Though luck, good luck getting it sorted sometime.

I enjoyed this game and was really looking forward to continuing it but I'll have to play this adventure with my RL group someday I guess.

Cya

Late Perception check 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Feli is intrigued by the sounds so unusual for such a place. Realising his fellows feel the same but do seem to be alert Feli takes a firm grip on his bow and takes out an arrow just in case.

Feli speaks softly:
"Now what do we have here...?

hehe, let's find those E doors ;)

Feli softly whispers a few words of motivation as Borden prepares for the task:

"Borden, although this might seem a bit hard, I'm very confident you can pull this one off. Just relax, keep breathing and don't let yourself be distracted..."

Inspire Competence +2

"Well done Borden, that was some impressive tinkering you did there."

Feli marvels at the sight of Borden's hand actually going through a wall.

"Wow, well now that's something! What lies hidden by such a wall? Surely something of the gnomes, they seem to like tricks like that."

I'm off for a week, probably no internet, feel free to DM Feli

"Borden, what are your thoughts on this? Do we turn back or is there something you, or anyone else, could do?"

if needed Feli can help out with some "inspiration"

I'd say explore south

Wondering why the first creature revived, Feli fires at the second one hoping his comrades will finish it off once it goes down.

moving to get a clean shot not too far away (I9) 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Hearing the curses of his companions, Feli turns his attention to the combat and shoots his bow.

Rapid shot, 5ft step if necessary to shoot at #2. (incl. Precise Shot and Point Blank Shot. 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

edit: oh forgot to remove -2 from the first shot.

"Oh what have we got here?" Feli says as he enters the room after friendly declining the offer of the half-orc.

Knowledge checks? Arcana, history, local, dungeoneering, geography, nobility? These are +6 for Feli, should I roll more than one?
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19

Feli takes a good look at the masks on the walls, fascinated by their song and its meaning.

Relaxing a bit after the slightly tense situation before Feli speaks:
"Well met Oswaldo and Chandos, I'm Feli B'urnan of the South, storyteller by profession but nowadays finding myself running after lost children. We'll be glad if you can help us out."

Feli smiles at the words of Dreav and raises his eyebrows in anticipation of the rest of the introductions.

Although Feli isn't directly familiar with the language spoken by the creature he tries to remember the words he said hoping that he somehow manages to decipher them.

Linguistics 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11

Feli ponders on the words a bit but still doesn't recognise them.

"Well, that was both weird and scary. I wonder what we should make of this."

We're using our level 3 characters now right? I got Precise Shot for Feli as his last feat so no -4 for in combat. Still a hard shot and worth a try :)
Oh Moonpate, initiative is for entire encounter, no need to roll again.. right?

Feli will shoot again.

1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Sorry for being slow to reply, I forgot to update Feli's profile so I had to do it over.

Initiative1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18

Feli is shocked by the vicious attack on Borden but quickly recovers his wits and shoots his bow with precision at the creature.

Attack point blank and precise shot & dmg 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Feli follows Kysstaa and Borden with his bow drawn feeling confident in his close combat archery skills

oooh level 3, are you sure? Feli's still level 1 haha. I'll get to work right away.

Feli nods in approval to Borden as he puts an arrow in his bow. He follows Borden to the curtain and waits there.

perception:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
crap! must be that spell moonpate cast on me earlier....

"It's okay Moonpate, I don't mind taking one for the team but I'm also quite surprised at the effectiveness of your magic. How wonderful it also didn't do any permanent damage.

I don't know! I'm in no condition to be of any influence hehe. Good job though, go team adventurers

Feli is shocked as it suddenly becomes clear to him the guards are really out to get him. Not accustomed to his charms not working Feli feels despair growing but then is caught in a bright flash.

DM:

blinded and stunned: 1d4 ⇒ 2

"Arrest me? Sirs you are making an honest mistake here!"

Feli focusses on the sergeant:

"I have nothing to do with the disappearings. Although I'm sure you have some fine men here they're really mistaken."

diplomacy?

Spoiler:

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11

"Cahoots? No sir! No cahooting here I assure you. We're the honest kind of folks."

DM:
Sense Motive1d20 - 1 ⇒ (16) - 1 = 15

As he's approached by the guards, Feli takes a bow and adresses them:

"A good day to you sirs. I'll try to keep it short as not to keep you from your work. One can see you are hard working and well performing guards of this fair city. My business here is completely innocent, that I can tell you straight away. I wouldn't even think of misbehaving in any sort of way. To answer your questions: Although I'm not skulking around, which I guess indeed is something for the night, I'm currently waiting for a few friends to show up, I'm supposed to meet them here. Also I'm not hiding anything, I wouldn't dare! Except maybe a story I could tell you about a hero from the far far south. If you have some time left I could tell you about him."

Perception:
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7

Feli is somewhat startled by the approaching guards so he doesn't really try to blend in.

To himself he mumbles:
"Of course... guards at this very moment."

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

me 2

oooh threat!
confirm 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

After circling the building and not finding anything, Feli will carefully watch for anyone spying on them or the locksmith. He'll then wait nearby for a sign, trying to look somewhere else.

Perception1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Stealth 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

After the first sign of something happening inside, Feli will rush inside, shortbow ready to fire at any obvious targets.
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Feli will try to cover any other doors or windows at the back or side of the building if possible to make sure none leave or enter.

Eager to find out what's going on, Feli rubs his hands together.

"Yes, that seems like a splendid idea, one worthy of telling after we've pulled it off!"

back from holiday, broke my wrist so can hardly type. expect less text from me.

Not really paying good attention to everything Keygan's saying, Feli does try to remember if he's heard of some of the things Keygan mentions.

Sense Motive1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Knowledge (history)1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

As they enter the locksmith's store, Feli takes a good look around while waiting for the locksmith to finish. Only when he's sure the locksmith is not looking at them, he tries to signal a warning to the rest of the group by tapping slightly on his sword.

Once the locksmith finishes his work and question Feli responds:

"Well met locksmith Ghelve. An interesting bunch we might be but we've come across things more interesting than us. For instance the tragical disappearance of children from the orphanage, this really bothers us and a lot of people in the city. Are you aware of that and if so, what can you tell us about it?"

Leaving the orphanage1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

At the locksmith 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

this party needs something Large. Half-giantish type to throw the little ones around and swing weapons the size of humans like they were twigs.

or a black clad "I-shoot-rays-that-drain" necromancer

Past deadline but if you can use someone I'm here.

Feli grins after discovering his mistake.

"Ah yes how silly of me! I'm so caught up in this thing I must have missed that bit. Again, don't worry too much, we'll find out what happened to the children and hopefully bring them back safely."

yes let's see this locksmith, Borden seems to have it all figured out :) Finding a sage seems like a good idea too (if we can afford it).

Feli laughs out loud at Kashykk's slightly inappropriate behaviour towards Moonpate.

"A half dwarf hmmmmm, let me think, I'm not sure on those..."

DM:
Bardic Knowledge on half-dwarves1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18

"Moonpate, would you like to meet this child Terrem? And is that possible dear lady Kashykk? We wouldn't want to interrupt any of their classes or so."

happy new year all, I hope my "copy-before-posting" skills will improve this year... this is my 3rd try on this post

Feli smiles after hearing Moonpate's words:

"Hahaha! Well, well, feeling better already are we? I know very well which Cauldron it could refer to but it seems this child Terrem has caught your attention somehow so please do continue."

Feli then speaks to the headmistress:

"Lady, I think my companion here might be right, nevermind the kitchen or the curtains. There's probably two possible answers to the question of how the children disappeared. Either someone else has a key or something magical is happening here. Both are very well possible I'd say, how sure are you that you're the only one with the key? Did it ever get stolen or lost? Lately perhaps?"

Back to Moonpate:

"Dear Moonpate, you're much more accomplished in the arcane ways than I am, do you have any ideas on how the children got away, either by themselves or because of someone else?"

Feli looks surprised at Moonpate's question about a child called Terrem.
Being annoyed at the group not being able to find anything, Feli tries to remember what Lady Jenya said to them.

"Usually the divine messages are covered in riddles which makes them hardly ever directly useful but maybe that rhyme from Lady Jenya isn't that cryptic. Perhaps it can even shed some light on where to look right now."

Feli takes a few breaths and waits to make sure he's got everyone's attention:

"The Locks are key to finding them.
Look Beyond the curtain, below the cauldron.
But beware the doors with teeth.
Descend into the malachite 'hold.
Where precious life is bought with gold.
Half a dwarf binds them, but not for long."

"Well I guess there's quite some possibilities there. First the locks, which seem to be a problem. Beyond the curtain? Lady Kashykk, are there any curtains where we could look "beyond"? Also a cauldron, this would be in the kitchen one would say. I assume you have one, feeding all these children would require that, can we see it? What's next, uhm this malachite hold... something greenish? Life bought with gold? Half a dwarf? These puzzle me too much. I say we should start looking at curtains and cauldrons but keep paying attention to those locks."

Darkmeer, I tought I'd give you an early warning: I'll be offline for a week from january 15th. Snowtime :)
Feel free (your the DM, I shouldn't even say this) to slap my character around ;)

Feli calmly lets Lady Kashykk finish her story while wondering how she must feel.

DM:
Sense motive 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14

"Mmmm that's very odd indeed. Lady Kashykk, we will do our best to comfort you, now would you please show us the room of the children that disappeared? If that doesn't help us any further we'll look at your room and see what kind of mysterious powers are at work here at the orphanage"

To the group:
"Well well, time for us to pay attention to everything from now on. Borden, last night I was told your usually the one to spot things before others do, we're trusting on you here. Dear Moonpate, if you feel any better would you mind keeping an eye on anything "not-so-natural"?"

At first Feli is amused by Moonpate's miserable state at the breakfast table:

"Nightmares? Sir Moonpate, I think what you suffer from is the result of trying to keep up with the drinking skills of the young while being young no more!"

During the walk to the Orphanage Feli notices it's not just a bad hangover that's tormenting Moonpate so he leaves him alone to speak with the others, not wanting to annoy the wizard anymore.

At the Orphanage Feli takes a good look around at the almost scenic building with its many shortcomings.
"Wow... although this place has probably seen better times it does have a real 'orphanic' feeling to it..."

In the small room Feli speaks with Gretchen:

"Well Headmistress, I think it should be us who can help. We've been told by Guardian Watcher Jenya that children are disappearing. While this isn't a rare thing, especially for an orphanage, we do find the numbers quite shocking. Considering it's children we think we should act with haste, so please tell us everything that might be of importance."

All:
Aaargh post eaten! And my butt hurts from falling too. Stupid season ;)

Feli bows gracefully before accepting Jenya's gift.

"Lady, you need not worry too much eventhough it graces you. We understand you have much to do so we'll do our best to make sure this whole mystery is solved in a good manner."

With these words Feli takes a few steps back to let the others accept their gift.

Feli enjoys his glass of wine and almost forgets to pay attention to the conversation. "Ah yes I agree, these Jesters are puzzling indeed and I bet that's the way they like it."

Finishing the wine with a satisfied smile, Feli continues:

"Moonpate, while your wisdom doesn't show itself in your words, it does show their meanings. I'm not sure how much haste we have but food, drinks and rest seem like a good suggestion to me."

To Jenya:

"Lady Jenya, Guardian Watcher, may I thank you for these drinks? We'll try to find out what's going on here. While disappearing adults normally wouldn't make me the slightest interested, running away isn't solely a thing for the children, the disappearance of the young is worrying indeed."

Feli listens to what Rufus has to say but doesn't feel entirely comfortable walking away knowing that they've probably made an enemy well capable of getting back at them. Every few yards he looks around to see if they're being followed.

Focus: The promotion of free will, and the use of free will for holy ends.
Basic Information: Thelesis is the oldest of the Defenders in some traditions, fathering the others before time was framed. Others claim that he is the husband-brother of Sanoi, and yet others claim that he is the son of Sanoi. Whatever the case, he is among the most powerful of the Sarim.

Thelesis has remained largely aloof of affairs in celestial politics. He focuses on freeing those burdened and bound down by evil, working closely with Zehanruh in this area. This less aggressive approach appears to be little changed from his largely defensive attitude in the War of Law and Chaos. Ophanim who choose to work with Thelesis are similarly apathetic about the Choirs as a whole, and could care less that the hashmallim assume them involved in Choral Affairs. If the freedom of a soul from Evil is possible, it does not matter whether the opportunity is found by happenstance, or under the direction of a misguided throne hashmal.

The Agent of Altruism, despite his tendency to remain in the background politically, has a huge amount of influence in the Upper Realms. His aid extends even to those that he disagrees with on ethical terms, so long as such aid does not compromise individual agency, and thus he has many favors that he can call in at any one time.

Thelesis' closest allies are Zehanruh and Sige from among the Defenders, as well as Jibrael, Metatron and Sandalphon. From among the Virtues, Asha and Spenta Armaiti in particular he finds little common...

oooh boy so much information, I better get my lore right.

Favoured weapon?

oops ignore that last sentence, he already picked it up himself

Only slightly assured by Moonpate's words, Feli switches his attention to Rufus:
"Hello sir, under different circumstances I'd call it a pleasure in meating you. Let's just be glad these circumstances aren't any worse. What were these ruffians after? Were they simply mugging you or is there something else?"

To the rest of the group:
"I mean, look at that arrow that Kysstaa found: I'd say this was quite an unusual robbery with the robbers using blunt arrows and disappearing in smoke, don't you think?"

Feli picks up the breastplate to hand it back to Rufus.

Amazed by the ferocity of some of his colleagues, Feli is actually glad no one got killed.

"Woah easy fellas, no need to make a name as killers this quickly. We just arrived here! Killing muggers isn't our job and might even get us hanged in some places. Good job though in scaring them off."

Although feeling quite safe with his comrades, Feli checks out the surroundings just in case...
