"Oras: Select three feats that you do not have but whose prerequisites you meet. Once per day as a move action, you can gain the benefit of one of these feats for 1 minute. Each time you gain a level, you can replace one of these three selected feats with a different feat that you don’t have but whose prerequisites you meet."

Looking at RAW, it can be interpreted that each time a player chooses to activate a temporary feat that includes "Choose a/n X" as part of the benefit, that character may choose a different X.

For example, a player selects Skill Synergy as one of the feats granted by Ora's Blessing. The first time the player activates this feat, they choose Survival and Stealth as the additional class skills. Would they be able to choose different skills the next time this ability is activated?

Adaptive Fighting grants a similar ability for combat feats, but there are many more "Choose an X" options available to this version of Divine Blessing (including Adaptive Fighting, which compounds the issue).

Thoughts?

Edit: I see that there's a post from this past weekend that touches on this question, as well as a question about Adaptive Fighting, but there's nothing definitive as far as an answer goes. Should this post need to be merged with one of the others, that's fine.

Is there a APC class that the RNG actually likes compared to Archaeologists or Paladins?

going to need to do some thinking on Bes' spiritual leanings.. Anubis does not react well to skeletons wandering around, apparently.

needta step-up Belgood. Will update him tonight.

Probably going to be this weekend before I can stat out Bes.

(I should put it out there that the only person who thinks Bes will be a 'great leader' may, in fact, be Bes)

How about an arcanist who specializes in dealing with - and eventually creating - the undead?

I think we just crossed the GI Joe/Mallrats fandom streams.

Can I have a desert schooner?

So... I have an Archaeologist who got shang-hai'd into the pirate life... I'll have to think on this some.

for Heroes of Rokugan.

Sorry for the delay, folks. I have a module due the end of this month, and I've been trying to get that done.

That should calm his nerves a bit.

It's not so much a mistrust of magic as it is the fear of what comes with being found carrying such things. He'd react the same if you handed him a decently-sized bag of coin.

I'm down.

Belgood is just as reluctant to take the cloak as he was to take the silver scale, however.

the two flasks of oil.. are they something that we still need to identify, or are they simply oil?

Also, if they are just oil, Belgood would like to know if either of them would be sufficient for frying up some.. er.. grub.

When you said you wanted to play through your paladin's fall, I kinda thought you meant something else entirely....

Really, Really, late in seeing this, but just wanted to say Hello, and agree that the game was really fun.

Man, I'm loving Belgood's characterization. The little pessimist is growing on me.

Do you think a Heal will help with that?

*blush*

One of these days, the li'l bugger's bound to be right

And of course, *this* is the one time where I pack a character without a silver weapon...

Don't really feel like I deserve that XP...

At the moment, actually, I was just waiting for Ferret to touch back in on the info in their spoilers above; as soon as that happens, we're ready to rock.

*hangs head in shame*

Honestly didn't think there was anything to respond to in there, so it never occurred that I needed to. Carry on.

What's the ETA on kicking this one off? Is everyone ready now? I'm ready to battle some baddies!

Shisumo is off on a job-thing for a couple more days. He had hoped to find time between bouts of wining and dining to start up, but it appears that he has been distracted.

Well, I'm glad you had a good time. I did not realize you guys were both in that group. Or are you running that group? Either way.

And speaking of shiny, my mega-shipment arrived today! Yay! (It's big for me, anyway.)

I don't think I'm talking out of school, but Shisumo and I are both part of the team that runs it, yea. PF is how we take a break. ;)

and hooray for shiny shipments!

Talk to Ferret..

Too Much Magical Samurai, Not Enough Shopping. By the time I actually had time to hit the floor, the shinies I was looking for were gone.

I did score a really nice print, and someone tabbed me for a Questionable Content character sketch, so there were Things To Be Had that were, in fact, had.

Based on the directions y'all are taking with your characters, would a tiefling be too disruptive to the group? Was looking a doing something by way of a redemption story with a sneak-thief trying to go straight.

DM Shisumo wrote:
Okay, so yeah, I'm doing this.

Potential Dot.

Surely the Andoran can help rouse these folk into throwing off the yoke of servitude!

Evril stands, clearing is throat. "What he said," he agrees, before returning to his seat.

If video games have taught me anything, my elven heritage should mean that I can just walk up the line while shooting my bow and possibly carrying a dwarf.

Just an FYI: Shisumo may be a bit sporadic, as his laptop is being repaired again. He may be able to post via phone, but...

DM Shisumo wrote:
I've got no problem with it as a matter of course, but I reserve the right to talk about it later if it should somehow become a problem. Does anyone else have an issue with it?

Getting a "4th Imperial Legion" vibe from this group, Shisumo-sama.

I think I like it.

DM Shisumo wrote:
Ferret hasn't picked a race yet to my knowledge ...

Human Inquisitor in the service of the Empyreal Lord Sinashakti. Exchange Agent, and some other trait I haven't decided on yet.

SuperUberGeek wrote:
Fifth guy has to be a bard. It is in the rules.

Bleh.

Looking at a Druid of some stripe, but still trying to find something that really feels right.

DM Shisumo wrote:
Everybody, say "hi" and let's start seeing how we can pull a party out of this. I know some of you already have some concepts in mind - so far, I think your concepts haven't overlapped too badly, so I think it should work out.

Hullo!

I'm still trying to think of what I would be playing, but tend to try to fill any role that hasn't been chosen by the rest of the party.

DM_Shisumo wrote:
The sailors proceed to strip the two unconscious men to their waists and tie them to the mainmast with thick ropes

Are we bound to the mast upright, or merely leashed and lying on the deck?

DM Shisumo wrote:
As a sidebar, what races are people looking at? I know Eleuterio (Eleu? Terry?) is human, obviously, and based on what Stalwart was describing it rather sounds like he's going human as well, but Ainvar? Ferret?

Probably Half-elf, so that I can use the siege machinery when the time comes.

Question for the party: Who's planning on driving the boat? Stalwart looks to be settin' up for the captaincy, but is anyone putting points into spinning the wheel?

AinvarG wrote:

Well, the shine has warn off the Besmaran cleric, but that only narrows me down to the flexible arcanist (mosaic mage) that may not be a good fit for the adventure, the shark shaman that really sounds like a lot of fun, and the storm druid that may be the best combination of versatile and applicable.

Any thoughts from the other players?

I'm looking at bending the Archaeologist Bard variant into a Ship's Carpenter, which would give me a bit of flexibility and allow for a secondary healer...

DM Shisumo wrote:
Okay! We have four players, and hence, a quorum to do business! So have a swig of this here rum, and let's spin a pirate yarn together!

My two favorite things! Business and Rum!

My preference would be for a Diplomatic (or perhaps not-so) Rogue, but am open to suggestions.

It looks like we were waiting for it to arrive from distribution as part of our 4 - 11 day estimate before it ships from our facility. Checking our current inventory it looks like we just received your copy a bit ago and should have it shipping out to you soon.

Thank you, sir! I was afraid it had vanished in to the Pit of Out of Print AEG Products.

I know the holidays have added an extra layer of complication to the process, but I was wondering if the delay in getting this order processed was due more to a product shortage or just general holiday bog-down?

Thanks,
Mike

Hunh. That appears to be new... Thanks!

Been a while since I've done the PbP thing.. how are you handling Dice Rolls? I noticed none of your rolls link to anything?

Heya gang! Shisumo went foraging for players, and came up with me. Not sure how Boss Kobold plans to drop me in, but I wanted to step in here and wave. *wave*

Heya Gang. Apologies for PbP Limbo. I've been kinda busy on the work front (Retail + Holidays = fleh). I was also waiting for responses to the previous scene, but hadn't heard from everyone.

Essentially, there is one RP scene left, which I had actually typed up and posted, but apparently Oni-no-Forum ate it (or I messed up the button pressing). As things are running currently, I won't be able to take a second pass at the wrap-up scene until after the first of January.

As this game has kinda been dragging for several months, I am also willing to go ahead and write up a Finale post and award XP and such, so that y'all can take this off your radars, if you wish.

Lemme know,
Ferret

Heya gang!

I just wanted to let you all know that I may be slow at posting over the next few days, as I will be running Mods for HoR and PFS at GenCon.

Also, I was wondering if any of you were interested in continuing on with the next module once Treacherous Terrain is complete? At the current rate, I expect to be finishing up in 4-6 weeks.

Michael D Moore wrote:
PS. This is probably just me overreacting because I'm not used to PbP games.

I really am sorry about the delay, folks. With all the work strangeness, a couple of days turned into a month before I really noticed. Things should be smoother from here on.

If you want , I can try to continue DMing at his stead while waiting for him to come back.

I apologize for having to do this, but since taking over the GM-ing chores on the HOR game, I find that I will likely not have time to run a game and play one at the same time. I appreciate having had the chance to play with the three (4, 5?) of you, and look forward to the possibility of doing so again in the future.

Good luck, and great adventure,

-Ferret

Curiousity: Are any of you headed to GenCon?
