Flowing Monk + Crane Style = Awesome Sauce

Overall, a Str bonus would be very effective. Bonus to CMD, CMB, to hit, and damage. I don't know if he climbs, but it'll help that- and tigers IRL love to swim.

"Please allow me to watch the tiger fight for a while- I may be able to learn something."

I'd like to get into this. Used to run Saga a few years ago.

My character concept is fairly simple- an ex-Space Marine who's finished his tour and is now looking for mercenary work. He's got some ghosts from his duty which I won't go into here. (Let me corner you and tell you all about my character!)

I'm not sure how this PbP thing will work, though, or if there's still room for me. So any info on that would help.

Okay, I got a fairly reliable answer after discussing with some knowledgeable folks after my session tonight.

Alchemical Power Components add a very specific effect to a very specific spell. There are no powers one can add to a Shocking Grasp, type-swapped or not, with, say, a Liquid Ice. And using the original Power Component would yield nonsensical results, like an ice-ball that sets targets on fire. (I don't think Coldfire exists in PFS.)

So it seems like an Admixer would have to choose one or the other- change the type or use the component.

Still might be up for debate, and thus for an individual GM to decide. I think if it were me I'd disallow some combinations (fire and ice, for example) but a lightning-ball that sets targets on fire doesn't seem that far out. In Society play, though, until I hear otherwise, I simply won't try it because it's clearly against RAW.

I'm not seeing why this would be a controversy. Can you elaborate?

It's really down to RAW vs. RAI I guess. I was hoping to find some precedent I could quote to simplify things for whatever GM has to adjudicate. Personally, I'd say acid ball -> acid flask.

(On a footnote... Why would you ever want to cast a Fireball?)

Call me old-fashioned. I know blasts aren't that great, but it's fun nonetheless. I'm more into character-as-concept and RP than many of the more power-gamer types I run into.

I'm wondering how APC's work with spells whose damage type have been changed via the Versatile Evocation feature of the Admixture school.

Say I decide to mix it up and cast an Acid Ball instead of a fireball. Would I get the benefits of an Alchemist's Fire if I used that to bolster the spell? Or would I need to use a flask of acid instead?

Is it even an OPTION to use a Power Component in this case?

I could see this being something where multiple GM's would rule in multiple ways...

I've played in systems where being trained in Acrobatics allowed you to make a set-DC check to reduce standing to a swift action. It still provokes, though.

Would love to see this become part of the rules. It would still require something special to avoid provoking.

Maybe it could be a basic part of Acrobatics, but require a certain number of ranks.

I'd like to see somewhere that members of PFS could post obituaries for their characters, and have a guest list to see who 'showed up' to honor their fellow Pathfinder.

As it sits, I've got this.

Personally, I think it would add a bit of flavor and immersion to the Pathfinder world.

So I guess, if anyone wants to reply on this thread as having been at the services, I'd think that was all kinds of awesome. It's tough to see your -1 character go.

Hey, this might be kind of a newb question, but I've been looking on the Additional Resources page trying to find out if the alchemical bolts/arrows (specifically fire and acid) from Second Darkness #15 are PFS legal.

I know it lists 'Second Darkness' but I don't want to assume that covers all of them.

And, if they are legal, I have a followup question. Abundant Ammunition says it works on all non-magical ammunition, which I've discovered includes things like adamantine or cold iron arrows. Would this work with alchemical ammo as well?

And a third, mostly rhetorical question- why, if there's Liquid Ice which is almost exactly equivalent to Alchemist's Fire, is there no listing for ice bolts/arrows?
