fish out his scrolls and cast mage armor on himself. Don't want to make it too easy for the next soulknife ... You're more than welcome to use the wand of Mage Armor instead, if you prefer.
"I say we take down the ladder, if we can, and continue onwards down here. I would guess it leads to a lookout position."
"There's definitely the outlines of a door there, if you look closely. Your intuition was correct this time, Ardanto. Whisper, could you check to make sure it's safe to pass through?" Finn asks in a low voice.
Welcome back, Whisper! Does Finn's elvish secret door sense go off when he gets within 10' of the dead end?
Guard wrote: Last unexplored door sounds good to me. Likewise
Ardanto Valanto wrote: Please let me know what you take so I can cross them off the list, I think Finn should have one as he is our resident "meat shield" The correct term is "punching bag" or "sparring dummy".
Finn gratefully drinks a potion of healing.
"His clothes are magic, all right, but I don't know much about what kind of magic it might be."
"Let me examine this man's equipment," Finn suggests, his face pale again from loss of blood (again).
Detect Magic on the guy's stuff
Finn looks grave as he grasps Thoven's arm. "That is the third time that you have saved my life, Father. I fear that I will never be able to repay you. But perhaps when we have brought Vanderboren to justice, I can begin to devote my life to the Silver Flame."
Finn tries casting Daze again.
Oops...forgot to check the map.
Finn shakes his head. In his delirium, he imagined attacking the foe with a spear, but that was clearly impossible. He summons up some arcane power from within the depths of his soul and sends it in a dazing burst at the enemy.
Cast Daze, DC 11
The gravely wounded monk refuses to give up; he moves back slightly, draws his longspear, and stabs at the deadly attacker.

How much healing did the channeling do? Is Finn awake again?
If Finn is awake, he withdraws.
How is Thoven channeling energy twice?
Ouch! Finn will use an action point to stabilize.
Finn looks thoroughly puzzled. "But why would they tie this man up unless he were an enemy? Sir, I suggest you disrobe and put Ardanto's suspicions at rest."
Finn moves over to the man on the rack and unties him.
"There, friend. I'd get out of here as soon as you can, because I think all Shavarath is going to break loose down here. But before you go -- can you tell us if you heard anything about Vanthus Vanderboren?"
Keeper of Forbidden Lore wrote: You guys really dont like Vanthus do you Finn doesn't, anyways. He's got a vengeful streak a mile wide.
Finn drops the repeating crossbow and rushes forward to slash at the torturer with his fiendish talons.
"I bet you're friends with that bastard Vanthus," he hisses as his claws scratch against the man's leather armor.

Finn will take 10 for his Perception checks when examining a cell.
Keep going.
Finn will scan the inside of each cell for any hidden clues to the previous occupants.
Finn follows Ardanto and scans the room for anything of interest.
Oh my god, it's full of stars...
Finn nods, spear at the ready.
bump?
Let's do it!
